HENRY PRICE

Henry Shelby Price, 85, of Magnolia, died Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.

He was the son of Lee and Annie Skaggs Price and the husband of Margie Milby Price.

He was a charter member of the Buffalo Nazarene Church, a retired storage watch operator for Louisville Gas and Electric, a member of the Hodgenville Gideon Camp, local IBEM #2100, member of the Magnolia Lions Club and a lifetime farmer.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Norma (David) Wade of Harrodsburg; three sons, Jerry (Brenda) Price, Clay (Pam) Price and Neal (Laura) Price, all of Magnolia; one foster son, Monroe Coeffey of Hodgenville; two sisters, Virginia Vincent of Owensboro and Mazie Chitwood of Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, Joe (Dorothy) Price of Greensburg and Milton (Sue) Price of Sheperdsville; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Theresa Nell Price and Phyllis June Price, three sisters, Themla Price Henderson, Lillie Toadvine and Mildred Kinder and three brothers, Paul Price, Alfred Price and William Price.

The funeral was held Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 at the Buffalo Nazarene Church with Rev. Andrew Singh and Rev. Mitch Hedge officiating. Burial was in the Wilson Cemetery in Green County.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Hodgenville Gideon Camp, P.O. Box 25, Hodgenville, KY, 42748.

Dixon–Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia was in charge of the arrangements.

THOMAS SALLEE

Thomas C. Sallee, 83, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at the Thompson Hood V.A. Center in Wilmore.

Born June 21, 1925 in McAfee, he was the son of the late Eugene and Bessie Mae Watts Sallee.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War, was a truck driver and a member of the Southside Christian Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Sheila (Max) Clark of Harrodsburg; three sons, Tommy (Cindy) Sallee Jr. of Harrodsburg, Ralph (Alesia) Sallee of Lancaster and Rodney W. (Cathy) Sallee of Nicholasville; one sister, Eugenia Warner of MI; two brothers, Billy Sallee of Lexington and Ansel "Buck" Sallee of MI; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Sallee and a grandson, Mathew Sallee.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with David Collier officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Aaron Sallee, Adam Sallee, Andrew Sallee, Nathaniel Sallee, Brad Young, Chad Young and Andrew Pulliam.

Visitation Wednesday, Nov. 12 after 5 p.m. and Thursday prior to service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Thompson Hood VA Medical Center in Wilmore.

ANN SHERLOCK

Ann Elizabeth Sherlock, 64, of Harrodsburg, died on Nov. 8, 2008.

She was the wife of Gary V. Sherlock.

She graduated with honors from Bellarmine College and afterward taught at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. She was a board member of the Herrington Lake Yacht Club and the Chimney Rock Neighborhood Association.

In addition to her husband, survivors include: one daughter, Sarah K. (Robert) Filiatreau; one brother, Philip T. (Susan) Carter and three granddaughters.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at Perason Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery.

FRANK TRISLER

Frank Raney Trisler, 87, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born April 8, 1921 in Burgin, he was the son of the late Philip B. and Susan R. McCrosky Trisler and was the husband of Mary C. Hopper Trisler.

He served in the Army during World War II, was a retired postman for the U.S. Postal Service, a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church and was a Life and Charter Member of the VFW

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Nancy B. Trisler of Harrodsburg; two sons, Philip H. Trisler of Lexington and Frank S. Trisler of Summit, NJ and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Trisler Howard and a brother, Joe Trisler.

The funeral was held Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Ken Kleme and David Ross officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Trisler, Larry Trisler, Bobby Trisler, George Buchanan, Joe Don Denny and Jack Springate.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Frank Trisler Sunday School class and co-workers from the Post Office.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church Endowment Fund.

MARSHA WILCHER

Marsha Karen Wilcher, 52, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.

Born Oct. 20, 1956 in Letcher County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elsie Combs Caudill and was the wife of James Floyd Wilcher Jr.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Freedom Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, survivors include: three sons, James E. Louallen Jr., Brian D. Louallen, both of Harrodsburg and Christopher D. Wilcher of Lexington; five sisters, Helen Reynolds of Dayton, OH, Erna J. Luddell of Columbiana, AL, Sharon Caudill of Junction City and Pollyanna Woods and Lois Dean, both of Harrodsburg; five brothers, Charles Caudill of Anderson County, Clarence Caudill and Kenneth Caudill, both of Harrodsburg, Lennis Caudill of Columbiana, AL and Doug Caudill of Hazard and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Bentley.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bobby Logue, Harold Thompson and Randy Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Lenny Caudill, Clarence Caudill, Kenny Caudill, Charles Caudill, Doug Caudill, Lee Dean, Austin Louallen and Benny Peyton.

Visitation Thursday, Nov. 13 after 5 p.m. and Friday prior to Service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

CONNIE CHILTON

Connie Jean Purvis Chilton, age 65, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Thomas Leon Chilton, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Mercer County to the late John H. and Mary Louise Wilham Purvis.

She was a member of the Anderson Christian Church; a homemaker and a former caregiver at Heritage Hall Health Care Center.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin Chilton, and Pete (Tonia) Chilton, of Lawrenceburg; a grandson, Dustin Leon Chilton, Lawrenceburg; two sisters, JoAnn (William) Collins, Salvisa, and Glenda Claunch, Lawrenceburg; and a brother, Rodney Purvis, Lawrenceburg.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Lou Shelton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 20, at the Gash Memorial Chapel with Tim Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Sand Spring Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, November 20.

HOLLIS COX

Hollis Ray Cox, 56, of Lawrenceburg, died Thursday, November 14, 2008 at the home of his son in Anderson County.

Born July 11, 1952 in Lexington, he was the son of the late Elbert Raymond “Tubby” Cox and Arlene Belle Gaines Cox Phillips.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 – 1975, and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a plating operator with Universal Fasteners for over 20 years, an avid race car fan, Kentucky Wildcat fan, and a hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren.

He is survived: one by a son, Stevie Ray Cox (Amber Zobh); two daughters Rebecca Meadows (Tony Chrisman) and Jessica Rene Cox (Mikey Foley), all of Lawrenceburg; three brothers, Donnie Cox (Tammy), Raymond Phillips of Lawrenceburg and Hugh Phillips (Jennen) of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren, Haley Paige Meadows, Dylan Ray Cox, Brayden Scott Foley, Holly Chrisman and Jordan Trey Cox, all of Lawrenceburg; and a niece Arlena Cox and nephew Jasper Perry. He was also survived by Mary Ann Cox Ward the mother of Stevie, Rebecca and Jessica.

Including his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Ranzel and Willie Cox, a step son in-law Jarvis Meadows and a nephew Douglas Ray Martin.

Funeral service were held Sunday November 16, at the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Dedman and David Walden officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Raymond Phillips, Mikey Foley, Chris Caffey, Jasper Perry, Danny Ray Cox, Mike Satterly, Ian Banner, Paul Harley and Scott Martin.

Honorary bearers were Bob Hyatt, Dylan Cox, Brayden Foley, Jordan Cox, Lee Henderson, Patrick Gaines, Sammy Martin, Danny Martin, David Riley, Haley Meadows, Holly Chrisman, David Allen Cox, Zackary Harley, Tony Likins, Patrick Beasley and Buck Satterly.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of the Bluegrass, 208 Steele St. Frankfort, KY 40601.

MARY DURHAM

Mary Elizabeth Ann Willis Durham, 85, widow of Russell palmer Durham, died Wednesday at her residence.

Born April 1, 1923 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Francis and Frances Dutton Willis.

She was retired as a seamstress for Chricketeer and a member of Hedgeville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Russell Eugene Durham.

Survivors include: two sons, Fred (Beverly) Durham of Danville and Russell Palmer Durham, Jr. of N. Attleboro, MA; two daughters, Anna Faye (Frank) Tanner of Knoxville, TN, and Mary Catherine (Barry) Brumfield of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Margaret (Dom) Peveri of Hopkinton, MA, Teresa Carbon of Bellingham, MA, and Anna Mae Hagen of Holly, MI; six grandchildren, Denise (Tyler) Long, David (Lisa) Durham, Clay (Alisha) Durham, Christy Payne, Brian Tanner and Jeremy (Michelle) Brumfield and six great-grandchildren, Lauren and Allyson Long, Abbie, Maggie, Mylie, Avery and Elliot Durham and Hailey Payne.

The funeral was held Saturday, November 15, at the Stith Funeral Home in Danville with Rev. Steve James. Burial was in Poplar Hill Cemetery in Casey County.

Pallbearers were her grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to The Salvation Army or the Danville Fraternal Order of Police.

ALBERT DURR

Albert Chandler Durr, 72, of High Springs, FL, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at his residence.

Born, March 10, 1936 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late George and Cordelia Claunch Durr and was the husband of Annetta L. Isham Durr.

He was a member of the Fort White Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Roy Durr of Alachua, FL; two daughters, Rebecca Blackburn of High Springs, FL and Rita Kay Durr of Gainsville, FL; two brothers, Lesllie Durr and Morris Durr, both of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Beatrice Gritton, Melvina Cheatham and Virginia Robertson, all of Harrodsburg and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at the Fort White Church of Christ with John Futrell officiating.

Arrangements were by Evans-Carter Funeral Home in High Springs, FL.

CATHY MOBLEY

Cathy Staples Mobley, 57, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008 at her residence.

Born July 29, 1951 she was the daughter of the late William J. and Agnes Loftus Staples.

She was a former Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center nurse and a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She was a 1969 graduate of Mercer County High School and a graduate of the Danville School of Nursing.

Survivors include: one brother, William R. Staples of Harrodsburg; one sister, Mary Anna (Richard) Rothan of Pennsylvania ; one aunt, Chauncey Loftus of Indiana; two nephews; three nieces and several cousins and great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church with Father Danny Schwendeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Humane Society, 896 Moberly Road, Harrodsburg, Ky 40330 or American Cancer Society , Mercer County Unit, P.O. Box 113, Harrodsburg, KY 40330
