Joyce Mebs, 63, of Crestview Hills, died at 11:56 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.

George Philip Ogburn, 89, of Sanders, died Friday at Car roll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton. He was a farmer and a member of Carrollton Bap tist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Justine Wilson Ogburn; a son, Philip W. Ogburn; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. to day at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Fu neral Home in Carrollton. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Car rollton.

Basil P. Owen, 77, of Belle vue, died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. He was a retired steel worker with Interlake Steel, Newport, and a member of Sa cred Heart Church, Bellevue. His wife, Louise Sharp Owen, died in 1968.

Survivors include a son, James Owen of Cincinnati; a daughter, Ruth Neyman of Southgate; a brother, John Owen of Ocala, Fla.; seven grandchild ren and three great-grandchild ren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Belle vue. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas. Memori als are suggested to American Heart Association, 1885 Dixie Highway, Suite 250, Ft. Wright 41011, or the church, 318 Divi sion St., Bellevue 41073.

Jeffery Scott Proctor, 27, of Carrollton, died Saturday at his home. He was a mechanic and a member of Family Worship Cen ter Church, Carrollton.

Survivors include his wife, April Lynne Proctor; daughters, Katie and Jessica Proctor, both of Carrollton; a son, Jonathan Proctor of Carrollton; his par ents, Jim and Linda Proctor of Warsaw; and sisters, Nancy E. Foster and Leigh Ann Proctor, both of Carrollton, Kimberly M. Moore of Owen County and Ka ren S. Proctor of Macon, Ga.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carlton-Lowder Fu neral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery.

William S. Robertson, 66, of Burlington, died Friday at his home. He was a retired tow mo tor operator with General Mo tors and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of United Auto Workers and Na tional Rifle Association. A son, Gregory Allen Robertson, died in 1989.

Survivors in clude his wife, Donna Cotten gim Robertson; a son, Gary Wil liam Robertson of Quakertown, Pa.; daughters, Marie Robert son-Klein of Florence and Saundra Hag gard of Richwood; his mother, Flora Ledford of Florence; brothers, David Glenn Robert son Jr. of Richwood, James O. Robertson of San Antonio and Roy Eugene Robertson of Las Vegas; sisters, Janice Houston of Walton and Barbara A. Pope of Independence; seven grandchild ren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger.

Mabel C. Walden, taught 41 years in Grant
Though Mabel C. Walden did not have children of her own, her wisdom and kindness were passed onto generations of youngsters.

"She taught everybody in Grant County for 41 years," said Jane Howard, a niece. "Her students were her children."

Mrs. Walden's three great-nephews have been treated to her generosity.

"She was always glad to spoil them," Mrs. Howard said.

Mrs. Walden taught for two years in the 1940s before marrying William H. Walden. Mr. Walden died in 1947, and Mrs. Walden's love for teaching took her back to the classroom, where she stayed until 1973.

Mrs. Walden, 85, of Cincinnati, formerly of Williamstown, died at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas.

She taught at Williamstown Elementary

School and Grant County High School.

She was an avid fan of genealogy and helped many neighbors find their roots.

Mrs. Walden was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Williamstown Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Belle Moreland of Cincinnati.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Grant County Historical Society, in care of Betty Barnes, 12 Charlotte Heights, Williamstown 41097. Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill, is handling arrangements.

Judith Ann Black, 55, of Royal Oak, Mich., formerly of Brooksville, died Wednesday at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Charles Allen Black, died in 1996.

Survivors include daughters, Theresa Berry of Warren, Mich., and Patricia Marcotte of Hazel Park, Mich.; a brother, Robert Hodge Jr. of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Obarzanek Funeral Home in Sterling Heights, Mich. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Neave Cemetery, Bracken County. Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, is handling local arrangements.

Emma Childs, 90, of Covington, died Wednesday at Ambassador Nursing Home, Cincinnati.Arrangements are pending at Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington.

Grace B. Chirmer, 90, of Florence, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. She was a retired teacher with Gallatin County schools, and a member of the Gallatin County, Kentucky and national retired teachers associations. Her husband, Paul Chirmer, died in 1983.

Survivors include a sister, Jane McNeely of Richmond, Ind.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery.

Carl Francis Corde, 70, of Long Beach, Calif., formerly of Mays Lick, died May 31 at his home. He was a Navy veteran, and pastor of Rhema Bible Tower in Long Beach, which he founded. He was a former Kentucky Fried Chicken manager and transportation worker, and a former deacon with St. Paul Baptist Church in Long Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Anna R. Berry Corde; a daughter, Carla Corde of Temecula, Calif.; sons, Terry Corde of Vallejo, Calif., and David Corde of Corona, Calif.; sisters, Sylvia Peters of Maysville and Ann Corde of Long Beach, Calif.; and brothers, John Corde of Long Beach and Ron Corde of Edmonds, Wash.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Washington Missionary Baptist Church, Maysville. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mays Lick Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home, Mays Lick, is handling arrangements.

Lula Covey, 69, of Stanton, died Tuesday at her home. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Beverly Covey; sons, Thomas Lee Covey of Cincinnati, Paul Covey of Newport and Edward Covey of Louisville; a daughter, Beverly Schneider of Hebron; brothers, Oscar Thacker of Dayton and Elmer Thacker of Goshen, Ohio; sisters, Pearl Slone of Stanton and Ada McLemore of Pensacola, Fla.; two grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Wells Funeral Home, Stanton. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Irvine.

Mary C. Sundler Croke, 91, of Highland Heights, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport. She was a homemaker. Her husband, John E. Croke, died in 1980. A stepson, Edward Croke, died in 1979.

Survivors include a daughter, Corinne Hagedorn of Highland Heights; a brother, Fredrick Sundler of Sarasota Springs, N.Y.; a sister, Ellen Livingston of Sarasota Springs, N.Y.; seven grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Friday at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas.

Jennie E. Cummins, 62, of Burlington, died at 10:02 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a maid and a member of Beechgrove Holiness Church, Burlington. A son, William Cummins, died in 1983.

Survivors include her husband, William Cummins; a son, Dwight Cummins of Burlington; daughters, Frances Kersey and Sharon Kerns, both of Dayton, and Shirley Schweinzger of Melbourne; her mother, Brady Griffin of Burlington; a brother, Ike McDaniel of Crittenden; sister, Lillie Belle Mobley of Belleview and Angie Fugate of Petersburg; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Beechgrove Cemetery, Burlington. Stith Funeral Home, Florence, is handling arrangements.
