Beloved daughter and sister

FRANKLIN - Services for Breyonna Louise Monay Vilcan, 9, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ibert's Chapel. Entombment will be in Chitimacha Mausoleum in Charenton.

Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. today at Ibert's Chapel, which will reopen Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Lafayette and a resident of Charenton, Breyonna died at 7:34 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at her residence.

She is survived by her mother, Amiee Fritz Guidroz of Charenton; her stepfather, Tony Guidroz of Charenton; her brother, Christian "Doo" Guidroz of Charenton; her sister, Schuylar Nichelle "Lalu" Vilcan of Charenton; her stepbrother, Anthony Guidroz of Charenton; her grandparents, Gae and Thom Miller of Tennessee, Betty Bobbitt Vilcan of Charenton, Pamela Fritz of Saudi Arabia, Archie and Gayle Vilcan of Charenton, and Rita Guidroz of Patterson; her great-grandmothers, Gae Wood of Tennessee, and Norma Vorce of Florida; her godmother, Paula R. Persilver of Charenton; her godfather, Jeremy Andrew Vilcan of Charenton; her mostly adored, Jenna "Lee-Lee" Marcotte of Charenton; and her aunts and uncles, John "Tobe" Fritz II, Thomas Ryan Miller, Dillon Jeffery Fritz, Burgundy Jean Fritz, Steven Quinn Vilcan, Rachel Vilcan Dugas, Jeremy Andrew Vilcan, Nikina Vilcan, Kathy Gaspard, Jodi Mitchell, Brenda Tappin and Randy Guidroz.

Breyonna was preceded in death by her father, Archie "Vinny" Vilcan Jr.; her grandfather, Dr. John E. Fritz; and her stepgrandfather, Harold A. Guidroz.

Walter Weathersby III

Loving brother

FRANKLIN - Services for Walter Ray Weathersby III, 43, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ibert's Mortuary with the Rev. Michael Russo officiating. Interment will be in Franklin cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday with a 10:45 a.m. rosary at Ibert's.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of Sorrell, Mr. Weathersby died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Weathersby was raised by his aunt and uncle, Uric and Vuearlee Rogers, from the age of 10 months old. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by one brother, Shawn Weathersby; two sisters, Raine and Jodie Weathersby; four uncles, Uric Rogers, and his wife, Vuearlee, Ovay Rogers, Oray Rogers, and his wife, Louise, and Pat Weathersby; two aunts, Doris Walker and Ann Clausen; and his maternal grandmother, Gladys Rogers.

Mr. Weathersby was preceded in death by his birth parents, Walter Weathersby II and Sadie Rogers Weathersby; his grandfathers, Whitney Rogers and Walter Weathersby I; and his paternal grandmother, Yevette Weathersby.

The family requests no flowers.

Services are pending for Alvin Lawrence Foreman, 92, who died at 6:17 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, in Tallulah.

METAIRIE - Services for Lelia DeRouen Power, 84, will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Metairie Funeral Home. Interment will be in Garden of Memories.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, which will reopen Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

A longtime resident of Harahan, Mrs. Power died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at her residence.

Services are pending for Rodney Emonet, 69, who died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Dauterive Hospital.

ERATH - Services are pending for Preston Hebert, 75, who died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his residence.

David J. LeBlanc

Avid golfer

SCOTT - Services for David James LeBlanc, 37, will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Charles Mallet officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Delhomme Funeral Home in Lafayette, which will reopen Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of Lafayette, Mr. LeBlanc died at 12:25 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. LeBlanc was the son of Albert M. LeBlanc and the former Jeannette Simon. He was a 1980 graduate of Acadiana High School and graduated in electronics from Southern Technical College. Having worked in the electronics field most of his working life, he was working for CED of Lafayette as a salesman. Mr. LeBlanc was a member of the Louisiana Electrical Association and loved to play golf.

He is survived by his companion of 13 years, Tina Patten of Lafayette; three daughters, Lacy and Terrin LeBlanc, and Lacey Berard, all of Lafayette; his parents, Albert M. and Jeannette Simon LeBlanc of Duson; four brothers, Keith A. LeBlanc, and his wife, Deborah, of Lafayette, John T. LeBlanc, and his wife, Melanie, of Chatsworth, Ga., Tony "Blanc" LeBlanc, and his wife, Jackie, of Lafayette, and Wayne C. LeBlanc, and his wife, Rachael, of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Babette Guidry, and her husband, Bob, of Lafayette; his godchild and niece, Chelsey LeBlanc; his godchild, Jericah Boudreaux; his niece, Sarah LeBlanc; his nephews, Jared and Jake Guidry; his maternal grandparents, Howard and Eunice Simon of Duson; and his godmother, Brenda S. Walker.

Mr. LeBlanc was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Augustine and Alma LeBlanc.

Pallbearers will be Keith A., John T., Tony "Blanc" and Wayne C. LeBlanc, Bob Guidry and Robert S. Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Simon, Barry Prevost, Raywood Baudoin, Jason and Patrick Patten, and Harry Thibodeaux.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Acadiana and all of Mr. LeBlanc's friends and relatives.

Lucy V. Lopez

Loving mother and grandmother

DELCAMBRE - Services for Mrs. Willis B. Lopez, 83, the former Lucy Viator, will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Voorhies officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-10 p.m. today with an 8 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia, which will reopen Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Delcambre and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Lopez died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.

She is survived by one son, Ulysse P. Lopez, and his wife, Barbara Babin Lopez, of New Iberia; one daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Jenny) Romero of New Iberia; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Viator David of New Iberia; nine grandchildren, Wayne and Trent Romero, Jessica Stein, Stephanie Pellerin, Wanette Haycock, Kevin Buteaux, Michelle Vallot, Jody Chevalon and Joey "Poncho" Lopez; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by her husband, Willis B. Lopez; her parents, Edmond and Elina Delcambre Viator; one daughter, Delores L. Buteaux; two brothers, Cleus and Joseph Cleor Viator; and two sisters, Verdie V. Bourque and Lucette V. Dutil.

Pallbearers will be Eugene, Wayne and Trent Romero, Oswald and Kevin Buteaux, and Joey Lopez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Etienne Chevalon III, Todd Vallot, Steve Stein, Bruce Pellerin and Kenneth Haycock.

Services are pending for Benjamin T. "Ben" Morgan Sr., 92, who died at 3 a.m. today, Feb. 16, 2000, at his residence.

Mrs. Rufus Comeaux

Services are pending for Mrs. Rufus Comeaux, 81, the former Aspasie Robicheaux, who died at 7:20 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at her residence in New Iberia.

Maxon J. Edgecombe

Services for Mrs. Leonard Franklin Edgecombe Jr., 88, the former Maxon Jones, will begin at 3:30 p.m. today at David Funeral Home - New Iberia North Chapel.

Visitation will be from noon today until the time of services.

Another service, beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, will be held at Pine Grove Methodist Church in Pine Grove.

Visitation for the Pine Grove service will be from 1:30 p.m. Sunday until the time of services.

Reverends Steve Horn and Eddie Morgan will be officiating.

Interment will be in the Harrell Perpetual Care cemetery.

A native of Pine Grove and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Edgecombe died at 1:05 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at IHS of Heritage South in New Iberia.

Mrs. Edgecombe taught at Buras High School for more than 20 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Helena Maxon McKean and her husband William "Bill" of New Iberia; a granddaughter, Maxon Jean McKean of Baton Rouge; a grandson, William "Billy" McKean Jr. of Hammond; a cousin, Mamie Jones of Lake Charles; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Franklin Edgecombe Jr.; father Authur "Pete" Jones; mother, Lena Stokes Jones; three brothers, A. Pharr Jones, B. Tillman Jones and Carl W. Jones; and one sister, Jewel Leona Jones.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Highland Baptist Church or to the charity of the donator's choice. Donations also can be made to the Harrell Perpetual Care cemetery, care of Gayle Morgan, 34964 J.W. Hall Road, Walker, La., 70785.

Octa Firman Galtier

DELCAMBRE - Private services for Octa Firman Galtier, 69, will be held by the family at a later date.

A native and resident of Delcambre, Mr. Galtier died at 5:39 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at a New Iberia hospital.

He is survived by one son, Scotty James Galtier of New Iberia; four brothers, Curdis Galtier and John Galtier, both of Delcambre, Leonard Galtier of Plaquemine and Rodley Galtier of New Orleans; one sister, Ame Galtier of Delcambre; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Octa and Eugenie Renard Galtier; one son, Rocky Galtier; and one brother, Joseph Galtier.

The Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre is in charge of arrangements.

Moise Girard

Services for Moise Girard, 90, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the David Funeral Home - New Iberia Downtown Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Waguespack officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Family cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. rosary, at the David Funeral Home - New Iberia Downtown, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday.

A native of Delcambre and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Girard died at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at IHS of Heritage North in New Iberia.

Mr. Girard was a retired New Iberia city employee.

He is survived by two daughters, Evelyn G. Collins of Kentucky and Gail Girard Picard of New Iberia; five sons, Charles Girard of New Iberia, Eli Girard of New Iberia, Gerald Girard of New Iberia, Julian Gerard of Lydia and Percy Girard of New Iberia; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hoppauir Girard; father, Moise Girard Sr.; mother, Maria Touchet Girard; two sons, Leroy Girard and Paul Girard; and nine brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Cortez H. Norman

Services for Mrs. Charles Norman Sr., 75, the former Cortez Hunter, will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Church of Christ.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the David Funeral Home - New Iberia North, which will reopen Monday at 8 a.m.

A native of Texarkana, Ark., and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Norman died at 4:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.
