Marlin L. Landry

Loving husband and father

ERATH - Services for Marlin "SAG" Lawrence Landry, 76, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Wayne Duet and Rev. Terry Allen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military honors conducted by fellow American Legion members Post 279 of Erath.

Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today with 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. rosaries at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Tuesday from 8-10:45 a.m.

A lifelong resident of Erath, Mr. Landry was born Aug. 18, 1923, in New Iberia. He died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at his residence.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Landry was a paratrooper with the much-decorated 101st Airborne Infantry Division (Screaming Eagles) of the U.S. Army. His battles and campaigns included D-Day in Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland, the Central Europe Theater and the fiercely fought battle of Bastogne. His decorations included the Eameto Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge with one oak leaf cluster, World War II victory medal and Belgian Fourragere.

Mr. Landry was employed by Texaco Inc. in 1947 and retired after 37 years of dedicated service. The Landry family would like to thank Dr. Steven Abshire and his assistant, Ms. Natalie Deshotel, the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Hospice of Acadiana, Joyce Carter and all the friends and caretakers for their help and prayers.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce LeBlanc Landry of Erath; one son, Michael Landry of Lafayette; and one daughter, Marla Rose Landry Dubois, and her husband, Mickey Dubois, of Lafayette.

Mr. Landry was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence J. Landry; his mother, Lola Marie Boudreaux Stansbury; his stepfather, Leon J. Stansbury; his maternal grandparents, Sagasta Boudreaux and Ida LeBlanc Boudreaux; and his paternal grandparents, Jules and Ella French Landry.

Pallbearers will be Warren Perrin, Kermit Bouillion, Kenneth and Kermit Blanchette, Keith Hardy and John Earl LeBlanc.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Schexnayder, Lee Bernard, Newby LeBlanc, Dudley Frederick, Emmett Bares, Vorris Bernard, Rodney Simon, Corbet Domingues, Robert Perkins and Norman Broussard.

Rista G. Ardizone

Loving wife and mother

JEANERETTE - Services for Mrs. Steve Ardizone, 87, the former Rista Galtier, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Erath and a resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Ardizone died at 7:13 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.

Mrs. Ardizone was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Ardizone of Jeanerette; one daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Gary of Jeanerette; two brothers, Edwin "Tibby" Galtier of Baton Rouge, and Harry Galtier of Jennings; three grandsons, Doug and Mark Ardizone and Michael Gary, all of New Iberia; four granddaughters, Camille Gary, Angela Migues and Stephanie Napier, all of Jeanerette, and Rachel Migues of New Iberia; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ardizone was preceded in death by her parents, Ceasar and Fedora Menard Galtier; one son, Stephen J. Ardizone; one brother, Chester Galtier; and two sisters, Frances Cormier and Mrs. Camille "Mavry" Weber.

Pallbearers will be Doug and Mark Ardizone, Jerry Dooley, Michael Gary, Damon Migues and Chuck Napier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Irvin Moceri, William Billy Robin and Gene Thibodeaux.

Services are pending for Ewell J. Romero, 82, who died at 7:32 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his residence.

Services for Ewell Joseph Romero, 82, will begin at noon Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be until midnight today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Romero died at 7:32 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Romero was the owner and operator of Romero's Bar. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, gardening and spending time with his dogs, Rover and Betsy. Mr. Romero was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lona Gary Romero of New Iberia; his son, Curtis Romero Sr., and his wife, Lorraine B. Romero, of New Iberia; three sisters, Earline Bourque, Ussay Creech and Eunice Gary, all of New Iberia; one grandson, Curtis Romero Jr., and his wife, Jeanie D. Romero, of New Iberia; two granddaughters, Lana Louviere, and her husband, John, and Donna Scott, and her husband, Donald, all of New Iberia; his great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kristin and Sky Louviere, Crystal R. Meyers, Emily, India, Jill and Curtis J. Romero III, and Troy and Daina Scott, all of New Iberia; and his great-great-grandchildren, Curtlyn Meyers and Ryson Romero, both of New Iberia.

Mr. Romero was preceded in death by his parents, Onezipe and Andrea Lopez Romero; and two brothers, Freddie and Stanley Romero.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence Comeaux Jr., Kevin Meyers, Curtis Romero III, Curtis Romero Jr., and Troy and Donald Scott.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Bourque, Bobby Creech, Donald Gary, Paul Viator Jr. and Jimmy Romero.

Services are pending for Alexis Haisley, who died today, Feb. 18, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Gladys A. Jones

Loving mother and grandmother

NEW ORLEANS - Memorial services for Gladys Puig Allen Jones, 80, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Ignatius Chapel, Bobet Hall, Loyola University. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.

A native of Orleans Parish and a resident of Jefferson, Mrs. Jones died at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at her son's residence in Atlanta.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Robert C. Allen of Atlanta; two sisters, Elsie Marie Puig Arena of Houston, and Thelma Landry Druhe of New Orleans; and three grandchildren, Robert L. Allen of New Orleans, and Christina M. and John C. Allen, both of Atlanta.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husbands, David Jones and Noel C. Allen; her parents, Manuel E. Puig and Hazel Marie Choppin; her godmother, Lydie Landry; her brother, Manuel Puig; and her sister, Amelia Puig Bullard.

Amy A. Roman

Loving mother and sister

Services for Mrs. Boston Roman, 91, the former Amy Antoine, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Edward's Catholic Church with the Rev. Sebastian officiating. Interment will be in St. Matthew cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at David and Jacquemoud Funeral Home.

A native of Jeanerette and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Roman died at 8:04 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center.

Mrs. Roman was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons, Edward Roman of Houston, Junius Roman of Jeanerette, and Richard Roman of New Iberia; four daughters, Patricia Roman Phillips, and Lorenza, Mary Ann and Thelma Roman, all of New Iberia; and two sisters, Julia Antoine and Cora Collins, both of New Iberia.

Mrs. Roman was preceded in death by her husband, Boston Roman; her parents, Batiste and Delia Johnson Antoine; four brothers, Arthur, Gilbert, Junius and Sidney Antoine; two sisters, Cecil Antoine and Lorenza Livingston; and three grandchildren, Catherine Davis, Michael Demouchet and Marvin Latulas.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Crystal Ann Buras

DELCAMBRE - Memorial services for Mrs. Crystal Ann Buras, 42, will begin at 2 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lake Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Voorhies officiating.

A native of Empire and a resident of Delcambre, she died at 3:34 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at a Lafayette hospital.

Mrs. Buras was employed with Baker Hughes Inteq as an inventory specialist with 13 years service. Prior to that she was with National Supply for 10 years.

She is survived by her close love, Gregory "Peck" LeBlanc of New Iberia, her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Helen Buras of Empire, her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mabel Pelas of Empire, one brother, Eric Buras of Empire, one sister, Melissa Bordelon of Empire, and also by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerryl and Paul Pelas Buras, a brother, Kerry Buras, her paternal grandfather, Herbert Buras, and her maternal grandfather, Ernest Pelas.

The family prefers memorials to the Susan G. Kommen Breast Cancer Foundation c/o American Cancer Society, 1030 E. St. Mary Blvd, Lafayette, La., 70503.

Gertie R. Couvillier

Beloved wife, sister and friend

Services for Mrs. Felix Couvillier, 68, the former Gertie Romero, will begin at noon Saturday at David Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Derise officiating.

Entombment will be in Holy Family Mausoleum in New Iberia.

Visitation began Friday at David Funeral Home - North, with a rosary service at 7 p.m., and resumes at 8 a.m. today and continues until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Couvillier died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Lafayette.

She was a bookkeeper. She retired from A&P Grocery Store after 29 years. She worked at Simoneaud's South Grocery Store for 18 years. She enjoyed working, shopping, dancing and she loved people.

She enjoyed watching the American Movie Channel. She also enjoyed having her nieces Chelsea and Ashleigh over for the weekend. After days end she enjoyed a couple of

Schlitz.

Mrs. Couvillier is survived by her husband, Felix Couvillier of New Iberia, and two brothers, Paul Romero of Arnaudville and Russell Romero of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her father, Exalta Romero Sr., her mother, Blanche Romero Romero, two sisters, Joyce R. Huval and Casey R. Couvillier, and two brothers, Lester Romero and Exalta Romero Jr.

Pallbearers will be Randy Daigle, Daniel Huval, Brad Romero, Paul Romero, Russel Romero and Mark Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be Brett Romero, Rusty Romero and Claude Simoneaud.

The services are under the direction of David Funeral Home - North.

Louis H. Guidry

Services for Louis H. Guidry, 73, will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Albert Boumans officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 1:30-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of St. Martinville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Guidry died at 12:05 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Dauterive Hospital.

Mr. Guidry was a retired partner of Guidry's Ignition Service and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Georgie Champagne Guidry of New Iberia; two sons, Glen L. Guidry of New Iberia, and Myles F. Guidry of Studio City, Calif.; two daughters, Anita Guidry Bellinger of Knoxville, Tenn., and Peggy Guidry Wynn of Hawaii; two grandsons, Michael Guidry of St. Kitts, West Indies, and Mitchell Lustman of New Iberia; one granddaughter, Jennifer Bodin of Arnaudville; and four great-grandchildren, Colby, Hunter and Zachery Bodin, all of Arnaudville, and Brooke Lustman of New Iberia.

Mr. Guidry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anita Olivier Guidry.

Pallbearers will be John Bellinger, Kossuth Boutte, Craig Derouen, Harold Dugas, and Mitchell and Ray Lustman.

Alexus K. Haisley

Beloved daughter and sister

Services for Alexus Kaynicia Haisley, two weeks, will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Home with the Rev. James Broussard officiating. Interment will be in St. Matthew cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

A resident of New Iberia, Alexus died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.

She is survived by her parents, Clinton Haisley and Whykenia Butler of New Iberia; two sisters, Ronicia Wiltz and Kaylan Butler, both of New Iberia; her maternal grandmother, Mona Butler; her paternal grandmother, Lorraine Sparrow; her paternal great-grandmother, Amy Haisley; her maternal grandfather, Charles E. Fusilier Sr.; her paternal grandfather, Clifton August; her maternal step-grandfather, Robert Butler Sr.; her maternal great-grandfathers, Shelton Jones and Frank Fusilier; and her maternal step-grandmother, Tomius Fusilier.

Alexus was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmothers, Beulah Ray Gregoire and Matilda Antoine; and her maternal great-great -grandfather, Arthur Gregoire Sr.

Pallbearers will be Robert J. Butler Jr. and Bashonnon Butler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Earl and Roy Haisley, and Charles E. Fusilier Jr.
