Cortez H. Norman

Loving wife and mother

Services for Mrs. Charles Norman Sr., 75, the former Cortez "Meme" Hunter, will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Church of Christ with the Rev. Ken Wright officiating.

Interment will be in the Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the David Funeral Home - New Iberia North, which will reopen Monday at 8 a.m.

A native of Texarkana, Ark., and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Norman died at 4:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.

Mrs. Norman enjoyed working with her flowers, sewing, cooking and eating a variety of foods, and entertaining family and friends. She enjoyed country music, her Bible and soap operas.

The joy of her life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was vice president of Norman Fence Co. for more than 34 years.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Norman Sr. of New Iberia; her daughter, Cynthia O'Brian Arthur of New Iberia; three step-daughters, Karen Bourque of Houma, Katherine Bourque of New Iberia and Trudy Rousse of Galliano; step-son, Charles Norman Jr. of New Iberia; grandson, Heath Arthur of West Monroe; two granddaughters, Nicole Bagnaud of Cypremort Point and Tiffany O'Brian of New Iberia; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Emmett H. Hunter; mother, Elma Redfern Hunter; son, Orien Dalton O'Brian; brother, Clifford Norman Hunter; and sister, Katrina Hunter.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Bourque, Gary Green, Johnny Green, Mark Rousse, Alvin Tefteller, and Myron Rousse.

Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Arthur, Robert Arthur, Nicky Begnaud, Elwood Bourque Sr., David Howard, Don Howard, Cecil Norman, Chris Norman and Harold Norman.

The David Funeral Home - New Iberia North is in charge of arrangements.

Odo Blanchet

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services are pending for Odo Blanchet, 78, who died at 5:30 a.m. today, Feb. 28, 2000, at his residence.

Evangeline Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond A. Greig

Services for Raymond August Greig, 85, will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Albert Boumans officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home North, which will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of St. Martinville and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Greig died at 6:16 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Greig was the owner and operator of Greig's West Main Grocery. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 13 1/2 years and for McCoulough/Humble and Lane Wells for 6 1/2 years. He was a deputy sheriff for 9 1/2 years with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office and also worked part time for the Iberia Parish Assessor's Office for 28 years.

He is survived by two sons, James Kenneth Greig, and his wife, Michelle, and John Raymond Greig, all of New Iberia; one daughter, Latrelle LaSalle, and her husband, Edward "Rock," of New Iberia; two sisters, Ms. Alice Greig and Mrs. Frank "Lily Mae" Greig Stovall, both of St. Martinville; one grandson, Gordan Greig of New Iberia; and five granddaughters, Carrie Leigh, Cathryn M. and Christen C. Greig, and Mrs. Barry "Gigi" Segura, all of New Iberia, and Mrs. Greg Courtney G. Hamilton of Lafayette.

Mr. Greig was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Lee "Kitty" Broussard Greig; his parents, Albert and Aurelie Maraist Greig; one brother, Elmo Greig; and three sisters, Mrs. Elmo "Inez" Barras, Sylvia Greig and Mrs. K.D. "Hilda" Moers.

Pallbearers will be David Duplantis, Gregg Hamilton, Edward "Rock" LaSalle, Roland Romero, Barry Segura and Gordan Greig.

Honorary pallbearers will be Elton Barras, Julius and Roland Broussard, Stephen Dartez, Billy Duplantis and Mark Wayne Gagnard.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, P.O. Box 3467, Lafayette, La. 70502.

Jimmie P. LeBoeuf

Loving father and grandfather

HOUMA - Services for Jimmie Paul LeBoeuf, 76, will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be Terrebonne Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Montegut and a resident of Houma, Mr. LeBoeuf died at 3:37 a.m. today, Feb. 28, 2000.

Mr. LeBoeuf was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a retired tugboat owner and operator. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, Seamen 1st Class on board USS Sangamon during World War II and was a member of the Woodmen of the World.

Mr. LeBoeuf is survived by his devoted longtime companion, Maxine Walters of Houma; two sons, Charles LeBoeuf of New Iberia, and Kenneth LeBoeuf of Vacherie; his stepson, Steven Walters of Houma; three daughters, Lois Voisin of Houma, and Lorraine Eschete and Juanita Thorton, both of Montegut; his stepdaughter, Marion Long of Bayou Blue; two sisters, Nita LeBoeuf Morales and Allie LeBoeuf Cuneo, both of Houma; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Mr. LeBoeuf was preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise Hebert LeBoeuf; three brothers, Willard, Wallace and Irvin LeBoeuf; and four sisters, Mabel Dupre, Vallie and Lottie Crochet, and Flossie Campo.

Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.

Services are pending for Newton T. Pharr, 75, who died at 11:37 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at a New Iberia Nursing Home.

Wilson J. Broussard

Services for Wilson Joseph Broussard, 81, will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at David Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Guidry officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, Trotter St., which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Broussard died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, in Jeanerette.

Mr. Broussard was a pipe fitter and had retired from Texaco after 29 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.

He is survived by his son, Craig Michael Broussard of Beaumont, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Broussard was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Hebert Broussard; and his parents, Octta and Olita Leblanc Broussard.

David Funeral Home, Trotter St., of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Milton A. Colgin

Services for Milton Anthony Colgin, 94, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Colgin died at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Maison Teche Nursing Center in Jeanerette.

Mr. Colgin was a painter.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Hill Colgin of Jeanerette; his stepson, John Lee Hill of Baton Rouge; two step-grandsons, Charles Hill of Baton Rouge, and John M. Hill of Gonzales; his step-granddaughter, Beverly Hill Henry of Metairie; two sisters, Celina Colgin Bille and Louise Colgin Vuillemot, both of New Iberia; three grandsons, Keith LePage of Athens, Ga., Brian LePage of Raleigh, N.C., and Scott LePage of Charlotte, N.C.; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Colgin was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Bernard Colgin; his daughter, Joyrita Colgin LePage; four brothers, Earl, George J., Howard and Richard Colgin; and his first wife, Madeline Molbert.

Pallbearers were Keith, Scott and Brian LePage, Harry Bille, Joey and Sidney Schexnayder, and Bill Verret.

David Funeral Home, Iberia St., was in charge of arrangements.

Ceola Mitchell

Services are pending for Ceola Mitchell, 90, who died at 5:20 a.m. today, Feb. 29, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Ms. Mitchell was a native of New Iberia and a lifelong resident of Jennings.

Cory J. Boudreaux

Beloved son and brother

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Cory "Cas" Joseph Boudreaux, 24, will begin at 1 p.m. today at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Michael cemetery.

Visitation will be until the time of services today at Pellerin Funeral Home.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Boudreaux died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000.

Mr. Boudreaux was a member of the Jaycees.

He is survived by his mother, Juanita S. Boudreaux of St. Martinville; two sisters, Tonia Lancon and Beth Broussard, both of St. Martinville; and his grandmother, Mrs. Helen T. Segura of New Iberia.

Mr. Boudreaux was preceded in death by his father, Leonce "Cas" Boudreaux Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Leonce Boudreaux Sr. and Mable Duplantis Boudreaux; and his maternal grandfather, Sidney Segura.

Pallbearers will be friends.

Ann "Cissy" Griffing

Loving mother and grandmother

YOUNGSVILLE - Memorial services for Ann "Cissy" Griffing, 70, will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 105 Parkwood Ave. with Brother Richard Pitre officiating.

A native of Jackson, Miss., and a resident of Erath, Mrs. Griffing died at 7:36 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at the Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana.

Mrs. Griffing was a retired licensed practical nurse and was a member of the Youngsville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She is survived by her husband, Rutherford "Ruff" Griffing of Brownsville, Miss.; three daughters, Sherry Ann Landry of New Iberia, Mary Arnella Griffing of Erath, and Betsy Sue Keith of Luling; one daughter-in-law, Terry Ann Green of Erath; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Griffing was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alma Comfort Mullen; and one brother, Robert Louis Mullen.

Beatrice C. Myers

JEANERETTE - Services are pending for Beatrice Champagne Myers, 71, who died at 8:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Idi A. Rogers

Loving son

Services for Idi Amin Rogers, 22, will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Francis Davis officiating. Interment will be in St. Matthew cemetery Thursday after an 11 a.m. dismissal service from the funeral home.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home, which will reopen Thursday at 7:30 a.m.

A native of Port Arthur, Texas, and a resident of Houston for two years, Mr. Rogers died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, in Houston.

Mr. Rogers was a student at Texas Southern University in Houston.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Rachel Preston; a special friend, Latrice Anthony; his parents, Gilbert and Sandy Vitatoe Rogers; his stepfather, Errol Ray Pollard; one brother, Adrien Pollard; one sister, Angel Rogers; his grandmothers, Louvenia Benjamin and Julia Vitatoe; and his special great-grandmother, Lilly M. Vitatoe.

Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by Harold Vitatoe Sr., Ceasar Benjamin, Fannie Rogers, Norris Rogers Sr. and Harold Vitatoe Jr.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Sliman died at 7:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Consolata Nursing Home.
