Loving mother and grandmother

Services for Mary Marjorie Boutte, 87, the former Mary Marjorie Olivier, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Alvin Dixon officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen Saturday from 7 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of New Orleans, Mrs. Boutte died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She is survived by six sons, Chester James Boutte Jr., Joseph Brindley Boutte, Peter Clyde Boutte Sr., Paul Dwight Boutte and Jude Kern Boutte Sr., all of New Orleans, and Edward Malcolm Boutte of Akron, Ohio; seven daughters, Anne Lorraine Pradier, Katherine Loretta Brinner and Mary Claudette Jackson, all of New Orleans, Agnes Carol Shello, Theresa Brenda Walker and Rita Arlene Jolivet, all of Houston, and Elizabeth Sharon Drexler of Franklin; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Boutte was preceded in death by her husband, Chester James Boutte Sr.; her parents, Bertrand and Marie Jeanne Olivier; her son, John Kinwood Boutte; her brother, Lawrence Bertrand Olivier; and two sisters, Mabel Decuir and Myrtle Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Chester James Boutte Jr., Joseph Brindley Boutte, Peter Clyde Boutte Sr., Paul Dwight Boutte, Jude Kern Boutte Sr. and Edward Malcolm Boutte.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sherman Paul Pradier, Wendell Shello, Todd, Michael, David and Trevor Boutte, and Freddie Charles Brimmer Jr.

Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Nicholas O. Boudreaux

Loving husband and father

COTEAU - Services for Nicholas Overton Boudreaux, 80, will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Higginbotham officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1982 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 2-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Abbeville and a resident of Coteau, Mr. Boudreaux died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at a New Iberia nursing home.

Mr. Boudreaux was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was employed by Diamond Crystal Salt Co. for 22 years and then Morton Salt Co. at Week Island for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Inez LeBlanc Boudreaux of Coteau; one son, Steve Boudreaux of Broussard; three daughters, Joyce Boudreaux Belaire of New Iberia, Cheri Boudreaux Fitzgerald of Vero Beach, Fla., and Lyndra Boudreaux Marcil of Youngsville; one brother, Milton J. Boudreaux of Torrance, Calif.; one sister, Sevia Monterio of San Diego; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Boudreaux was preceded in death by his parents, Clobule and Ida Boudoin Boudreaux; one son, Nicholas Overton Boudreaux Jr.; five brothers, Paul, Joseph, Napoleon, J.B. and Duke Boudreaux; and two sisters, Edia Desormeaux and Avia Boudreaux.

Pallbearers will be Louis W. Belaire, Steve Boudreaux, Steve Boudreaux II, Douglas S. Belaire, Randy P. Dugas and Randy S. Marcil.

Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Mindy S. Lewis

HARVEY - Services for Mindy Lewis, 22, the former Mindy Dawn Sanderson, were held Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Mothe Funeral Home. Interment was held in Westlawn Memorial Park.

A native of Algiers and a resident of Rancho San Diego, Calif., for the past three years, Lewis died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, of respiratory failure in California.

Mrs. Lewis was a paralegal and a graduate of Archbishop Hannan High School.

She is survived by her husband, Matthew Shawn Lewis; her father, Jimmie Wayne Sanderson Sr.; two brothers, Jimmie Wayne Sanderson Jr. and Dennis Dale Aucoin; one sister, Misty Christin Aucoin; and her grandparents, Alline "Genny" Martin and Edna Sanderson.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her mother, Kathy Aucoin.

Mothe Funeral Home of Harvey was in charge of arrangements.

Services are pending for Daniel Rivet, 48, who died at 9:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Heritage Manor North Nursing Home.

ABBEVILLE - Services are pending for Jennie Williams, 75, who died at 7:27 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Abbeville General Hospital.

Alfred C. Thibeaux

Loving father and brother

PLANTATION, Fla. - Services for Alfred Camille Thibeaux, 80, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Gregory's the Great Catholic Church.

A native of Jeanerette and a resident of Plantation, Fla., Mr. Thibeaux died surrounded at his home by loved ones on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000.

Mr. Thibeaux was born on July 11, 1919, in Jeanerette, and was one of 12 siblings. In 1942, he graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, then served in the Navy during World War II as a lieutenant commander. After the war, he received his master's degree in foreign affairs from Thunderbird University in Arizona.

In 1950, he moved to Cuba where he worked for First National Bank of Boston and met and married the love of his life, Virginia Palicio. He was greatly admired and well known for his integrity in the Cuban and American banking community. After the overthrow of the Cuban government, he and his family lived briefly in Boston and relocated to south Florida in 1968.

Upon his retirement in 1993, Mr. Thibeaux began making stained glass Tiffany lamp reproductions. Although originally intended as a hobby, his lamps became treasured possessions to all who received them. Mr. Thibeaux will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

He is survived by three brothers, Simeon, Paul and Bernard Thibeaux; four sisters, Sister Mary Madeleine, Mrs. Rose Fortier, Sister Mary Celeste and Mrs. Marcelle Olivier; seven children, Marie Celeste Thibeaux Ellis, and her husband, Richard Ellis, James L. Thibeaux, Marie Louise "Luli" Thibeaux Schram, and her husband, Andrew Schram, Marie Virginia Thibeaux, and her partner, Ann Towler, Alfredo K. Thibeaux, Thomas E. Thibeaux, and his wife, Ronda Crofoot, and Philip A. Thibeaux; eight loving grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Association (Lou Gehrig's Disease), 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 150, Calabasas Hills, Calif. 91301-5104.

Lois P. Bonin

Loving mother and grandmother

Services for Mrs. Voorhies Bonin Jr., 82, the former Lois Pullen, will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harlan R. Gott officiating. Interment will be in Rosehill cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Melville and a resident of New Iberia for 55 years, Mrs. Bonin died at 9:53 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at a New Iberia hospital.

Mrs. Bonin was a member of the Pink Ladies at Iberia Medical Center, and a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Wesleyan Service Guild.

She is survived by three sons, Perry A. Bonin, and his wife, Gale Theriot Bonin, and Charles D. Bonin, and his wife, Faye Romero Bonin, all of New Iberia, and Gene Bonin of Franklinton; three sisters, Julia P. Richard, Gladys Oakley and Lucille Duloche, all of Baton Rouge; her sister-in-law, Neva Pullen of Opelousas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bonin was preceded in death by her husband, Voorhies Bonin Jr.; her parents, John David and Maude Brooks Pullen; and her brother, Wade Pullen.

Pallbearers will be Charles, Gene, Perry, Brad, Troy and Andy Bonin.

John Donohue Sr.

Loving husband and father

ABBEVILLE - Services for John P. Donohue Sr., 75, will begin at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Theriot officiating. Interment will be in the old Catholic cemetery in Abbeville.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday at Vincent Funeral Home.

A resident of Abbeville, Mr. Donohue died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Donohue was past president of the Kiwanis Club and the National Alligator Association, president and CEO of Vermilion Corp. and a member of K. of C. Council 2281. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a graduate of Southwestern Louisiana Institute with a degree in accounting. He was instrumental in starting the Abbeville Minor League Youth Baseball program.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Elise Lege Donohue; four sons, John P. Donohue Jr. of Houma, Patrick L. Donohue of Abbeville, Daniel J. Donohue of Lafayette, and James C. Donohue of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Patricia D. McIntyre of Hammond, Elizabeth D. Gary of Palm Beach, Fla., and Elise D. Kuhn of Jupiter, Fla.; one brother, Robert M. Donohue of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Donohue was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel L. and Anita Paul Donohue; and his brother, Leonard J. Donohue.

Pallbearers will be Daniel J., James C. and Patrick L. Donohue, John P. Donohue III, John P. Donohue Jr., Patrick Donohue Jr. and Reggie McIntyre Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vermilion Catholic High School in Mr. Donohue's name.

Berwick Peters

ABBEVILLE - Services for Berwick Peters, 51, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Theresa Catholic Church with the Rev. Greg Simien officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen Saturday from 7 a.m. until the time of services.

A resident of Abbeville for many years, Mr. Peters died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Abbeville General Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Peters attended J.A. Herod High School, where he won a scholarship in athletics. He attended Southern University for three years and worked for the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Department until his illness. He also was a former member of the Knights of Peter Claver Council 77 of Abbeville.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce B. Peters of Abbeville; five sons, Rodrick and Chadwick Peters and Richard Earl and Kevin Smith, all of Houston, and Dreyon Levine of Abbeville; one daughter, Cinceria D. Peters of Abbeville; two brothers, Hamilton Peters of Abbeville, and Norris Peters Jr. of College Station, Texas; four sisters, Mary Mae Campbell and Lydia P. Chandler, both of Houston, and Audrey and Carmelita Peters, both of Abbeville; one aunt, Cambric Milton of Abbeville; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his parents, Norris and Emelda D. Peters Sr.; and one sister, Margaret J. Campbell.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Spates, Joseph Burney, Lloyd Huntley, James Evans Jr., Cleveland Joiner and Edward Guillory.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hamilton and Norris Peters Jr., Lloyd Campbell Jr., Jeff Brisby, Richard E. Smith Jr. and Herman Huntsberry.

Eva Delle Benoit

Loving mother

CARENCRO - Services for Mrs. Wavely Benoit, 65, the former Eva Delle Forestier, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Gregory Downs officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary at Melancon Funeral Home, which will reopen Monday from 8 a.m. until service time.

A native of Carencro and longtime resident of the Carencro-Vatican area, Mrs. Benoit died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

She had been employed with Melancon Drug Store for over seven years. Mrs. Benoit was a parishioner of St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, and was a member of the Bonne Mort Society and Ladies Altar Society.

Musical selections will be provided by Julie Broussard accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. Songs will be "Amazing Grace," "Isaiah 49," "Just A Closer Walk With Thee," "One Bread, One Body," and "Take My Hand Precious Lord."

She is survived by three sons, Stanley H. Benoit, and his wife, Eunice, of New Iberia, Keith A. Benoit and his wife, Stephanie, of Erath, and Scott A. Benoit of Carencro; one daughter, Alicia Faye Broussard and her husband, Richard, of St. Martinville; one foster son, Michael Morvant of New Iberia; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; her mother, Leah Dugas Forestier of Carencro; and two sisters, Virgie F. Sonnier of Lafayette and Verna Mae Bearb and her husband, Wess, of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wavely Benoit; and her father, Anasta Forestier.

Pallbearers are her four grandsons, Neal Benoit, Jeffery and Daniel Broussard and Richard Broussard Jr.; and her sons, Stanley and Keith Benoit.

Honorary pallbearers will be her son, Scott Benoit; and her four granddaughters, Rachel, Natalie and Amy Benoit, and Sabrina Broussard.

YOUNGSVILLE - Services are pending for Adam Willis Broussard, 67, at St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment will be in Broussard cemetery in Maurice.

Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home in Broussard, which will remain open all night.

A native of Lafayette Parish and a resident of Lafayette, Mr. Broussard died at 5:45 a.m. today, Jan. 25, 2000, at his residence.

Philip D. Signorelli

Loving father

LAFAYETTE - Memorial services for Philip D. Signorelli, 63, will begin at 3 p.m. today at St. Pius X Church. His body is being donated to science.

A native of St. Martinville and a resident of Lafayette for the past 36 years, Mr. Signorelli died at 8:55 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at his residence.

He is survived by his loving companion, Helen M. Johnson of Lafayette; his daughter, Tanya Signorelli Broussard, and her husband, Ricky, and their children, Jamie, Keri and Andre Broussard, all of Judice; four sons, Brian Signorelli, and his wife, Catherine, and their son, Cody, all of Gretna, Keith Signorelli, and his wife, Janie, and their daughter, Laura, all of Sunset, Byron Signorelli of Lafayette, Glenn Signorelli, and his wife, Lori, and their sons, Tyler and Zachary, all of Houston; his brother, Henry P. "Buddy" Signorelli of St. Martinville; and his sister, Nancy Signorelli of St. Martinville.

Mr. Signorelli was preceded in death by his parents, Henry J. and Bernice Thomas Signorelli; and his brother, Kenneth J. Signorelli, all natives of St. Martinville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mr. Signorelli's name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafayette, La. 70503.

Cora A. Plaisance

Services for Cora Plaisance, 86, the former Cora Adorato, will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Ken Waguespack officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services. A recitation of the rosary will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A native of Abbeville and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Plaisance died at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Consolata Nursing Home.

Mrs. Plaisance enjoyed watching television and sewing. She was a marvelous cook.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley P. Derise of Jeanerette; one sister, Antoinette "Netta" Broussard of Lafayette; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Plaisance was preceded in death by her husband, Sanders Plaisance; her parents, Joseph and Stella Garbo Adorato; one brother, Dominic Adorato; and four sisters, Margaret Cook, Philomena Cuccio, Rose Cutrone and Mary Sandel.
