ST. MARTINVILLE - Services are pending for Mrs. Raymond E. Scherz, 78, the former Chesley Chauvin, who died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000 at 3:05 p.m. in a Lafayette hospital.

Anna A. Derise

Housewife

JEANERETTE - Services for Mrs. Joseph Derise, the former Anna Aucoin, 73, will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Cosgrove officiating.

Interment will be in St. John cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today and continue until the time of services Monday at David Funeral Home. The funeral home will remain open all night on Sunday.

A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Jeanerette, she died at 6:28 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center.

She was a housewife. She was an employee of Tony's Cafe in Jeanerette for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Derise of Jeanerette, two sons, Russell Derise of Coteau and Dewey Derise Jr. of New Iberia, one daughter, Shirley Mickel of Jeanerette, four brothers, Andrew Aucoin of Jeanerette, Earl Aucoin of Baton Rouge, Gus Aucoin of St. Martinville and Hubert Aucoin of Cut Off, three sisters, Mrs. Early (Ruth) Boudreaux of Coteau Holmes, Mrs. Oswald (Gertrude) Broussard of Jeanerette and Mrs. Odile Venerable of Scott, one grandson, Elvis J. Derise of Coteau, three granddaughters, Donna Mickel Darce of Baldwin, Tonya Derise of Lafayette, Annette Derise LeBlanc of Jeanerette and Teresa Mickel of Jeanerette, three great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gustave Aucoin, her mother, Julia Chattagnier Aucoin, one son, Donald Derise, two brothers, Damasca "Moose" Aucoin and Andy Aucoin Sr., one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Alberta) Boudion, and her first husband, Dewey Derise Sr.

Pallbearers will be John Carroll Aucoin, O.J. Broussard, Eric Darce, Dewey Derise Jr., Darren LeBlanc and Billy Mickel. Honorary pallbearers will be Elvis Derise, Gerald Derise, Russell Derise, James Landry and Phillip Tyndall.

The services are under the direction of David Funeral Home of Jeanerette.

Joseph Primeaux Sr.

Farmer

ERATH - Services for Joseph Wildie Primeaux Sr., 82, will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Langlois officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today with a 4 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of Erath, Mr. Primeaux died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at Morris Lahasky Nursing Home in Erath.

Mr. Primeaux was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia Dudoit of Abbeville; six sons, Alvin Primeaux of Erath, Daniel P. and Robert L. Primeaux, both of Cypress, Calif., Donald J. and Norman L. Primeaux, both of Abbeville, and Douglas Primeaux of Tennessee; one daughter, Margaret Primeaux Broussard of Lydia; two brothers, Pierre Dalton Primeaux of Merdan, Kan., and Wilmer Primeaux of New Iberia; four sisters, Mrs. Oles (Lula) Hulin of Port Arthur, Texas, Mrs. Percy (Inez) Palombo of Abbeville, and Mrs. Andrew (Nelis) Richard and Mrs. Edmar (Loula) Viator, both of Erath ; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Primeaux was preceded in death by his parents, Clodie and Edolie Broussard Primeaux; one son, Wildie Primeaux Jr.; three brothers, Autley, Clarence and Gordy Primeaux; four sisters, Ellia Delahoussaye, Elus Hebert, Jusselle Miguez and Dilta Romero; and three infant sons.

Pallbearers will be Shane Palombo, Brian, Chris, Clint, Jamian and Shawn Primeaux.

David Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.

David Viltz

Devoted husband, father

Services for David Viltz, 42, will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Sebastian Myladiyil officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home, which will reopen Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Viltz died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Viltz was employed by Cargill Salt Co. of Avery Island for 21 years.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Keal Viltz of New Iberia; two stepsons, Markus and Derrick Keal, both of New Iberia; one daughter, Carissa D. Viltz of New Iberia; four brothers, Leroy and Rodney Viltz, both of New Iberia, Randy Viltz Jr. of San Diego, Calif., and Raymond Viltz of Lafayette; one sister, Denise Viltz Taylor of New Iberia; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Viltz was preceded in death by his parents, William and Madeline Viltz; his paternal grandparents, Wilbert and Louise Viltz; and his maternal grandparents, Gabriel Brook and Lorenza Sheppard.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Daniel W. Rivette

Loving father and son

Graveside services for Daniel Wayne Rivette, 48, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Mark Derise officiating.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Rivette died at a local nursing home at 9:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000.

Mr. Rivette was a former employee with Omega Industries in New Iberia.

He is survived by his mother, Enola Buteaux Rivette of New Iberia; five sons, Dennis, Dody, Josh and Shane Rivette, and Peter Derouen, all of New Iberia; one daughter, Amy Latiolais of New Iberia; three brothers, Fulton and Francis Rivette, and Dewey LaGrange, all of New Iberia; two sisters, JoAnn Miller of Mandeville, and Helen Gary of New Iberia; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Rivette was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Rivette; and his brother, Carroll "Red" Rivette.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to help defray funeral expenses.

Jeanne D. LeBlanc

Loving mother

DELCAMBRE - Services for Mrs. Emmick Matthew LeBlanc, 85, the former Jeanne "Pete" Delcambre, will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Voorhies officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today with an 8 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of Delcambre, Mrs. LeBlanc died at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at a New Iberia nursing home.

Mrs. LeBlanc was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and choir and the St. Ann Altar Society.

She is survived by two sons, Larry J. and Edwin L. LeBlanc, both of Delcambre; one sister, Yvonne Tong of Lafayette; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. LeBlanc was preceded in death by her husband, Emmick Matthew LeBlanc; her parents, Wilfred and Anaise Vincent Delcambre; one daughter, Donna LeBlanc Dooley; and one sister, Velva Trahan.

Pallbearers will be Mike, Randy, Kyle and Ben LeBlanc, Dale Dooley II, Russell Broussard and Jake Duhon.

Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre is in charge of arrangements.

Jasper "Lou" Cuccio

Retired Postal Worker

Services for Jasper "Lou" Cuccio, 67, will began at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Steven Leblanc officiating. Interment will we in the Memorial Park Mausloleum in New Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. rosary at the David Funeral Home of New Iberia, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Cuccio died at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at his residence in New Iberia.

Mr. Cuccio enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, raising animals, watching football and boxing. He enjoyed hearing Linda Freyou sing and liked listening to Elvis. His favorite hymn was Avia Maria. He liked actors Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson - one of his favorite movies was "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly." A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he retired from the postal service after 35 years of service. He once received the carrier of the year award from the Postal Service. He was a former member of the New Iberia Jaycees and a member of VFW Post 1982, which will be doing the military honors.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Guilbeaux Cuccio of New Iberia; mother, Josephine Rosetta Cuccio of New Iberia; two daughters, Tulli Cuccio of New Iberia and Tara Cuccio Stacy of Birmingham, Ala.; two sons, Todd Cuccio of New Iberia and Tracy Cuccio of New Iberia; four brothers, Frank Cuccio, John Cuccio, Sam Cuccio and Jospeh Cuccio Jr., all of New Iberia; one sister, Catherine Primeaux of New Iberia; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Cuccio Sr.

Pallbearers are Frank Cuccio, John Cuccio, Sam Cuccio, Todd Cuccio, Joe Cuccio Jr., and Gordy "Pete" Guilbeau.

Honorary pallbearers are Fred Davis, Sybil Davis, Willard Guilbeau, John C. Guilbeaux, Gail Johnson, Merline Latolais, Jerry Latolais, Poochie Richard and Andy Soileau.

Services are pending for Steve Joseph Gerard, 42, who died at 11:18 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center.

Presley P. Decou

MILTON - Services for Presley Paul Decou, 79, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

Visitation will be held until the time of services Thursday with a 6:30 p.m. rosary tonight at David Funeral Home in Broussard, which will remain open all night.

A native of Lafayette Parish and a resident of Milton, Mr. Decou died at 11:13 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Roy Pitts

Loving father

Roy Pitts, 80, died at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at his New Iberia residence.

A native of Jetmore, Kan., and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Pitts was a member of the Hoedowner Square Dancers.

He is survived by one son, Michael Pitts of New Iberia; five brothers, Carl Pitts of Mountain Home, Ark., Charles, Orrin and Forrest Pitts, all of Hutchinson, Kan., and Lloyd Pitts of Franklin; and a sister, Cleo Loesch of Booker, Texas.

Mr. Pitts was preceded in death by his wife, Lora McCord Pitts; his parents, Charles and Sarah Frierkson Pitts; a son, James Leroy Pitts; and a daughter, Nancy Pitts.

Mark J. Bonin

Services are pending for Mark Jesse Bonin, 35, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Bonin died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Cordelia F. Martin

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Cordelia "Cordy" Francoise Martin, 39, will begin at 1 p.m. today at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with the Rev. Austin Leger officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's cemetery.

Visitation will be until the time of services today at Evangeline Funeral Home.

A native and resident of St. Martinville, Miss Martin died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at a Lafayette hospital.

She is survived by one brother, Melton Martin of St. Martinville; two sisters, Cri-Cri Watson of St. Louis, Mo., and Erskine Katz of Tunleridge Wells, England; one niece, Dorothy Martin; and one nephew, Tyler Watson.

Miss Martin was preceded in death by her parents, Emile Raoul Martin Jr. and Dorothy Gaudin Martin.

Pallbearers will be Scott Pharr, Lewis Pitman, Blaine L. and Brad Broussard, Paul Standridge and Dale Laporte.

Honorary pallbearer will be Larry "Duppy" Duplantis Jr.

Services for Mrs. Ollie Fontenette, 57, the former Ollie Randall, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in St. Matthew cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home, which will reopen Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Fontenette died at 10:25 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Fontenette was a retired Iberia Medical Center dietary aid.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Fontenette Jr. of New Iberia; her son, Walter Scottie Randall of New Iberia; two stepsons, Corey Fontenette of Beaumont, Texas, and Roy Fontenette III of New Iberia; two daughters, Lisa Shell of Washington, D.C., and Lana Randall of New Iberia; three stepdaughters, Sherril Fontenette of Austin, Texas, Kimberly Edwards of Arlington, Texas, and Brandy Fontenette of New Iberia; and two grandchildren, Devin Vitto and Brittney Morse, both of New Iberia.

Mrs. Fontenette was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Randall and Bertha Williams; one daughter, Dana Michelle Randall; and her paternal grandparents, Louis and Louise Randall.

Pallbearers will be Roland Brown, Gerald Durall, Terrel Smith, Kenneth Edwards, Christopher Anthony and Dedrick Armstead.
