CATAHOULA - Services are pending for Sonja Ann Blanchard, 58, who died at 11:43 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at a Shreveport hospital.
Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. today at Dion Hall and will continue until the time of services Saturday. There will be a 7 p.m. rosary tonight and Friday night at Dion Hall.

BROUSSARD - Services for Frederick A. "Freddy Jr." Gabourel, 23, will begin at 6 p.m. today in the chapel of David Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Utila Bay Island, Honduras and resident of Broussard, Mr. Gabourel died at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Services for Mrs. Homer Broussard, 79, the former Gwinnie McDonald, will begin at 2:30 p.m. today at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Herman Barsens officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation will be until the time of services today at David Funeral Home.
A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Broussard died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Mrs. Broussard was a homemaker and was an avid reader. She loved game shows, cooking, and caring for her family, friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Broussard of New Iberia; four brothers, Allen McDonald, and his wife, Sippie, Henry McDonald, and his wife, Dorothy, J.B. McDonald Jr., and his wife, Rita, and Kermit McDonald Sr., and his wife, Ruby, all of New Iberia; her sister, Catherine Darcey, and her husband, Donald, of New Iberia; and six nieces, Colleen M. Bayard, Maxine M. Boudreaux, Tina M. Broussard, Denise D. Hebert, Marie M. Menard and Donna M. Snoddy, all of New Iberia.
Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Berwick McDonald Sr. and Ora Bailleaux McDonald.
Pallbearers will be Brent, Jude, Mark, Michael, Neal and Kermit McDonald Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Darcey and Phillip Nunez.

Dedicated family man
Services Ledia "Sulu" J. Viator, 72, will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Marcellus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Conley Bertrand officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum in New Iberia.
Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home - New Iberia North, which will reopen at 10 a.m. Monday.
A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Viator at 4:35 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.
Mr. Viator retired as payload operator for Akzo Salt Company after 45 years of employment there. He was a thoroughbred racehorse owner and trainer. He was an avid lover of french music and performed in a french music band.
He is survived by his wife, Una Marie Babin Viator of New Iberia; his daughter, Linda Viator Guilbeau of New Iberia; sister, Lydia LeBlanc of New Iberia; brother, Paul Viator of New Iberia; three grandsons, Barrett Guilbeau of New Iberia, Brady Guilbeau of New Iberia and Brennon Guilbeau of New Iberia; one granddaughter, Brandi Guilbeau of New Iberia; one granddaughter-in-law, Melissa Blair Guilbeau of New Iberia; and a son-in-law, Willard Guilbeau of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rene Viator; mother, Elia Viator Viator; three sisters, Eda Babin, Edia Dore and Alida Trahan; and one brother, Edias "T-Man" Viator.
Pallbearers will be Leroy Babin, Roy Babin Jr., Barrett Guilbeau, Brady Guilbeau, Brennon Guilbeau and Willard Guilbeau.
Honorary pallbearers will be Merrill Babin, Raymond Babin, Lydia LeBlanc and Paul Viator.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today with an 8 p.m. wake service at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen Saturday from 7 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
A resident of New Iberia, Ms. Butler died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Dauterive Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Ms. Butler was a member of Zion Travelers Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir for many years. She also was a member of the Star Spangled Banner Society of Olivier.
She is survived by her son, Willie "Sonny" Butler of New Iberia; her brother, Alvin Butler of New Iberia; her sister, Ethel Findley of Vallejo, Calif.; five grandchildren, Mary Sigure, Veronica Butler, Holly Sheppard, Chantilla Dorsey and Leonard White, all of New Iberia; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Ms. Butler was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Orelia Hector Butler; her brother, Leonard Butler; and three sisters, Susie Lee and Lunetta Butler, and Elnora B. Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Robert Butler Jr., Bashonnon Butler, Murray Sheppard, John St. Julien, Jerry Narcisse Sr. and Chad Bell.

Services for Mrs. Felix Couvillier, 68, the former Gertie Romero, will begin at noon Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Mrs. Couvillier died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Antoine Maxie Comeaux

Services for Antoine Maxie Comeax, 75, will begin at 2 p.m. today at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sebastian Mylediyil officiating.
Interment will be in Holy Family cemetery.
Visitation began at 4 p.m. Friday with a rosary at 7 p.m. and continued until 10 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. today and remain open until the time of services.
A native and resident of New Iberia, he died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at a local hospital.
Mr. Comeaux was a graduate of the Louisiana School for the Deaf in Baton Rouge. He was a retired employee of the city of New Iberia at city park in grounds maintenance.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Toucheque Comeaux of New Iberia, three sons, Mickey Comeaux of Lafayette, Howard Comeaux of New Iberia and Wesley Comeaux of New Iberia, two daughters, Maxine C. Tauzin of St. Martinville and Nancy C. Norman of Kansas City, Mo., two brothers, Kelly Comeaux and Alton Comeaux, both of New Iberia, eight sisters, Clara C. Bergeron of Lydia, Marlene C. Rials of Pine Prairie, Virginia C. Ronsonet of Baldwin, Janel C. Abshire of Abbeville, Ramona C. Plaisance of Lockport, Leola C. Delahoussaye of New Iberia, Melba C. Logue of Sulphur and Anna C. Lorraine of New Iberia, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eno and Sophie LeBlanc Comeaux.

A resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Williams died at 7:27 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Abbeville General Hospital following a brief illness.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Williams of Abbeville; her stepfather, Alton Landry of Abbeville; two sisters, Stella Shellow of Houston, and Eva Collins of Abbeville; her brother-in-law, Mandress Shellow of Houston; a devoted aunt and uncle, Herd and Anna Belle Shelvin of Abbeville; seven nephews; one niece; 13 great nephews; and 13 great nieces.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mabel Goodie Williams; and her sister, Pearl W. Davenport.

A native of Delcambre and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Boudreaux died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at IHS of Heritage North.
Mrs. Boudreaux was a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Wilbert (Melba) Gary of New Iberia; two grandsons, Jan Gary of Worcester, Mass., and Lenny Gary of Houston; and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Boudreaux was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson J. Boudreaux; her parents, Eugena and Rosina Perez Vincent; five sisters; and four brothers.

Beloved father and grandfather
COTEAU - Services for Willis "Pop" Reaux, 75, will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Higginbotham officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post No. 1982.
Visitation will be from 4:30-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David and Jacquemoud Funeral Home in New Iberia, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Reaux died at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Maison Teche Nursing Center in Jeanerette.
Mr. Reaux was a carpenter and a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Rickey and Lloyd Reaux Sr., both of New Iberia; two daughters, Alice and Rita Reaux, both of New Iberia; his companion, Rose Reaux of New Iberia; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Reaux was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Meaux Reaux; his parents, Marcellin and Alice Romero Reaux; three brothers, Willia, Willie and Wiltz Reaux; and three sisters, Delia Bourque, Ellen Reaux and Aline Rouley.
