Hiram A. Hebert
MILTON - Services for Hiram Andrew "T-Rouge" Hebert, 69, will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Keith LaBove officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today with a 7:30 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home in Broussard, which will reopen Friday from 8-10:45 a.m.
A native of Milton and a resident of Maurice, Mr. Hebert died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at Maison de Lafayette in Lafayette.
Mr. Hebert worked at Monies Lumber Yard as a carpenter for more than 20 years and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Later in life, he became co-owner of Jerry's Riverside Inn in Milton.
He is survived by his stepson, Ronald Armentor, and his wife, Cindy, of Duson; his stepdaughter, Sue Dartez, and her husband, Henry, of Carencro; his son, Darrell J. Hebert of Scott; three sisters, Aline Dubois of Milton, Jeanne Higgins, and her husband, Carrol, of Port Neches, Texas, and Leona "Lee" Young, and her husband, Earl, of Lafayette; four step-grandchildren, Rachel Armentor of Cankton, and Byron, Chad and Chris Dartez, all of Youngsville; a special friend, Grace Creduer of Youngsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hebert was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Andrew and Edna H. Hebert; four brothers, Albert "Bero," Alton, John and Moise Hebert; and two sisters, Nola Armentor and Elda Touchet.
Pallbearers will be Byron, Chad and Chris Dartez, Darrell Hebert, Kevin Leblanc and Earl Young.

A native of Loreauville and a resident of Patterson for 40 years, Mrs. Verdun died at 8:35 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2000, at a local hospital following a brief illness.
She is survived by two sisters, Mabel Jules of New Iberia, and Margarite Jones of Port Arthur, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Verdun was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Verdun; her parents, Ford Jules and Emily Antoine; her stepmother, Lucille Celestine; and two sisters, Alvinia Jules and Odele Garner.

Baby Marcus died Saturday, July 22, 2000 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

A native of Lafayette, Tatyana died at 2:05 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2000, at Women's and Children's Hospital in Lafayette following a brief illness.
She is survived by her mother, Kenyatta Ann Ledet of New Iberia; her father, Carlos Herbert of New Iberia; her maternal grandparents, Sarah and John Ledet Jr. of New Iberia; her paternal grandmother, Wendy Latigue of New Iberia; her maternal great-grandmother, Ollie Garrett of New Iberia; and her paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Smothers of New Iberia.
Tatyana was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Esaw Herbert.

A native of Jeanerette and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Crochet died at 12:22 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2000, at a New Iberia hospital.
He is survived by two brothers, Henry and Charles Crochet, both of New Iberia; one sister, Kathryn C. White of New Iberia; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Crochet was preceded in death by his parents, Eude "EJ" and Winnie Thibodeaux Crochet.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of Syracuse, N.Y., for many years, Mr. Corsey died Monday, July 31, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Corsey was a member of Central Baptist Church, the Pan-African Business Association and the jail ministry.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Corsey of Syracuse, N.Y.; his mother, Corella C. Segura of New Iberia; two sons, Irvin Perry and Arien Mitchell, both of Syracuse, N.Y.; one brother, James Corsey of New Iberia; three sisters, Mary Ann and Diane M. Segura, both of New Iberia, and Betty Demouchet of Lydia; a special great aunt and great uncle, as well as other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Corsey was preceded in death by his father, John Segura; and his grandmother, Corella L. Corsey.

MARRERO - Services for Gertrude Adam Maise, 78, were held at 9 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2000, at Mothe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery.
A native of Lafitte and a resident of Westwego for the past 26 years, Mrs. Maise died at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2000.
Mrs. Maise will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Each of her 26 grandchildren placed a red rose, her favorite flower, near her in remembrance. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Daniel Lucio and the staff of West Jefferson Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel Maise Jr. and Bernard Maise Sr.; eight daughters, Heneretta Fuselier, Myra Coulon, and her husband, Paul, Loretta LeBlanc, and her husband, Melroy, Dianna Broussard, and her husband, Sterling, Gloria Maise, Geraldine Coulon, and her husband, Carey, Emelia Daunie, and her husband, Dale, and Joyce Lynn Hogan, and her husband, Lynn; her daughter-in-law, Jean Maise; 26 grandchildren; and 57 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Maise was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel "Chock" Maise Sr.; her son, Randolph "Randy" Maise; her parents, Theodore and Emelia Badeaux Adam; one brother, Randolph Adam; two sisters, Marie Adam and Malvina Brunett; and her son-in-law, Lou Fuselier.

A native of Atchison, Kan., and a resident of Centerville, Mr. Rineholt died at 3 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Rineholt was the former owner of J.C.'s Wire Rope Salvage in New Iberia.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Landry Rineholt of Centerville; two sons, Jimmie Lee Rineholt Jr. of Franklin, and Chris Joseph Rineholt of New Iberia; two daughters, Donna R. Tate of Alvin, Texas, and Tammy R. Franks of Franklin; one brother, David Rineholt of Centerville; three sisters, Mary Dupre of League City, Texas, Norma Jean Garrison of Centerville, Texas, and Margie Borel of Franklin; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rineholt was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hazel Hale Rineholt; two brothers, Freddie and Billy Rineholt; and four sisters, Betty Berkbile, Hazel Tebay, Peggy Hayes and Doris Johnson.

Samuel Bass Jr.
LAFAYETTE - Memorial services for Samuel L. Bass Jr., 66, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at La Chapelle de Martin and Castille with the Rev. Paul Lee officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday from noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
A resident of Walnut Hill, Fla., Mr. Bass died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Bass was born on Aug. 29, 1933, and was the son of the late Sam Bass Sr. and the former Jessie Garner. A graduate of Lake Charles High School, he attended McNeese College and received his degree in petroleum engineering from Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
He owned and operated domestic and international oilfield service companies in addition to his most noted company, Bass Oil, which was acclaimed for stabilizers and diamond bit tools. Mr. Bass devoted 50 years to the oil industry and retired in 1999 as chairman and CEO of ERHC.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Meadows Bass of Walnut Hill, Fla.; his son, Alfred Cotten, and his wife, Pam, of Lafayette; his stepson, Wade Williams, and his wife, Angela, of Walnut Hill, Fla.; his stepdaughter, Wendy Williams Lohr of Walnut Hill, Fla.; four grandchildren, Christina and Erica Bass, Michael Cotten and Bailey Lohr; his step-grandchild, Tiffany Herrington; his sister, Loraine Bass of Beaumont, Texas; and his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lee Samuel (Theresa) Bass.
Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Lee Samuel Bass; and three brothers, George, Tommy and Davide Bass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Bass' name to the American Heart Association, 2500 Johnston St., Lafayette, La. 70503.
