Loving wife and mother

RYNELLA - Services for Mrs. Cornelius Viator Sr., 41, the former Barbara Theriot, will begin at 2 p.m. today at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with the Rev. Conley Bertrand officiating. Interment will be in Broussard cemetery in Bayou Petit Anse.

Visitation will be until the time of services today at David Funeral Home Downtown, Iberia Street of New Iberia.

A native of Lafayette and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Viator died at 7:47 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.

Mrs. Viator was a housekeeper at St. Marcellus Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Cornelius Viator Sr. of New Iberia; her mother, Effie Mire Theriot of New Iberia; her son, Cornelius Viator Jr. of New Iberia; two daughters, Christina and Nichole Viator, both of New Iberia; five brothers, Jessie and Larry Theriot, Martin Theriot Jr. and Ricky Theriot Sr., all of New Iberia, and Terry Theriot of St. Martinville; and two sisters, Sandra T. Benoit and Melissa T. Gary, both of New Iberia.

Mrs. Viator was preceded in death by her father, Martin Theriot Sr.; and her sister, Gail Theriot.

Pallbearers will be Ray Benoit, Alton Gary Jr., Martin Theriot Jr., Ricky Theriot Jr., Ricky Theriot Sr. and Christina Viator.

Honorary pallbearer will be Bob Gary.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Services are pending for Wilbert Fletcher, 88, who died at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2000, at IHS North Nursing Home in New Iberia.

James Dupuy

BROUSSARD - Services are pending for James Dupuy, 73, a Youngsville resident, who died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

BROUSSARD - Memorial services for James Joseph "Jimmy" Dupuy, 73, will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home.

A native of Patterson and a resident of Lafayette, Mr. Dupuy died at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Suzanne Flowers

Loving friend

SHAWNEE, Okla. - Suzanne Flowers, 54, a resident of Shawnee, Okla., died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, in an Oklahoma City hospital.

Mrs. Flowers was a graduate of New Iberia High School. She owned The Cake Walk and was a real estate agent with Century 21 Bob Crothers Realty in Shawnee.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Flowers of Shawnee, Okla.; her son, Steve Flowers of Stillwater, Okla.; her daughter, Pam Flowers of Norman, Okla.; two grandchildren, Lauren and Colton Flowers, both of Stillwater, Okla.; and her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Nancy Romero of Granger, Ind.

Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Thelma Morgan Romero.

Edmond Norris Jr.

Love of my life

Services for Edmond Joseph "Poppie" Norris Jr., 56, will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at David Funeral Home Chapel Downtown, Iberia Street, with the Rev. Zack Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in St. Nicholas cemetery in Patoutville.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Norris died at 11:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, in New Iberia.

Mr. Norris was a maintenance worker at the Country Truck Stop and was a member of Interfaith Fellowship Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanie Gilmore Norris of New Iberia; his stepson, Rhett Barnaby Page of New Iberia; his stepdaughter, Jamie Lynn Raney of Mobile, Ala.; two brothers, David Norris of New Iberia, and Sidney James Norris of Iowa; his step-grandson, Zachary Logan Raney of Mobile, Ala.; his step son-in-law, Brian Chad Raney of Mobile, Ala.; his nephew, Dustin Norris of New Iberia; and two nieces, Alyson and Julie Norris, both of New Iberia.

Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond J. Norris Sr. and Cecile Ozenne Norris.

Douglas Green Sr.

Loving father and husband

JEANERETTE - Services for Douglas B. Green Sr., 68, will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at Alex Lovett Funeral Home with the Rev. Fulton A. Raymond Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Beau Pre cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

A native and resident of Jeanerette for many years, Mr. Green died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at the V.A. Hospital in Alexandria following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Green was a retired barber and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Effie Feist Green of Jeanerette; two sons, Algier "Joey" and Douglas "Danny" Green Jr., both of Jeanerette; one daughter, Kristi Thais Green of Jeanerette; two brothers, Alfred "A.J." and Jack Green Jr., both of Jeanerette; one sister, Barbara G. Martin of Jeanerette; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes Robertson Green and Jack Green Sr.

Pallbearers will be Elijah R. Lewis, Henry Earl Tibbs, Donald Oliver, Warren G. Feast, Larry Heileman and Ivory Spain.

Honorary pallbearers will be Algier, Alfred and Douglas B. Green Jr., Jack Green Jr., Carlton and Jeffery Martin, Alfred Isadore Jones, Willie Conner and Harry Feast.

Alex Lovett Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.

Jason J. White Sr.

CHAUVIN - Services for Jason Joseph White Sr., 32, will be held Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be in Chauvin cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 10 p.m. Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin, which will reopen Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services.

A native of Houma and resident of Delcambre, Mr. White died at 7:55 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2000.

Henrietta L. Langla

Services for Mrs. John J. Langla, 86, the former Henrietta LeBlanc, will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Evangeline Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Guidry officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

A native of Erath and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Langla died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at a New Iberia hospital.

She is survived by her son, Calvin Langla of New Iberia; five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Langla was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Langla; her parents, Placide and Helen Sonnier LeBlanc; three brothers, C.J., Ulysse and Clerphy J. LeBlanc; and three sisters, Mrs. Oris (Inez) Broussard, Mrs. Victor (Maude) Romero and Mrs. Henry (Eula) DeRouen.

Pallbearers will be Calvin, Shane and Brad Langla, Scotty Maturin, Jonathon Cote and Jason Holden.

Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Richard.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.

Luce L. Fuselier

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Mrs. Francis "Bill" Fuselier, 96, the former Luce Landry, will begin at 3 p.m. today at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Michael cemetery.

Visitation will be until the time of services today at Pellerin Funeral Home.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Fuselier died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.

Jeanne F. Pritchard

Loving mother and grandmother

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Jeanne Fournet Pritchard, 79, will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Michael cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today at Pellerin Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. until the time of services.

Mrs. Pritchard died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000 at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia.

She is survived by four sons: Harold Pritchard of New Iberia, Frank Pritchard of Bridge City, Texas, Dudley Pritchard of Nederland, Texas and Woodrow Pritchard Jr. of Fort Neche, Texas; two sisters, Curtis Halphen of St. Martinville and Lillian Borel of Sabine Pass, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Pritchard was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Pritchard Sr.; her parents, Frank and Agnes Olivier Fournet; a daughter, Gail Martinez, and two sisters, Elaine Fournet and Marion Prince.

Louise Pederson

New Iberia native

Louise Pederson died Sept. 25 in Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, Colo. She was 67 years old.

Born Feb. 27, 1933 in New Iberia, she was the daughter of Tynes and Eugenia Mixon. She received a degree in education from Louisiana State University.

She was Miss Iberia in 1950 and also played on the All-State basketball team of Mt. Carmel Academy from 1949-1951.

Louise moved to Aspen, Colo. in 1978 and married Henry Pederson in 1991. For the past several years they have spent summers in Aspen and Carbondale, Colo. and winters in San Carlos, Mexico.

Survivors include her husband, Henry of Carbondale, and her children, Katherine Facchinello of Littleton; Thomas Frisby of Orlando, Fla.; David Frisby and his wife, Brenda, of Tyler, Texas; and five grandchildren: Aaron, Brent and Michael Facchinello, and Cole and Kameron Frisby.

Other survivors include her brothers and sisters, F.H. Mixon and his wife, Elise, of New Iberia; Myrtis Mixon of San Francisco; T.E. Mixon Sr. of New Iberia; Margaret Trahan of Lafayette; and Nancy Mixon of New Iberia. Other survivors are her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tage and Pauline Pederson of Aspen; and stepchildren Jess and Nina Pederson of Carbondale, and Mia Pederson, who is serving with the Peace Corps in Africa.

Jean "Leroy" Gardner

Devoted husband, father

Services for Jean "Leroy" Gardner, 67, will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas James officiating. Interment will be in Beau Pre cemetery Saturday after a 10 a.m. dismissal from Journet and Bolden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4-6:30 p.m. Friday with a 6 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen Saturday at 7:30 a.m.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Gardner died at 2:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at Lafayette General Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Broussard Gardner of New Iberia; three sons, Kevin Gardner of Houma, and Kenneth and Bruce Gardner, both of New Iberia; one daughter, Valdez Gardner Powe of Mobile, Ala.; one foster brother, Walter Robertson of New Iberia; and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by his parents, Early and Yvonne Bastain Gardner; and his brother, Joseph "Ivan" Gardner.

Pallbearers will be members of the 3rd Degree Knights of Peter Claver.

Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.

Services are pending for John T. Moore III, 60, who died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000.

Hannah A. Smith

Sugar cane worker

ASHTON - Services for Hannah Smith, 82, the former Hannah Alexander, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Ulysses Mitchell Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Mount Calvery cemetery in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. Friday at the church, which will reopen Saturday at 8 a.m.

A native of Jeanerette and a resident of Franklin for several years, Mrs. Smith died at 5:12 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Franklin Foundation Hospital in Franklin.

Mrs. Smith was a worker in the sugar cane industry.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Smith of St. Joseph, Stephen Smith of Ashton, and Raymond Smith of New Orleans; two daughters, Gloria Smith Jackson and Helen Smith Reed, both of Franklin; 46 grandchildren; 106 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sons, six daughters and one grandchild.

Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.
