Simon Boudreaux Sr.

Loving husband, grandfather

Services for Simon Boudreaux Sr., 78, will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jude Halphen officiating. Interment will be in St. Marcellus cemetery in Rynella with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1982.

Visitation will be from 4-11 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home Downtown, Iberia St., which will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Lydia and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Boudreaux died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Mr. Boudreaux served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines, New Guinea and throughout the Pacific Region all the way down to Sydney, Austrailia. He retired from the Iberia Parish School Board after working as head janitor at New Iberia Senior High for 34 years.

He is survived by his wife, Velma Migues Boudreaux of New Iberia; his son, Simon James Boudreaux Jr. of New Iberia; two daughters, Judy Boudreaux Dib and Patty Boudreaux Pepper, both of New Iberia; three brothers, Mitchell Boudreaux of Avery Island, Paul Boudreaux of Toledo, Ore., and Deacon Ulysse Boudreaux of New Iberia; two sisters, Theresa Boudreaux of New Iberia, and Eula Segura of Rynella; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Boudreaux was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Dorville and Felicia Bonin Boudreaux; four brothers, John, Laurent, Lois and Sgt. Philip Boudreaux; and two sisters, Josephine Boudreaux and Sidonia B. Segura.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Boudreaux, Lindsey Dib, and Jennifer and Magan Pepper.

Services are pending for Lennis Bourque, 81, who died at 1:45 a.m. today, Sept. 12, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center.

Alice O. Boutte

LYDIA - Services for Alice Adrienne "Audrey" O. Boutte, 88, will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Fabre officiating. Interment will be in St. Nicholas cemetery in Patoutville.

Visitation will be from 8-11 a.m. Wednesday with a 9 a.m. rosary at the church.

A native and lifelong resident of Grand Marais, Mrs. Boutte died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Boutte was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of Peter Claver, the Ladies Altar Society and St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Junius Boutte; two sons, Achille "A.J." Boutte, and his wife, Lois, and Edmond Boutte, and his wife, Doris; and a special son, Peter Boutte, all of Grand Marais; four daughters, Glenda B. Boutte, and her husband, Murphy, Gail B. Raggette, and her husband, Alfred, Betty B. Vallot, and her husband, Raphael, and Linda Boutte, all of Grand Marais; one sister, Blanche O. Olivier; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Boutte was preceded in death by her parents, Achille and Mary Louise Dickerson Olivier; her brother, Dallas Olivier; her sister, Doris O. Boutte; and her grandson, Raphael Vallot III.

Pallbearers will be Achille, Peter and Murphy Boutte Jr., Nathaniel Raggette, Dexter Vallot and Dalton "Red" Olivier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gregory, Martin and Arthur Olivier, John Louviere, Louis and Lawrence Thompson Jr. and Bertrand Boutte.

CHARENTON - Services for George Veeder Jr., 86, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Church.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday with a 10 a.m. rosary at the church.

A resident of Charenton, Mr. Veeder died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000.

W. Clyde Bourque

FRANKLIN - Services for W. Clyde Bourque, 71, will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Assumption.

Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ibert's Mortuary, which will reopen Wednesday at 8 a.m.

A native of Franklin, a longtime resident of Baldwin, and a resident of New Iberia for the past 10 years, Mr. Bourque died at 11:35 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at his residence.

Ibert's Mortuary Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.

Robert J. Derouen

Services for Robert Joseph Derouen, 53, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Derise officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post 1982 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Jeanerette and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Derouen died at 8:15 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Derouen was a veteran of the Vietnam Era.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Meyers Derouen of New Iberia; his father, Nicholas "RL" Derouen of Jeanerette; two brothers, LJ Derouen of Jeanerette, and Johnny Derouen of Lydia; and four sisters, Mary Jane Gaspard of Lydia, Beatrice Bourliea of Franklin, and Luna Sonnier and Gladys Landry, both of Jeanerette.

Mr. Derouen was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Marie Bourque Derouen; his brother, Walter Derouen; his grandparents, Edgar and Adline Sonnier Derouen, and John and Ada Desormeaux Bourque.

Pallbearers will be Wilbert Bourliea, Wilbert Bourliea Jr., Paul Scelfo, Johnny Derouen and Alton and Allen Meyers Sr.

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Myra Ann Mitchell, 39, the former Myra Ann Valsin, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Notre Dame Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Mullally officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. rosary at Golden Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen Thursday at 7 a.m.

A native and lifelong resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Mitchell died at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Usher Society of Notre Dame Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Horace Mitchell of St. Martinville; her parents, Joseph and Anna Bell Valsin of St. Martinville; her son, Horace Mitchell Jr. of St. Martinville; her daughter, Dee Myra Mitchell of St. Martinville; and two sisters, Lydia Valsin of New Iberia, and Angeline Valsin of Beaumont, Texas.

Joyce S. Tidwell

FRANKLIN - Services for Joyce Schoenstein Tidwell, 85, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Church of the Assumption.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services with a 1:15 p.m. rosary at Ibert's Chapel.

A resident of Franklin, Mrs. Tidwell died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.

Mildred R. Muncy

Loving wife and mother

Services for Mrs. Wilburn D. Muncy, 87, the former Mildred Reed, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at David Funeral Home Chapel North, Trotter St., with the Rev. Steve Horn officiating. Entombment will be in Beau Pre Mausoleum in Jeanerette.

Visitation will be from 2:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, which will reopen Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

Born in Corsicana, Texas, on Aug. 2, 1913, and a resident of New Iberia for the past 42 years, Mrs. Muncy died at 5:35 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at Consolata Nursing Home.

Mrs. Muncy was a homemaker and in past years was an active member of Jeanerette First Baptist Church. After moving to New Iberia, she became an active member of Highland Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, W.D. "Dudley" Muncy of New Iberia; her son, Donald D. Muncy, and his wife, Ann, of New Iberia; his daughter, Gloria Faye Sparks, and her husband, Perry, of Haughton; her sister, Mary Margaret Box of Teague, Texas; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Muncy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. and Faye Todd Reed; two brothers, Jack Ray and William Reed; her sister, Billie Sue Lewis; and her grandson, Dudley James Muncy.

Pallbearers will be Robert Albrecht, Kossuth Boutte, Bob Clement, T-Pop Derouen, Bob Jones and Don Louviere.

Alfred M. Rockwell

Services for Alfred Max "Rocky" Rockwell, 82, will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Derise officiating. Interment will be in St. Ann cemetery in Cow Island with military graveside rites conducted by the Vermilion Parish Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native of Fulton, Iowa, and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Rockwell died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2000, at his residence.

Mr. Rockwell was a U.S. Army veteran, having served his country during World War II from 1940-45. He was the recipient of three purple hearts and was a lead tanker. He was a life member of the VFW Post 1850 and served as commander of the 4th district. Mr. Rockwell worked very hard and served the 4th district diligently, attending all of the meetings and working at all of the Bingo's. He, along with Dr. Martin, were very beneficial in getting the sewerage system working with the city in the Hortense and Johnston St. areas.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Guidry Rockwell of New Iberia; his son, Francis Barry Rockwell, and his wife, Ellen Brock Rockwell, of Grapevine, Texas; his grandson, Shane Rockwell, and his wife, Crystal, and their son, Dakota Garret Rockwell, all of Weatherford, Texas; his granddaughter, Shauna Rockwell of Spokane, Wash.; his stepdaughter, Henrietta Sellers of New Iberia; his sister, Norva Jean Beaver of Maquoketa, Iowa; and two aunts, Macel Hopson and Goldie Gilmore, both of Maquoketa, Iowa.

Mr. Rockwell was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Carrie Mae McPeak Rockwell; three brothers, Cecile, Almond and Ronald Rockwell; two sisters, Lucille Fenton and Jacketta Rockwell; and his first wife, Maude Ray LeMaire.

The family would like to thank AAA Home Health and Dr. Sagrera and his office staff.

Isabelle M. Latiolais

Devoted mother, grandmother

Services for Mrs. Charles Latiolais Sr., 73, the former Isabelle "Bell" Moss, will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at David Funeral Home Chapel North, Trotter Street, with the Rev. Albert Boumans officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:30-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Latiolais died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Lafayette.

Mrs. Latiolais was retired from Arc Haven as a houseparent after 13 years of service.

She is survived by one son, Charles Latiolais II, and his wife, Gwen, of Sanford, Fla.; four daughters, Carla Latiolais, Cynthia Phillips, and her husband, Anthony, and Belle Waren, and her husband, Ronnie, all of New Iberia, and Karen Phillips, and her finance, Nelson Frentz, of Lafayette; one brother, Theophile "Tote" Moss of New Iberia; one sister, Daisy "Peachie" Broussard of New Iberia; four grandsons, Christopher Baldridge and Rodney Girard II, both of New Iberia, Casey Phillips, and his wife, Tabitha, of Daytona, Fla., and Chaswill Phillips, and his fiancee, Cyndi Autin, of Lafayette; four granddaughters, Maggie Baldridge and Kathie Latiolais, both of New Iberia, and Kif Latiolais and Mollie Phillips, both of Lafayette; and one great-grandson, Robert T. Fisher of Lafayette.

Mrs. Latiolais was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Latiolais Sr.; her parents, William T. "Buddy" and Catherine Primeaux Moss; one son, William "Willie" Latiolais; two brothers, Rand and Taylor Moss; and four sisters, Iola Angers, Nettie Krepper, Lizzie Loffland and Burneice Moss.
