ODIA T. FISHER
COLUMBIA, LA - Services for Odia T. Fisher, 80, of Columbia will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 12, 2001 at the Grayson Baptist Church in Grayson with Rev. James Carson and Rev. James Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Columbia Hill cemetery in Columbia.
Mr. Fisher was born in Caldwell Parish on December 10, 1920 to the union of William Asa and Mattie Carr Fisher and died Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.
He was a retired carpenter and an active member of the Grayson Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Amy Hodges Fisher of Columbia; daughters: Brenda Creel of Jonesville and Judy Rodman of Monroe; brother: Marshall Fisher of Columbia; sisters: Cordia Byrd of Monroe, Mattie Bannister of Columbia and Ruby Kirby of Hebert; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Bannister, William Fisher, Dewey Braddock, Melvin Braddock, Elvin Braddock and Mike Rucker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Blackmon and Leon Basco.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 AM until 9 PM at the funeral home and Thursday from 10 AM until time of services at the church.

THOMAS W. WELCH
Thomas W. Welch, age 65, of Monroe, LA, formerly of Ferriday, LA, retired U. S. Inspector for M. M. S., was born August 22, 1935 in Vincenes, IN and died April 9, 2001 in Monroe.
Funeral services will be held at Young's Funeral Home - Ferriday, LA, Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at 2:00 with Rev. Clyde Webber officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial cemetery in Natchez, MS. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2001 from 1:00 PM until service time at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
He was preceded in death by his father: Oscar W. Welch; daughter: Kate W. Pellitteri; and sister: Carolyn Nelson.
Survivors include his wife: Margaret Falkenheiner Welch of Monroe, LA; son: Thomas W. Welch, Jr. of Slidell, LA; mother: Evannah L. Welch of Vidalia, LA; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Clay Peterson, Harvey LeBlanc, Corbet McMullen, John D. Young, Terry Turner and Gene Brakenridge.
Mr. Welch was a member of St. Paul Church.

VIRGINIA CALDWELL CHRISTMAS
Virginia Caldwell Christmas, 86, died Sunday, April 8, 2001 in Marietta, GA.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Thursday, April 12, in the mausoleum at Mulhearn Memorial Park cemetery in Monroe, LA.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14 at Cottonwood First Baptist Church in Cottonwood, AL.
A native of Amory, MS, Mrs. Christmas was a well known and respected teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Christmas, who has extended family in the Dothan area.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Robert Caldwell Christmas and his wife, Kathleen; and her grandson, Andrew Christmas, all of Marietta, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daniel Christmas Memorial Fund, The Walker School, 700 Cobb Parkway North, Marietta, GA 30062.

ADAH FENNELL HUMBLE
Services for Mrs. Adah Fennell Humble, 88, of Monroe will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 8, 2001, at First Baptist Church Sanctuary, West Monroe, with Dr. David Uth and Rev. Charles Martindale officiating. Burial will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Humble died Friday, April 6, 2001, at North Monroe Hospital. She was the co-founder of Century Ready Mix and was an active member of First Baptist Church, West Monroe. Her husband, J. Parker Humble, parents, Robert and Jean Fennell, and sister, Mabel Anderson, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Jack P. Humble, Jr. and Robert "Bob" Humble of Monroe; daughters, Joy Mitcham of Monroe and Joan Williams of El Dorado, AR; sister, Pearl Bower Corry; 12 grandchildren, Jodi Perry, Connie Humble, Chip Humble, Chad Humble, Chris Humble, Mike Mitcham, Michelle Gregory, Melanie Markley, Robin Cole, Randy Williams, Rodney Williams, and Rick Williams; and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Tim Perry, Richard Markley, Doug Cole and Craig Gregory.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of West Monroe.

INFANT NATALIE CLAIRE WILLIAMS
Graveside funeral service for Infant Natalie Claire Williams of West Monroe will be 3:00 PM Saturday, April 7, 2001 with Rev. W. H. Wallace and Rev. Maron Spence officiating. Interment will be in Hasley cemetery West Monroe, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Natalie was born on January 29, 2001 and died Thursday, April 5, 2001. She was the daughter of Joseph Mitchell Williams and Paula Wilson Williams of West Monroe. She was welcomed Home in Heaven by her sister, Sidney Hable. Natalie touched so many lives in such a short time. Most people only dream of "angels", but we held ours. We are also blessed with such wonderful family and friends. Thanks so much for everything.
Survivors include her parents: Joseph Mitchell Williams and Paula Wilson Williams; sister: Faith Hable of West Monroe; grandparents: Basil and Madge Wilson of Baskin and Roger and Avie Williams of West Monroe; great grandparents: Tressie Siddon of Winnsboro, Raymond and Carol Arrant of West Monroe and Viola Williams of Eros; great-great grandmother: Faye Saterfiel of West Monroe; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.

MR. ALLEN HOWARD COON, SR.
Services for Mr. Allen Howard Coon, Sr., 63, of Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel, Lamy Lane, Monroe, LA with Dr. Lee R. McGlone, Ph.D, pastor of Parkview Baptist Church, Reverend Randy McGee, First Baptist Church of Monroe and Father Guy Mackey, Curate at Grace Episcopal Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 7, 2001.
Mr. Coon died Wednesday evening in the comfort of his home and surrounded by his family after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Mr. Coon was a 1955 graduate of Ouachita Parish High School, and earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Tulane University in 1961. He joined his father, J. Norman Coon, Sr., older brother J. Norman Coon, Jr. and younger sister, Mary Coon Biggs in the practice of law as part of the Coon Law Firm until 1974. After that time, he ran a successful single practice until 1997, when he partnered with Lee Perkins to form the Coon & Perkins law firm. In January 2001, the Fourth Judicial District Bar Association recognized Mr. Coon for 40 years of outstanding service as a practicing attorney. He truly had a love for and found joy in the practice of law.
Mr. Coon was a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association, Fourth Judicial District Bar Association, Sons of the American Revolution, and was a past member and president of the Optimist Club of Greater Monroe. During his college years, he was an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
Mr. Coon was an active member and supporter of the Little Theater of Monroe, Monroe Symphony Orchestra, Grace Episcopal Church, and a variety of other civic, cultural and community organizations.
Allen was a wonderful father and husband, whose love knew no bounds. He was one of the kindest and most intelligent men his family and friends had the privilege of knowing. He enriched our lives and leaves wonderful memories for many friends and contemporaries throughout this community. Our hearts are heavy with grief, but the knowledge that he has gone home to the Lord gives us great comfort. Above all else, he loved the Lord with all his heart and shared that love openly with family, friends and anyone else who would listen.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 24 years, Linda Milton Coon, daughter Kevin Maria Coon of Monroe, daughter Kendra Lee Coon Smith and her husband Kurt Smith of Pineville, LA, son Allen Howard Coon, Jr. and his wife Kay Kolwe Coon of Petal, MS and son Christopher Buckley Coon and his wife, Julie Yerby Coon, of Monroe; grandchildren Allyson Lee Smith, Kyle Christopher Smith, Allen Howard Coon, III (Trey), Benjamin Kolwe Coon, Courtney Nicole Coon, and Jonathan Buckley Coon; one brother J. Norman Coon, Jr., and sister-in-law Carolyn Coon of Monroe, and one sister Mary Coon Biggs and brother-in-law Robert Biggs of Franklin, LA; father-in-law Wayne Raymond Milton of Delhi, LA; brother- in-law Leslie Wayne Milton of Atlanta, GA; and various nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jay Coon, Jeff Coon, Dr. Collins Coon, Charley Kingery, Bill Willson and Travis Keiser. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Perkins, Dr. David Barker, Judge Milton Moore, L. D. "Bud" Ray, David Johnston, Richard Campbell, Phil McCrary, Donald Brown, Dr. Michael Cage, Dr. Ronald Hammett, Tex Kilpatrick, Jim Haddox and Dr. Oliver Sartor.

MR. MAXWELL JONES
Funeral services for Mr. Maxwell Jones, 86, will be held at 2 PM Sunday, April 8, 2001 at Enterprise Baptist Church in Farmerville with Bro. David Barkley officiating. Interment will be at Enterprise cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Mr. Jones died Thursday, April 5, 2001. He was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church in Farmerville.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jessie Lee K. Jones; and one son: Connie Max Jones, both of Farmerville, LA; two daughters: Bonita Halford of Jefferson, TX; and Jean Sepulvado and husband, Frank of Marshall, TX; one brother: Jr. Jones of Hot Springs, AR; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.; and special friends: Mr. and Mrs. Ken Brantley and Ray Arnold.

MRS. VERTA MAE BUTLER
Graveside services for Mrs. Verta Mae Butler, 84, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2 PM Sunday, April 8, 2001 in the Vienna cemetery, Vienna, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Mrs. Butler died Friday, April 6, 2001 at West Monroe Guest House, West Monroe, LA.
Survivors are her children: Jimmy Butler and wife, Brenda of West Monroe, LA; Syble Butler Thon and husband, Bob of Hudson, WI; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6 PM until 8 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.

PAUL W. "BUDDY" MEEK , SR.
Paul W. "Buddy" Meek, Sr., born May 5, 1926, passed away April 3, 2001 after a courageous battle with emphysema.
He was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life of 49 years, Helen Harris Meek.
Mr. Meek was a graduate of LSU, and was retired from Sun Oil Co. International.
Survivors are his son: Paul W. Meek and his wife, Terry and daughter, Melissa Meek; grandchildren: Michelle, Katie, and Michael Meek; sister: Betty R. Moberley; numerous family members and friends.
A celebration of his life was held Friday, April 6, 2001 at 12 PM at Abby Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 4 PM Saturday, April 7, 2001 at Old Bethel cemetery, Clarks, LA.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Gulledge, Roy Holloway, Robert Pikes, Granville Dutton, and Jack Fluck.
Memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Hospital or Bryan's House, Dallas, TX.

ADELAIDE PARKER MCCALEB
Memorial services for Marie Adelaide Parker McCaleb of Pensacola, FL will be held at 3 PM, Friday, April 20, 2001 at Grace Episcopal Church, with visitation prior to the service from 2 until 3.
Adelaide died, after a long illness, on Friday April 6, 2001 in Pensacola. She was born in Monroe, LA on April 30, 1923 to J. Peyton Parker and Cecile Davis Parker and was the granddaughter of Camille and John Parker, prominent early citizens of Monroe. She attended Georgia Tucker school and Neville High School graduating in 1939. She attended Louisiana State University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. For many years Adelaide resided in Monroe where she was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church and the Junior Charity League. During the war service years she moved to Pensacola where she remained until her death.
Adelaide was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Stephen Carrington Wyatt. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia McCaleb Pennewill and granddaughter Stephanie Pennewill both of Pensacola, her brother, J. Peyton Parker of Baton Rouge, LA and numerous cousins in the Monroe area.
Adelaide's sweet nature and great personal charm endeared her to all and will long be remembered by her many, many friends.
