Raziano
Benny S. Raziano, a native of Kenner and resident of Luling, Passed away on Dec. 14, 2003. He was 77 years old.

Owner of Raziano’s Restaurant and an avid fisherman, Mr. Raziano loved to decorate his yard for the holidays. He is survived by his son, Benny Walter Raziano and wife Audrey Champagne Raziano, daughters Deborah Raziano and Tasha Raziano Treuil and her husband Daniel, brother James Raziano, sister Grace Raziano Jatho and grandchildren Angela Raziano and Emma Treuil.

He is preceded in death by hi wife, Anna Mae Himel Raziano, parents Nick and Nunzia Carona Raziano, brothers Joe, Jules, Vic and Nick Raziano, and sisters Nellie Ranatza and Vera Faucheux.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at noon at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. The family requests donations be made to the Delta Zeta Sorority Foundation or the Nicholls State University Foundation.

Richard
Paul C. Richard Jr. Passed away on Dec. 8, 2003 at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. He was 62 years old.

A resident of Norco, Mr. Richard was a retired attorney at law. He contributed to several charities, loved his church, had an interest in people with physical disabilities and was proficient in computer artwork. Mr. Richard was a graduate of Destrehan High School, Louisiana State University and Loyola Law School, and a member of the Louisiana Bar Association.

He is survived by his mother, Adele D. Richard, sister Merrill Richard Zeringue, niece Michelle Spielman and nephew Michael Zeringue. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Richard Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Dec. 11 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Norco, followed by burial at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan.

Schouest
Theresa Touro Schouest, a native of Matthews and a resident of Luling, Passed away on Dec. 23, 2003. She was 72 years old.

She is survived by her 12 children, two brothers, two half-brothers and two sisters. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albin Schouest, parents Andrew and Adenise Levron Curole and two half-brothers. Religious services were held on Dec. 26 at Des Allemands Mennonite Church.

Bates
Esther Marie Guise Bates, a resident of Houma and native of Chauvin, Passed away on Jan. 2, 2004. She was 60 years old.

She is survived by her husband, Sam E. Bates, son David Hinze Jr., daughters Peggy Fitch, Billie Jo Currier and Jusy Hanzik, sisters Eva Ratcliff, Rita Dunn and Janet Ergeron and seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emile Joseph Lirette Sr. and Lornza Marie Guise Lirette, brothers Jimmy, Iris, Levis, Leon, Emile Jr. and Milton Lirette, sisters Urilda, Rose and Darlene Lirette and Irene Lambos and one grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Jan. 5 at Falgout Chapel in Raceland.

Blouin
Oscar “O.J.” Blouin, Jr. Passed away on Jan. 23, 2004 of cancer. He was 51 years old. Born and raised in New Orleans, he was a resident of Des Allemands for the past 12 years. Son of the deceased Oscar and Gloria Blouin of New Orleans, his survivors include his wife, Phyllis Guillot Blouin, children Amanda Blouin Eckhardt, Jaime Blouin, Laura Blouin, Christopher Blouin and Sara Blouin, son-in-law David Eckhardt, future son-in-laws Michael Nicolini and Bryan Hoppen and future daughter-in-law Dixie Breaux, grandchildren Abigail Eckhardt, Tyler Nicolini and Ellie Blouin and mother-in-law Marie Azalie Guillot. Mr. Blouin was a former employee of H.B. Zachry Construction at Monsanto in Luling.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands on Jan. 26.

Camardelle
Brian Keith “Scooter” Camardelle Jr., a resident of Luling, died on Jan. 18, 2004. He was 19 years old.

An employee of St. Charles Parish Public works and a member of St. Charles Baptist Church, he is survived by his father, Brian Camardelle Sr., son Caine Camardelle, grandparents Robert and Susan Boudoin and Adam Jr. and Rita Badeaux, brother Brandon Camardelle, stepbrother Andre Benoit and half-sisters Jacilynne Lester and Amanda Camardelle. He is preceded in death by his mother, Shelly Boudin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Caine Camardelle.

Carr
Bonnie Hymel Carr Passed away on Jan. 30, 2004. She was 51 years old.

She is preceded in death by her father, Urbin Hymel, and stepfather, Oscar Brady. She is survived by her husband, William Denis Carr, mother Evelyn Brady, children Aaron, Carey and Kelly, stepdaughter Jennifer Carr, brothers Gary Hymel, Dayle Hymel and Dennis Hymel, sisters Nancy Navaille and Mary Rohan, and four grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Feb. 5 at Sacred Heart Church in Norco. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Dufrene
Jeffrey Dufrene Jr., a native of Bayou Gauche and resident of Des Allemands, Passed away on Jan. 1, 2004. He was 62 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Bernard Dufrene, mother Lena Hogan Dufrene, daughters Jael D. Comardelle and Nicole Faye Dufrene, sisters Peggy D. Dufrene, Janice D. Walls and Dorcas D. Frickey, six grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Jefferey Antoine Dufrene Sr.

Religious services were held on Jan. 5 at Community Assembly of God Church in Bayou Gauche.

Dupepe
Clement Andrew Dupepe Passed away on Jan. 20, 2004 in Gonzales. He was 78. A native and resident of Union, he was son of the late Fernand Sr. and Julie Mire Dupepe, uncle of Karen Chauvin Bergeron, Joan Dupepe Bergeron, Susan Dupepe Boudreaux, Julie Porta Gautreau, Lionel V. Porta Jr., Mark Dupepe, Lynn and John Louviere and the late Sherry Dupepe Bourgeois, the late Michael Paul Dupepe and the late Pamela Ann Gautreaux. Brother of Rosalie Dupepe Porta, Shirley Dupepe Louviere Durabb, the late Lillian Dupepe Chauvin, the late Barbara Dupepe, the late Mercedes Dupepe, half-brother of Shirley B. Young and the late Ferdenand G. Dupepe Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Jan. 22 at St. Mary’s Chapel in Convent.

Fahrig
Jasper Frederick Fahrig Sr., a native of St. Louis, Mo., and resident of St. Charles Parish, Passed away on Jan. 10, 2004. He was 75 years old.

Mr. Fahrig is survived by his sons, Jasper Frederick Fahrig Jr., William Robert Fahrig and Jonathan Craig Fahrig; daughters Deborah F. Corrao, Chanda F. Burge, Rachel F. Billot and Ruth F. Koederitz, sisters Gwendolyn Bernice F. Caillet and Georgia Ruth F. Matherne, 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sons, Christian Gottlieb Fahrig II and Brian Joseph Fahrig, and his parents, Christian and Helen Moore Fahrig.

Services were held on Jan. 13 at First Union Presbyterian Church in Luling.

Falgoust
Philomene Therese Dufresne “Tut” Falgoust, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Passed away on Jan. 3, 2004. She was 87 years old.

A native of Wallace and resident of St. James and Donaldsonville, she was born on Dec. 10, 1916, to Ida Waguespack and Ulysse Dufresne. She graduated valedictorian in 1934 from Edgard High and was married on July 3, 1939, to joseph Clerville “Cap” Falgoust of Vacherie, son of Amelida Stein and Jourdan Falgoust. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Gayle Falgoust of Metairie and Sharon and Sterling Zeringue of Norco; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Jo Ann Canella Falgoust of Baton Rouge and Glen and Angela Morris Falgoust of Donaldsonville; sisters Agnes Dufresne Barré, Georgette Dufresne Spoonts and Ethel Dufresne; brother Ulysse Dufresne; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Cecile Dufresne Faucheux and Anne Dufresne Dennis; brothers Amilcar Dufresne and Claud Dufresne.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Jan. 6 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville.

Fraychineaud
Albert Henry Steaven Fraychineaud Jr., aged 60, died on Jan. 26, 2004 at 10:25 p.m. Beloved husband of Carolyn Cambre Fraychineaud, father of Natalie Fraychineaud, Christi F. Gibson and Jennifer Fraychineaud, son of Mildred Budenich and the late Albert Henry Fraychineaud Sr. Grandfather of Madison Fraychineaud and Gavin and Morgan Gibson. Brother of Noelie Serpas Elliott, June F. Fos, Elsie F. Boudreaux, Althea F. Treitler, Juvonnie F. Smith, Millicent F. Ancalade, Karen “Suzy” F. McGiboney, Donna F. Koski, Robert, Kayo, Courtney, Gary, Arthur Fraychineaud. Brother-in-law of Beverly and Henry Bourgeois, Helen and Robert Mire, Ernest and Elizabeth Cambre and Judy Duet and the late Norman Duet. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Fraychineaud was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Luling for 27 years.

Galatas
Newton “N.J.” Joseph Galatas Passed away on Jan. 4, 2004 at 10:45 a.m. at Canon Hospice. He was 57 years old. A native of Garyville and resident of Jefferson Parish, he is survived by mother Rita Andre of Baton Rouge, step-mother Lillie Staurd of St. Rose, brothers Russel Charles Galatas and wife Betucci Galatas of St. Rose, William Charles Galatas and wife Tony Raynes Galatas of Hahnville, sister Gynelle Galatas Stoker of Kenner, stepsister Lorretta Frommeyer of Metaire, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, William Cliffton Galatas Sr., brother William Cliffton Galatas Jr. and sister Earlene Galatas Hammet. Graveside services were held on Jan. 7 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in St. Rose.
