Gerald Lee Mallette, 67, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, December 25, 2014 in Leesville, LA. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, JoAnn Mallette of DeRidder, LA; son, Donald Mallette and wife Amy of Ragley, LA; daughters, Twila Perkins and husband A.B. of Pitkin, LA, and Tina Mathis and husband Billy of DeRidder, LA; brother, Danny Mallette and wife Julie of Florida; sister, Juanita Mallette of Moss Bluff, LA; grandchildren, Allen, Riley, Ty, Hayden, Evan, Blane, and Brianne; great granddaughter, Aubrianna. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Rena Mallette; sister, Doris Hester; granddaughter, Dorothy Jo Mathis.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services are Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 2:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rosepine cemetery, Rosepine, LA. Rev. Buddy Freeman will officiate.

Lily Cooley
June 17, 2014 - December 17, 2014
Lily June Cooley, 6 months, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in Alexandria, LA. Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Justin Cooley; brother, Holden Cooley, sister, Layla Cooley, all of DeRidder; grandparents, George and Rebecca Hickman of Rosepine, Amy Rosella, Drue Nuccio and Kenny Buels; great grandparents, Dennis and Linda Ozan of DeRidder, and Priscilla Nuccio.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Providence
Baptist Church in Rosepine, LA.
Funeral service is Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 11:00am at Providence Baptist Church . Burial will follow at Providence cemetery. Rev. Ed Tilley will officiate.

Charles Jones
February 21, 1950 - December 12, 2014

Charles Herbert Jones, 64, of the Merryville, LA area, passed from this life on Friday, December 12, 2014 in Alexandria, LA. Charles was in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1973 and served in Viet Nam. He loved fishing and being out on the water. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Keith Jones and wife Pauline of Marble Falls, TX; sisters, Louise Amidon and husband Jeff of Lufkin, TX, Linda Hardy and husband Ron of Missouri City, TX, and Peggy Jones of Sugarland, TX; grandchildren, Cole and Jake Jones; 2 nephews; 6 nieces; 2 great nephews; and 4 great nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Lee Ward Jones; father and stepmother, Homer and Ruth Jones; and grandparents, Hamp and Tressie Foshee Jones.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wheels for the Wounded, in care of John Collins, 19977 Siesta Shores, Spicewood, TX 78669.

Brenda Roberts
April 13, 1943 - December 10, 2014
Brenda Gail Herring Roberts passed away from this life to the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on December 10, 2014 after a long and valiant struggle with illness.

Brenda was born on April 13, 1943 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Effie Mae Pittman Herring and Olen D. Herring who precede her in death. She and her husband Jim moved to DeRidder in 1968. Brenda attended West Marion High School in Columbia, Mississippi where she played varsity basketball. She attended William Carey University and completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at McNeese State University. Brenda focused her career as a Registered Nurse on the elderly and terminally ill. She served as Director of Nursing at Pine Haven Nursing Home and Westwood Manor Nursing Home. She also worked as a home health and hospice nurse. Brenda loved her patients and treated them with great care and compassion, like her own family. Brenda is a past President of the DeRidder Junior Women’s Club. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of DeRidder where she sang in the choir for many years. Brenda and Jim have been members of New Life Baptist Church since it was founded ten years ago.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jim Roberts; children Ramon Roberts (Kelli Rutherford) of DeRidder, Robin Holk (Derek) of Seabrook, Texas, Greg Roberts (Paula) of DeRidder, Mike Roberts (Chrissy Warren) of DeRidder, and Sarah Matte (Tad) of Sulphur; sister, Willodean Herring Moye of Jasper, Texas.

Others who cherish her memory are those who call her Maw Maw or Nana, her grandchildren: Misty Roberts Clanton (Duncan), Brandon Roberts (Jill), Bryan Roberts, Jennifer Day (Chad), Chandler Roberts (Abby Day), Layken and Monica Matte, Emory Roberts, and Graham Whittington. Her great-grandchildren include Caden and Stella Clanton, Hunter and Chloe Roberts, and Rylle Day. She is also survived by nephews, Grant (Terri) Moye and Bradley Moye, their children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, and Friday, December 12, 2014 from 10:00am until 11:00am at New Life Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA.

The funeral will be held Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:00am at New Life Baptist Church in DeRidder. Bro. Jerry Masters and Bro. Lynn Clayton will preside over the service. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery .

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made in Brenda’s memory to either the New Life Baptist Church Building Fund or the DeRidder Junior Women’s Club Cancer Fund.

Linda Gibson
April 7, 1945 - December 9, 2014
Linda Gibson, 69, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Rev. Kenneth Gibson; son, Rev. Danny Gibson and wife Karen of Newport, AR; daughters, Shelya Young and husband Tony, and Misty Clark and husband Christopher, all of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Eloise Baldridge of DeRidder, LA, Sherry Fruge of Crowley, LA, and Wilma Glass and husband Jack of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Jessica Gibson, Josh Young, Whitney Gibson, Alyssa Young, Kati Gibson, Abigail Clark, and Ian Gibson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Delma Goodwin.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services are Friday, December 12, 2014 at 10:00am at Grabow Pentecostal Church in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Woodlawn cemetery in DeRidder. Rev. Kevin Cox, Rev. Travis Sheppard, Rev. Stanley Thrift, Rev. Tommy Magee, Rev. H.W. Smith, and Rev. Jeff Phillips will officiate.

Anna Meade
March 8, 1949 - December 9, 2014
Mrs. Anna Mary Meade, 65, of LaCamp, was called home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2014 at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Anna Mary was born on March 8, 1949 in Barnetts Creek, KY to the late Mr. Vernie Charles Blair and Mrs. OraLee Arms-Blair. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 siblings: Wilma Lowe, Willis & James Blair; her infant daughter, Katrina Lynn Meade, and her husband, Davis Edward Meade, Sr. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, aunt and grandmother. She loved gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She received much pleasure from treating the staff of the Leesville Dialysis Center and Acadian Ambulance Services to goodies at every holiday. She will be remembered for her compassion, sense of humor, generous heart, and obstinance.

Those left to cherish her memories include four children: Davis Edward Meade Jr., Willie Meade, Tina Meade, and Anna Lee Meade-Jackson; and two grandchildren: Melina Marie Jackson and Cheyenne Allison Katherine Jackson, all from LaCamp. Her surviving family also includes her brothers Robert & Wayne Blair of Warsaw, IN; Vencil Pelphrey of Sydney, OH; James Meade of LaCamp and the following members in Kentucky: Marion “Bobby” Meade-Vanhoose, Linda Meade-Wiley, Willie Elmo Meade Jr., Thomas Meade, Richard Meade, and Garna Jo Meade. She left behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and very dear lifelong friends.

To convey words of condolence or encouragement, please send messages via postal service or Facebook to Anna Lee Meade-Jackson or Tina Meade. The family has asked that flowers, etc. be sent directly to their home at 184 M. Wellman Road, Leesville, LA as services have not been arranged at this time and should be announced at a later date.

August 9, 1982 - December 3, 2014
Mary Elizabeth Browning, 32, of Leesville, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Alexandria, LA. Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Jennifer Browning of Leesville, LA; brothers, John Wesley Browning and wife Kelly of Spring, TX, and Brian Keith Browning and wife Samantha of Rineyville, KY; aunts, Jackie McKee and husband Donny of Leesville, LA, Janel Soulard and husband Marty of Phoenix, AZ, and Jimmie Lou Flewellen of Phoenix, AZ; cousins, Jimbo Enloe and wife Chantelle of Leesville, LA, John “Chip” McKee of Leesville, LA, and Justin Enloe of Phoenix, AZ; and Randy Browning and family, Kirt Browning and family, and Lora Mae Monical and family. She was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Keith Browning; brother, Aaron Ryan Browning; grandparents, Jean and Jack Enloe; grandmother, Violet Browning; and aunt, Susie Golden.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 beginning at 3:00pm until time of service on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 3:00pm at The Church House in Leesville, LA. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill cemetery in Leesville, LA. Sis. Lorraine Smith will officiate.

James "Donnie " Sonnier
April 17, 1947 - December 2, 2014
James “Donnie” Sonnier, Sr., 67, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in Houston, TX. Donnie was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Come Lord Jesus, and Adoration. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Margaret Sonnier; son, James “Jimmy” Sonnier and wife Janet; daughter, Shelly Trammell and husband Terry, all of DeRidder, LA; stepsons, Phillip Lewing and wife Karen of Evadale, TX, and Brad Lewing and wife Charity of DeRidder, LA; stepmother, Marylene Sonnier; brothers, Ray Allen Sonnier and wife Carol of Lake Charles, LA, and William Blake Sonnier and wife Kathy of Moss Bluff, LA; sister, Shelia Sonnier of Moss Bluff, LA; grandchildren, Dylan Sonnier and wife Danielle, Terrance Trammell, Remi Trammell, Shalee Lewing, Cherie Lewing, and Brandon Lewing; great grandchild, Dixie Larae Sonnier. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Aucoin; father, William Sonnier; son, David Sonnier; and brother, Michael Sonnier.

Funeral services are Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Hamilton cemetery in Elizabeth, LA. Connie Eaves "Sissy" Williamson
April 1, 1951 - December 2, 2014
Connie Eaves “Sissy” Williamson, 63, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. She was born to the late C.L. and Ople Eaves, April, 1, 1951, in DeRidder, LA. Sissy graduated from Merryville High School in 1969. She married N.R. “Rusty” Williamson on February 21, 1969 and had three children. Sissy was a good Christian lady and was an active and longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Merryville. She was a compassionate, caring woman who always had a smile and a kind word for every person who ever met her. Sissy’s family meant everything to her. She always thought of others over herself. She loved cooking and baking. She was a true southern lady. Sissy served as Justice of the Peace for Beauregard Parish, Ward 2, for the past 18 years. She was a Notary Public for over 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, N.R. “Rusty” Williamson; daughter, Lisa Renee’ Williamson; son, Joseph R. Williamson; brother, Stephen L. Eaves and wife Judy; grandchildren, Christian David Cervera, Victoria Rain Cervera, and Paris Shyanne Newman; mother-in-law, Jackie Williamson; special lifelong friend, Jacque Erwin Riley; dear nieces, Stephanie Leigh Eaves Hall and Erin Claudine Eaves Chesson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria Anne Williamson; father, Charles Lester Eaves; mother, Ople Winford Eaves.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm and Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Merryville, LA. Burial will follow at Cannon cemetery in Merryville. Rev. Wayne Squyres will officiate.

Claude Moses, Jr.
November 12, 1930 - December 1, 2014
Claude Moses, Jr., 84, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, December 01, 2014 at his home. Mr. Moses was a member of Westview Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the VFW, and the American Legion. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Willie B. Moses; sons, Claude Allen Moses and wife Laura, and Ricky Lynn Moses and wife Shawna all of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Claude Alexander Moses, Ashley Dixon, Lacey Peek, Megan Moses and Madison Moses; and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leah and Claude Moses, Sr.; sisters, Elsie Whiddon, Mildred Brown, and Mary Leah Fannin; brother, James Moses.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA and Wedesday, December 3, 2014 from 10:00am until time of service at Westview Baptist Church in DeRidder. Funeral services are Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 2:00pm at Westview Baptist Church in DeRidder. Burial will follow at Cannon cemetery in Merryville, LA. Rev. Roy Lee Johnson and Rev. Jason Hoychick will officiate.
