Cornwell
Charles "Redd" M. Cornwell Jr. died July 22, 2005 of injuries suffered in a boating accident on Bayou Des Allemands. He was 59.

Mr. Cornwell was a native and resident of Des Allemands. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Survivors include a son, Charles "Chuck" Cornwell; his father, Charles Cornwell Sr.; his mother, Mary C. Cornwell; four brothers, Grover, Billy, Ben, and Robert Cornwell; two sisters, Margaret Jean Belford and Frances Ann Ponge; and three grandchildren.

A funeral was held yesterday. Burial in the Des Allemands Mennonite Church cemetery.

Creecy
Melvin Creecy died July 15, 2005 at his home. He was 92.

Mr. Creecy was a native and resident of Montz.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorethea P. Creecy; his parents, Carrie Porche and Mark Creecy; two siblings, Herbert Creecy and Velma C. Diggs; and one grandchild, Rochelle M. Larche.

He is survived by three children and their spouses, Gloria C. and Charles Larche, Melvin J. and Jacqueline Creecy, and Wendell H. and Earline Creecy; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Creecy; four grandchildren, Charlene Larche-Mason, Devin J. and Reynard A. Creecy, and Renate' T. Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday. Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan.

Dabney
Nikita Dabney died July 15, 2005 of a gunshot wound in Destrehan. He was 20.

Mr. Dabney was born in New Orleans and lived in Destrehan.

Survivors include his parents, Sharlene and Renard Dabney Sr.; two brothers, Renard Dabney Jr. and Terry Dabney; two sisters, LaShonda and Torey Dabney; and his grandparents, Alverda Dabney and Evelyn Lee.

A funeral was held yesterday. Burial Providence Park.

Gauley
Kelly Creal Gauley died July 20, 2005 at Belle Maison Nursing Home. He was 77.

Mr. Gauley was born in Slidell and lived in Holden. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons, Stacy Gauley of Covington and Robert Gauley of Hammond; three daughters, Barbara Gauley of New Orleans, Glynda G. Hurm of Destrehan and Berma Gauley of Springfield; three sisters, Lolly Henry, Sandra Carona and Brenda Randle, all of Slidell; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held yesterday. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Slidell.

Guarino
Donald Anthony "Donny" Guarino died July 10, 2005 of a gunshot wound at his home. He was 26.

Mr. Guarino was born in New Orleans and lived in LaPlace for the past six years. He graduated from Destrehan High School. He was a self-employed contractor and owner of Honeydo Roofing.

Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Belle Guarino; his father, Harold Guarino; his mother, Charlotte LeBlanc Guarino; two brothers, Michael Paul and Robert Lovelle Guarino; and his grandmother, Alice Kairdolf Guarino.

A funeral was held Wednesday. Burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

Gueho
Eric J. Gueho Sr. died July 1, 2005 at Garden Park Hospital in Gulfport, Miss. He was 84.

Mr. Gueho was born in Grosse Tete and lived in the Bay St. Louis, Miss., area for 22 years. He was a retired employee of the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad System. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 77.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Prudhomme Gueho; two sons, Eric Gueho Jr. of Metairie and Rick Gueho of Waldheim; two daughters, Shirley LaRocca of Chalmette and Dayle St. Pierre of Luling; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

A funeral was held Wednesday. Burial in Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Miss.

Head
Jan Marie Massulla Head died July 9, 2005 of an apparent heart attack at her home. She was 41.

Ms. Head was born in New Orleans and lived in Ponchatoula for the past eight years. She graduated from Bonnabel High School. She was a former employee of Crescent Decal Printing for three years.

Survivors include her companion, Freddie Guidry Jr.; a son, James Brian Head Jr.; a daughter, Jamie Lynn Head; her father, Henry Massulla of Dulac; a brother, Henry J. Massulla Jr. of Kenner; and a sister, Julie Massulla Bertucci of St. Rose.

A funeral was held Monday. Burial in Restlawn Park.

Hymel
Thelma Hymel died July 8, 2005 at East Jefferson Hospital. She was 89.

She is survived by her loving husband, George Hymel; and her three sons, Gordon, Gerald, and Philip Hymel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Family Church on Thursday. Visitation will take place from 9:30 until 11 a.m. with a funeral immediately following. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories in Metairie.

Lancaster
Burt J. Lancaster, a native of Paradis and resident of Theodore, Ala., died on July 29, 2005. He was 49 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Dasch Lancaster, daughter Tiffany Ann Lancaster, brother Ronald L. Lancaster Sr. and sister Sharon L. Banas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tracy D. Lancaster Sr. and Irene Gros Lancaster and brother Tracy D. Lancaster Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Aug. 5 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Paradis.

Landeche
Marguerite "Mag" Cleveland Landeche died July 18, 2005 at Hammond Nursing Home. She was 95.

Ms. Landeche was a native and lifelong resident of Hahnville. She retired from the St. Charles Parish School System in 1973 with 43 years of service teaching fifth grade at Hahnville Elementary School. She was a parishioner at Holy Rosary Church, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, an avid gardener, and she loved birds.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Whitney Charles Landeche; her parents, George E. and Lucie Keller Cleveland; and brothers, George E. Cleveland, Jr., James Albert Cleveland, Robert Allen Cleveland, and John Harry Cleveland.

She is survived by her sister and spouse, Lucy C. and Bill Dube of Rockport, TX; a niece and her spouse, Patricia C. and Donald Haydel Jr. of Hammond, and a great nephew, Donald Haydel III of Prairieville.

A funeral mass was held Thursday. Burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft.
