Sylve
Attribute Sylve died July 19, 2005 at Bryanwood Nursing Center in Montelcello, FL. She was 86.

She was a native and resident of LaPlace.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Sylve, Sr.; her parents, Coliste and Denise Sylve; a son, Edward Sylve, Jr.; her sister, Amelia Anthony; and her brother, Herman Anthony.

She is survived by her children, Ronald, Don Joseph, Kenneth, Dana, and Gregory Sylve; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial too place yesterday. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery in Reserve.

Tregle
Thelma Marie Dempster Tregle died July 3, 2005. She was 79.

Mrs. Tregle was a native and resident of Des Allemands. She was a parishioner of St. Gertrude Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Felecien and Clara Plaisance Dempster; one son, Jerry Tregle; two brothers, John and Dennis Dempster; one sister, Velma Cortez; and one grandchild, Sandy Ann Somme.

She is survived y her husband of 63 years, Sidney Tregle; one son, Thomas Tregle; three daughters, Patricia T. Bergeron Holland, Sylvia Ann T. Somme, and Stacy T. Allen; five brothers, Mitchell, Melien, Landry, Simon, and Nolan Dempster, three sisters, Ethel Sposito, Delores Chaisson, and Doris Trahan; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday. Burial in St. Gertrude Church's cemetery.

Tregre
Pearl G. Tregre of Des Allemands died on July 27, 2005. She was 80 years old.

She is survived by her sons, Ray Olivier and his wife Joyce and Kenneth Olivier, daughter Daisy Voros and her husband Jack, brothers Joseph, Johnny and Richard Gaudet, sister Florence G. Bonnette and grandchildren David and Chance Voros and Alex and Jessica Olivier.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles A. Olivier by her first marriage, husband James E. “Red” Tregre by second marriage, parents Sylvester and Daisy Guidry Gaudet, brother Earl Gaudet and sisters Ruth G. Washam and Theresa Gaudet.

A Memorial Service was held on Aug. 3 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, followed by burial at St. Charles Cemetery.

Tschantz
Mildred Fabacher Tschantz died July 15, 2005 of complications from Alzheimer's disease at her home. She was 83.

Mrs. Tschantz was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 51 years. She was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene W. Tschantz Sr.; a son, Eugene W. Tschantz Jr. of Atlanta; a daughter, Karen T. Clements of Destrehan; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass was said Monday. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 1.

Alexander
Hubert “Alec” Alexander, a retired Production Technician at American Cyanimid “Cytec”, died at his home on Aug. 22, 2005. A native of Carrolton, Ala. and a resident of Luling for the past 50 years, he was 76.

He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force as a navigator.

He was preceded in death by parents, Hubert, Sr. and Elizabeth Nettles Alexander; and son, Duane Rabalais Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Delores Rabalais Alexander; son Rickie Alexander; daughters Darlena Buras, Stephanie Delatte and Kris Garcia; sister Elizabeth Pennington; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation was held on Friday and will be held today from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Funeral services will be today at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. D. Shane Dismuke officiating. Entombment in the St. Charles Mausoleum in Luling. H.C. Alexander Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Barr
Marsha Morton Barr, a native of Hazard, Ky and resident of Luling, died on Aug. 16, 2005. She was 52 years old.

Mrs. Barr was raised in Pearl, Miss. and lived in Luling for 22 years. She was a dedicated volunteer for school and youth sports organizations and served as a member or officer of several PTAs and sports booster clubs. She was named St. Charles Rotary Club Citizen of the Year for 2005 in recognition of her years of service to the community.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis E. Barr, son Stephen A. Barr, daughter Shelby L. Barr, brother Mike Kunst of Palm Springs, Ca., sister Deanne Butler of Florence, Miss., and nieces Michelle Harvey of Lakewood, Ca. and Melinda Sifford of Phoenix, Ariz.

A visitation was held at Mothe Funeral Home in Marrero on Aug. 18, followed by funeral services. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Charles Parish Recreation Department.

Brown
Virgil Brown, a native of Kentwood and resident of Ama, died on Aug. 1, 2005. He was 75 years old.

He was husband of Beatrice Zeringue Brown, son of the late William and Alma Dillon Brown, father and father-in-law of Wanda and Walter Hebert of Ama, Delcie and Ron Adams of Hahnville, Wade Brown and Ricky Brown of Ama, brother and brother-in-law of Kelly Brown of Gonzales, Leo Ricks of Boliver and the late Delcie Hyde, Maxine Ricks and Zula Walls. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held on Aug. 3 at Bible Center church in Luling, followed by burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft.

Charles
Lydia Marie Williams Charles, a retired school bus driver, died on Aug. 15, 2005 at her home in St. Rose of cardiac arrest. She was 66. Ms. Charles was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Rose for 48 years.

She is survived by her two sons, Wilfred Lincoln Charles Jr. of Breaux Bridge and Chester Charles of Dallas; five daughters, Valerie Williams, Lynette Charles, Donna Woolford of Dallas, Sharon Kelly of Kenner and Sherry Stephen of Jackson ville, Fla.; four stepsons, Herman Charles, Arthur Lee Jones, Lynell Charles and Everette Euguene; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Marbley; a brother, Rufus Williams of Destrehan; two sisters, Mary Louise Davis of Long Beach, Calif., and Doris Marbley; 38 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held on Aug. 19 at at Mount Zion Baptist Church, in St. Rose. followed by burial in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Clulee
Lionel Clulee, a commercial fisher, died on Aug. 14, 2005 of a heart attack at St. Charles Parish Hospital in Luling. He was 63.

Mr. Clulee was born in Gheens and lived in Boutte for 16 years. He is survived by his wife, Janice Terrebonne Clulee; two sons, Bryce Joseph Clulee and Brad Fenton Clulee; a daughter, Loni Ann Clulee Monot; two brothers, Charles Clulee Jr. and Neal Joseph Clulee; and two sisters, Marlene Clulee Savoie and Jo Ann Clulee Schexnayder.

A service was held on Aug. 15 at the Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Dasch
Daris David “Big D” Dasch, Jr., a native and resident of Paradis, died on Aug. 2, 2005. He was 47 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Detillier Dasch, father Daris D. Dasch Sr., daughter Merielle Ray, sister Audrey Lancaster and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Dempster Dasch, and brother, Kenny Dasch.

A memorial service was held on Aug. 4 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis.
