Amanda Ladner Bowen

Amanda Ladner Bowen, 34 years old of Loranger, died Saturday, September 26, 2009, at University Hospital in New Orleans.

She was born on Tuesday, June 17, 1975, in Gulf Port, Mississippi, daughter of Glenda Cuevas and Ronald Ladner.

Surviving are her husband, Jake Bowen; daughter, Jesenda Louise Bowen; 2 sons, Jessie Jasper Bowen and Jezden James Bowen; sister, Kaitlen Ladner; brother, Jonathan Ladner; and paternal grandmother, Frankie Ladner.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, J. E. Ladner; maternal grandmother, Wilma Cuevas; maternal grandfather, Levance Cuevas; and uncle, Elvis Cuevas.

Friends will be received Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at the Loranger United Methodist Church from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Visitation will continue at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Deschner officiating.

interment will follow in the Loranger Community Cemetery in Loranger.

Christine Eve Ciolino

Christine Eve Ciolino was born on June 21, 1947 in Sorrento, La. and Passed away at the age of 62 on September 27, 2009 in Hammond, La.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Ciolino; a son, Brett Kling and wife, Christy Kling, 2 daughters, Summer Duhe and husband, Brandon Duhe; Sara Ciolino and husband, Jaimie Callender; a grandson, B.J. Kling, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Brittany Kling; seven brothers and sisters, Patsy Jumonville, Angela Perrilloux, O’Neil Kling, Eddie Kling, Terri Alvaro, Toni Kling and Traci Quave.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John D. Kling, Sr. and Margie Mae Kling, a brother, John D. Kling, Jr., and a sister, Rebecca Kraft.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Geisler Funeral Home in Ponchatoula from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. until the service at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

interment will follow in Wetmore Cemetery.

Kylen Terron McClendon

Kylen Terron McClendon, 8 months, Hammond, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans.

Survivors include parents, Tyrone McClendon Sr. and LaToya J. McClendon; sister Kyla and brother Tyrone Jr.; grandparents, Louis and Oristine McClendon, Lester Jr. and Helen Johnson ; godparents, Arnettar Faust, Karen and Damond Johnson , Aaron Johnson .

Preceded in death by great-grandparents, Olivia and Brisco Henderson, Viola and Hulus McClendon, Lester Sr. and Shirley Johnson , and Mabel and John Underwood.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 29, 5-8 p.m., at N.A. James Funeral Home.

The funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 30, 11 a.m., at Greenfield Missionary Baptist Church, with services conducted by Pastor Jerry Hanible.

N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond, is in charge of arrangements.

Linda Marie Hoyt

Linda Marie Hoyt, 40 years old of Springfield, LA, died Monday, August 24, 2009, at her residence.

She was born on Thursday, April 24,1969, in Hammond.

Surviving are husband, Willie C. Hoyt Jr.; daughter, Linda Hoyt; son, Jessie Hoyt; mother, Linda Taylor Oliphant; 3 brothers, Toby Oliphant, Archie Oliphant and Kenneth Heck; 2 sisters, Veronica McMorris and Janet Aime; grandchildren, Linda and Rachel Hoyt.

She is preceded in death by father, Arthur Oliphant; infants Willie Hoyt III and Christopher Hoyt.

Visitation will be graveside on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Courtney Cemetery in Holden from 12:00p.m. until 1:00p.m.with services at 1:00p.m.

Mildred Hazel Kerwin

Mildred Hazel Kerwin Passed away on August 24, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Wife of the late Julius Kerwin and a resident of Slidell, LA since Hurricane Katrina. She was 83 years old. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Rebecca Bowman. Beloved mother of Dianne Kerwin Dupont (Wayne), and Sharon Kerwin Verges(Wayne). Grandmother of Kerrie Dupont Jones (David), Douglas Dupont (Kim) and Jeffery Dupont (Heather). Great-grandmother of Daniel & Jordan Jones; Deston, Kaden and Brayson Dupont; Kelsey Dauzat; and Julien Dupont. Sister of Shirley Doss, Wesley Bowman and the late Earl Bowman, Clarence Bowman and Merlene Bowman Chapman. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation and funeral at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, LA from 10:00 a.m. until the services at 2:00. interment will follow at the Durbin Cemetery. The family would like to sincerely thank Memorial Hospice for their loving care during her illness.

Grace Lato Lamonte

Grace Lato Lamonte accepted her call to heaven on Sunday, August 23, 2009. She was a longtime resident of Hammond, a charter member of Harvest Family Church and a member of the Y-Knots square dancing group. Grace is the daughter of Mary Lato and the late Paul Lato.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Anthony "Tony" Lamonte; children, Ricky and wife Nan, Cindy and husband Dennis, Theresa and husband Marion, John; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from Harvest Family Church, on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the church on Friday, August 28th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday beginning at 8:00 a.m. until the funeral service time. Pastor Bray Sibley and Pastor Eddie Robertson will officiate the services and entombment will follow in Rose Memorial Mausoleum.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home of Hammond.

Lucius D. O'Neill

Lucius D. O'Neill, 47 years old of Springfield, LA, died Friday, August 14, 2009,at his residence.

He was born on Friday, October 27, 1961, in Hammond.

Surviving are son & daughter-in-law, Owen Wayne and Tasha O'Neill; son, Christopher Art O'Neill; daughter Dena Renee Sullivan; mother, Alice Durbin O'Neill; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Sylvia and Allen Settoon and Ginger and Ronnie Mills; grandchildren, Bishop, Presley, Gracie and Owen Dustin, Bradley, Dillion, and Kaitlyn.

He is preceded in death by father, Owen O'Neill; brothers, Owen and Roy Lee O'Neill.

Friends will be received Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 10:00a.m. until services.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel, Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at 1:00p.m.

interment will follow in the Gatlin Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana 70401.

Justin Stark McKinney

Justin Stark McKinney, 23 years old of Ponchatoula, LA, died Sunday, August 16, 2009, in Ponchatoula.

He was born on Wednesday, August 21, 1985.

He graduated from Ponchatoula High, was on the Football team and played Dixie League basketball and baseball.

Surviving are father, Barney McKinney; mother, Jackie Ivey McKinney; son Bryce Jarod McKinney; grandparents, Edward and Martha Greer McKinney and Houston and Jo Smith Ivey; great-grandmother, Minnie James Smith; Bryces mother, Alicia Morales.

He is preceded in death by brother, Jarod Wayne McKinney.

Friends will be received Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, from 6:00p.m. until 10:00p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00a.m. until services.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel Thursday, August 20, 2009, at 11:00a.m.

interment will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454.

Dolores Rita Theriot Watts

Dolores Rita Theriot Watts, 77, of Ponchatoula, died Sunday, August 16, 2009,surrounded by family and friends in North Oaks Medical Center. She was born November 9, 1931, in Hammond, daughter of the late Hannon and Ella Marie Legendre Theriot, and beloved wife of the late Newman Watts. Mrs. Watts was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tangipahoa volunteers for Family and Community (Westward Ho) and for forty plus years a member of a local Canasta Club.

Surviving are her daughter, Susan McAlister of Ponchatoula; 4 sons, Albert "AL" Watts of Ponchatoula, David Watts of Amite, Eddie Watts of Ponchatoula, and Mark Watts of Ponchatoula; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Mary Theriot of Ruston, and Earl and Barbara Theriot of Ponchatoula; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula from 6 pm until 9 pm, and after 8 am on Wednesday til 9:40 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at 10 am, with Fr. John Sims, O.P. officiating

interment will follow in the Ponchatoula Cemetery.

Floyd Allison Coalwell

Floyd Allison Coalwell, 70 years old of Lacombe, Louisiana , died Monday, August 17, 2009, at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, May 17, 1939, in Janesville, Wisconsin, son of the late Gerald Coalwell and Austa Stephan Coalwell.

He graduated from Delgado Community College with honors. Mr. Coalwell was a member of Mandeville American Legion Post 415. He was a retired Offshore Worker. Mr. Coalwell was previously employed with Quatroy's Hardware over 10 years.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Coalwell: son and daughter -in-law, Edward and Marie Coalwell of Metairie; daughters, B. Katherine and Pamela Coalwell, both of Lacombe; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Paul Hebert of Lacombe, sister and brother-in-law, Judi and William Hand of Picayune, MS; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Peggy Pearson of Lacombe, Johnny and Audrey Hays of Picayune, MS, and Kenneth and Pam Hays, of Tennessee; 2 adopted daughters, Mary Lee, of Oregon, and Jennifer Nichol, of Kansas; 4 granddaughters, Michelle Hebert, Allison Hebert, Hannah Coalwell, and Nicole Welch; 2 grandsons, Owen and Zane Coalwell.

Friends will be received Saturday, August 22, 2009, at the Tammany Oaks Church of Christ - 3700 Highway 59 - Mandeville, LA, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m., with Elder Ambrose Ramsey and Pastor Stan Helton officiating. interment will follow in the Toomer Cemetery in Lacombe.

Robert Norman (R.J.) Jr.

Robert Norman (R.J.) Jr., 79 yrs. old of Springfield, LA died Monday, August 16, 2009 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Born May 28, 1930 to the late Robert Morris Norman and Ogretta Dunn Norman.

Survived by his wife Pearleain Caleb Norman, 2 sons, Larry (Daisy) Norman Robert III (Charlene) Norman; 2 daughters: Linda (Randy) Key, Velvilane (Alfred) Reed; 3 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters: Betty Brown, Barbara (Cleveland) Austin, Alice Gibbs, Ada (Al) Allen, Delores (Bob) Lewis, Ruby Anderson; 2 brothers: Alonzo (Aneice) Norman, Alex Norman.

The funeral service will be held at Galilee Baptist Church located in Springfield, LA on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11 a.m.; Pastor Warren D. Richard, officiating.
