Louis Cochran "L.C." Heintz

Louis Cochran "L.C." Heintz died on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Christwood Retirement Home in Covington, LA. Born on May 12, 1918 to the late Lucie Toujan Heintz and Ludwig Cochran Heintz, MD. L.C. was married to the late Ellen Mary Riggs Heintz for 62 years. The brother of the late Mignon Lucie Heintz, Dr. Audrey Ursla Heintz Price, Ramona Delores Heintz Hattier and Jack Hilaire Heintz, he is survived by two daughters, Lucie Heintz Walters and Susan Heintz Phillips, his son-in-law Troy Phillips; one son, Ludwig Cochran Heintz, MD and daughter-in-law Beth Beyl Heintz. He was a caring and devoted grandfather to Marty L. Magnani, Summer Magnani Lumino, Skyler R. Courtney, Lindsay Riggs Walters, Ludwig C. Heintz II, Laura H. Prisco, Caroline J. Heintz, Forrest Riggs Heintz, Elliott B. Heintz and William T. Heintz. He is also survived by four great grandchildren: Amanda Cozette Lumino, Kyle Isaac Heintz, Louis Cochran Heintz and Joseph Michael Prisco III.

L.C. was an Army veteran of WW II and worked for many years as a sales consultant for NOPSI in New Orleans.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours will begin at 9:00 AM. interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens will follow services. Memorial donations may be made to the Covington Food Bank, 840 N. Columbia St., Covington, LA 70433. (www.foodbankofcovington.org).

Rebecca Ann "Becky" Heath Nicholson

Lost her long battle with cancer at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at her residence near Independence, LA. She was a native of Kennesaw, GA. Age 68 years. Her hobbies were cooking, taking care of her many pets and gardening. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 2 p.m. until religious services at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009. Services conducted by Rev. Bobby Joe Carroll. Survived by husband, Edwin Columbus Nicholson of Independence, LA; 1 daughter, Beverly Ann Vallee and her husband, David Michael Vallee of Luling, LA; 1 son, Charles Edwin Nicholson and his wife, Lisa Fletcher Nicholson of River Ridge, LA; 1 granddaughter, Alyce Devah Friloux of Franklinton, LA; 1 great granddaughter, Braelyn Jade Johnson . Preceded in death by her father, Willy Heath. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to cancer research or an animal shelter of your choice.

Clarice Nichols Pruitt

Mrs. Clarice Nichols Pruitt, 76 years old of Loranger, Passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, August 19, 2009, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Friday, September 16, 1932, in Louin, Mississippi, daughter of the late G. A. and Susan Malvina McNeil Nichols. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be sadly missed by all that knew her.

Surviving are her daughter & son-in-law, Genece and Nelson Doolittle; grandchildren and their spouses, Carlos and Rachel Doolittle, Christy and Stanley Robertson, Patrice Doolittle, Dion and Jenee Doolittle, Daniel Doolittle; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Kasey, Brayden and Blake Doolittle, Megan Robertson; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Charles DePhillips; niece, Brenda Hall and her family ; nephew, Lynn and Natalie DePhillips and their family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Byron Pruitt and sister and brother-in-law, Nyda and Douglas Hall; nieces, Alice and JoBeth Hall; nephew, James Hall.

Friends will be received Saturday, August 22, 2009, from 11:00 am until the service begins at 1:00 pm at the Oak Grove Church of God in Loranger.

interment will follow in the Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of North Oaks Hospice for the wonderful care they recieved.

Joyce Michelle "Shelly" Sibley

Joyce Michelle "Shelly" Blackwell Sibley was born on March 22, 1983 and Passed away on August 20, 2009 in Hammond. She was 26, a native of Hattiesburg and a resident of Amite.

Shelly is survived by her parents, Archie and Ann Blackwell, Amite; a sister, Cindy Kay Parnell and husband, Frank, Jr., Kentwood; 1 niece, Shelby Parnell; 2 nephews , Tanner Boyd and Justin Parnell all of Kentwood

Visitation will be at the Grace Independent Baptist Church, on Hwy. 1064,East of Natalbany, on Friday, August 21, 2009 after 6:00 p.m. until Religious Services on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., with Bro. Bobby Dansby, officiating. interment in the Amite Memorial Gardens.

Preceded in death by grandparents, Archie and Lena Blackwell

Eula Bruce Mansuy

Eula Bruce Mansuy was born on March 30, 1925, Passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at North Oaks Medical. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Walter Mansuy. Mother Thomas J. Bruce (wife Belinda), Stefanie Addison (husband Doyle) and the late Cherly Ann Mansuy. Daughter of the late Casimir and Vivian Bruce. Sister of Rolly (wife Kathy), Gertrude Cheramie, Mable Magallanes, Emelda Adams, Mary Lou Ditta, and Emma Plaisance (husband Esso). Sister-in-laws Carol Perez (husband Emilo), Diane LaGranger. Grandmother of Dalton Addison, Danielle Stallings, Ryan, Tommy Jr., and the late Torrie and Darnell Bruce. Great-grandmother of Austin and Keleigh Stallings, Victoria and Tommy Bruce III. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, Dr. Rodney Taylor officiating, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 1PM. interment at Westlawn Memorial Park, Grenta, LA. James Arron Randol

Age 20 and a resident of Franklinton, Louisiana , he died at 4:00 pm Wednesday August 19, 2009 after an automobile accident in St. Tammany Parish. Arron was a 2008 graduate of Franklinton High School who enjoyed playing practical jokes and spending time with his family and friends. He loved watching wrestling and having fun in the mud. Arron was a friend to all who knew him.

He is survived by his parents Richard Randol and Melissa Adams of Franklinton, LA and Jennifer and Sherman Smith of Roxie, MS, sisters Le-ann Randol of Roxie, MS, McKenzie Polkey, Cameron Polkey both of Franklinton, LA, brothers Tylar Randol of Roxie, MS, Shane Randol, Coy Randol, Nicholas Polkey all of Franklinton, LA, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ely Randol of Franklinton, LA and Gayle Penton of Franklinton, LA, special friend Mitch Jenkins. Also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. He was preceded in death by grandmother Sue Cooper, great-grandparents James and Alkalene Randol, Martin and Lora Penton, and Dorothy Cooper, and a great friend Sean Touchstone

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday August 22nd from 4 pm until 9 pm and after 10 am on Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Hamilton and Rev. Charlie Seals officiating.

Burial will follow in the Wilmer Baptist Church Cemetery.

David Lee Sibley

David Lee Sibley, a firefighter, was born on September 25, 1979 Passed away at 10:57 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 29, a native of Hammond and a resident of Independence.

David is survived by his parents, Clayton" Booger" and Lynda Davis Sibley, Amite; 2 brothers, Darren Sibley, Amite and Daniel Sibley and fianc/, Amanda Wright both of Amite; grandparents, Huey and Doris Davis, Amite and Lorena Sibley, Pine Grove; numerous aunts, uncles and friends.

Preceded in death by grandfather, Jimmie R. Sibley and wife, Shelly Sibley.

Visitation will be at McKneely & Vaughn Funeral Home, Amite, on Saturday, August 22, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at the Hillsdale Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until Religious Service at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Mike Woodard and Bro. Darryl Miller officiating. interment at Pine Grove Methodist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Sibley, Joey Sibley, Jason Sibley, Chauncey Sibley, Charlie Sibley, II & Timothy Sibley. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert King & Buddy Fitzhugh.

Patricia Ann Valenti

Patricia Ann Valenti, 66 years old of Hammond, Louisiana , died Thursday, August 20, 2009. She was born on Friday, July 16, 1943, in Hammond, Louisiana , daughter of the Betty Powers Warner Wood and the late Thomas Colton Warner Jr. Surviving are her husband, Tony Valenti; 2 sons, Chad Valenti and Shawn Valenti; daughter, Toni Ann Dorman; 7 grandchildren, Chad Valenti Jr., Jennifer Frazier, Steven Valenti, Blair Valenti, Blake Valenti, Jaden Parsons and Kelsey Parsons; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Thomas Colton Warner III and Olia "Ray" Warner; 2 sisters, Catherine Elizabeth Warner Giluso and Norma Gayle Warner Elk; 3 stepsisters Becky Wood Creel, Barbara Wood Smith and Belinda Wood Bickham.

She is preceded in death by father Thomas Colton Warner Jr.and her step-father Thomas Edward Wood.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Services will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Sunday, August 23, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., with Dr. Rodney Taylor officiating.

interment will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ruby Marie Henderson Campbell

Age 76, a native of Independence and longtime resident of Hammond, Mrs. Marie Passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at her residence. She was a longtime member of Happywoods Church of God and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, E.A. "Buddy" Campbell, Jr.; children, Peggy Lou Rolling and husband Mark, E.A. "Bud" Campbell III and wife Patti, Melanie Sledge and husband Scott; eight grandchildren, John Mark and wife Rachael, Conrad and fianc/ Deanna, Caitlin, Brandon, Katie, Ann-Marie, Amelia and Camp; two great-grandchildren, Malyn and Lily Grace. Mrs. Marie is also survived by her twin brother, Roy "Sonny" R. Henderson, Jr. and wife Carol, along with special friends, Wynne Anne, Marilyn and Sydney; her square dancing family, church family and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Marie in death were her parents, Roy Robinson Henderson, Sr. and Ruby Marie Sullivan Henderson; siblings, Louise Callihan, Buddy Henderson, Lena Mae Sylvest.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Sunday, August 23rd from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service time. Pastor Rob Weathersby will officiate the services and interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Marie to North Oaks Hospice, P.O. Box 2668, Hammond La 70404 or Happywoods Church of God, 42418 South Range Rd., Hammond La 70403.

Mrs. Evelyn S. Lea

Mrs. Evelyn S. Lea a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother Passed away at 2:06 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2009 at the North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. She was 85, a native of Stoney Point and a resident of Amite. Mrs. Evelyn was the oldest living member of the Chesbrough Baptist Church.

She is survived by 4 sons, Ralph J. "Joe" Lea and wife Nicky, Denham Springs, Michael G. "Cokey" Lea, Baton Rouge, James F. "Jimmy" Lea and wife Cindy, Hammond, and David L. Lea, Jackson , MS; a sister, Bessie Knight, Pine; 10 grandchildren, Kelly E. Harris, Wendy P. Lea, JoAnn Lea, Nicole Lea, Amy J. Lea, Michael G. Lea, II, Chris Lea, Josh Lea, Ben Lea & Quinten Lea; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be at the McKneely & Vaughn Funeral Home, Amite, on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until Religious Services at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home Chapel with Bro. Dennis Walker officiating. interment in the Hyde Cemetery.

Nat Henry Peco

Mr. Nat Henry Peco, 92 years old of Hammond, died Saturday, August 22, 2009, in North Oaks Medical Center.

He was born on Monday, May 7, 1917, in Hammond, son of the late Marion and Vita Capaci Pecoraro.

He was a longtime strawberry farmer and the owner and operator of Nat's Barber Shop in Covington. Mr. Peco was a member of the Knights of Columbus, John F. Kennedy council number 2952. He was a US Army veteran of WW II and a member of the VFW in Hammond.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Pat J. Peco; son & daughter-in-law, Vic and Virginia Guiffreda Peco; daughter, Nathalie Peco Bates; 5 grandchildren, Kelli Bankston Colona, Jenny Bankston, Greg Peco, Patti Bankston, Mary Claire Peco; 5 great-grandchildren, Parker Colona, Piper Colona, Ethan DeBarraicua, Mazlin White and Jonas DeBarraicua.

He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Paul "Cookie" Bates; 3 brothers, Ben, Ralph "Bill", Peter Peco; 4 sisters, Mary P. Coniglio, Anna P. Crocker, Rose P. Zumo and Janie P. Leto.

Friends will be received Sunday, August 23, 2009, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 8:00 am until 9:45 am at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.

Services will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Monday, August 24, 2009, at 10:00 am.

interment will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hammond.

Brian Thomas LaDew

Brian Thomas LaDew, 37 years old of Ponchatoula, died Friday, August 14, 2009, at his residence.

He was born on Monday, December 6, 1971, in Hammond.

Surviving are his mother, Sylvia Blomquist LaDew; sister, Cynthia LaDew Quinn; brother, Stephen F. LaDew, III; 3 nephews, Adam Sterling LaDew, Dustin Stephen LaDew, and Christopher Todd Cutrer; 5 nieces, Julie Keen White , Courtney Keen, Maggie Keen, Savannah Stanga, and Sierra LaDew; and ten great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Stephen F. LaDew, Jr.; sister, Lisa Renee LaDew; and brother, Charles Daniel LaDew.

Friends will be received Thursday, August 20, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the Happy Woods Church of God in Hammond with Pastor Robert Weathersby officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Happy Woods Church of God, 42418 South Range Rd., Hammond, LA 70403 or the charity of your choice.
