Floyd Allison Coalwell
Floyd Allison Coalwell, 70 years old of Lacombe, Louisiana , died Monday, August 17, 2009, at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, May 17, 1939, in Janesville, Wisconsin, son of the late Gerald Coalwell and Austa Stephan Coalwell.
He graduated from Delgado Community College with honors. Mr. Coalwell was a member of Mandeville American Legion Post 415. He was a retired Offshore Worker. Mr. Coalwell was previously employed with Quatroy's Hardware over 10 years.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Coalwell: son and daughter -in-law, Edward and Marie Coalwell of Metairie; daughters, B. Katherine and Pamela Coalwell, both of Lacombe; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Paul Hebert of Lacombe, sister and brother-in-law, Judi and William Hand of Picayune, MS; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Peggy Pearson of Lacombe, Johnny and Audrey Hays of Picayune, MS, and Kenneth and Pam Hays, of Tennessee; 2 adopted daughters, Mary Lee, of Oregon, and Jennifer Nichol, of Kansas; 4 granddaughters, Michelle Hebert, Allison Hebert, Hannah Coalwell, and Nicole Welch; 2 grandsons, Owen and Zane Coalwell.
Friends will be received Saturday, August 22, 2009, at the Tammany Oaks Church of Christ - 3700 Highway 59 - Mandeville, LA, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m., with Elder Ambrose Ramsey and Pastor Stan Helton officiating. interment will follow in the Toomer Cemetery
in Lacombe.
Robert Norman (R.J.) Jr.
Robert Norman (R.J.) Jr., 79 yrs. old of Springfield, LA died Monday, August 16, 2009 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Born May 28, 1930 to the late Robert Morris Norman and Ogretta Dunn Norman.
Survived by his wife Pearleain Caleb Norman, 2 sons, Larry (Daisy) Norman Robert III (Charlene) Norman; 2 daughters: Linda (Randy) Key, Velvilane (Alfred) Reed; 3 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters: Betty Brown, Barbara (Cleveland) Austin, Alice Gibbs, Ada (Al) Allen, Delores (Bob) Lewis, Ruby Anderson; 2 brothers: Alonzo (Aneice) Norman, Alex Norman.
The funeral service will be held at Galilee Baptist Church located in Springfield, LA on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11 a.m.; Pastor Warren D. Richard, officiating.

ALICE MARIE SIBLEY
A devoted and loving daughter, sister and friend to all, Alice Passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 7, 2009. She was born on November 21, 1966 to Howard “Red” and Bonnie Sartwell Sibley. Alice was employed with the Livingston Parish School Board System for 21 years, serving in many different capacities such as a teacher, guidance counselor, curriculum coordinator and a special needs coordinator, along with being a Louisiana Representative for the American College Testing Center (ACT). Alice along with her best friend and soul mate, Don Amos, shared many experiences together which included, flying airplanes, traveling the country, bowling, cooking, snow skiing, fishing, playing softball and even blackjack dealing. As one can see, Alice was a very gifted, talented, and unique individual, but most importantly she always included her family. If there was something that needed to be done, Alice was there to handle the challenge.
Alice will be greatly missed by her parents; best friend and soul mate, Don Amos, along with her brothers and sisters Joey and Donna, Julie, Lea and Guy. She was loved and adored by her nieces and nephews, Jacob, Amanda, Coy, Jennifer, Kerri, Elizabeth, Claudia, Allie, Ashton and Bryce.
In addition to her immediate family, Alice will also be missed by many extended family members and friends, which include but not limited to Fannie, Steve and Paschal Amos.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from Livingston Methodist Church, on Sunday, August 9, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday, August 10th from 8:00 a.m. until the funeral services at 10:00 a.m. The funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Stephen Hebert and interment will follow in Sibley Cemetery.

He was currently a resident of Denham Springs and formerly of Kentwood, LA
He was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 8, 2009. Age 79.

Service will be held at Seale Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 2:30 PM. The Clergy will be Dr. Terry Booth, Rev. Clyde Northrup, Rev. Ragan Courtney, Rev. Joe Baugh. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, in Denham Springs, LA.

Daughters-Debbie Seale and husband Mickey Seale of Denham Springs, Brenda Pettit and husband Audie Pettit of Columbus, Miss., Son-Deloy Chapman and wife Krisa Chapman of Denham Springs, Sisters-Nan Bartholomew of Amite and Ann Parsons of Amite, Sister-in-law-Lois Chapman of Baton Rouge, 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren, Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in Death by: Parents -Amos Kent and Emma Melissa Brumfield Chapman, Daughter-Melissa Jo Chapman, Brother-Shelton "Pokey" Chapman, Sister and Brother-in-law-Sybil Courtney and Frances Courtney
He was a devoted Sunday School teacher and ordained Deacon formerly of First Baptist Church in Kentwood and currently serving in Amite Baptist Church in Denham Springs. He was a member of the LA Rabbit Breeders Association. He retired from South Central Bell with 30 years of service and then worked for the LA Dept. of Agriculture.

Felix Joseph "Joe" Gaudet III, 69 years old of Independence, LA, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at his residence.
Joe was born on Friday, December 22, 1939, in New Orleans.

Surviving are 3 sons & daughters-in-law, Felix "Joey" Gaudet IV and Lisa Boudreaux Gaudet, Timothy Allen Gaudet and Angie Zerangue Gaudet, Richard Frank Gaudet and Tiffany Gaudet; brother, Ronald Frank Gaudet; 4 grandchildren, Andrew Allen Gaudet, Alex Samuel Gaudet, Joel Gaudet and Emily Jean Gaudet.
He is preceded in death by wife of 41 years, Jean Ann Vellier Gaudet; parents, Felix and Shirley Gaudet Jr..
Friends will be received Thursday, August 13, 2009, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 6:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. and on Friday from 8:00a.m. until services.

Flo Foster
Our most loved mother and grandma went to heaven on Wednesday, August 12,2009 with her family by her side. She was a resident of Springfield and owned and operated many businesses in the Baton Rouge area for several years. Ms. Flo was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Viola Randall Foster.
She is survived by her two daughters, Vi Coats-Griffin, Doraldena "Dora" Kelley and husband Kenneth; her precious grandchildren, Flo "Lil Flo" Carrigan of Albany, Mike Medeiros of San Diego, Tom-Tom Bates of Metairie, Jimbo Bates of Minnesota, Doreen and Alisha Kelley both of Springfield, Carlee Coats Jr. of Baton Rouge, Mark and Thomas Griffin, Marla Johnson ; her adored great-grands, Stephen Mitchell, Katie Carrigan, "Princess" Lilly, Jambo and Logan Bates, Sami and Dylan Schuler, Kenneth Hart, Kelley and Karley Baham, Lauren Bates Ali, Benay, Nicole and Kelsi Johnson , along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ms. Flo was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Coats; sons, Michael and Carlee Coats; son-in-law, Martin Griffin; grandson, Tim Griffin; brothers, Benjamin Jr., Poss, Norman and Billy Foster; an infant sister,along with her beloved sister whom she missed dearly, "Viola" Catherine and husband Clarence Brown.

in Albany on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Brother Chris Chavers.

Shanna Linn Lala, 31 years old of Ponchatoula, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009, in North Oaks Medical Center.
She was born on Tuesday, January 10, 1978, in Independence, daughter of the late Edward Luke and Carla Harrison Lala.
Surviving are her son, William Trent Lala; 2 daughters, Emily Brecher, Celina Linnette Hoover; grandmother, Mary Harrison; aunts, Nancy Harrison, Paula Brecher; uncles, Malcolm Harrison, Scott Brecher; cousin, Jessica Brecher and a niece, Logan Brecher.
She is preceded in death by grandfather; Autry E. Harrison; and an uncle, David Wayne Harrison.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Ponchatoula Cemetery
on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at 10:00 am with the interment to follow.

Died on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. He was a native and resident of Independence, LA. Age 83 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Saturday. Services conducted by Rev. Randall Kevin Overstreet, 49 years old of Roseland, Louisiana , died Sunday, August 9, 2009, at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, March 23, 1960, in Jackson ville, FL, son of the late Kenneth M.Overstreet, Sr. and Beverly Ballard Overstreet. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran. Surviving are his 3 brothers, Kenneth M. Overstreet Jr., James David Overstreet, Earl Daniel Overstreet; 2 sisters, Linda Gail Overstreet Reagan and Brenda Overstreet Doughty. A Memorial Service will be held at Mt Nebo Baptist Church, 64671 Highway 1054, Roseland, LA 70456, on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at 5:00 pm, with Rev. Starrett Cleveland officiating. interment will follow in the Amite Cemetery, at a later date.

Janet M. Phipps
Age 91 and a resident of Pensacola, Janet Passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. She was born in Hammond to the late George and Sarah Camelo Miller. Janet was retired from J.F.K. International Airport after serving 30 years as an administrative secretary.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Janet in death were her husband, James L. Phipps along with three brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be at Rose Memorial Cemetery
on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Deacon Wallace Gainey.

Dan "June" Barnes Jr.
On the first day of August 2009, the beloved Dan "June" Barnes Jr. parted this life.
Sixty-four year old Dan Barnes Jr. was born on February 27, 1945. He was a resident of Natalbany, LA, where he was residing before his death. He was the son of the late Rev. Dan Barnes Sr. and Augusta Washington Barnes. His niece Vivian Richardson also preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish: a Devoted Wife: Tammy Barnes, 3 daughters: Trina Johnson , Lolitha Slack (Ronnie Slack), Jacquelynn Barnes; 5 sons: Warren Whittington (Kelly Whittington), George Barnes, Kenneth Barnes, Travis Jones, and Dan Barnes III.
