Paula Jean Shaw Wall

Mrs. Paula Jean Shaw Wall a loving mother, grandmother & great-grandmother was born on October 26, 1927 and Passed away at 10:28 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2009 at her residence. She was 81, a native of McComb, MS and a resident of Kentwood. Mrs. Paula Jean was bookkeeper for the Kentwood Livestock Sales for many years.

Mrs. Paula Jean is survived by a daughter, Margaret Susan Wall; 3 sons, Wilton J. "Jimmy" Wall, Sr. and wife, Suzanne, Winston G. "Gene" Wall and wife, Belen, & Michael A. "Mike" Wall all of Kentwood; 8 grandchildren, Wilton J. Wall, Jr., William J. Wall, Byron J. Statham, Aaron P. Statham, Michael S. Wall, Rachel B. Wall, Ashley N. Wall & Jared T. Wilson; 6 great-grandchildren, Alex Wall, Josie Allen, Adrian Wall, Alison Statham, Seth Brown, & Julian Brown.

Preceded in death by her parents, Pete J. & Cordelia Brown Shaw; husband, Archie Wall; & sister, Margaret B. Boudreaux.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood with Rev. Joey Miller officiating. interment in the Woodland Cemetery.

Huey Elizabeth East Waller

(January 17, 1928 - July 31, 2009).

She lived her life to do for others and enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She Passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2009 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. She was a native of Pine Ridge, LA and a resident of Kentwood, LA. Age 81 years. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 8 a.m. on Monday until religious services at 2 p.m. Monday. Services conducted by Rev. Kevin Smith, Elder Joe Nettles, and Elder Heath Williams. interment Tangipahoa Cemetery, Tangipahoa, LA.

She is survived by her husband, Ripley Waller, Tangipahoa; daughter, Paulette Nettles and husband, James, Vidalia, GA; 2 sons, Floyd Waller and his wife, Charlene, Kentwood, and Mark Waller and his wife, Susan, Amite; 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth Nettles, Jason Waller, Joseph Nettles, Stacy Waller Guillory, Sharon Nettles Williams, Angela Nettles Atkinson, Alexander Waller and Maxwell Waller; 14 great-grandchildren; and her long time friend, Mrs. Floal Simmons, Independence. She was preceded in death by her 5 sisters, Jessie Travis, Leo Ensign, Margie Peavey, Willye East, and Jeanne Morgan; 2 brothers, Lidge East and John East; parents, Floyd and Betty East.

Wanda Carolyn Blount

Age 57 and a resident of Holden, Wanda Passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister.

Wanda is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dwight Blount; her only daughter, Kimberly Dees and husband Drew. She is also survived by her mother, Polly Harrison; sister, Margaret Harmon; brother, Richard Harrison and wife Monica, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Wanda in death were her grandson, Robert Earl Dees and father, T.C. Harrison.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 12 noon, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. The services will be conducted by Rev. Tim Norris and interment will follow in Dees Family Cemetery in Wilmer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home of Hammond.

Janis Elaine Haddox

Janis Elaine Haddox, 50, of Loranger, died Friday, July 31, 2009, in North Oaks Medical Center.

She was born on Friday, July 31, 1959, in Memphis, TN.

Surviving are her daughter, Ivy Nicole "Nikki" Haddox, and fiance, David Moore; son, Charles "C.J." Haddox; brother, Tommy Haddox; and father, George Haddox.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Haddox.

Friends will be received Monday, August 3, 2009, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with services begining at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Linda Mae Kelley

Linda Mae Kelley, 54 years old of Zachary, LA, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at her residence.

She was born on Friday, May 20, 1955, in Independence.

Surviving are husband, Michael D. "Mike" Kelley; father and step-mother, Frank and Lois Drury Sr.; daughter & son-in-law, Bridgette Burns Shiflet and Daniel Shiflet; son-in-law, Curtis McLin; brother & sister-in-law, Gary and Cindy Drury Sr.and Frank and Becky Drury Jr.; step-son and his wife, Shawn and Cherie Kelley; step-son, Jason Kelley; grandchildren, Justin and Bailey Hill, Skylar and Brandy McLin, Chandler, Karsyn and Kendal Kelley. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by mother, Carlsie "Pert" James Drury; daughter, Christy Burns McLin.

Friends will be received Sunday, August 2, 2009, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, in Ponchatoula from 6:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. and on Monday from 8:00a.m. until services.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel Monday, August 3, 2009, at 11:00a.m.

interment will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454.

Tracy Ivy Williams

Tracy Ivy Williams, 50, a lifelong resident of the Bolivar community, was born December 14, 1958 and Passed away on August 1, 2009.

Tracy was strong in his faith as a Christian. One of his favorite verses was Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." He attended New Beginnings Baptist Church and he was an ordained deacon and served as a Sunday School Superintendant for many years. Tracy's faith in the Lord never waivered and he was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.

He worked for the Dept. of Social Services and retired after 27 years as a supervisor. Tracy was a graduate of Chesbrough High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. He was also an enthusiastic LSU Tiger fan and he enjoyed making gifts for family and friends in his woodworking shop.

Tracy is survived by four siblings: Trudy Blades and her husband Dickie Roy, Kentwood; Kenny Williams and his wife Jackie, Kentwood; Sharon Walker and her husband Lemmie, Baton Rouge; and Linda Edwards and her husband Tommy, Baton Rouge; two nieces; Donielle Edwards, Baton Rouge; Michelle Ribera and husband Chris, Baton Rouge; three nephews; Jimmy Ray Jones and fianc/e Whitney Gill, Kentwood; Jason Edwards, Outer Banks, North Carolina; Brandt Edwards and wife Suzie, Baton Rouge; his great nieces and nephews, Elise and Christopher Ribera, Dylan and Madison Griggs, and Blake Edwards will miss their uncle Tracy. Also close friend Julie Alley.

Tracy was preceded in death by his parents Henry L. and Lucille Lewis Williams of Bolivar; his grandparents, Ivy and Lexie Crawford Lewis of Bolivar; E.A. and Dollie Martin Williams of Anacoco, La; and great niece Ainsley Marie Edwards.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ray Jones, Brandt Edwards, Jason Edwards, Mack Brown, Troy Dale Ricks, Jeff Waskom, Chris Ribera, and Hilton Miller. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy Lewis, J.C. Ricks, Gary Dees, and Dale Bond.

The family appreciates the many visits, phone calls, cards, and prayers of family and friends who brightened Tracy's days during his last lengthy hospitalization. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Peter Monteyne and the entire staff of Promise Hospital in Gonzales.

Visitation will be at McKneely & Vaughn Funeral Home, Amite, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2009 and on Monday August 3, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until Religious Services at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Varnado, Dr. Danny Smith, Bro. Johnny Smith, and Bro. Willard Carnegie, officiating. interment at Bolivar Baptist Church Cemetery, Bolivar, LA

Helen Callihan Brunner

Helen Callihan, Brunner 83, a resident of La Plantation retirement Community in Denham Springs, LA Passed away on Friday July 31, 2009. She was a retired employee of the LSU department of food science with 25 years of services as an administrative secretary where she received the LSU Outstanding Employee for Excellence Award.

A memorial service will be held at Ponchatoula Cemetery on Tuesday August 4, 2009 at 10:00am. Entombment will follow. She is survived by her brother, Clinton "Bud" Callihan; devoted niece Sandra C. Varnado and many more nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Albert; precious cat, Lucky; mother and father, Herman and Julia Callihan; sisters, Frances C. Burt and Edna C. Dilly; brothers, Clifton, Sr., Lionel, Oliver and Lester Callihan.

Special thanks to the staff, employees and friends at La Plantation retirement Community and The Guest House. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart and Lung Associations.

F. Fanancy "Snow" Anzalone

Dr. F. Fanancy "Snow" Anzalone, M.D., 73 years old of Independence, LA, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at North Oaks Medical Center. He was born on Tuesday, January 14, 1936, in Independence, Louisiana , son of the late Ignazio Fanancy Anzalone and the late Virginia Richardson Anzalone.

Dr. Anzalone was a devoted husband of 55 years and a loving father and grandfather. Surviving is his wife, Kathryn Kluchin Anzalone; sons & daughters-in-law, Drs. Fanancy L. & Debra Anzalone and Michael I. & Cheryl Henkel Anzalone; daughter & son-in-law, Kathy Sue & Frank Edwards; granddaughters Tiffany Anzalone Benedict (husband SPC Richard Benedict, U.S. Army), Tracy Anzalone, and Kathryn Jean, Caroline, and Elizabeth Edwards; and brother & sister-in-law, Phillip I. & Nell Anzalone.

Dr. Anzalone graduated from Independence High School in 1953. He attended Louisiana State University and was a member of the LSU Football team from 1953 to 1956. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in June 1960 and completed his General Practice Internship from Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans in 1961.

Dr. Anzalone opened his medical practice in Independence in 1961. He was a staff member of 7th Ward Hospital (North Oaks Medical Center) and served as Chief of Staff in 1976. In 1975, he began working at Southeastern Louisiana University's Health Center and was the Medical Director from 1996 until his death. Dr. Anzalone was also a physician at the Outpatient Medical Clinic at Lallie Kemp Charity Hospital and was the Independence High School football team doctor from 1961 until his death. Since 1996, he was the physician at the North Oaks Family Medicine Clinic in Independence.

During 1966 to 1968 Dr. Anzalone was a Flight Surgeon with the United States Army Medical Corps in the Republic of Vietnam and Fort Stewart, Georgia. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, and Air Medal with 8 Oak Leaf Clusters.

Dr. Anzalone has served on the Board of Directors for First Guaranty Bank for many years and has been a member of numerous Medical Associations. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 109 and Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church of Independence.

Friends will be received Wednesday, July 15, 2009, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Independence with services beginning at 1:00 p.m.

interment will follow in the Colonial Cemetery, Independence.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mater Dolorosa Catholic School, P O. Box 380 Independence, LA or to St Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School, 14520 Voss Drive Hammond, LA.

Vicky Conn Cavaretta

Vicky Conn Cavaretta, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother was born on October 15, 1957 and Passed away at 8:40 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at her residence. She was 51, a native of West Palm Beach, FL and a resident of Amite.

Vicky is survived by her husband, Vincent Cavaretta, Jr., Amite; a son, Vincent "Trey" Cavaretta, III and wife, Heather, Amite; a sister, Kathy Alford, Amite; a brother, Tom Conn and wife, Ruth, Lexington, KY; a grandson, Vincent "Corey" Cavaretta, Amite; a granddaughter, Samantha Mire, Amite; 3 sisters-in-law, Sarah Lee, Zachary, Jo Ann Booty and husband, Lindsey, Amite, and Judy Cavaretta, Amite; also numerous nieces, nephews and a great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis M. and Ellen Lynch Conn.

Juanita Faye Persing Delvisco

Juanita Faye Persing Delvisco, of Slidell, LA died Saturday, July 11, 2009; Beloved Wife of the late Salvadore Delvisco; Mother of Salvador "Sonny" Delvisco, Stephen Delvisco, Sharon Delvisco, and Teresa Delvisco Gambino; daughter of the late: Delbert and Ida Persing. Also survived by three grandchildren: Anthony "Tony" Delvisco, Samantha Gambino, and Alex Stewart. Aged 65 years.

A native of Tickfaw, Louisiana , and a resident of Slidell for the past 45 years. For several decades she was a girls softball coach for Slidell Bantam Baseball Association. She was an employee of Wal Mart for the past four years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (In Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, LA on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 11:00 A.M.

interment will be in ForestLawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 9:00 am.

Donations to American Cancer Society preferred, in lieu of flowers.
