Michael "Mike" Goudeau

Michael "Mike" Goudeau, 52, Passed away June 6, 2009. He was a native of Hammand, LA and a resident of Thibodaux, LA. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 9am at Hollygardens Cemetery in Hammond, LA. He is survived by his father, James L. Goudeau, brothers, Allen Maurice Goudeau and John B. Goudeau, sister, Carey Goudeau and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother JohnnyLou Hinson Goudeau and brother Daniel Pierre Goudeau.

Philip A. Gray

Died at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his residence in Kentwood, LA. He was a native of St. Helena Parish, LA. Age 70 years. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Carloss "Toni" Gray, Kentwood; son, Philip A. Gray, II, and wife, Leanna W. Gray, Ponchatoula; 2 grandchildren, Chase A. Gray and Devan L. Gray; 3 sisters, Antoinette Willson and husband, Donald Willson, Kentwood, Nancy Birch and husband, Ladell Birch, Kentwood, and Peggy Varnado and husband, Dr. Jimmie Wayne Varnado, Greensburg; sister-in-law, Kay Gray, Shreveport; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Nettie Phillips Gray; 3 brothers, James H. Gray, Huey P. Gray and Leahman P. Gray.

Visitation at Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Magnolia, MS, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday and from 8 a.m. until memorial services at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009. Services conducted by Revs. Melanie and David Lemburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Episcopal Church of Our Redeemer, P. O. Box 1001, McComb, MS 39649 or Community Care Hospice, 1007 W. Thomas St., Suite A, Hammond, LA 70401. McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, in charge of arrangements.

John E. Granger, Jr.

Age 61 and a resident of Robert, John Passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Enlow Granger; daughter, Theresa Stewart and husband Richard; son, John E. Granger III along with five grandchildren and seven siblings.

John was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce L. Granger, parents, John Granger Sr. and Esteller Bennett Granger and three siblings.

Graveside services will be held at Sandhill Cemetery in Ponchatoula on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home of Hammond.

Ruby Hines

On the tenth day of June 2009, the beloved Ruby Hines parted this life.

Fifty-three year old Ruby Hines was born on July 24, 1955 in Independence, LA. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, LA where she was residing before her death. She was the daughter of the late James Hines, Sr. and Helen Hunter Hines. Her brother, Elmer Hines, preceded her in death also.

She leaves to cherish: a devoted companion, Robert Davis Cousain (Ponchatoula, LA), one daughter, Kendra Hines, (Hammond, LA) one son: Robert Hines, (Ponchatoula, LA). Two sisters: Eunice Maxwell (Ponchatoula, LA), Audrey Celestine (Houston, TX) two brothers: James Hines (Ponchatoula, LA), Curtis Hines (Hammond, LA), 6 grandchildren, and a devoted friend: Betty Tate (Ponchatoula, LA)

The services for Ruby Hines are as followed:

Visitation: Wed., June 17, 2009: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. @ Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond. Funeral: Wed., June 17, 2009 1 p.m. @ Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond. interment: Holly Garden Cemetery, Hammond, LA. Officiating Minister: Rev. Roy Burton. Richardson Funeral Home of Hammond in charge.

Eric Landry

Age 28, Eric Passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at his residence in Holden.

Eric is survived by his wife Christina Landry and son Cayne Landry. His mother, Tracey Hoyt Carlton and husband Mike, along with his twin brother, Derek and brother Cecil Landry Jr. also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Dewayne Landry Sr.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Dr. Johnny Presley. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday June 17th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday beginning at 9:00 until the funeral service time.

Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Joseph Angelo Monistere

Age 64, a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a lifelong resident of Hammond, Joseph was called home to his heavenly Father on Saturday, June 13, 2009. Preceding him in death were his father Joe A. Monistere, mother, Josephine Milioto Monistere, infant twin brothers and a brother-in-law, James Douglas McKinney.

Working in construction management most of his life, he was a Certified Building Official for the City of Hammond and held other construction related certifications in cost engineering, green building and other types of building inspections. Joseph was a member of the American Association of Cost Engineers, National Fire Protection Association, Tangipahoa Home Builder’s Association and the Selective Service Commission of Tangipahoa.

Surviving Joseph are his wife, Pamela Bossier Monistere along with their children Daniel, Donald, Melodi, Kathryn and Lacey. "Papa Joe" leaves behind twelve grandchildren, Timothy, Chandler, Cooper, Cameron, Carrie, Candice, Daniel, Douglas, Blaine, Breland, Brady and Caleb as well as his sister, Peggy Johnson and brother, Jerome Monistere.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Fr. Justin Kauchak, O.P. interment will follow in Carter Cemetery.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond on Tuesday, June 16th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. The visitation will resume at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday from at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Joseph Monistere to the American Cancer Society, 10528 Kentshire Court, Baton Rouge, La 70810 and/or North Oaks Hospice, P.O. Box 2688, Hammond, La 70404.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home of Hammond.

Michelle Lynn Pellichino

Michelle Lynn Pellichino, 36 years old of Hammond, LA, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in North Oaks Medical Center.

Michelle was born on Tuesday, March 13, 1973, in Hammond.

Surviving are parents, Sal Pellichino and Rita Arnold Pellichino; grandmother, Myrtle Marine; aunt, Wanda McGarvey; 4 uncles, Michael Arnold, Joe Pellichino, Guy Pellichino and Ronnie Pellichino.

She is preceded in death by grandparents, Barney James Arnold, Sam Pellichino and Jenny Pellichino; uncle Barney Jr.; aunt, Josie Penzato.

Friends will be received Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 11:00 A.M. until services.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 2:00 P.M..

interment will follow in the Arnold Family Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana 70401.

Alvin "Hunter" Ramirez III

Age 17 and a resident of Holden, Hunter Passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009.

He is survived by his son, Maverick Mark Ramirez; mother, Melinda Gail Wagner; father, Alvin Ramirez, Jr. and wife Shannan. He is also survived by four siblings, Mallory Gail Ramirez, Gunnar Kayne Wagner, Brandon and Shaylee Ramirez; maternal grandparents, Linda & Gail Wagner; paternal grandparents, Alvin Ramirez Sr., Bobbie and Wayne Simmons along with extended family members.

Hunter was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, E.M. Sullivan and great aunt, Rosann Stewart.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Holden Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the church on Tuesday June 16th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service time. interment will follow in Courtney Cemetery.

Glenn Edward Viana

Glenn Edward Viana was born October 7, 1942, and Passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was 66, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Amite. Glenn is survived by two sons, John Viana of Port Orange, FL and Jean Michael Viana of Ponchatoula; one grandson, Wylee Viana of Australia; one sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Kenneth Courtney of Amite; four nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Meredith Viana. A memorial service will be held at a later date. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.

Jaynie Howard Moore Myers

Jaynie Howard Moore Myers, 84, Passed away at St. Dominic Hospital on Monday, June 15, 2009. Jaynie was born on February 11, 1925 in McComb, Mississippi, to the late Thomas Edwin and Norma Carroll Moore. She was married for 61 years to Clyde Purl Myers, who Passed away in December, 2006.

Jaynie received her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Master’s Degree in Education from Mississippi College. She was a member, Sunday School Teacher, and Reader for The Church of Christ, Scientist. Jaynie was employed as bookkeeper by Fernwood Industries and Gillis Drugstore. She was an elementary school teacher in the McComb Public Schools, and she and her husband Clyde were among the founders of Parklane Academy of which Jaynie later became Principal of Parklane Elementary. Jaynie’s special gift was teaching third graders to read, as several generations of professional adults will attest.

Jaynie’s service to her community extended far beyond her professional contributions as an educator. She was a life member of the McComb Junior Auxiliary, served as President, and was later chosen to be its Azalea Ball Queen. A Girl Scout Troop Leader and Neighborhood Chairman for many years, Jaynie along with her husband Clyde were also appreciated as unofficial chairmen of the Edgewood Neighborhood in McComb, where they hosted many memorable Edgewood holiday events in their home. Jaynie also enjoyed her days of acting in the Pike County Little Theater.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 61 years, Clyde Purl Myers, and her sister Mary Virginia Moore Davis.

She is survived by her daughter, Alison Brown and her husband Bill of Ridgeland, MS; grandchildren Russell Lee Davis, Jr. and his wife Dru of Madison, MS; Ryan Leighton Davis of Madison, MS and his fianc/e Maryanna Wallace of McComb, MS; Kathryn Carroll Lewis of Ridgeland, MS; niece Norma Carroll Ezell and her husband Gary of Madison, MS and their children of Rebecca Ezell of Madison, MS and Emily Sartin and her husband Steve and their son Duncan of Gluckstadt, MS.

Affectionately known as ‘Gain,’ Jaynie will always be remembered for her special relationship with her extended family. She and her husband Clyde fished, attended an Olympic range of sporting events, explored the western hemisphere from Alaska to the Panama Canal, and rode bicycles into their sixth decade with their grandchildren.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1PM until 2:30PM at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb. Graveside services will be 3PM at Hollywood cemetery

Michelle Lynn Pellichino

Michelle Lynn Pellichino, 36 years old of Hammond, LA, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in North Oaks Medical Center.

Michelle was born on Tuesday, March 13, 1973, in Hammond.
