LANDRY
NORCO - Lionel Joseph Landry, 95, a native of Convent and resident of Norco, died Sept. 25, 2000. He was the husband of Odelia Webre Landry and father of Eve Pollet, Leona Loupe, Doris Rizzuto and Patrick, Avis and the late Jeril, Lionel Jr. and Louis Landry. He was also the brother of the late Olive Lejeune, Agnes Guidry, Louis, Clay and Edward Landry.
He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were Sept. 28 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan.
LOVETRO
NORCO - Lucy Brettillo Lovetro, 90, a native of Bayou Goula and resident of Norco for 70 years, died Sept. 25, 2000. She was the wife of the late Carmel Lovetro Sr. and mother of Carmel Jr. and the late Kenneth and Robert Lovetro.
She was also the sister of Anna Mae Peccarro, Angelo Brettillo and the late Genevieve Bonura, Pearl Rebowe, Josephine Destefano, Congetta Cangelosi, Felecia Peccarro and Joe, Vincent and John Brettillo.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 27 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans.
NOSACKA
GRAMERCY - Stephen Anthony Nosacka, 71, a resident of Gramercy for 45 years, died Sept. 26, 2000. He was the husband of 50 years of Martha Sile Nosacka and father of Catherine Manuel and Susan, Steven, Thomas, Mark James, John and David Nosacka.
He was also the son of the late Stephen and Josephine Povolny Nosacka and brother of the late Theresa Lewis and Raymond Nosacka.
He is also survived by 20 grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 29 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.
ROTAN
LAPLACE - Charles F. Rotan, 37, a native of St. Louis, Mo., and resident of LaPlace for 10 years, died Sept. 24, 2000. He was the stepson of Jane Rotan, brother of Stephanie Fisssell, Carol Flannigan, Elaine Danner, Cheryl Young and Amy Rotan and grandson of Marge Rotan.
Memorial services were Sept. 29 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace.
ROTH
METAIRIE - Leona Vicknair Roth, 78, a native of Reserve and resident of Jefferson for 40 years, died Sept. 26, 2000. She was the wife of the late William F. Roth Jr. and mother of the late Joseph L. Bremermann. She was also the daughter of the late Maxie and Leonide Vicknair and sister of Inez Emmons and Joseph "Maxie" and Claude Vicknair.
Services were Sept. 29 in the chapel of Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
SMITH
LUTCHER - Sophia Watson Smith, 96, a native of Geismar and resident of Lutcher, died Sept. 28, 2000. She was the wife of the late Frank Smith Sr. and mother of Eunice Kirklin and Ernest "Tweed" Sr. and Frank Smith Jr. She was also the daugther of the late Handy Sr. and Julia Murphy Watson andsister of the late Charlotte Washington , Henry Carey and Clara, Henrietta, Handy Jr., Frank and Shermon Watson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at King Solomon Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher. Visitation starts at 9:30 a.m.
EDWARDS
LAPLACE - Eva "Dodo" Edwards, 92, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Nov. 29, 2001.
She is survived by four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, LaPlace, with interment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
EUGENE
NEW ORLEANS - Clarence Scott Eugene Sr., 89, a native of St. Rose and resident of New Orleans for many years, died Dec. 1, 2001. He was the the father of Onester Evans, Terry Clark, Gail Eugene-Keller, Karen Burton, Mary Harris and Tracey, Alphonse, Clifford, LaRue, Clarence, David and Barry Eugene.
He was the brother of Vera Nelson, Geneva Tillery and James Eugene Sr.
He is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was retired from Public Belt Railroad after 40 years and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Services were Dec. 5 at New Hope Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.
FINLEY
GRAMERCY - Alma Lee Finley, 86, a native of Gramercy and resident of Lutcher, died Nov. 30, 2001. She was the wife of the late Rev. Eddie Finley Sr., and mother of Emma Clark, Alvin "Bug" Brown Sr. and Allen Henry Sr.
She was the daughter of the late George and Catherine Landry Lee and sister of Irene Franklin and the late Esterine Stafford and Shirley and William Lee Jr.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild.
Services were Dec. 7 at New Zion Baptist Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.
JOHNSON
NEW ORLEANS - Junius Johnson , 82, a native and resident of Reserve, died Nov. 26, 2001.
He was the son of the late Percy and Clara Ratta Johnson and brother of Alberta and Jule Johnson .
Services were Dec. 7 at Second Nazareth Baptist Church, New Orleans, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.
JOHNSTON
METAIRIE - Rianna Josette Johnston, 19, a native of Metairie and resident of St. Rose for five years, died Dec. 4, 2001. She was the daughter of Maria Cerise and Christopher Johnston, stepmother of Will Sapia and the late Donald Cerise, sister of Christopher, George and Salvatore Cerise and stepsister of Donald Jr., Glen and the late Lindsey Cerise.
She was the granddaughter of Rose Thorstens, Richard Johnston, Janet Johnston and the late Richard Thorstens.
Services were Dec. 7 in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Kentwood Cemetery, Kentwood.
McQUATER
LUTCHER - Isaac "Pop" McQuater Jr., 84, a native of Reserve, former resident of Lutcher and resident of Reserve, died Dec. 2, 2001. He was the father of Linda Jones and Jerry Bright.
He was the son of the late Isaac Sr. and Celestine McQuater and brother of Charles and Joe McQuater and the late Mary Cain, Helen Washington and Daisy and Willie McQuater.
He was the guardian of Penny Coleman.
He is also survived by a number of grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at King Triumph Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
