SCHAFER
LAPLACE - Trey A. Schafer, 11 weeks, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Dec. 4, 2001. He was the son of Danny and Kathy Schafer and brother of Kayla and Cody Schafer.
He was the grandson of Glen and Kay Freeman and Paul and Pat Schafer. He was also the great-grandson of Nolan and Virginia Walden and the late J.L. and Geneva Freeman.
Services were Dec. 7 at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
SCHEXNAYDER
DESTREHAN - Joseph P. Schexnayder, 68, a native of Reserve and resident of Destrehan, died Dec. 4, 2001. He was the husband of Antoinette Verdi Schexnayder and father of Roxanne Boudreaux, Andrea Coates, Alanea Champagne, Joette Timmerman and Cherie St. Pierre.
He was the son of the late Ferducie and Lelia Waguespack Schexnayder and brother of Theresa Tangius, Lelia Kelly, Eleanor Hoffman, Alma Martin and the late Sophie Hotard and Marie Schexnayder.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
He was retired from Cytec Industries and a member of Men of Manresa.
Services were Dec. 6 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, with interment at the church mausoleum.
BORNE
EDGARD - Judy Ann Borne, 43, a native and resident of Edgard, died April 1, 2001. She was the daughter of Florence Edwards Borne and the late Roger Borne Sr. and sister of Charity Bovie, Laura Brown, Davis Dome Sr., Walter Edwards Sr. and Roger Jr., Herbert Sr., Lloyd Sr., Ronald, Henry Sr., Mark Sr., David Sr., Walter Sr. and Gordon Borne Sr.
Services were April 5 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery.
BOURQUE
LUTCHER - Eulie Marie Parent "Fee" Bourque, 92, a native of Gonzales and resident of Lutcher, died April 3, 2001. She was the wife of the late Joseph Bourque and mother of Clara Louque, Brenda Farrar and the late Mary Ann Blank, Stanley, Levearn and Earl Hebert and Ronald and Donald Bourque.
She was the daughter of the late Traville and Odelle LaBlanc Parent and was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
She is also survived 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by three grandchildren.
Services were April 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula, with interment at Wetmore Cemetery.
JACKSON
TAFT - Jackie Ray Jackson , 1, a resident of LaPlace, died March 31, 2001. He was the son of Jackie Byrd Jr., stepson of Quiana Fleming and brother of Rayione Jackson .
He was the grandchild of Gail Jones, Jackie Byrd Sr. and Eugene and Ann Jupiter.
Graveside services were held April 3 at Greenhille Cemetery, Taft.
LaGRANGE
EDGARD - Deola Marie LaGrange, 54, a native and resident of Edgard, died March 31, 2001. She was the mother of Miguel LaGrange.
She was the daughter of Joseph and the late Lydia Alexander LaGrange and sister of Glenn, Ricky, Ray and the late Kerry LaGrange.
She is also survived by one grandchild.
She was employed at Ochsner Foundation Hospital.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.
NABOR
TERRYTOWN - Calvin J. Nabor, 47, a native of New Orleans, former resident of Lutcher and resident of New Orleans for 15 years, died March 29, 2001. He was the husband of Joann K. Nabor and father of Jared Nabor, Jeremy and Jason Knight, Tanika and Shacondra Reese, Tamara Delvin and Lan Tatianna Knight.
He was the son of the late Abe Jones and Ceola James and brother of Smith Jr., Ronald, Lonnie Sr. and Donald Nabor Sr., Larry James, Jimmy and Samuel Jones and the late Timmy Nabor and Donnie James.
He is also survived by one grandchild.
He was a former employee of Community Connection Programs Inc. Of New Orleans.
Services are today at 9 a.m. at Strong Faith Bible Church, Terrytown, with interment at Restlawn Cemetery, Avondale. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
RICHARD
MARRERO - Paul Charles Richard, 82, a native of Vacherie and resident of Marrero, died April 1, 2001. He was the husband of Carrie Bell Richard and father of Elsie Mae Jenkins, Sherry Anne Wheeler, Debra Hines, Portia McFarlin, Doris Duckett and Clifford, Kevin and the late Leo Richard.
He was the brother of Herman Richard and was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received the Philippine Libertation Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of the American Legion and was a retired laborer.
Services were April 5 at Second Zion Baptist Church, Marrero, with interment at Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale.
YOUNG
RIVER RIDGE - Clifford T. Young, 60, a native of Vacherie and resident of Kenner, died April 1, 2001. He was the brother of Peggy Joseph.
He was employed by the city of Kenner as a truck driver.
Services were April 5 in the chapel of Richardson Funeral Home, Kenner, with interment at Belle Grove Cemetery.
BELL
NEW SARPY - George Bell, 70, a native and resident of New Sarpy, died Dec. 7, 2001. He was the son of Grace Bell Walker and the late James Bell Sr. and brother of the Rev. James Bell Jr.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at House of Prayer Baptist Church, New Sarpy, with interment at New Sarpy Cemetery. Visitation starts at 10 a.m.
DAVIS
GARYVILLE - Morris "Ninny" Davis, 45, a resident of Garyville, died Dec 3, 2001. He was the husband of Pier Sterling Davis and father of Kenyatta, Latoya and Morris Davis III.
He was the son of Rosa Mae Davis and the late Rev. Morris Davis Sr. and brother of Joyce Brown, Beverly Johnson , Bernard Hayes, Mary Cobb and Betty, Eugene and Claude Davis.
He is also survived by three grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Greater New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Garyville, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.
