Ollie Paille

Ollie Paille, 81, Killian, died; funeral, 11 a.m. today, Rabenhorst Funeral Home East; interment, Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

"In Jesus Name," we say goodbye to Miss Ollie Paille and as she skips down those golden streets, we know she is home with her Lord. Born Ada Olivia Miller on April 28, 1927 in Mt. Hermon, now residing in Killian. She lived her life as a beautician and later just growing her flowers. She was the very proud mother of Jimmy and Gwen Dillon and loved two special nieces, Liz Smith and Pat Maples.

We extend special thanks to her caregivers Kim McKinney, Denise Woolam and Lillie Davis.

Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Boulevard on Wednesday, April 8 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Thursday from 9:00 am until religious service at 11:00 am, conducted by the Revs. David Theriot and Nathan Lott.

interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Joey, Allan, Jimmy, Kevin, Phillip and Scott Paille.

Miss Ollie was preceded in death by her husband Earl J. Paille, her parents, Broadus and Velma Miller, sister Edna Maples and two grandsons, James and Michael Dillon.

Joseph Clarence Poche

Joseph Clarence Poche Sr., age 80, died at his residence on Sunday, April 5, 2009. He was a native and resident of Hungarian Settlement. Survivors include his wife, Irene Fontenot Poche; daughters, Margaret DeMars, Barbara Dixon, and Pamela Yager; and son Joseph Picou, Jr. ; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchidren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; 8 brothers and 2 sisters; one grandson, and one great-grandson.

Family and friends are invite to attend the visitation at Geisler Funeral Home in Albany on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 from 6 until 9 pm and on Wednesday after 10:00 am until the religious service at 1:00 pm. interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery.

Norma "Sandy" Stewart Macaluso

Norma "Sandy" Stewart Macaluso, age 80 died at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond on Wednesday, Feb. 18. She was a native and resident of Hammond; a retired school bus driver with the Tangipahoa Parish School System; member of Hammond Fireman's Auxiliary; Hammond Knights of Columbus Auxiliary; and was an advisor and leader with 4-H.

Survivors include 4 children, William "Billy" Houlihan, Brenda Carol Houlihan; Anthony Macaluso, and Barbara Macaluso Rice; 6 grandchildren, Sandy Lynn Houlihan, Toni Bergeron, Bobby Bergeron, Drew Porter, Rhonda Rice Hatfield, and Ryan Rice; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Macaluso, grandson, Kerry Bergeron, and parents, Robert and Vivian Calendar Stewart.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation at Geisler Funeral Home of Hammond on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9 am until the religious service at 12 noon. interment will follow in Tickfaw Cemetery. Online .

Ruth Ellen Hoover Pritchard

Mrs. Ruth Ellen Hoover Pritchard, 70, a native of Lee's Landing and a resident of Ponchatoula, Passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.

She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on Wednesday, November 30, 1938, daughter of the late Enos and Mary Willie Hoover. She was a retired Respiratory Therapist with 7th Ward Hospital.

Survivors include 2 sons, Michael and Carl Pritchard; daughter, Sherrie Taylor ; grandchildren, Dustin and Casey Pritchard, and Calin and Cory Taylor ; great-grandchildren, Lauren, AAron and Lane; brother, Mickey Hoover and a sister, Eydie Hike.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Eugene (Gene) Hoover. Mrs. Pritchard was a very active member in the Bedico Community Center.

Visitation is scheduled Friday, February 20, 2009, at the Bedico Community Center. from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Services will be held at Bedico Community Center on Friday, February 20, 2009, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Glen Sanchez officiating.

interment will follow at Bedico Community Cemetery, Ponchatoula.

She is greatly loved and will dearly missed.

Helen Williams Ridgel

Helen Williams Ridgel, age 86 died on Feb. 18, 2009 in Tickfaw.

She was a native of Hammond and resident of Tickfaw.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Ridgel; 3 sons, Colin Ridgel, Keith Ridgel, and Kenny Ridgel; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Krimenz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Ridgel; 2 daughters, Jan Ridgel and Louise Legendre; 2 grandchildren, Kenny Ridgel and Karen Sue Stroute; brother, Coy Williams; sisters, Pud Wilson, Weedie Maxon, Shirley Chauffe, Lois Ridgel, Bessie Williams and Ona Krimenz; and her parents Elijah and Mary Soames Williams.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation at Geisler Funeral Home of Hammond on Friday, Feb. 20 after 9 am until the service at 11 am conducted by Bro. Andy Stafford.

interment will follow in Mt. Stevens Cemetery, Tickfaw.

Eunice Juanita Harris Shaffer

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ms. Eunice Passed away at her residence on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 surrounded by her children at the age of 78. She was a native of Petersburg, Virginia and a resident of Pumpkin Center. Ms. Eunice loved to crochet during her spare time.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeanette Shaffer Gregoire & husband Ronnie, Sherry Shaffer Tomsic and husband Dave; two sons, James Shaffer and wife Theresa, Jay Shaffer; seven grandchildren, Devin, Derrick, Rusty, Danny, Jamie, Zachary and Joshua along with seven great-grandchildren, Danniel, Christopher, Stacey, Nevaeh, Nicholas, Myrisa and Mya.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose J. Shaffer; son, Audie Joseph Shaffer; granddaughter, Stacie Lynn Traylor.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from Jerusalem Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center on Friday, February 20th from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral service scheduled for 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Kevin Hoopes.

interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Darryl Joseph Carrone

Mr. Darryl Joseph Carrone, 46, a native and resident of Hammond, Louisiana , Passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at North Oaks Medical Center, in Hammond.

He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on Wednesday, November 14, 1962, son of the late Moran Jacob Carrone, and Josephine Lois Esler Carrone. He was a retired Carpenter.

Survivors include step children, Bryan David and Kaitlyn Renee Motichek; 3 brothers & sisters-in-law, Butch and Leslie Carrone, Keith and Kelly Carrone; and Kevin and Marjorie Carrone; niece & husband, Melissa Carrone Bentivegna and Paul Michael Bentivegna; and a nephew, Shawn Daniel Carrone. Mr. Carrone was an avid dart league player and outdoorsman.

Visitation is scheduled Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, from 6 - 10 p.m., and on Wednesday, after 8 a.m. until the 10 a.m. services.

Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m., with Pastor Gloria Coslan officiating.

interment will follow at Colonial Cemetery, Independence, Louisiana .

Eric "Bood" Holden

To know Bood was to know an avid coon hunter and deer hunter. He was the greatest husband, daddy, grandfather, brother and friend anyone would ever desire. Age 84 and a lifelong resident of Holden, La, Bood lost his life Sunday, November 16, 2008 as the result of an automobile-train collision. As a United States Marine, he served in WWII receiving the Purple Heart along with many other metals.

His loving wife of 59 years, Helen Forrest Holden, survives him along with their three sons, Raymond Holden and wife Bella, Tim Holden and wife Sheila, and Craig Holden. He leaves behind 4 grandsons, Eric, Adrian, Cody and Matthew Holden and one granddaughter, Casey Holden. Two siblings also survive him, Gene and wife Elaine and Van and wife Helen.

Preceding Bood in death are his parents and twelve siblings.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 19th at 10:00 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday, November 18th beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until the service time. Rev Jessie Tate will officiate the services assisted by Rev. Jeff Hathorn and Rev. Jimmy Sasser. interment will follow at Hutchinson Cemetery in Albany.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home of Hammond.

Roger "Stevie" Jordan

Mr. Roger "Stevie" Jordan, 50 years old of Ponchatoula, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, July 24, 1958 in Independence, son of the late Calvin Thomas and Esther Deaton Jordan.

Surviving are his wife, Bobbie Jordan; daughter, Mari Annette Singletary; brother, Calvin Jordan Jr. and 4 sisters, Patricia Walker, Brenda Jordan, Judy Pruett and Charlotte Smith.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Winnie Threeton Kemp

Mrs. Winnie Threeton Kemp, 78 years old of Hammond died Monday, November 17, 2008, at Belle Maison Nursing Home.

She was born on Tuesday, October 21, 1930, in Springfield, Louisiana , daughter of the late John Threeton and the late Katie Turnage.She was a retired bookkeeper.

Surviving are her daughter, JoAnn Kemp Morgan; 2 sisters, Bertha Threeton Dominguez and Nadine Threeton Bankston; 2 brothers, Ronald Ray Threeton and Raymond Threeton. Also numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice C. Kemp III; parents John and Katie Turnage Threeton; brother, Wilson Threeton; 3 sons, Neal Kemp Sr., Ray Kemp, M.C. Kemp IV; daughter, Susan Kemp.

Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday, November 19, 2008, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, LA.

Services will be held at Harry McKneely & Son in Ponchatoula on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 10 a.m.

interment will follow in the Killian Baptist Church Cemetery, Killian, Louisiana 70462.

Helen Yawn Kysar

Mrs. Helen Yawn Kysar, 53 years old of Hammond, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 in North Oaks Medical Center.

She was born on Sunday, December 5, 1954 in Independence, Louisiana .

Surviving are her 2 sons, Brian Daniel, Bill Kysar; 2 daughters, Catherine Kysar, Melynda Kysar; 5 grandchildren, Eilene Kysar, Theresa Daniel, Cisco Kysar, Joseph Daniel, Rosa Chavez; mother, Barbara Holmes; 2 brothers, Roy Yawn Jr. and Curtiss Yawn.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Rocky" Kysar; father, Roy Yawn Sr. and step-father, Q. D. Holmes.

Friends will be received Tuesday, November 18, 2008, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.

A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 7:00 pm.
