Blanche Marie Bourgeois Kliebert

Blanche Marie Bourgeois Kliebert, 91, of Ponchatoula, died Monday, February 18, 2008 in North Oaks Medical Center.

She was born on July 6, 1916 in St. James Parish, daughter of the late Alcibia and Blanche Reulet Bourgeois, and wife of the late Joseph Kliebert.

Surviving are her 2 sons, Larry Kliebert and Bobby Kliebert; 3 sisters, Elma Ougland, Elvine Ovella, and Alice Kramer; 1 brother, Edward Bourgeois; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Odile Lassere, Joyce Barre, and Loice Couret, and 3 brothers, Alcibia, Joseph, and Wilfred Bourgeois.

Friends will be received Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at the Harry McKneely & Son in Ponchatoula from 6 p.m. til 9 p.m., and after 8 a.m. on Thursday until 10:15 a.m.

Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 10:30 a.m.

interment will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Carol Ann Hotchkiss Poche

Carol Ann Hotchkiss Poche died unspectedly on Feb. 17 after a brief illness. She was born on July 9, 1947 in Billings, Montana to parents, Betty and Ken Hotchkiss. Carol was raised in Laurel, Montana where she graduated in 1965. She continued her educaton at Northwestern Hospital and graduated with her registered nursing degree in 1968. Then in 1969 she came to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, and never left. There was raised two daughters, Danielle and Dominique. She was employed by Charity Hospital for 32 years retiring in 2001. She was an avid participant in the People Program, teaching piano and taking art and crafts classes. That was also where she discovered her passion for Mah Jong.

Carol relocated to Hammond in 2007 to rebuild her life after KatrIna. Since moving to Hammond, she continued to be actively involved in a number of community programs.

She is survived by her daughters, Danielle (Andrew) Owusu of Murfeesboro, TN and Dominique Poche of Hammod; mother, Betty Hotchkiss of Missoula, Montana; brother, Ken (Judy, Mike, and Kristen) Hotchkiss of Lolo, Montana; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 21 at 10 am at First United Methodist Church of Ponchatoula.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the People Program, PO Box 113557, Metairie, LA 70011 or Heifer Indernational, www.heifer.org, or a charity of your choice. Geisler Funeral Home of Ponchatoula in charge.

Joseph Vincent Baiamonte

Mr. Joseph Vincent Baiamonte, 84 years old of Tickfaw, died Thursday, August 30, 2007 at his residence. He was born on Sunday, October 22, 1922 in Amite, son of the late Vincent and Josephine Levatino Baiamonte. Mr. Baiamonte was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus in Hammond.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria Moore Baiamonte; son & daughter-in-law, Vincent Paul and Jo Anne Baiamonte; daughter & son-in-law, Marie Baiamonte and Louis Lemmon; step-daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Anthony Trapen; 2 grandsons, Jody V. Baiamonte, Christopher P. Baiamonte; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Sarah B. Muscarello.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine G. Baiamonte; 2 sisters, Phine Pisciotta, Mamie Catalanotto; 5 brothers, Sam, Pete, Tony, Frank and John Baiamonte.

Friends will be received Friday, August 31, 2007 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm and on Saturday, September 1, 2007 from 8:00 am until 10:00 am at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 10:30 am with Fr. Hank Groover, O.P. officiating.

interment will follow in the Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vital Hospice.

Jeanette Marie Mattison

Jeanette Marie Mattison, 79 years old of Springfield, LA, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at her residence.

She was born on Monday, November 21, 1927 in Thibodeaux, Louisiana .

Surviving are 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Jeanne and Randy Pollet and Cherie and Carl Schulz; daughter, Vivian Peterman; son-in-law Lewis “Billy” Mang Sr.; brother, Herbert Boudreaux; sister, Dorothy Shaffett. Also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by ; husband; Walter “Buck” Mattison, parents; Jeanne and Sidney Boudreaux, grandparents; Ralph and Lorenza Falcon, brother; J.E. Boudreaux, sister; Esther Revere, daughter; Linda “Donette” Mang, son; Richard Egle Jr., and son-in-law; L “Ronnie” Peterman.

Friends will be received Sunday, September 2 at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 2:00p.m. until services. Memorial services will be held in the funeral home chapel Sunday, September 2, 2007 at 4:00p.m.

Carolyn Fraiser Gray Voss

Carolyn Frasier Gray Voss,age 76 years Passed away on Sunday evening August 26, 2007 at Lambeth House in New Orleans.

Beloved wife of the late Ernst Thomas Voss. She was daughter of Horace Dodson Gray and Clarice Bruner Gray of Memphis TN.

Surviving are 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Patrick William Voss and Wanda Voss of Metairie,, LA, Matthew Ernst Voss and Vicki Voss of Albany, NY; daughter & son-in-law, Kathleen Voss Lowry and James W. Lowry of Nashville, TN; 2 sisters, Naomi Gray May of Little Rock, AK, and Martha Sue Gray Burgess and her husband Edward Burgess of Atlanta GA; 4 grandchildren, Meagen Kathleen Voss, Courtney Jeanne Voss, Kasey Ruth Lowry and Thomas James Lowry.

Carolyn and her husband Ernie were long-time residents of Hammond, LA. While there they were active members of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church. Carolyn was an active gardener and seashell collector in her adult years. She was a member of the Louisiana Malacological Society and enjoyed traveling extensively with this group in search of rare seashells. While residing in Bahia, Brazil, during the 1980s she discovered a seashell that had never been catalouged before. With the assistance of Emily Volkes, this seashell was subsequently catalogued and named “Chicoreus (Seratus) Carolynae”.

Friends will be received Sunday, September 2 at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A church service will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by a graveside ceremony in Rose Memorial Rev. Paul Bailey officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request gifts be made to Grace Memorial Episcopal Church 100 West Church St. Hammond LA. 70401.

Helen Odessa Whitley

Helen Odessa Whitley, 81 of Maurepas, died Sunday August 26, 2007 at Gonzales Healthcare Center. A loving and caring mother, born January 29, 1926 in Maurepas.

She was a 1991 retiree with Livingston Parish School Board.

Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Thompson, Geismar, JoAnn Glover, Gonzales, Ophelia Dudley, Springfield; two sons, Charles Ashton, Maurepas and Schofield Ashton, Jr., Prairieville; sister, Lula Payton, Head of Island; two brothers, Frank Williams, Springfield and Phillip Williams, Jr., Chicago, IL.

Visitation Friday, August 31, at Lawson Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home, Toby Ave., Gonzales from 5:00-8:00 pm. Funeral service Saturday, September 1, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Head of Island by Elder Levan Jackson , Sr. interment at Maurepas Cemetery.

Beverly Baham

Beverly Baham, wife of "Scully" Dale Baham died on June 21, 2007 at 9:30 am in Independence at the age of 48.

She was born March 10, 1959 and was a resident of Folsom.

She is also survived by her daughter, Amanda Ann Baham; one son, Randy Baham; and three grandchildren, Hope, Paige, and Jamie; mother, Peggy Sharp and her husband "Pop" Steve Sharp; father, Milton Crockett; sisters, Chris Sharp and Kimberly Crockett; and brothers, Johnny and Robert Crockett.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Crockett.

Visitation at Kingdom Life Community Church on Chappeela Road in Loranger on Saturday, June 23 from 1 p.m. until the service at 2 p.m. conducted by Bro. Michael Starkey and Bro. Chris Monistere.

interment will follow in Driftwood Memorial Gardens on Driftwood Road in Uneedus.

Albert Cook

Albert "Fritz" Cook, 94, a resident of Tangipahoa died June 20, 2007, at 8 a.m. at Lallie Kemp Medical Center.

Visitation will be at N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond, Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m., and Monday at Browns Chapel Baptist Church, at 9 a.m. until the Rev. Celestine Harris conducts the funeral at 2 p.m.

Burial will be at Brown-Quinn Cemetery, Tangipahoa.

Survivors are four daughters, Marjorie Celesta Johnson , Tangipahoa; Alice Faye Jackson , Hammond; Diana Lee Brown, Ponchatoula; and Joyce Vera Slaughter, Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Caldwell Cook; parents, Idella and Jessie Cook; one brother, T.C. Buckhalter; and his only son, Walter Lee Cook.

Cook was an employee of the Illinois Central Railroad and Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Department.

He also served in U.S. Navy.

Anna Agnello Denoux

Anna Agnello Denoux of Hoover, Alabama, formerly of Metairie, Louisiana , Passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at the age of 96. She was a retired beautician, and was a beloved wife and mother. She was preceded in death by a brother, Sam B. Agnello.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Joseph Vincent Denoux, Jr.; a daughter, Gwen Denoux Skinner of Hoover; a godchild, Brenda Lee Pethos (Rudolph) of Independence, LA; and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 25, 2007, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Funeral services will follow at the church at 1:00 p.m., with Father Henry McDaid officiating.

Zelma Agatha Drake

Zelma Agatha Drake, 91-years-old of Hammond, Louisiana , died Tuesday, June 19, 2007 in North Oaks Medical Center.

Zelma was born Sunday, August 8, 1915 in Bedico Louisiana .

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Ernest G. Drake Jr., and Linda Drake; daughter and son-in-law, Maria Drake Ware and Joe Ware; three grandchildren, Aliska Drake Fuller, Ernest G. Drake lll and Anna Drake Ware.

She was preceded in death by husband; Ernest G. Drake Sr., daughter; Charlotte Drake; parents; Henry Hoover and Zelma Raiford Hoover, brothers; Irvin, Alonzo, and Woodrow Hoover, sisters; Rose Hoover Cunningham, Inez Hoover Blackwell and Anne Hoover Richardson.

Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.

interment will follow in the Ponchatoula Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454.
