SARAH ANTHONY
TICKFAW -- Sarah Anthony, 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
A native of Sweetwater, she is survived by four daughters, Carleen Willie, Darrell Dean Barbier and Betty Stevens, all of Tickfaw, and Ruth Harper; one son, Calvin Lee Anthony of Hammond; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Darrell Calvin Anthony; her parents, Richard and Sallie Holden Anthony; two daughters, Jane Francis and Sally Anthony; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Richard, John, Hebert and Son Anthony; and two sisters, Maudella Stafford and Beatrice Chapman, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Sunday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 10 p.m., and Monday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Little River Pentecostal Church, Cemetery.
CURTIS WILLIAM BRADDOCK
HOLLINS, Ala. -- Curtis "Fuzzy" William Braddock, 47, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, after a long battle with diabetes and related illnesses near El Paso, Texas , while on vacation.
Born in New Orleans, he was a truck driver by profession who mostly worked for Tyson Foods of Oxford, Ala., until he became disabled.
He is survived by his mother, Princess Louise Wilson Braddock James; his stepfather, Jimmie James of Meridian, Miss.; a sister, Jo Ann Braddock Herndon of Hot Springs, Ark.; and two brothers, James Curtis Braddock of Hollins, Ala., and William Ray Braddock of Austin, Texas .
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis William Braddock Sr.; his brothers, Kenneth Raburn Braddock, Curtis "Junior" William Braddock Jr.; and two sisters, Gertie Mae Braddock Leveritt and Dorothy Dean Braddock Moates.
Visitation will be tonight from 3 to 7 p.m. at Radney- Smith Funeral Home, 310 N. Elm Ave., Sylacauga, Ala. Burial will follow in Hollins Cemetery, Hollins. The Rev. Ray Cooper will be in charge.
PAUL CLIFTON GRANIER, SR.
HOUMA -- Paul Clifton "P.C." Granier Sr., 96, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at The Suites at Sugar Mill Point in Houma.
He was a resident of The Suites at Sugar Mill Point in Houma, a native of Edgard and a longtime resident of Hammond and Ponchatoula. He was a retired New York Life agent of 35 years with 60 years in the insurance business. He served on the board of directors at Ponchatoula Homestead and was a past president of the Kiwanis Club in Ponchatoula. He was a member of the Ponchatoula Volunteer Fire Department. He served on the City Council in Ponchatoula and was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Vivian Simon Granier of Houma; a daughter, Janice G. Gruber of Mount Dora, Fla.; a son, Paul C. Granier Jr. of Houma; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His parents, Emilienne Joseph and Delia Schmidt Granier; six brothers, Jack, Claude, Emile, Melvin, Norman and Eddie Granier; and two sisters, Esther Poche and Marie Bossier, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son in Hammond Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the Rev. Deacon Schanzbach conducts the funeral at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Mausoleum.
DOROTHY MIHLON HUBER
Dorothy Mihlon Huber, 86, a native of New Jersey, died at North Oaks Medical Center, Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004.
She attended Woodland Park Baptist Church, Hammond.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Huber of Hammond; one son, Robert Alan Huber of Virginia; one daughter, Joanne Huber Showalter of Hammond; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral was today at noon, and burial was in Parklawn Mausoleum.
Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, was in charge.
EMMA ALBERTA COOPER JAMES
KENTWOOD -- Emma Alberta Cooper James, 60, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Noah James Jr. of Kentwood; her sons, Robert Wesby Sr. and Joe A. Cooper, both of Hammond, and Noah "Dewayne" Cooper of Kentwood; four daughters, Phyllis Elzy, Cynthia Wesby, Rosie Wesby Gibson and Tonya Elzy Cryer, all of Kentwood; six sisters, Lucille L. Thompson of New Orleans, Clementine "Ada" McGee, Helen Lard and Linda L. Gayton, all of Kentwood, Janice E. Williams of Osyka, Miss., and Barbara Ann Elzy of Greensburg; five brothers, Matthew Lard Jr. of Kentwood, James Lard of Independence, Robert Earl Lard of Belle Chase, Hollis Elzy Jr. of Port Hudson and Percy Lee Elzy of Angie; her mother, Rosie Cooper Lard of Kentwood; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her father, Hollis Elzy Sr., preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Sunday at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Lee Allen Pounds Jr. will conduct the funeral Monday at Sweethome Baptist Church at 1 p.m. followed by burial at the church cemetery.
CORY L. DIDONE
KENTWOOD -- Cory L. Didone, 26, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, as a result of cystic fibrosis.
He was disabled and a native of Hammond.
He was a member of Kentwood Lions Club and First Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher and a youth counselor. He was also a counselor for the Louisiana Lions Club Respiratory Camp in Leesville.
Survivors include his mother, Sue Minor of New Hope, Ala.; his stepfather, David Minor of Kentwood; a brother, C.J. Williams of Roseland; a sister, Shelly Handley of Hammond; and his grandparents, Ruby and Aubrey Stockes of Kentwood.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie Didone and Carl and Myrtis Holden.
Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, Kentwood, tonight from 5 to 10 and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the Revs. Keith Rhodus and Iran Smith conduct the funeral at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Tangipahoa Cemetery, Tangipahoa.

DOROTHY JEAN STRAHAN
Dorothy Jean Strahan, 63, a native of Albany, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at Belle Maison Nursing Home.
She is survived by her son, Richard Strahan Jr. of Hammond; two sisters, Patsy Morgan of Hammond and Linda Gatlin of Albany; and two grandchildren.
Her husband, Richard Strahan Sr.; a daughter, Doreen Strahan; and her parents, Sylvester and Marie Traylor, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at Geisler Funeral Home in Hammond tonight from 6 until 9 and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral at 10 . Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery.
EDWARD HOBART ADDISON
NATALBANY -- Edward Hobart Addison, 75, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at Memorial Medical Center, Baptist campus, New Orleans.
A native of Natalbany, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of the Natalbany Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Harper Addison of Natalbany; a daughter, Gwen Addison Clements of Destrehan; a sister, Ruby Addison Bankston of Natalbany; and two grandchildren.
His parents, Hobert and Vena Bankston Addison, and a sister, Elizabeth Addison, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 10. The Rev. Rodney Taylor will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Natalbany Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 99, Natalbany, LA 70451, or a charity of one's choice.
ANDREW BAILEY JR.
TICKFAW -- Andrew Bailey Jr., 48, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
Survivors include his father, Andrew Bailey Sr. of Tickfaw; two sisters, Debra Dyson and Rosemary Chester, both of Tickfaw; and a brother, Edward Bailey of Hammond.
His mother, Mary Bailey; and his stepmother, Eliza Bailey, preceded him in death.
The Rev. Larry Rheams will conduct the funeral Thursday at 11 a.m. at N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond. Burial will be at Holly Gardens Cemetery, Hammond.
EDDIE BYRD JR.
The funeral for Eddie Byrd Jr. was held this afternoon at N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond.
Byrd, 44, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at Hammond Nursing Home.
Survivors include his mother, Emma Jean Hopkins of Ocean Springs, Miss.; a daughter, Shawn Byrd of Hammond; two sons, Eddie Byrd III and J.T. Tillman, both of Hammond; a sister, Sharon Lane of Seattle; four brothers, Ivy Lee Hopkins of Las Vegas, Eric D. Hopkins of Madison, Wis., Derick Hopkins of Milwaukee and Aaron Hopkins of Seattle.
Burial was at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Hammond.
EMMA LEE BICKHAM
FLUKER -- Emma Lee Bickham, 62, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Bickham Sr. of Fluker; two sons, Robert Bickham Jr. of Fluker and Sedrick Kagler Sr. of Franklinton; one daughter, Pamela Bickham of Fluker; two sisters, Janice Pitts and Ada Burton Brown, both of Roseland; two brothers, Gene Burton and Carl Burton, both of Roseland; and eight grandchildren.
Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, from 10 a.m. until the Rev. Sylvester Marshall conducts the funeral at 11.
Burial will be at Mount Canaan Cemetery.
