GAUTIER
EDGARD - Leneo Joseph "Doc" "Joe" Gautier, 68, a native of Edgard and resident of Gray, died Feb. 4, 1999. He was the husband of Lois McGuin Gautierand father of Shawn, Tyrone, Carl and Joey Gauthier and the late Byron Gauthier.
He was also the son of the late James and Justine Gauthier and brother of Elmo, James, George and Emmanuel Gautier and the late Cornell and Marion Lumar and Doris Lewis.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 8 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard, with interment at the church cemetery.
JOHNSON
KENNER - Edwin Christopher Johnson Sr., 73, a native of St. Rose and a resident of Destrehan for 37 years, died Feb. 6, 1999. He was the husband of Theodoria Dennison Johnson and father of Thadrian Johnson Isles and the late Edwin Johnson Jr. and Pamela Joseph, and step-father of Terry White . He was also the son of the late Lee and Helen Johnson and brother of Curtis Johnson Sr. and the late Beatrice Brumfield and Benjamin Johnson . He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Thomas United Methodist Church, Kenner,with interment at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, St. Rose. Visitationstarts at 8 a.m.
LaBRANCHE
RESERVE - Agnes "Nonnie" Guedry LaBranche, 65, a native of New Sarpy and resident of Reserve for 21 years, died Feb. 6, 1999. She was the wife of Roland LaBranche and mother of Patricia "Patsy" Millet, Annette "Netty" Ayme, Roland "Petsy" Jr. and Timmy LaBranche and the late JoAnn Edler.She was also the daughter of the late Roger and Delphine Guedry and sister of Josephine Barrient, Edith Ancale, Carol Sutton, Roger, Michael and Sidney Guedry and the late Enda Seri and George Guedry.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Feb. 9 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.
MITCHELL
EDGARD - Paul C. Mitchell Sr., 69, a native and resident of Edgard, died Feb. 4, 1999. He was the husband of the late Joyce Mitchell and father of Rachel Dismuke, Dennis, Paul Jr., Kermit and Renee Mitchell and the late Aaron Mitchell.
He was also the son of the late Sidney and Josephine Borne Mitchell and brother of Christine Pierre, Mary Edwards, Oleander Joseph, Willie and Herman Mitchell and the late Emily Augusta, Simon, Ramos and Phillip Mitchell.
He is also survived by five grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 9 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edgard,with interment at the church cemetery.
SAVOIE
DES ALLEMANDS - Clarence "Su-Su" "Snowball" Joseph Savoie, 79, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died Feb. 7, 1999. He was the husband ofthe late Wanda LeBlanc Savoie and father of Geraldine Hervieu, Alberta, C.H. "Sonny," Curtis, Wildred, Dennis and Mark Savoie and the late Dwight Savoie.
He was also the son of the late Corbett and Sidonia Dufrene Savoie and brother of Loretta Vial, Genevia Rogers and Ralph and Warren Savoie.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 9 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, with interment at the church cemetery.
FISHER
LAPLACE - Denitra Faye Fisher, an employee of L'Observateur, died Feb. 4, 1999 at Kenner Regional Hospital.
Better known to friends and fellow employees and "Ma Ma," Fisher was head inserter in the newspaper's circulation department.
Fisher's infant son, Alfred James Williams Jr., died Feb. 3 at Kenner Regional.
Fisher, a native and resident of LaPlace, was 35 years old.
She and the baby are survived by numerous friends and relatives, including Fisher's daughter, Lashinta S. Fisher; stepchildren Christel Williams andDemario Perrilloux, parents Remey Joseph Perrilloux Jr. and LucillePerrilloux Anderson and loving and devoted friend Alfred James Williams Sr.
Fisher was also the sister of Leonora, Jullone, Addrena and Jermaine Perrilloux, step-daughter of Larry Anderson, granddaughter of Freeman Couto Sr., Remey Joseph Perrilloux Sr., Margret Perrilloux and the lateThelma Coyalle and devoted friend of Carlis Warren.
Fisher is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, mother-in-law, brothers- and sisters-in-law, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family and employees of L'Observateur were invited to attend the funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 127 West Third St., LaPlace. interment followed inProvidence Cemetery.
Hobson Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
BECNEL
RESERVE - Matthew Jon Becnel, 18, a native and resident of Reserve, died Feb. 8, 1999. He was the father of Joshua Adam. He was also the son of Henry and Mary Ann Oubre Becnel, the step-son of Charlotte Becnel, the brother of Hank, Aaron, Kerrie and Erica Becnel and Gina St. Amant and step-brother of Rupert Morgan.He was also the grandson of Josephine Oubre, Rita Becnel and the late Linden "Bilbo" Oubre and Placide Becnel.
Services were held Feb. 12 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.
BELSOME
BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. - James L. Belsome Sr., 75, a native of Hahnville and a resident of Waveland, Miss., died Feb. 10, 1999. He was the father of Suzanne Harmon, Susan Sales, Henrietta Foy, James Jr. and Russell Belsome and Edmond Foy.
He was also the brother of Stella Boutte and Marjorie Troxler.
He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 12 in the chapel of Edmond Fahey Funeral Home, Bay St. Louis, Miss., with interment at Waveland City Cemetery.
BOUDREAUX
MARRERO - Billie Jo Alexie Boudreaux, 27, a native of New Orleans, former resident of Marrero and resident of LaPlace for four months, died Feb. 9, 1999. She was the wife of Chadwick Boudreaux and mother of Chad Phillip Brown and Chelsea Nicole Boudreaux.
She was also the daughter of Larry Sr. and Joy Ann Sapia Alexie and sister of Larry Jr. and Kassie Alexie. Services were held Feb. 12 in the chapel of Westside Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at St. Pius Cemetery, Crown Point.
COOK
LULING - Eldred Edward Cook, 91, a native of Straud, Ala., resident of Boutte for 46 years and Metairie for 1 1/2 years, died Feb. 9, 1999. He was the husband of Willie Mae Butler Cook and father of Marjorie Lehew.
He was also the brother of the late Johnny, Wiley, Shurley and Mamie Brown.
He is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 12 at First Baptist Church of Luling, with interment at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.
DORNIER
NEW ORLEANS - The Rev. Russell Leon Dornier, S.J., 86, a native of Conventand a resident of New Orleans, died Feb. 11, 1999. He was the son of the late Joseph and Julie Dicharry Dornier and brother of Gladys Benson and Garland Dornier. He was also predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
He was educated at Sacred Heart Academy and Jefferson College, Convent, Romeville High School and Louisiana State University.
He entered the Jesuit Order in 1931 and was ordained in 1944. He ministered in Shreveport, Grand Coteau and at Manresa Retreat House, Convent.
Services were Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, New Orleans, with interment at the Jesuit Cemetery, New Orleans.
