INDEPENDENCE -- Albany native Virgil L. Hutchinson, 57, died Nov. 1, 2004, at Hammond Nursing Home.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Geisler funeral Home in Albany.

CHASE GARRET KING

ROSELAND -- Chase Garret King, 21, an equipment operator, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at his home.

A native of Amite, he is survived by his father, David King; his stepmother, Karen Walker; his sister, Shiann Rae King; a stepsister, Amanda Walker; a stepbrother, Bud Walker; his grandfather, Mervel King; and his grandmother, Irene Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Julie Bennett Kedney; his grandmother, Connie Rae Lawrence King; his grandfather, Lionel Bennett; and two brothers.

Visitation will be Wednesday at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the Rev. Bob Simpson conducts the funeral at 11.

Burial will be at Arcola Baptist Church Cemetery, Arcola.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with the funeral expenses.

ROBERT JOSEPH PHILLIPS

PONCHATOULA -- Arrangements are incomplete for Robert Joseph Phillips.

Phillips, 71, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home is in charge.

SISTER MARY ALOYSIUS

A prayer service will be today at 4:45 p.m. and visitation will continue until 7 p.m. at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse Chapel, Metairie, for Sister Mary Aloysius, O.P., 79, who died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Meadowcrest Hospital.

Visitation will also be Friday at St. Mary Magdalene Church, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass.

Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, New Orleans, is in charge.

Burial will be Friday in the Dominican Sisters Cemetery in Rosaryville, Ponchatoula.

RUTH IRENE BARKSDALE

ALBANY -- Arrangements are incomplete for Ruth Irene Barksdale, 88, who died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004.

Geisler Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, is in charge.

MARY ANN BERRY BARZE

Mary Ann Berry Barze, 60, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at Belle Maison Nursing Home.

She is survived by one brother, Lionel Tibbs of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Hammond. The Rev. Donnell Henderson will conduct the funeral Saturday at 1 p.m. at Full Faith Christian Fellowship Church, Ponchatoula. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond.

Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond, is in charge.

PHYLLIS GRANIER BOURGEOIS

RESERVE -- Phyllis Granier Bourgeois, 62, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at her home of complications associated with Lou Gehrig's disease.

Survivors include her husband, Gustave J. Bourgeois Jr.; her children, Angie DeFraites of Mississippi, Gustave "Jay" Bourgeois III of Houston and Jessica B. Caldwell of Ponchatoula; and six grandchildren; and sister of Richard Jr., Francis and Hayward Granier and Brenda Boughan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Granier Sr. and Louise Barbier Granier Ockman; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace. The funeral will be Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, at 10 a.m. and burial will follow at the church cemetery.

CHARLES PAUL CURRY

KENTWOOD -- Charles Paul Curry, 75, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at Kentwood Nursing Home, Kentwood.

A native of Roseland, he is survived by his son, Larry Anderson of New Orleans; two sisters, Ardean Buchanan and Rose Bennett, both of Los Angeles; and three brothers, Alton Curry of New Orleans, James Curry of Roseland and David Curry of Los Angeles.

His parents, Richard and Marguerite Curry; one brother, Richard and one sister, Helen Williams, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 7 p.m. The Rev. John Mabry will conduct the funeral Saturday at noon, and burial will be at Big Zion Cemetery, Roseland.

LUCELIA CYPRIAN

Lucelia Cyprian, 84, a homemaker, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include one daughter, Clara Baham of Loranger; two sons, Jerome Cyprian of Folsom and John H. Cyprian of Seattle; two sisters, Maggie Volley of Lacombe and Rose Barney of Covington; one brother, Julius Cyprian of Covington; and 13 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Cyprian; two sisters, Louise Fields and Minnie Lee Cyprian; five brothers, Frank, Curtis, Robert Lee, Johnny B. and Melvin Cyprian.

Visitation will be Friday at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church from 6 until the funeral at 7 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Theodore Newman. Dismissal will be Saturday at 10 a.m., and burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond, is in charge.

CECIL HENDRICKSON JR.

DENHAM SPRINGS -- Cecil G. Hendrickson Jr., 76, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary.

He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran during the Korean Conflict and a Mason.

A native of Okmulgee, Okla., he is survived by eight children, Larry Hendrickson and Barbara Hamm, both of Oklahoma City, Okla., Sammie Wall of Indiana, David Hendrickson, and Amanda and Wendy Hendrickson, all of Kentwood; Randy Hendrickson of Denham Springs and Abbi Soileau of Baton Rouge; and 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Eva Helm of Dallas, Texas , and Virginia Quinn of Pasedena, Texas .

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Cecil and Jessie Hendrickson; one grandchild; and one brother, Burt Hendrickson.

Visitation will be Thursday at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until the Rev. Howard Turner conducts the funeral Friday at 11 a.m.

Burial will be Port Hudson National Cemetery, Port Hudson.

VIRGLE LOUIS HUTCHINSON SR.

INDEPENDENCE -- Visitation will be today at New Life Baptist Church from 3:30 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until religious services at the church at 1:30 p.m. for Virgle Louis "Bud" Hutchinson Sr., 57, who died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Hammond Nursing Home.

He was a native of Albany, a retired commercial truck driver and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict6.

Survivors include his children, Virgle Louis "Bud" Hutchinson Jr., Hammond; Angel Marie H. Stilling of Clarksville, Tenn.; William "Billy" Hutchinson, Greg Hutchinson, Jodie and Sherry Hutchinson, all of Chesapeake, Va.; Marie H. McAlister and Michelle Hutchinson, both of Tickfaw; and Jessie L. Hutchinson and Jerica L. Hutchinson, both of Independence; two brothers, Elliott Hutchinson of Holden and Robert Hutchinson of Pine; and seven sisters, Alice Maklary and Thelma Cowart, both of Albany; Mary Bigner of Hammond; Martha Ziegler and Annie Alvarez, both of Denham Springs; Delores Jones of Roseland; and Betty Rawls of Walker; and four grandsons and four granddaughters.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Sadie Renee Dinger Hutchinson; his mother, Amy Marie George Hutchinson; his father, Hardy Garfield Hutchinson; two brothers, Hardy and Richard Hutchinson; and a sister, Mildred Louise Hutchinson Stewart.

Burial will follow religious services at Hutchinson Cemetery in Tickfaw.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Geisler Funeral Home for funeral expenses.

Geisler Funeral Home of Albany is in charge of arrangements.

LEROY JOHNSON

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Full Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Ponchatoula for Leroy Johnson .

Johnson , 68, a former resident of Ponchatoula, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at his home.

He was a native of Mount Hermon and a cement contractor.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Johnson of Raleigh, N.C.; 11 daughters, Velma, Rosalind, Darlene and Sylvia Johnson , Van B. Simpson, Rena and Sonya Alexander, Gwandolyn B. Reed, Tiany and Squanah Allen and Stacy Hebert; five sons, Victor, Troy and Bobby Banks, Alvin Alexander and Ernest Allen; one sister, Mattie Briggs; two brothers, Hosie and Jimmy Johnson ; and 34 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

His parents, Richard and Erestine Dyson Johnson ; one sister, Alvia Mae Briggs; four brothers, Alton, Charlie, Issac and Elliott Johnson ; and an infant daughter, Ashley L. Johnson , preceded him in death.

The Rev. Donnell Henderson will conduct the funeral Friday at t at 1 p.m. and burial will follow at Holly Gardens Cemetery, Hammond.
