VIRGIE ARCENEAUX OWENS

HOLDEN -- Virgie Arceneaux Owens, 64, died today, June 7, 2004, at Baton Rouge General Hospital.

Survivors include three sons, Hillary Owens of Tickfaw, John Percy Owens of Walker, and Bobby Owens of Holden; two daughters, Lora Owens of Livingston, and Lilly Andrews of Holden; one sister, Katie Schenk of Holden; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Ray Owens; her parents, Hillary and Helen Stewart Owens; two sisters, Alma Carrere and Yvonne Stoetzner; one brother, Bobby Arceneaux; and one stepdaughter, Beverly Hayes.

Visitation will be today at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany, from 11 a.m. until the funeral at 2 p.m.

MARTHA SIBLEY FEE

INDEPENDENCE -- Martha Sibley Fee, 60, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at her home.

A native of Amite, she was an esthetician employed by Dr. William Kelley, and owner of New Phase LTD in Independence.

She is survived by her husband, Monty Fee of Independence; two daughters, Rae Pomares Venable of Luling, and Leslie Pomares Moon of Hammond; her mother, Hazel Zachary Sibley of Independence; and five grandchildren.

Her father, Redic Sibley, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.m. at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richard Murphy Hospice, 16013 Halbert Lane, Hammond, LA 70403.

RICHARD HARRELL

PONCHATOULA -- Richard "Dickie Thibodaux" Harrell, 71, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

He was a native of Ponchatoula, and a member of the American legion and the First Baptist Church of Ponchatoula.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Griffin Harrell; a son, Wally Vining of Ponchatoula; two daughters, Jeannie Vining Watts of Ponchatoula, and Evelyn Harrell Wright of Glenndale, Ariz.; a brother, Charles Harrell of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lillian Authement of Baton Rouge and Ruthie Berner of Ponchatoula; and four grandchildren.

His parents, Wesley and Laura May Robertson Harrell, and one brother, Robert Cutrer, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, Tuesday from 6 to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. The Rev. Stanley Day will officiate. Burial will be at Wetmore Cemetery, Ponchatoula.

VIRGIE OWENS

HOLDEN -- Virgie Owens, 64, died today, June 7, 2004, at Baton Rouge General Hospital.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond.

LEO WESTMORELAND SR.

FLUKER -- Visitation will today at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, for lifelong Tangipahoa Parish resident Leo Westmoreland Sr.

Westmoreland, 80, a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, died Sunday, May 6, 2004, at Hood Memorial Hospital, Amite.

He was a graduate of Amite High School and a 1950 graduate of Louisiana State University. He was retired from the State Forestry Commission and was an independent timber appraiser and buyer. He was a former Sunday School teacher and an active deacon at Tangipahoa Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Wilda Phillips Westmoreland; two sons, Dr. Leo Westmoreland Jr. of Hammond and Dr. Daryl M. Westmoreland of Fluker; three grandchildren; and a sister, Sue Westmoreland of McComb, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Westmoreland Sr.; two brothers, M.J. Westmoreland Jr. and Roy Westmoreland; and four sisters, Hilda Rutland, Myrtle Crawford, Hazel Quinn and Jessie Lober.

Further visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. at Tangipahoa Baptist Church, Tangipahoa, until the funeral service at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Larry Sylvest.

Burial will be at the Tangipahoa Cemetery.

LAWRENCE BERTON WILLIE

PONCHATOULA -- Lawrence Berton Willie, 71, died Saturday, June, 5, 2004, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Covington.

He was a native of Folsom.

Survivors include his wife, Patty L. Willie of Ponchatoula; two sons, Larry Willie of Folsom, and Byron Willie of Ponchatoula; a daughter, Beth Willie of Ponchatoula; a brother, Donnie Willie of Folsom; a sister, Sherry Jarrett of Bush; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

His parents, James H. And Ethelyn Sharp Willie, and two brothers, J.M. Willie and Rodney Willie, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, tonight from 6 to 10 and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Willie Cemetery, Folsom.

KATHLEEN CAMERON

VILLAGE OF TANGIPAHOA - Kathleen "Kathy" Cameron died Friday, June 4, 2004 at her residence.

The homemaker was a native Columbia, Miss.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Didone of Tangipahoa, Linda Baker of LaPorte, Texas and Glenda Williams of Rosenberg, Texas ; one son, Mike Bedwell of Selma, Ala.; two sisters, Sally Davis and Sarah Breeland of Covington; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Bedwell; her second husband, Al Cameron; one daughter, Marie Coffin; her parents, Pat Phelps and Lillie Mae Stogner; and two sisters, Aline McKenzie and Louise McMichael.

Visitation will be today at McKneely Funeral Home, Hammond from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and from 8 a.m. Monday until the funeral begins at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Tangipahoa Cemetery, Tangipahoa.

MARCO J. MANNINO

SLIDELL- Marco J. Mannino, 52, died Friday, June 4, 2004 at Slidell Memorial Hospital.

A 1973 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, the New Orleans-born teacher and musician performed for artists including Frank Sinatra Jr., Regis Philbin, Don Rickles, Ray Charles, Bob Hope, Milton Berle, Al Martino, Jerry Vail, Fabian and Frankie Avalon.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Ketteringham Mannino; two sons, Jonathan and Wesley Mannino; one daughter, Anna Mannino; two sisters, Gina Laguna and Sylvia Jaynes; one brother, Milo Mannino; his father, Frank J. Mannino and stepmother Virgie Lee Mannino.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Palazalo Mannino.

Visitation will be today from noon at Honaker Funeral Home, Slidell, until the funeral begins at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Slidell.

G.P. McMICHAEL JR.

AMITE - G.P. "Philip" McMichael Jr., 87, died Saturday June 5, 2004 at St. Tammany Parish Hopsital, Covington.

A World War II veteran, he was a retired vice president and sales manager of Brumfield Motor Company in Amite.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Nystedt McMichael of Amite; one daughter, Susan Jenkins of Amite; two sons, B.P. McMichael of Pensacola, Fla., and John McMichael of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters, Sara Wilson of Lake Charles and Ora Belle Compton of Welsh and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Virginia Wilson McMichael; one sister, Mary Mich Michael and one brother, Robert McMichael.

Visitation will be Monday at First United Methodist Church, Amite, from 1 p.m. until the Rev. Bill Willis conducts the funeral at 3 p.m. Buril will be in Amite Cemetery.

ROSA L. WILLIAMS

LOS ANGELES - Rosa L. Williams, 63, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 at her residence.

She was a native of Independence.

She is survived by seven sisters, Margaret S. Williams on Independence, Jessie Miller of Ponchatoula, Brenda Ann Mabry of LaPlace, Doretha "Juanita" Smith of New Orleans and Tamara Vernell Grant, Inetta "Zadie Lee" Horton and Linda Jean Hines of California; and three brothers, Lamar "Ray Charles" Smith Jr., Roy "Wilt" Smith and James Ronald Smith of New Orleans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman "Top" Williams; parents, Louella T. Smith and Lamar Smith Sr.; two sisters, Christine S. Robertson and Bobbie Jean Williams; and two brothers, Lawrence Smith and Preston Smith.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, Hammond. Rev. Samuel Richardson will preside over the funeral, scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Cemetery, Kenner.

OREL BROOKS

Baton Rouge native Orel Brooks, 87, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

She was a former employee of Dillard University and the Council on Aging of New Orleans. She was also a graduate of Southern University.

The funeral will be held at Peck United Methodist Church, 3631 Washington , Ave., New Orleans, at 11 a.m.

CHRISTINE LEONARD HARRISON

AMITE -- Christine Leonard Harrison, 81 died Friday, May 28, 2004, at Tangi Pines Nursing Center, Amite.

Survivors include five sons, Bernard Harrison of Baltimore, Willie Harrison and Governor Harrison Jr., both of Amite, Monroe Harrison of St. Martin, Calif., and Bobby Harrison of Hammond; six daughters, Dorothy Harrison and Evon Baham, both of Houston, Melinda Harrison of Baton Rouge, Ella Dixon of Hammond, Mary Lee Brooks of Ocala, Fla., and Alma H. Richard of Amite; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Governor Harrison; her parents, Foreman McCoy and Mary Muse; two brothers, one daughter, Leah Sopsher; and three grandchildren, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be tonight at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday at at Gordon-Richardson Temple of Deliverance COGIC, Amite, at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Big Zion Cemetery.
