He is survived by his wife, Betty Clark of Greensburg; his three sons, Kyle Lamar Curry of Hammond, Gregory Scott Curry of Denham Springs and Stephen Jim Curry of Amite; his daughter, Jennifer Nadine Curry Bagett; one sister, Martha Nell Curry Strother of Amite; and eleven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Tracy Curry and Nadine Wiggins Curry of Baton Rouge.

He was a graduate of Raceland High School, where he excelled in track and baseball. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1961 with a degree in pre-pharmacy and graduated cum laude from Loyola University with a degree in pharmacy in 1983. Upon his graduation, he was honored by the mayor of New Orleans and given the keys to the city of New Orleans for being the most outstanding pharmacy student from Loyola.

He was also a member of Rho Chi Honor Society. He also received the American Legion Award for Courage, Leadership, Honor and Service.

He opened The Curry Pharmacy in Greensburg in 1968 and in Clinton in 1974. His committment to his professional career was exemplified by his affiliations as a life member of the Louisiana Pharmaceutical Association and the National Association of Retail Druggist.

He established pharmaceutical services at the St. Helena Parish Hospital, and for the past 31 years, he served as the hospital's only pharmacist. His committment to his customers to provide exceptional services was shown by his willingness to use pharmaceutical consultation known as pharmacare.

He was King of the Forest Festival in appreciation of his service to the community. He was also selected as St. Helena's Citizen of the Year in 2003.

Curry was involved in many business activities throughout St. Helena Parish. He helped create interest in the development of oil exploration. He negotiated the land purchase for the St. Helena Civic Center. He was appointed by the police jury to serve on the industrial board that is now Southland Steel. He was instrumental in recruiting the parish's first dentist and in building him an office.

Curry served for many years as a deacon of The First Baptist Church of Greensburg. He was also a Gideon and served as a lay minister for the St. Helena Parish Jail for many years.

"Let's Look at the Word," was a weekly column that he wrote for the St. Helena Echo. Curry was also serving at The Harvest World Outreach Ministry.

He sponsored little league teams, local tennis tournaments and basketball clinics at the St. Helena Elementary School. He worked to re-establish the Boy Scouts sponsored by the First Baptist Church.

His love of his community and his committment to the spreading of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ made him an exemplary citizen. The people of St. Helena Parish have benefitted from his tireless work to improve the community. His countless hours of opening the doors to the pharmacy to provide medications to a sick person in the middle of the night or during a holiday meal, his forgoing of vacations to stay close to the hospital as its only pharmacist and his willingness to seek out the lost and hurting and provide ministry will be tremendously missed.

Services will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Amite, with visitation today at 6 p.m. until 9, and on Monday, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with the funeral at the First Baptist Church of Greensburg.

Services will be conducted by Pastor Bray Sibley and Brother Jonal Robertson.

Burial will be at The Greensbury Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to G-12 Missions Project, Harvest World Outreach Ministries, 43652 Yokum Road, Hammond, 70403.
