SHANE JOSEPH HERNANDEZ
FRANKLINTON -- Shane Joseph Hernandez, 29, died Friday, July 16, 2004, at his home.
A native of Lafayette, Hernandez is survived by his wife, Denise Leon Hernandez of Franklinton; two daughters, Sierra Morgan and Cheyenne Marie Hernandez, both of Franklinton; three sons, Kyle Joseph Hernandez of Walker and Shaun Eric and Austin David Hernandez, both of Franklinton; mother, Susie Sonnier Behrnes of Lafayette; brother Steve Hernandez of Lafayette; and paternal grandmother Octive Hernandez.
Shane Hernandez was preceded in death by his father, Stan Hernandez; paternal grandfather Wilford Hernandez; and maternal grandparents, Andrew and Bella Sonnier.
Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond and is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until a 10 a.m. religious service Tuesday . The service will be in the funeral home chapel. interment will be at the Briar Patch Cemetery
in Loranger.
GEORGE AUGUSTUS HINKSON
PICAYUNE, MISS. -- George Augustus Hinkson, 83, died Friday, July 16, 2004, at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Carriere, Miss.
A native of Loranger, he was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired Hammond postmaster, a member of American Legion Post No. 73 and a member of the Loranger United Methodist Church and the Chapel in the Pines of Picayune.
Hinkson is survived by his wife, Lucinda Hinman Hinkson of Picayune; three daughters, Florence Wilkie of Harvey, Carol Spence of Sulphur and Sonia Bidwell of Hammond; two sons, Paul Hinkson of Ponchatoula and David Hinkson of Greenwell Springs; sister Frances Marcotte of Park Falls, Wis.; brother James "Jake" Bollinger of Watson; three step-daughters, Linda Buras of Mandeville, Judy Still of Topeka, Kan., and Barbara Laird of Folsom; step-son Tommy Reed of Slidell; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
George Hinkson was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Champlin Hinkson; his parents, George and Myrtle Tycer Hinkson; brother Elmer Hinkson; and an infant sister.
Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond and is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until a 10 a.m. religious service Monday. The service will be in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dale Clabaugh will officiate the services.
interment will be at Loranger Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Chapel in the Pines, 932 Stemwood Drive, Picayune, MS 39466.
WILLIAM ARD, JR.
UNEEDUS-- William Ard, Jr. 63, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
He was a native of Uneedus.
Survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline Ard Anthony, of Husser; one son, William Ard, III, of Angie; three sisters, Anabelle Ard White and Rev. Lorena Ard Wilson, both of Loranger, Gloria Ard Graham, of Walker; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosa Reid Ard; one daughter, Monica Ard Anthony; six sisters, Rachel Pierre, Willie Williams, Brunett Ard, Gertrude Pierre, Alice Rainey and Myrle Myers; and six brothers, Jonas, Eugene, A. J., Huey, Ambrose and Tommy Ard.
Burial was Thursday at New Hope Church Cemetery, Uneedus.
Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home of Hammond was in charge.
ROSA MAE HOLDEN CALLAHAN
AVONDALE--Rose Mae Holden Callahan, 71, a native of Independence, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at Meadowcrest Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Dock A. and Donald Anderson; three daughters, Patricia McCulley, Linda Perkins and Darlene Seanehia; two sisters, Lena Hines and Genevieve Bates; one brother, Alvin Holden; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her father, Ben Holden Sr.; her mother, Rebecca Beatrice Brown Holden; four brothers, Ben Jr., James, Leonard and Charlie Holden; and one sister, Viola Brock, all preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, until the funeral at noon conducted by the Rev. Eddie Braziel. Burial will be at Holden Cemetery.
PHILLIP WAYNE CHAVERS
AMITE -- Phillip Wayne Chavers, 60, a manager for Bell South, New Orleans, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at his home.
He was a United States Marine Corp veteran and a native of Loranger.
He is survived by three sisters, Gladys Agnus Tucker of Carthage, Ind., Merle Gertrude Manguno of Baton Rouge, and Edith Irene Rauch of Benton, Ark.; one brother, Tom Tucker of Carthage; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie Edgar, Arthur Edward and John Elvin Chavers; two sisters, Eunice Finis Dupree and Gloria Patricia Naquin; and his parents, John Isaac and Mary Emily Reed Chavers.
Visitation will be at at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, Saturday from 1 until 3:30 p.m. The religious service will be at Loranger Christian Assembly at 4 p.m., followed by burial at Briar Patch Cemetery, Loranger.
JOYCE ANN CLEVENGER
TANGIPAHOA -- Joyce Ann Clevenger, 56, a native of Ohio, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Michael L. Clevenger; three daughters, Michelle Miller of Roseland, Shanna Clevenger of Albany, and Victoria Fields of Loranger; two sons, John Miller Sr. of Roseland, and Patrick Fields of Loranger; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Monday at 6 p.m. at Disciples of Christ Church, Tangipahoa, followed by family visitation at the Ponder Hotel in Amite.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
JESSIE MORGAN TONEY CUTRER
HOLDEN -- Jessie Morgan Toney Cutrer, 73, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at her home.
A native of Albany, she is survived by one son, Jessie Toney Jr. of St. Francisville; two daughters, Annette Cutrer Owens of Holden, and kaylynn Cutrer of Ponchatoula; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Cutrer; one son, Dewayne Toney; and her parents, Theodore Morgan and Winnie Methvien.
Visitation will be Saturday at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany, from 8:30 until the funeral at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Old Zion Hill Cemetery, Albany.

SHIRLEY PALISSIE LAWHORN
PONCHATOULA -- Shirley Palissie Lawhorn, 72, died at her home July 15, 2004.
She was a native of New Orleans, she is survived by two daughters, Janice Dysart of Picayune, Miss. and Debra McCraine of Ponchatoula; two sons, Billy and Bobby Lawhorn, both of Ponchatoula; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Vicki Calahan of Houma; and one brother, Joseph Palissie of Violet
Her husband, William "Bill" Lawhorn Sr.; two daughters, Lindy Denet and Carol Ann McCraine; one grandchild; three sisters, Rosie Palissie, Tiny Martin and Ether Palissie; and one brother, John Palissie, preceded her in death.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at the Ponchatoula Cemetery
at 11 a.m.

ROBERT O. TAYLOR
BATON ROUGE -- Robert O. "Bob" Taylor , 63, manager of the poultry research farm at Louisiana State University and a native of Magnolia, Miss., died at his home Wednesday, July 14, 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Loyce McDaniel Taylor of Baton Rouge; two sons, Robert "Joseph" Taylor of Jackson ville, Fla., and Wilford "Jack " Taylor of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Annelle Gray and Lula Lea Robbins, both of Atlanta; two brothers, Marland Farley Taylor of Beaumont, Texas , and John Randolph Taylor of Jackson ; and three grandchildren.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Meritte F. Taylor , and one brother, David A. Taylor , preceded him in death.
Visitation will be at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, tonight from 6:30 until 8:30 and Saturday from 10 until the funeral service conducted by the Rev. David Millican, the Rev. Cary Kimbrall and the Rev. Joseph Taylor at 11 a.m. at Terry's Creek Baptist Church, Terry's Creek, Miss. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital or Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
THORNTON O. CHADWICK SR.
Thornton O. Chadwick Sr., 75, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
A native of Picayune, Miss., he is survived by his wife, Mattie Taylor Chadwick of Hammond; three sons, Thornton O. Chadwick Jr. of Slidell, George W. Chadwick of Holden and John Chadwick of LaPlace; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Thairon Chadwick Galvez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Coletta Thigphen Chadwick; two brothers, George Earl Chadwick and Guycell Chadwick; and three sisters, Thelma Smith, Juanita Odom and Coletta Ladner.
Visitation will be Friday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, today from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 2 p.m.
Burial will be at Sand Hill Cemetery.
ELZY EVANS
INDEPENDENCE -- Elzy "Buck" Evans, 58, died Sunday, Oct. 3, ,2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
A native of Hammond, he was a welder.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Evans of Independence; one son, Chad Joseph Evans of Independence; one daughter, Christy Nicole Evans of Independence; one sister, Judy Barker of Tickfaw; three brothers, Richard and Ward Sullivan, both of Ponchatoula, and Wally Sullivan of Hammond; and his stepfather, Ward Sullivan of Ponchatoula.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elsie Evans; his mother, Katie Hardy Evans Sullivan; and one sister, Vera Jane Newman.
Visitation will be Wednesday at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 10 a.m. until the Rev. Michael Vaughn conducts the funeral at 2 p.m.
Burial will be at Colonial Cemetery, Independence.
