HENRITHA JOHNSON JACKSON

AMITE -- Henritha Johnson Jackson , 38, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at her home.

She is survived by her husband, Darin Jackson of Amite; one son, Darin Johnson of Amite; one daughter, Tatyana Lashiea Jackson of Amite; two sisters, Mary Jane Moore and Linda Diane Perkins, both of Amite; one stepsister, Tonia Bean of Loranger; two brothers, Len R. and Milton Johnson , both of Amite; her stepfather, Milton Walker Jr. of Amite; her mother, Dorothy Ann Johnson ; her father, Henry Williams Jr. of Buchanan, Michigan; and her grandfather, Albert Johnson of Amite.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Johnson ; her grandparents, Henry and Bessie Mae Williams; and one sister, Lenora Williams Holifield.

Visitation will be Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Mack Hurst will conduct the funeral Saturday at Grant Chapel AME Church, Amite at 11 a.m.

Burial will be at Butler's Cemetery, Amite.

KEETRALYNN LATONYA MOORE JONES

Keetralynn "Kee" LaTonya Moore Jones, 32, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

Survivors are her husband, Bobby Jones Sr.; three children, Kierra, Jasmine and Bobby Jr.; her mother and stepfather, Faye Moore Pittman and Willie Pittman of River Ridge; her father and stepmother, James Ray Banks and Thelma Banks of Dallas, Tex.; three sisters, Tierney Moore of River Ridge, Rosie Gee and Shawn Newton, both of Dallas; and three brothers, Correll Moore of Laurel, Miss., Charles Moore of New Orleans and Jamie McClendon of Saginaw, Mich.

Her maternal grandparents, James and Bernadine Moore; and her paternal grandparents, Robert and Rosie Lee Banks, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Friday at Greater St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Tickfaw, from 5 p.m. until the Rev. Wilbard Jones conducts the funeral at 7 p.m. Dismissal will be Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Galilee Church Cemetery, Springfield.

MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, Denham Springs, is in charge.

ANNE SCHEXNAYDRE ROQUES

LUTCHER -- Anne Schexnaydre Roques, 88, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, in Ponchatoula.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Achille Roques of Lutcher; one daughter, Sheila Dominguez of Ponchatoula; one sisters, Clara Abadie of Metairie; one brother, Lee Schexnaydre of Geismer; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilfred Sr. and Annie Waguespack Schexnaydre; three sisters, Elise Spitzfaden, Rita and Lorraine Schexnaydre; and three brothers, Burtin, Oleus and Wilfred Schexnaydre Jr.

Visitation will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, Friday from 9 until the Rev. Ed Fuss conducts the funeral at 11 a.m.

Burial will be at the church mausoleum.

Alexander Funeral Home is in charge.

WINSTON RAY ALFORD

SUNNY HILL -- Winston Ray Alford, 76, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

Born in Sunny Hill, he was a retired dairyman and in recent years raised beef cattle. He was a graduate of Franklinton High School.

He is survived by his wife, Cecile Linton Alford; one son, Lin "B" Alford; five daughters, Patricia Faith Painter of Kentwood, Cynthia Marie Lee of Sunny Hill, Judy Elizabeth Eckman of McComb, Miss., Cecilia Jan Alford of Kentwood and Rebekah Wynne Davis of Sunny Hill; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.H. "Zeke" and Lela Alford.

Visitation will be tonight at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m., and burial will be at Sunny Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Sunny Hill.

EVA BOTTOLFS

Eva Bottolfs, 92, died today, Sept. 22, 2004, at Landmark Nursing Home, Hammond.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond.

BETTY RAE DIXON

ROSELAND -- Betty Rae Dixon, 44, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

A native of Roseland, she is survived by her husband, Bobby Ray Dixon of Wilmer; one son, Ernest Dixon of Roseland; her sisters, Mary Annette Irving and Wanda Faye McCoy, both of Roseland, and Janice Marie McCoy of Baton Rouge; and her brothers, James Edward McCoy, John Allen McCoy, Stanley Berome McCoy, Jerry McCoy, all of Roseland.

Her parents, Ardamese and Ernest McCoy, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home, Amite, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Melvin Mabry will conduct the funeral Friday at Big Zion Cemetery, Roseland, at 12:30 p.m., and burial will be at Big Zion Cemetery, Roseland.

MARY MICIOTTO GALLO

KENNER -- Burial was today at Metairie Cemetery for Mary Miciotto Gallo, 90, who died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

Born in New Orleans, she is was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Curder; one brother, Roy Miciotto of Bossier City; one sister, Walla Miciotto of Bossier City; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lakelawn Metairie Funeral Home was in charge.

LULLA BELL SMITH

SPRINGFIELD -- Lulla Bell Smith, 71, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond.

She is survived by her husband, Q.C. Smith; five sons, Lawrence Smith, the Rev. Robert Smith, Glen Smith and Charles Smith, all of Springfield, and Clarence Smith of Montpelier; four daughters, Lucille Foster, Essella Jackson , Darlene White and Lurena Smith, all of Springfield; a stepson, James Smith of Springfield; two stepdaughters, Georgia Showers and Dorothy Burnette, both of Springfield; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday at Greater Mount Bethlehem Baptist Church, Killian, from 9 a.m. until the Rev. Robert Smith conducts the funeral at 11. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

LULLA BELL SMITH

SPRINGFIELD -- Visitation will be Saturday at Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church, Killian, from 9 a.m. for Lulla Bell Smith, 71, who died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

She is survived by her husband, Q.C. Smith of Springfield; five sons, Lawrence Smith, the Rev. Robert Smith, Glen Smith and Charles Smith, all of Springfield, and Clarence Smith of Montpelier; four daughters, Lucille Foster, Essella Jackson , Darlene White and Lurena Smith, all of Springfield; a stepson, James Smith of Hammond; two stepdaughters, Georgia Showers and Dorothy Burnette, both of Hammond; and 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

JOSEPH VAN JR.

PLAIN DEALING -- Joseph Van Jr., 81, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Shreveport following a short illness.

Born in Independence, he was reared in Kentwood where he graduated from Kentwood High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy as Chief Petty Officer in World Ward II and once returning home he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and retired in 1964 after 18 years of service. He also retired as a Civil Service Planning Engineer at Barksdale Air Force Base.

He was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Bossier Parish Sheriffs Posse; a member of the District 12 Veteran of Foreign Wars Honor Guard and the American Legion; and member of the Wilkes-Strange VFW Post 5099 where he served as quartermaster for 37 years.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Yvonne Perry Van of Plain Dealing; his son, Perry Van of Bradley, Ark.; his daughter, Melanie K. Sayers of Prescott, Ark.; three grandchildren; his sister, Katherine Dufour of Hammond; and his brother, William P. Van of Denham Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Van Sr. and Lena Spears Van; one sister, Patty Munson; and one grandchild.

A funeral service was held Aug. 30, 2004, at Oak Hill Baptist Church. Burial with military graveside rites conducted by the 12th District Department of Louisiana Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Honor Guard of Bossier City was at Rocky Mount Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary of Plain Dealing.

Donations in Van's memory may be made to the District 12 VFW Honor Guard, P.O. Box 8401, Bossier City, LA 71113 or the charity of your choice.

HILLARY BARKER SR.

PONCHATOULA -- Hillary "Willie Hillary" Barker Sr., 77, died Sept. 17, 2004, at Belle Maison Nursing Home.

Survivors include two sons, Rusty Barker of Springfield and Marshall Barker; two daughters, Joyce B. Warren of Baton Rouge and Peggy B. Hutchinson of Springfield; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

His wife, Thelma Reynolds Barker; his parents, C.L. Barker and Jennie Yawn Barker; and a sister, Avis Barker Decota, preceded him in death.

At the request, his body was donated to LSU Medical School. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice.

GENEVA WELLS CONLEAY

PONCHATOULA -- Geneva Wells Conleay, 60, a native of Ponchatoula, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Belle Maison Nursing Home.

She is survived by one son, Bucky Wells Jr. of Ponchatoula; one daughter, Debbie Wells-Dunning of Ponchatoula; and five grandchildren.

The family requests donations be made in her memory to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, 15728 Paul Vega MD Drive, Hammond, 70403.

Geisler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
