FRANCES AGNES RODI HANSON
Frances Agnes Rodi Hanson, 89, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at her home in Hammond.
A native of Buras, Hanson is survived by three daughters, Patricia Sylvester of Elm Grove, Peggy Hanson of Hammond and Jeanette Marallo of Arabi; a son, Clyde Hanson of Kenner; two sisters, Angela Travis of San Antonio and Mary Moreau of Arabi; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hunter Hanson; her parents, Lawrence and Mary Brown Rodi; and three sisters, Nola, Alice and Rose.
Visitation will be at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Tickfaw Monday from 11 a.m. until the funeral at 1 p.m.
interment will be at Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery
in Tickfaw.
ISABELLA HOGAN
Isabella Hogan, 86, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004.
Hogan is survived by four daughters, Gloria Moore and Yvonne Jackson of Hammond, Eldoria Lewis of Amite and Albertina Dove of Oakland; six sons, James Hogan of Modesto, Calif., Lawrence Hogan of San Jose, Calif., Thomas, Floyd and Kenneth Hogan, all of Hammond, and Eddie Hogan of Amite; 120 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister and a brother.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home in Hammond. The funeral will begin 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kingdom Hall in Tickfaw. Burial will be at Holly Garden Cemetery
in Hammond.
PEGGY LYNETTE MARTIN HOOVER
PONCHATOULA -- Peggy Lynette Martin Hoover, 56, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at her home.
A native of Livingston Parish, Hoover is survived by her husband, Howell Hoover Jr. of Ponchatoula; a daughter, Amy Hoover Smith of Ponchatoula; a son, Paul Thompson Hoover of Lake Jackson , Texas ; four sisters, Yvonne Grantham of Holden, Brenda Gatlin of Toledo Town, Delores Reed of Danielville, Ga., and Faye Huff of Denham Springs; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse "Jake" and Joyce Gill Martin, and her brother, Charles Martin.
Visitation will be Tuesday at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 11 a.m. until the funeral at 1 p.m. Gilbert Reese and Eric White will conduct the service, and burial will be at Bennett Cemetery
in Goodbee.
DOMINICK JAMES LAROCK
MARKSVILLE -- Dominick James Larock, 88, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at Colonial Nursing Home here.
A former Independence resident, Larock was a veteran of the Air Force as a tail gunner on a B-17 bomber.
He was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and was a retired school teacher.
Larock is survived by two daughters, Roxanne Maupin and Mary Gordon of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, John Larock of Independence; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Dupuy.
A military funeral was held at Colonial Mausoleum in Independence last month.
CAROLYN LUCAS
PONCHATOULA -- Carolyn Lucas, 34, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at her home.
A native of Ponchatoula, Lucas is survived by her daughter, Jamecia Lucas; four sons, James Pea III, Peter Lucas of Oklahoma City, Okla., Epson Wilson of Gladewater, Texas , and LeOtis Tatum of Denver; seven sisters, Geneava Lucas, Johnnie Mae Lucas of Gladewater, Elizabeth Robinson of Amite, Margaret Davis of Lake Charles, Linda Williams, Henrietta, Marilyn and Julia Lucas, all of Ponchatoula; and two brothers, William and Scott Lucas Jr., both of Ponchatoula.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Juline Lucas; her father, Albert Hunter; and a daughter, Jamez Lucas.
The funeral was Saturday, and burial was at Ponchatoula Cemetery.

ARIEL VICTORIA MILLER
PONCHATOULA -- Ariel Victoria Miller, 14, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Children's Hospital in New Orleans.
She is survived by her parents, Chad and Felicia Marie Miller of Ponchatoula; two sisters, Brittnay and Katelynn Miller of Ponchatoula; her maternal and paternal grandparents and maternal great-grandparents.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal great-grandparents.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula and Tuesday from 8 to 10:45 a.m. The funeral will be at 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula.
interment will be at Sand Hill Cemetery
in Ponchatoula.
DOUGLAS MACK PREVOST
ROBERT -- Douglas Mack Prevost, 60, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at his daughter's home in Loranger.
A native of Robert, Prevost is survived by his wife, Brenda Hawkins Prevost of Robert; two daughters, Sheila P. Duhe of Loranger and Lissa P. Duhe of Albany; a son, Kirk Douglas Prevost of Hammond; two sisters, Linda Coumes of Ponchatoula and Peggy Johnson of Loranger; two brothers, Tym Prevost of Robert and Carl Prevost of Hammond; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Henrietta Oliphant Prevost.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, and Monday from 8 a.m. until the funeral at 11. Burial will be at Prevost Cemetery.
EUNICE GAUBERT ROBERT
LULING -- Eunice Gaubert Robert, 88, a native of Luling, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence F. Robert Sr.; two sons, Lawrence F. Robert Jr. and Ralph J. Robert Sr.; a daughter, Elaine St. Pierre; a brother, Irby Gaubert; two sisters, Ethel Keller and Leah Rae Cantrelle; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, Ambrose and Leah Zeringue Gaubert; five brothers, Lawrence, Emmerson, Norman, Clifford and Dennis Gaubert; and a sister, Agnes Adams, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, Monday from 9 a.m. until the funeral at 11. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Louisiana Alzheimer's Association or River Region Hospice.

THOMAS EUGENE SHAFFETT
ALBANY -- Thomas Eugene Shaffett, 67, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
A native of Amite, Shaffett was a member of the Boilermaker's Local No. 582 in Baton Rouge and the Little River United Pentecostal Church in Tickfaw.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Edwards Shaffett of Albany; two daughters, Brenda Shaffett Hughes and Michelle Shaffett McTaggart, both of Albany; a son, Jeffrey Shaffett of Livingston; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ora Lea Payne Shaffett; two sisters, Mildred and Jo Ann Shaffett; and five brothers, Jerry Wayne, Joseph, Dave, Wilson and Morris Shaffett.
Visitation will be today at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 8 a.m. until the Rev. Adriene Spikes, the Rev. Keith Payne and the Rev. Marvin Arceneaux conduct the funeral at 1 p.m.
Burial will be at Twin Pines Cemetery
in Holden.
DEWAYNE SWERER
TICKFAW -- Dewayne "Big Cat" Swerer, 42, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia P. Swerer of Tickfaw; a daughter, Kelli Swerer of Picayune, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Christi Jaeger and Summer Wells, both of Tickfaw; two stepsons, Jimmy Griffin of Covington and Chad Griffin of Madisonville; his mother, Oneda Kinchen of Prairieville; two sisters, Jeri War and Patty Swerer of California; two brothers, Bobby McAlister of French Settlement and Ralph Lucero of Ponchatoula; and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Swerer.
Visitation will be today at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery
in Albany.
LAURA HOLMES Washington
HOUSTON -- Laura Holmes Washington , 55, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
A native of Greensburg, Washington is survived by her husband, Frank Washington of Houston; her son, Sterling Washington of Houston; two sisters, Louise Galmon of Amite and Doris Baker of New Orleans; two brothers, Jimmy Holmes of Hammond and Vernell Brown of Baton Rouge.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and four brothers.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home of Amite. The funeral, conducted by the Rev. J. K. Holiday Sr., will start 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rocky Hill Church in Greensburg. Burial will be at Rocky Hill Cemetery
in Greensburg.
GILDA FAY BIGNER ALEXANDER
Gilda Fay Bigner Alexander, 64, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at her home.
She had resided in Pumpkin Center and Anchorage, Alaska.
She is survived by two sons, William "Billy" Alexander Jr. and Darryl Alexander, both of Anchorage; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Sedonia Hutchinson of Indiana, June Bateman of Pumpkin Center and Doris Normand, Princetown, Minn.
Her parents, Roger Gene and Lillian Ballard Bigner; her husband, William "Bill" Alexander Sr.; a daughter, Beverly Irene Alexander; a son, Travis Wayne Alexander; three brothers, Buster, Reynold and Bee Bigner; and two sisters, Louise Lociccero and Glory Jean Wheat, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Stacy Morgan will conducted the funeral Wednesday at 10 a.m., and burial will be in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery, Pumpkin Center.
