JULIA MAE FITZGERALD
Julia Mae Fitzgerald, 78, a native of Robert and a member of First Christian Church Center in Hammond, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Georgia Medical Center.
She is survived by six daughters, Veronica Fitzgerald Jones of Knoxville, Tenn., Betty Carroll of Germantown, Tenn., Kathie Thompson, Aiken, S.C., Johnnie Lynn Fitzgerald of Denham Springs, Janice Fitzgerald Hughie and Ellen Pias, both of Hammond; a sister, Vesta McMorris of Hammond; a brother, Leo Ochsner of Seattle; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband, John A. Fitzgerald; a brother, Austin W. Ochsner; and a sister, Pauline Ochsner, preceded her in death.
The funeral was today at First Christian Church Center, and burial was in Pilgrim Rest in Covington.
Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, was in charge of arrangements.
PAULINE HART
PONCHATOULA -- Pauline Hart, 46, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, in Ponchatoula.
Survivors include her parents, Sim and Delia McKay Hart of Ponchatoula; three sons, Keith, Marvin and Johnathan Hart, all of Ponchatoula; one sister, Carolyn Charleston of Atlanta; three brothers, Phillip, Marty and Dion Hart, all of Ponchatoula; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Demetrius Hart.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at N. A. James Funeral Home, Hammond. The funeral will be Tuesday at noon followed by burial at Ponchatoula Cemetery.
PEGGY LYNETTE MARTIN HOOVER
PONCHATOULA -- Peggy Lynette Martin Hoover, 56, a native of Livingston died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at her home.
Survivors include her husband, Howell Hoover Jr. of Ponchatoula; a daughter, Amy Hoover Smith of Ponchatoula; a son, Paul Lambert Hoover of Lake Jackson , Texas ; two grandchildren; and four sisters, Yvonne Grantham of Holden, Brenda Gatlin of Toledo Town, Delores Reed of Danielville, Ga., and Faye Huff of Denham Springs.
Her parents, Jesse "Jake" and Joyce Gill Martin; and a brother, Charles Martin preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son, Hammond, Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until Gilbert Reese and Eric White conduct the funeral at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery, Goodbee.
CAROLYN LUCAS
PONCHATOULA -- Carolyn Lucas, 34, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at her home.
Survivors include her two children, Jamecia Lucas and James Pea III, both of Roseland; eight sisters, Linda Williams, Henrietta, her twin, Marilyn, and Julia Lucas, all of Ponchatoula; Geneava and Johnnie Mae Lucas, both of Gladewater, Texas , Margaret Davis of Lake Charles and Elizabeth Robinson of Amite; four brothers, William Scott Jr. of Ponchatoula, Otis Tatumn of Denver, Epson Wilson of Gladewater, Texas , and Peter Lucas of Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jamez Lucas; her mother, Juline Lucas; and her father, Albert Hunter.
The Rev. Larry Jackson conducted the funeral Saturday at Community Baptist Church, Hammond, and burial was at Ponchatoula Cemetery.
N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond, was in charge.
SENA MARIE ROBERTSON BAHAM
BOGALUSA -- Sena Marie Robertson Baham, 33, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Louisiana State University Medical Center, Bogalusa.
A native of Hammond, she worked as a manager of Butter Krisp of Covington.
She is survived by one daughter, Shelia Quinshay Baham; three brothers, Joe and Terry Martin and Holden Robertson, all of Hammond; and three sisters, Donna Martin Stevens of Hattiesburg, Miss., Phyllis Robertson Stevens of Hammond and Christine Hadiyah Ahmad of San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald H. and Woodie Ruth Colburn Robertson; two sisters, Shelia Martin Palmer and Debra Lee Catritt; and her grandparents, Holden and Effie Gordon Robertson and Ervin and Mathilda Colburn.
The Rev. Colon L. Havard and the Rev. Dardan Loper conducted the funeral Monday at Rhymes Missionary Baptist Church, Lucedale, Miss., and burial was at the church cemetery.
George County Funeral Home, Lucedale, was in charge.
BENNIE MITCHELL
SPRINGFIELD -- Bennie Mitchell, 72, a native of Killian, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Mitchell; three daughters, Stacy Johnson of Kenner, Marlene Payne of Hammond and Quachelle Cockerham of Ponchatoula; two sons, Anthony Mitchell of Lutcher and Bennie Mitchell Jr. of Hammond; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday at N.A. James Funeral Home, Hammond, from 5 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Killian. The Rev. Robert Smith will officiate.
Burial will be at Mitchell Cemetery, Killian.
FRANK J. NOTO
COTTONWOOD, Ariz. -- Military services were held Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, in Arizona for Frank J. Noto.
Noto, 74, a retired Korean War veteran, died at Valley Verde Hospital in Cottonwod.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Matthew Frank; two grandchildren; three brothers, Sam of Baton Rouge, Victor and Tony Sr., both of Independence; four sisters, Sarah Bocage of Chalmette, Anna N. Farris and Josephine Drago, both of Hammond, and Lucy Bellavia of Amite.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael John; his father and mother, Vito and Laura Noto; and three brothers, Carlo, Vincent and Joe.
DOROTHY PREVOST REEL
Dorothy Prevost Reel, 74, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.
She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church of Ponchatoula.
Survivors include two sons, James Prevost of Robert and Al Prevost of Ponchatoula; two daughters, Sandra Dobson of Hammond and Judy Marler of Alexandria; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Prevost; a second husband, Melton Reel; a son, Marvin Prevost Jr.; one daughter, Jeannie Magee and numerous brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday at Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral at 10:30.
Burial will be at Marvin Prevost Memorial Cemetery, Robert.
THOMAS EUGENE SHAFFETT
ALBANY -- Thomas Eugene Shaffett, 67, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, Baton Rouge.
A native of Amite, he was a member of Boilermakers Local 582 of Baton Rouge and a member of Little River United Pentecostal Church, Tickfaw.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Edwards Shaffett of Albany; two daughters, Brenda Shaffett Hughes and Michelle Shaffett McTaggart, both of Albany; one son, Jeffrey Shaffett of Livingston; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ora Lea Payne Shaffett; one grandchild; two sisters, Mildred and Jo Ann Shaffett; and five brothers, Jerry Wayne, Joseph, Dave, Wilson and Morris Shaffett.
The Rev. Adriene Spikes, the Rev. Keith Payne and the Rev. Marvin Arceneaux conducted the funeral Sunday at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond.
Burial was at Twin Pines Cemetery, Holden.

PONCHATOULA -- Arrangements are incomplete for Elmer Edwin Stevens.
Stevens, 89, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond.

MARJORIE LOUISE FUSSELL BEARD
PONCHATOULA -- Marjorie Louise Fussell Beard, 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at Summit Hospital, Baton Rouge.
She was a native of Franklinton and a member of Crossgate Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Virginia Hawkins, Dianne Tolley and Cathy Hollie, all of Ponchatoula; two sons, Kendall Beard of Ponchatoula and Dale Beard of Denham Springs; one sister, Joy Blount of Ponchatoula; one brother, Earl Fussell of Houma; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dessie Nalee Beard; her mother, Catherine Fussell; her father, Alsee Delos Fussell; her daughter, Peggy Sue Camarata; one brother, Huey Fussell; and three sisters, Darlene Mizell, Claudine Fort and Ruth Mizell.
Visitation will be today at Geisler Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the funeral at 10. The Rev. Louis Husser will conduct the service, and burial will be at Sand Hill Cemetery.
AUDREY LEE CALVARUSO
SPRINGFIELD -- Audrey Lee Calvaruso, 52, died, Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at her home.
She was a member of Bethany World Prayer Center.
Survivors include a son, Dawaine Strahan; a daughter, Francheska Little; one grandchild; her mother, Janie Pearson; six sisters, Linda Staffored, Betty McMorris, Lynn Smith, Debbie Deadours, Sheila Hano and Nikki Stafford; two brothers, David and Thom Diley Stafford.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Stafford; and a son, Ladale Strahan.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 10 p.m. at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the the Rev. Jimmy Stewart conducts the funeral at 11.
Burial will be at James Chapel Cemetery, Holden.
