A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she died Monday, July 28, 2003, at her home in Prairieville. She was 79, a native of Cleveland, Miss., and a resident of Prairieville. interment in Cornerview Cemetery. Survived by her daughter, Cindy Richard, Prairieville; a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Sharon Greer, Shreveport; four grandchildren and two grandsons-in-law, Angel and Leon Norsworthy, April and Sau Dang, and Farrel Richard Jr., all of Prairieville, and Rance Greer, Arkansas; six great-grandchildren, Zachary and Cameron Barrow, Tyler and Isabella Norsworthy and Trynity and Davyn Richard; and a sister, Mae Passman, Prairieville. Preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae Greer. She will be greatly missed by all of her family.

HALL, CARL WINDELL "SHINE"
A laborer and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. He was 45 and a native of Gonzales. interment in Do Right Baptist Church cemetery. Survived by his fiancee, Jacqueline Davis, Baton Rouge; three sisters, Barbara and Grace Hall, and Elisa Queen of Gonzales; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his father, mother, a brother and a stepson.

JAMES, PERCY
A retired pipe fitter with BASF, TDI Unit, Geismar, he died Monday, July 28, 2003, at 11:45 p.m. He was 68 and a resident and native of Baker. He received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force. interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. He is survived by a daughter, Shena Michelle Byrd; a sister, Jessie Mae James-Simon; two aunts, Doal James and Dorothy Tate; three uncles, Lester Kelly, Clarence Tate and Sam and wife Nora James; two brothers-in-law, Oscar Haney and Charles Simon; and three godchildren, Tara Dunn, Brian Riley and Sharon Horton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine H. James; parents, Albert and Mattie James; and a brother, Albert James Jr.

JENKINS, HENRY O. "HANK"
An employee of Gulf States Utilities with more than 40 years of service, he died Monday, July 28, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Flannery Oaks Guest House. He was 82, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Mount Hope, W.Va. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Pat Jenkins, Prairieville; two sisters, Betty Kibbe and Anna Dickens, both of West Virginia; and five grandchildren, Tara Dixon and husband Randall, Butch Jenkins and wife Sondra, Laurie Gautreau and Michael and Steven Fontenot. Preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Imogene Jenkins; parents, Frank Sr. and Rose Jenkins; and two brothers, Tom Jenkins and Frank Jenkins Jr. Pallbearers were ushers of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church. His family wishes to express sincere thanks to Flannery Oaks caregivers, Lisa, April and Toni, and also to very special friends, Charles and Iris Almond. He was a member and usher of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

JOHNSON, MARGARET W. "MOMO"
She was a maintenance worker with the Iberville Parish School Board and a lifelong resident of Donaldsonville. She died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, at her home, at age 61. interment in True Friend Cemetery. She is survived by a daughter, Lois Janet Greene, Plaquemine; a sister, Carol Woods , Plaquemine; a brother, Charles Woods , Bayou Goula; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge.

MONTERO, JAMES LOUIS "JIMMY"
A retired purchasing manager for Shell Oil Co. with 38 years of service and a resident of Napoleonville he died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Napoleonville. He was 81, a former resident of White Castle and a native of Donaldsonville. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. interment in Ascension Catholic Church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Emma "Kitty" Walker Montero, Napoleonville; a son, Richard "Dickie" Montero, Napoleonville; two sisters, Jeanne Herig, Gonzales, and Fay Montero, Donaldsonville; a brother, Larry Montero, Donaldsonville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph H. Sr. and Louise Mariette Montero; twin sister, Josie Acosta; an infant sister, Mariette Montero; and five brothers, Odell, Raymond, Andrew, Sam and Hannon Montero. He was a graduate of Ascension Catholic High School.

ROBERTS, WILLIAM A. "BILL"
A retired welder and member of Boilermakers Local in Kansas City, Kan., he died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, in Gonzales. He was 75, a resident of Gonzales and a native of Leon County, Fla. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Charles Coleman. Eulogy will be delivered by Floyd "Man" Roberts. interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. Survived by his wife, Juanita A. Aultman Roberts, Gonzales; five daughters, Linda J. Coleman, Tallahassee, Fla., Cathy B. Crosley, Saginaw, Mich., Anita Riddle, Walker, Brenda Wallace, McNeil, Miss., and Rebecca Williams, Gonzales; four sons, William L. "Buddy" Roberts and William A. "Sonny" Roberts Jr., both of Tallahassee, Fla., Larry W. Roberts, Baltimore, and Gary Harvey, Grainville; a nephew, Floyd "Man" Roberts, Wakula, Fla.; and 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Alvie Roberts; a son, Ernest Harvey; a daughter, Joyce Yawn; and two brothers and three sisters. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.

ROUSSEAU, NANCY ANN LANOUX
A retired saleswoman and a resident of St. Amant, she died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Gonzales. She was 48 and a native of Baton Rouge. interment in Holy Rosary Catholic Church cemetery. Survived by her father and mother, George and Romona Lambert Lanoux, Head of Island; a daughter and son-in-law, Chasity and Chris Scherer, St. Amant; two stepchildren, Rodney Rousseau and Lisa Jacobs, both of St. Amant; a special friend, Jim Lanoux, Gonzales; two sisters, Vanessa Magette, Baton Rouge, and Wanita LeBlanc , Gonzales; a brother, William "Bill" Lanoux, Gonzales; and two grandchildren, Cody and Christen Scherer; and seven stepgrandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Dale Rousseau.

SINGLETON, ONEAL "PLUT"
A brick layer and resident of Atlanta, he died at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at his daughter's home in Atlanta. He was 67, a native of Belle Alliance and a former longtime resident of Donaldsonville. interment in Protestant Cemetery. He is survived by 11 daughters, Vera Richardson, Desral Patton, Debra Jackson , Barbara Whittington, Tammy Gibson, Charlotte Jackson , Deon Walker, Shannon James, Kenisha Farlough, Gabriel and Dianna Singleton; seven sons, O'Neal Mills and Bruce, Elston, Charles, Kenneth, Kevin and Steven Singleton; a sister, Dorothy Gross; two brothers, Ben and Wilson Singleton; 36 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgeaner Jones; a sister, Velma Alonzo; and father, Ben Singleton.

WILSON, BESSIE SMITH
Bessie Smith Wilson was born on Nov. 23, 1935, to the parentage of Anna Brady and Isaac Smith of Sorrento. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Baton Rouge. Bessie Smith Wilson was baptized at Jeremiah Baptist Church and later joined the Christian Assembly, where she served in the choir. She was a teacher's aide with Ascension Parish school system for 25 years. Bessie Smith Wilson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her husband of 46 years, James Wilson Jr.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Herbert Foster, Carolyn and Gregory Brown and Wanda and Darryl Coleman, all of Sorrento, and Stephanie and John Heatly, Baton Rouge; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Andrea Wilson and James III and Janice Wilson, all of Sorrento. She has 15 grandchildren and one expected; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Theresa Kelson and Augustine Wilson; three brothers, James, Henry and John Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Cloyd L. Wilson.

BOUCHER, RONNIE THOMAS
Manager of Capitol Concrete and a resident of Gonzales, he died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2003, in Gonzales. He was 59 and a native of Epson, England. He was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003. Cremation to follow the service. Survived by his wife, Judy Behrens Boucher, Gonzales; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Willie McCoy, Canada; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jane Boucher, Canada; two stepdaughters, Tania Forbes and Mary Brown, both of Albany, Ore.; a stepson, Scott Warren, Albany; three brothers, Lenny, Butch and Alec Boucher, all of Canada; and 10 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Patricia Reid Boucher; and a brother, Paul Boucher.

BOURGEOIS, LENA WEBRE
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lena Webre Bourgeois died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, in Thibodaux. She was 89 and a resident and native of Vacherie. Entombment in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Vacherie. Survived by her husband of 68 years, Ellis J. Bourgeois; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Edward Hymel, Destrehan, Eva and Robert Dufresne, Gramercy, Jeanne and Norman Adams, Vacherie, Corrine and Alvin Dupepe, Donaldsonville, and Susan and Randy Hotard, Vacherie; sons and daughters-in-law, Leo and Gaynell Bourgeois, Roland and Linda Bourgeois, Ronald and Julie Bourgeois and Teddy and Debbie Bourgeois, all of Vacherie; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Antoinette W. Gravois, Donaldsonville. Preceded in death by her parents, Antoine Benonie and Eva Steib Webre; two sons, Robert and Al Bourgeois; two grandsons, Leo Bourgeois Jr. and Matthew Dupepe; an infant great-granddaughter, Alyssa Nickens; two brothers, Stanford Webre and Antoine Maurice Webre; and two sisters, Simone W. Schexnayder and Genieve W. Falgoust.

DECOU, JEANETTE MARIE LEBLANC
A housewife, mother and seamstress, she was born on May 18, 1939, in Patoutville. She died at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, after a battle with lung cancer. She was a graduate of St. Joseph School in Jeanerette. Survived by her husband, Russell J. Decou, whom she married on Dec. 5, 1959; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri Decou Toler and husband Charles of Bartlett, Tenn., and Jennifer Decou Doughty and husband Joseph of Valdosta, Ga.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Matthew Decou and wife Melanie Lea of St. Amant and Gene Decou of Baton Rouge and ex-wife Susan Hayman Authement of Gonzales; a sister, Debra LeBlanc Guilbeau and husband Willie Jr. of New Iberia; a brother-in-law, Rodney Decou and wife Shirley Patrick of Cayon Lake, Texas ; three sisters-in-law, Mertice Decou Picard and husband Calvin of Jeanerette, Ellen Ann Decou Yates of Sulfur and Claire Decou LeBlanc and husband Sonny of Gonzales; grandchildren, Nicholas and Andrew Toler, Adam, Alyssa, Brittany and Courtney Doughty, Phillip and Jordan Decou and Angela Elizabeth Authement; nieces and nephews; a great-nephew; godchildren; loving and faithful friends. Preceded in death by her father and mother, Phillip LeBlanc and Marie Breaux; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Andrew and Amanda Broussard Decou. Pallbearers were Matthew and Gene Decou, Charles Toler, Joseph Doughty, Nicholas Toler and Andrew Toler. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Prejean, Willie Guilbeau Jr., Adam Doughty, Phillip and Jordan Decou, Jay Hathcox and Roger and Chris Steffers. She loved to travel and had been to 46 of the lower 48 states and had lived in many of them. She also traveled extensively in Canada. She had made quite a few custom dolls that were sold throughout the United States, mostly on the East Coast.

DELAUNE, LOIS PARENT
A resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at her residence. She was 85 and a native of Ascension Parish. interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her husband, Woodrow W. DeLaune; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda DeLaune Brown and Bruce Edwin Brown and Iris DeLaune Troxclair and Donald Joseph Troxclair; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul Wayne DeLaune, and Steve Charles DeLaune and Patricia Schneblen DeLaune; a sister, Elvira "Tootsie" Parent Broussard; two brothers, Cleve Parent and wife Mae, and Evert Parent and wife Heidi; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Leonard, Henry, Benjamin F. and Ray J. DeLaune; and sisters-in-law, Miriam Graves and husband Florence DeLaune, and Lilly Belle D. Hernandez. Preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Earline LeBlanc ; and a grandson, Douglas DeLaune. Pallbearers were Matthew and Timothy Brown, Chris DeLaune, Donnie Troxclair, Steve DeLaune Jr. and Darren DeLaune. She was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church.
