She is survived by her mother, Ramonia Stewart, Baton Rouge; father, Robert Rushing, Galvez; a sister, and brother-in-law, Renekia Ward-Parnell and husband Thaddeaus; a brother, Ron and wife Kasey Ward, Shreveport; two stepbrothers, Robert Jr. and wife Stacy Rushing, Norfolk, Va. and Rodriguez and wife Keisha Rushing, Baton Rouge; four uncles, Jerry and wife Shirley Stewart and Larry Stewart, all of Baton Rouge, Harold and wife Tonya Stewart, Gonzales, and Eldgric Stewart, Galvez; an aunt, Debra Stewart, Baton Rouge; great-grandmother, Georgia Williams, Galvez; a godson whom she adored, Carrington Stewart, Galvez; a devoted and lifelong friend, Tiffany Joy Irving, Prairieville; a niece, nephews, other family members, friends and associates. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Aljia "Sam" and Daisey Bee Stewart, formerly of Galvez.

Achée, Nita Mary Ladner
Nita Mary Ladner Achée, 83, a resident of Gonzales, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, in Baton Rouge. She was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Fenton, Miss. Before moving to Gonzales, she lived in Opelousas, Gulfport, Miss., and Pascagoula, Miss. She was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales and was a loving and devoted wife of 58 years to the late Earl Maurice Achée. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Louise Marie Achée Cashat and Nolan Cashat of Gonzales; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Maurice Achée and Pat Achée, Citronelle, Ala.; three sisters, Valina Ladner, Gulfport, Miss., Wilda Moran, Pass Christian, Miss., and Adele LaFontaine, Bay St. Louis, Miss.; brother, Merlin Ladner, Diamondhead, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Laura Achée, Anchorage, Alaska, James Cashat, Brishan, Austria, Chris Cashat, Gonzales, Melanie Cashat Hunt, Houston, Jake Achée, Jackson , Miss., Julie Achée, Corinth, Miss., Mark Achée, Petal, Miss., and Shelly Achée, Citronelle; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Delarie Joseph and Cevelia Rose Ladner; a sister, Clara McLeod; and brother, Norman Ladner. interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, La. Hwy. 30, Gonzales.

BOURGEOIS, LEONA J.
Leona J. Bourgeois died Saturday evening, Dec. 11, 2004, at Gonzales Health Care Center, Gonzales. She was the beloved sister of Albert G. Bourgeois, Denham Springs. She was 90, a native of Lutcher and longtime resident of Gonzales for 31 years. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Achille J. and Florence B. Bourgeois, who were of Lutcher; four brothers; a sister; and most recently, a sister-in-law, Natalie Alleman Bourgeois, R.N., who was of Denham Springs. Entombment in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Paulina.

CAPELLO, LOU ANN DUPLESSIS
A homemaker, former nurse practitioner in Donaldsonville and a volunteer worker in Special Services for years at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, she died at 5:12 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 77, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Darrow. interment in Prairieville Community Cemetery. Survived by a sister, Evelyn D. Lafitte; two nephews, Mark Lafitte, Baton Rouge, and Kirk Lafitte and wife, Jennifer, Darrow; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Gassert, Washington , Kan., and Joyce Tridico, Gonzales. Preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Cubbie" Capello; and parents, John Wright and Milda L. Duplessis.

Craighead, Lise Falcon
A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a resident of Donaldsonville and a retired employee of The Cigar Factory, she died at 8:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in Gonzales. She was 89, born Dec. 24, 1914, in Donaldsonville. interment in Ascension Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne G. Craighead and fiancé Lloyd Brown, St. Amant; five grandchildren and spouses, Ryan Diez, St. Amant, Dana Diez Talbot and Denis Talbot, Thibodaux, Kristi Diez Gros and James Gros Jr., Paulina, Alysha Foret Guidry and Michael Guidry, Denham Springs, and Gerald and Karen Foret, Donaldsonville; great-grandchildren, Michael and Lauren Diez, Brittani and Cody Talbot, Seth Gros, Allyson Guidry and Alec Foret; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Jarrotte, Donaldsonville; sisters-in-law, Rita B. Falcon, Irma L. Falcon and Noalie B. Falcon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Craighead; daughter, Alice Foret; parents, Norris Sr. and Theresa Solar Falcon; three sisters, Joyce F. Cooley, Anita F. Brown and Claudia Falcon; and three brothers, Norris "Bubbie" Falcon Jr., Elray "Ray" Falcon Sr. and Andrew "Tutty" Falcon Sr.

Heath, Jere C.
A loving mother, sister and grandmother, she died on the morning of Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. She was 68, a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Gonzales. She was a retired mental health technician with St. Elizabeth Hospital. interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. She is survived by a son, Bob Heath and wife Alice; three daughters, Darlene Lamendola, Donna Perdue, Tracy Heath and partner, Holly Delatte; two brothers, C.L. Cranfield and Elmer Cranfield; and nine grandchildren, Oleana and Louie Lamendola, Erin, Michael and Emily Perdue, Jim Perrodin, Chelsea Heath, Maegon Hooper and Cassie Heath. Preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Alice B. Covington Gaudin and V.J. "Frenchie" Gaudin; father, Claude L. Cranfield Sr.; and a brother, Harold Cranfield. Pallbearers were Willie and Louie Lamendola, Michael Perdue, Jim Perrodin, Michael Dick and Clay Cranfield. Honorary pallbearers were Brice and Wesley Cranfield. She was a longtime member of Al-Anon and the AARP. She enjoyed crafts and her plants and loved caring for animals and feeding birds.

Lane, Larry E.
He died at his home Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004. He was 53 years old. He is survived by a son, Jason Edward Lane; a brother, Mike Lane; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy Ann and Weedy Wederstrandt; and a nephew, Travis Wederstrandt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theadore and Julia Mae Lane; a brother, Mark Elden Lane; and a sister, Barbara Lane Goff.

Malain, Robin Temple
She died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at 4:15 p.m. She was the beloved wife of Timothy Malain, mother of Ryan and Amanda Malain, grandmother of Austin "Mojo" Malain, daughter of Thomas Temple and Dulcie Martin Durand, sister of the late Reneé Temple Hays, and daughter-in-law of Eva Malain and the late Louis Malain Sr. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was 43, a native of Jefferson , former resident of LaPlace and resident of St. Amant for the past nine years.

NICKENS, JEANNETTE LEBLANC
A homemaker and resident of Gonzales, she died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, in Baton Rouge. She was 67 and a native of Lutcher. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, until funeral service at 8 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Roger Mosher and the Rev. Matt Turner. Cremation will follow service. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Nickens Sr.; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Charles Blouin, Sandra and Eddie Sheppard, Rhonda and Fred Coppenbarger, Donna and Jerry Lambert, Kathy and Jason Lear, Jacklyn and Timothy Stevens and Chantel and Donald Yates; a son, Johnny Nickens Jr.; two sisters, four brothers, 27 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Emily LeBlanc ; a son, Acklyn Clement Nickens; two sisters, a brother and grandson, Jerry Joseph Lambert Jr. She was a member of New River United Methodist Church, St. Amant.

MARTIN, JOSEPH
Joseph Martin, lovingly known as "Daddy," "Paw-Paw," "Uncle Joe," "Brother," "Blackie" and "Socks," died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004, at 5 a.m. He was 84, a resident of Greenwell Springs and a native of Donaldsonville. He was a member of Milldale Baptist Church in Zachary. He was a carpenter, a hair stylist, a retired salesman, and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. His service unit was the 548th Bomb Squadron/385th Bomb Group, which served in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge, the World War II Victory Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Medal with a Silver Service Star and a Bronze Service Star American Campaign Medal. He is survived by his wife, Betty James Martin; a daughter, Carlene Martin Scrantz; stepdaughter, Darlene Adams Lynn, Birmingham, Ala.; niece, (who he raised as a daughter) Sheila Holland and husband, Monte Holland, Zachary; sister, Elizabeth Martin Hartzog, Denham Springs; niece, (Joe Martin was like a father to her) Robin Hartzog, Denham Springs; grandchildren, Joseph and Tiffany Phillips, Chris Adams, Madison Scrantz, all of Greenwell Springs; Shereé and Justin Lynn, Birmingham; and Ransom, Jessica and Jordan Holland, all of Zachary; great-grandchildren, Cassie Lane and Camryn Phillips, both of Clinton; two loving sisters-in-law, Allie Morgan Wilson and Nancy Morgan; great-granddaughter, Bethany Lynn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Carbo Martin; brothers, Ernest Jr. and Nelson Ray; and sisters, Claire Diez, Agnes Armstrong, Lydia Babin and Marjorie Martin. Visiting at Milldale Baptist Church from 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Robertson. interment in church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Phillips, Ransom Holland, Chris Adams, Jordan Holland, Justin Lynn and Monte Holland.

WAGUESPACK, RONALD DENIS "RON"
A maintenance technician with Shell Chemical Co., Geismar, he died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in Gonzales. He was 53, a resident of St. Amant and a native of Norco. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. interment in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Amant,. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Schilling Waguespack; father and mother, Edmond "Buddy" and Olga Ory Waguespack; two daughters, Dominique and Andrea Waguespack; three stepsons, Benjy Dedon, Brent and wife April Dedon, and Kenny Dedon; sister and brother-in-law, Dee "Odelia" and Bruce Simoneaux; and a grandchild, Caitlin Dedon. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Melanie Schilling. He was safety officer of the Baton Rouge Harley-Davidson Chapter and treasurer of the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign.

WARD SR., NATHAN "BILLY"
A retired laborer with Churchill-Thibaut, he died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. He was 63, a native of Jeanerette and a resident of Donaldsonville. Burial in Virginia Baptist Church Cemetery, Ewellville. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn R. Ward of Donaldsonville; five daughters, Mable Parker of Belle Rose, Stephanie Jones of Franklin, and Carolyn Mills, Allison Ward and Valerie Bennette, all of Donaldsonville; three sons, Nathan Ward Jr. of Belle Rose, Russell Ward of Prairieville and Warren Ward of Donaldsonville; three stepdaughters, Charmaine Johnson and Alessie Jackson , both of Gonzales, and Tremaine Jackson of Donaldsonville; three stepsons, David and Clarence Jackson III, both of Gonzales, and Rafeal Jackson of Donaldsonville; an adopted son, Tyrone Ward of Donaldsonville; two sisters, Thelma Logerman and Juanita Watts; two brothers, Wilbert and Ralph Ward Jr.; 28 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Young, Curtis Raymond "Hoss"
Retired from Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel and a resident of Gonzales, he died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at his residence. He was 73 and a native of Duplessis. interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. He is survived by his mother, Felma Young; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Daphyne Young; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Young-Gaines; a sister, Helen Lacobee; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Josie Young; three grandchildren, Tessie and husband, Jacob Schuster, Ronnie Dunkin and Candy Young; and three great-grandchildren, Saige and Kye Schuster and Shylah Dunkin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Young; a son, Raymond Young; and father, Alicide Young.

BOURG, MARGIE NORTON
A resident of Baton Rouge, she died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at her home. She was 74 and a native of Prairieville. interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband, Clarence S. Bourg Jr.; two daughters, Kim Bourg Ryan and husband Craig A. Ryan, Lafayette, and Lynette Kay Bourg, Denham Springs; sister, Ottie Seguin, Gulfport, Miss.; three brothers, Otto Norton, Port Allen, Torris Norton, Baker, and Henry Norton, Greenwell Springs; grandchildren, Rachael, Brandi and Jason Ryan and Clay Bourg; and a great-grandchild, Halleigh Ryan. Preceded in death by her parents, Carl William and Virginia Dixon Norton; two sisters, Hazel Selser and Violet N. McFarland; and brother, Hansen Ficklin.
