A retired welder and member of Boilermakers Local in Kansas City, Kan., he died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, in Gonzales. He was 75, a resident of Gonzales and a native of Leon County, Fla. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Charles Coleman. Eulogy will be delivered by Floyd "Man" Roberts. interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. Survived by his wife, Juanita A. Aultman Roberts, Gonzales; five daughters, Linda J. Coleman, Tallahassee, Fla., Cathy B. Crosley, Saginaw, Mich., Anita Riddle, Walker, Brenda Wallace, McNeil, Miss., and Rebecca Williams, Gonzales; four sons, William L. "Buddy" Roberts and William A. "Sonny" Roberts Jr., both of Tallahassee, Fla., Larry W. Roberts, Baltimore, and Gary Harvey, Grainville; a nephew, Floyd "Man" Roberts, Wakula, Fla.; and 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Alvie Roberts; a son, Ernest Harvey; a daughter, Joyce Yawn; and two brothers and three sisters. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.

ROUSSEAU, NANCY ANN LANOUX
A retired saleswoman and a resident of St. Amant, she died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Gonzales. She was 48 and a native of Baton Rouge. interment in Holy Rosary Catholic Church cemetery. Survived by her father and mother, George and Romona Lambert Lanoux, Head of Island; a daughter and son-in-law, Chasity and Chris Scherer, St. Amant; two stepchildren, Rodney Rousseau and Lisa Jacobs, both of St. Amant; a special friend, Jim Lanoux, Gonzales; two sisters, Vanessa Magette, Baton Rouge, and Wanita LeBlanc , Gonzales; a brother, William "Bill" Lanoux, Gonzales; and two grandchildren, Cody and Christen Scherer; and seven stepgrandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Dale Rousseau.

SINGLETON, ONEAL "PLUT"
A brick layer and resident of Atlanta, he died at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, at his daughter's home in Atlanta. He was 67, a native of Belle Alliance and a former longtime resident of Donaldsonville. interment in Protestant Cemetery. He is survived by 11 daughters, Vera Richardson, Desral Patton, Debra Jackson , Barbara Whittington, Tammy Gibson, Charlotte Jackson , Deon Walker, Shannon James, Kenisha Farlough, Gabriel and Dianna Singleton; seven sons, O'Neal Mills and Bruce, Elston, Charles, Kenneth, Kevin and Steven Singleton; a sister, Dorothy Gross; two brothers, Ben and Wilson Singleton; 36 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgeaner Jones; a sister, Velma Alonzo; and father, Ben Singleton.

WILSON, BESSIE SMITH
Bessie Smith Wilson was born on Nov. 23, 1935, to the parentage of Anna Brady and Isaac Smith of Sorrento. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Baton Rouge. Bessie Smith Wilson was baptized at Jeremiah Baptist Church and later joined the Christian Assembly, where she served in the choir. She was a teacher's aide with Ascension Parish school system for 25 years. Bessie Smith Wilson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her husband of 46 years, James Wilson Jr.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Herbert Foster, Carolyn and Gregory Brown and Wanda and Darryl Coleman, all of Sorrento, and Stephanie and John Heatly, Baton Rouge; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Andrea Wilson and James III and Janice Wilson, all of Sorrento. She has 15 grandchildren and one expected; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Theresa Kelson and Augustine Wilson; three brothers, James, Henry and John Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Cloyd L. Wilson.

BENNETT, ARCHIE RANDOLPH
A resident of Baton Rouge, he died Thursday, July 10, 2003, in Baton Rouge. He was 36 and a former resident of Bogalusa. He is survived by four daughters, Heather Bennett, Thomas, and Brittany Bennett, Amber Bennett and April Bennett, all of Mount Dora, Fla.; parents, Fred and Lillian Bennett, Bogalusa; three sisters, Ramona Augustine and husband Danny of Bogalusa, Rebecca Robert and husband Lynn of Gonzales and Regina Folse and husband Jeff of Baton Rouge; a brother, Fred Bennett Jr. and wife Stephanie of Gonzales; four nieces, four nephews, a great-niece and two great-nephews. interment in Ponemah Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jesse Terrell, Rusty Pritchard, Randy Pritchard, Reed Pritchard, David Roussell and Bradley Folse.

DELMORE, ETHEL MARGARET "AUNT SISTER"
A homemaker and a resident of Gonzales, she died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. She was 85 and a native of Acy. interment in St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery. She leaves to cherish her loving memory a devoted daughter, Dorothy "Peanut" Hall; three granddaughters, Penny and husband Leonard Jones, Kim Delmore of Gonzales, and Isis and husband Derrick McCullough of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three grandsons, Greg Delmore and wife Latrice Smith, Marvin and wife Inez Delmore, and Steven Hall and wife Sharmel Lewis, all of Gonzales; three sisters, Emma Delmore, Pearl Nabor and Ruth Delmore, all of Gonzales; three brothers, Freddie Delmore and John Delmore, both of Gonzales, and Lannis Delmore, Austin, Texas ; seven great-grandchildren, Bianca and Xavier Delmore, LaDerrias, Dexter and LeColby Brown, Kifton Lewis and Kelsie Jones; two sisters-in-law, Mary and Dorothy Delmore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Sr. and Lucille Delmore; three sisters, Ernestine Douglas, Abby Bell and Connie Melancon; and three brothers, Lester, Wilbert and Lemos Delmore. She will forever be remembered for her big smile and loving heart. She embraced all who knew her with kindness and love.

ELPHAGE, MARGARET RODRIGUE
A homemaker, she died Monday, July 7, 2003, at Prevost Memorial Hospital, Donaldsonville. She was 83, a native of Klotzville and a resident of Belle Rose. interment in St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery, Klotzville. Survived by a son, James Elphage of Belle Rose; a sister, Dahlia R. Pleasant of Donaldsonville; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Elphage Jr.; parents, Viola and Matthew Rodrigue; two sons, Joseph III and Matthew Elphage; a brother, Manuel Rodrigue; a grandson and a granddaughter.

GIERON, JACOB "JAKE"
A lieutenant with the Baton Rouge Police Department, he died Tuesday, July 8, 2003. He was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Chicago. interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Grosse Tete. Survived by his wife of 10 years, Paula Honore; children, Earl Gieron and Benjamin Gieron of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Sally Gieron of Santa Ana, Calif.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Partyka, and Joan and Joseph Etzkorn, all of Illinois; mother-in-law, Agnes Honore; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Frank Cordova, Austin, Texas , Peggy Collins, Baton Rouge, Penny and Mark Trepagnier, Prairieville, Phillip and Claudette Honore, Port Allen, and Patricia Honore, North Carolina; 19 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Irene Gieron; and father-in-law, Joseph Honore. Pallbearers were family members and friends. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

GRAHAM, TINA B. MOORE
A resident of Auburn, Wash., she died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Community Hospital, Burien, Wash. She was 72 and a native of Galvez. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survived by her husband of 25 years, A. Lee Graham, Auburn; seven children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Elsie and Jim Nickens; two brothers and their wives, E.J. and Shirley Moore and Charles and Melva Moore, all of Galvez. Preceded in death by her parents, E.J. Sr. and Mae Threeton Moore. She will be missed by all of her family.

GUZZARDO, INA MARIE CAUSEY
"I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. Owner and president of AAA Temporaries Inc., she died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at her residence in Baton Rouge after a lengthy illness. She was 75 and a native of Amite. Entombment in Colonial Mausoleum, Independence. Survived by her husband of 56 years, Tony Joseph Guzzardo of Baton Rouge, and a native of Independence; three daughters, Carol Ann Guzzardo, Denham Springs, Sandra Guzzardo Ganel and husband Law David Ganel, Donaldsonville, and Lisa Guzzardo East, Denham Springs; two sons, Alex "Petey" Guzzardo, Zachary, and Christopher Guzzardo, Baton Rouge; a sister, Amy Causey Trupiano, Denham Springs; two special friends, Taryn "Cissy" Gremillion and Kitty Hofacre; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A special thanks to Althea Neptune and the nurses and staff at St. Joseph Hospice. Preceded in death by her mother, Eunice Kennedy Husser; father, Alex Messina; a son, Joseph T. "Tommy" Guzzardo; and a granddaughter, Janelle Marie Box. Pallbearers were grandsons, Kenny Guzzardo, Jeremy Guzzardo, Jason Box, Mark Guzzardo, Brett East Jr. and Ben Guzzardo. Honorary pallbearers were Jared Guzzardo and Andrew Guzzardo. She was a 1946 salutatorian graduate with honors of Independence High School and a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church.

HAMMACK, REVIS T. "HAM BONE"
A retired lieutenant with the detective division of the Baton Rouge Police Department, he died Wednesday, July 9, 2003. He was 76, a resident of Gonzales and a native of Franklin County, Miss. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, honorably discharged in 1947. interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Helen Hammack; granddaughters and their spouses, Troy and Wayne Blank, Jacque and Shannon LeJeune, Melissa and Clyde Waguespack and Brandyn and Denny Palmer; a son, Jerry Steele and wife Jane; a sister, Claudia Shoumaker; a brother, the Rev. Robert J. Hammack; seven great-grandchildren, Kyle Blank, Sarah Blank, Abbey Lejeune, Dillon Lejeune, Gordon Waguespack, Anna Palmer and Sophia Palmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Luther E. and Ota Hammack; and two sisters, Ruth Hammack Barcelona and L.E. Hammack Coghlin.

LEBLANC, ANNIE CARRIE DOYLE
She went to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:01 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2003. She was 84, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Gonzales. She was a wife and homemaker. interment in Hope Haven Cemetery. Survived by four children and their spouses, Patricia L. and Donald McRae, Robert P. and Marie LeBlanc , Edward J. and Veronica LeBlanc , and Linda L. and O'Neal Anderson; a brother, John Doyle Sr.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Gladney Paul LeBlanc ; mother and father, Thomas and Louise Shanahan Doyle; three sisters, Ethel Bourgeois, Louise Moran and Margaret Juno; a brother, Capt. Thomas Doyle; and a granddaughter, Tammy Marie LeBlanc .

MAYERS, JULIETTE BABIN
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, she died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2003, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. She was 94 and a lifelong resident of Gonzales. interment in St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church Cemetery. Survived by four daughters, Evelyn "Totsy" Lambert, St. Amant, Ruth Duplessis, Gonzales, Rita Melancon, Prairieville, and Hazel Melancon, Gonzales; a son, Kevelyn "K.P." Babin; a son-in-law, V.J. Bourgeois; a daughter-in-law, Delores Babin; three stepdaughters and two stepsons-in-law, JoAnn Gautreau, Carolyn and Larry Dominique and Judy and Johnny Johnson ; three stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Andrew and Karen Mayers, Wickliff Jr. and Cathy Mayers and Glenn and Linda Mayers; 34 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren and 36 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her first husband, Leus Babin; second husband, Wickliff J. Mayers Sr.; parents, Felix and Lucille Elisar Young; a daughter, Elma "Shy" Bourgeois; a son, Robert "Boo" Babin; a daughter-in-law, Lorita Babin; four sons-in-law, John B. Lambert, John E. "Buddy" Duplessis, James "Jimmy" Melancon and James "Terry" Melancon; 10 sisters and brothers; a grandson, Leon Lambert Jr.; and three great-grandsons, Clint J. Duplessis, Chase Laiche and Carlos Juneau. Pallbearers were Bret Babin, Brad Melancon, Jason Duplessis, Mike Lambert, Kenny Babin and Jeffery Bourgeois. Honorary pallbearers were Vernon Duplessis and her remaining grandsons. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society.

MELANCON, JR. PERCY JOSEPH "HONEY"
A retired pipe fitter and a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 198, he died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2003, in Maurepas. He was 63, a resident of Maurepas and a native of Gonzales. He was a veteran of the Louisiana National Guard. interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. Survived by his wife, Judith Gail Melancon, Maurepas; children and four spouses, Belinda Melancon Eliser and Kevin "Nobby" Eliser, St. Amant, Deno and Joyce Melancon, and Duane and Denise Melancon, all of Gonzales, Suzette Johnson , Maurepas, and Thomas and Dawn Johnson , Denham Springs; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bobbie and Roy Stein, Convent, and Agnes Melancon Templet, St. Amant; mother-in-law, Jackie Shotwell, Sulphur; eight grandchildren, Tiffany, Regan, Devon, Morgan, Kendal and Kaci Melancon, and Cody and Kenzie Eliser; and a great-grandchild, Maison Melancon. Preceded in death by his parents, Percy Joseph Sr. and Virginia Chauvin Melancon. Pallbearers were Todd Poche, Bobby Webre, Darin "Tip" Templet, Charles Moreau, Michael Vincent and Duane Zito. A special thank you to the Baton Rouge Clinic, Dr. McCarthy and Sherry. Honey will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Burial in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. Survived by her husband of 62 years, W.T. Roberson of Gonzales; sons and daughters-in-law, William Richard "Dickie" Roberson, James "Daniel" and Juliana Roberson, Duncan Raymond Roberson Sr., and Dale Wayne and Cheryl Roberson; daughters and sons-in-law, Regina "Diane" and Harris Hathaway, and Debra Rebecca and Dr. Richard Campbell; grandchildren, Dalton Jr., Eli, Tammy and Tina, Donald, David and Danielle, Christi, Amy, Raymond and Rachel, J.D., Emmylou and Becca, Crystal and Duncan II, Charley, Presley and Lacey; and numerous great-grandchildren, close relatives and friends.
