VILLAR, CLAIRE GORE-TUCKER "RAE"
A resident of Gonzales, she died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, in Baton Rouge. She was 86 and a native of Lake Survived by a daughter-in-law, Annette Tucker; a son, Frederick "Boo" Tucker Jr.; a stepson, Paul Villar; a sister, Alice Dunn; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two husbands, Frederick Tucker Sr. and Tony Villar; a son, Robert Tucker Sr.; and five brothers and a sister. Her wish was to have her body donated to science.

WINDING, OLIVIA BREAUX
A native and resident of Donaldsonville, she died at 8:10 a.m. Friday, July 4, 2003, at Prevost Hospital, Donaldsonville. She was 84. interment in Protestant Cemetery, Donaldsonville. Survived by a sister, Ophelia Breaux Williams of Donaldsonville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Breaux and Martha Thomas Breaux; her husband; and a sister, Fannie Harvey.

BERTHELOT, ALONCE A.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he left this world to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 19, 2004. He was 84, born May 4, 1920, in Maurepas, and was a resident of Baton Rouge for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjie Crane Berthelot; two sisters, Loney Guitreau of Maurepas and Relia Picou of Ponchatoula; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara and Michael Underwood of Baton Rouge, Monica Berthelot of Biloxi, Miss., and Christina and Greg Peck of Baton Rouge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Susan Berthelot of Oscar and Stefan and Brandi Berthelot of Watson; nine grandchildren, Chip Glass, Jennifer Falcon, Ben Glass, Claire, Emily, Kenda and London Berthelot and Lauren and Christopher Peck; a great-grandchild, Christina Glass; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Octave and Mathilde Sanchez Berthelot; a son, Christopher Ray Berthelot; four brothers, Arthur, Roy, Quave and Dennis Berthelot; and four sisters, Mattie Fontenot, Octavie Picou, Elvina Chatelain and Florella Welch. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Maurepas, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Rubin Reynolds. Burial in Whitehall Community Cemetery. Berthelot was a decorated veteran of World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and four battle stars. He was a member of the 79th Infantry Division 45 and participated in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of American Legion Post 254 and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an operating engineer and was employed at Kaiser Aluminum Corp. in Baton Rouge for 35 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Mr. Berthelot was a member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9247. He loved hunting, fishing, attending LSU sporting events and Cajun dancing.

COCKRELL, KENNETH RAYMOND
A retired tankerman with CGI, a resident of St. Amant and a native of Water Valley, Miss., he Passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans. He was 67 and a U.S. Army veteran. interment in Richardson Cemetery, St. Amant. Survived by his wife, Patricia Cockrell of St. Amant; and two brothers, Edward T. Cockrell of Pope, Miss., and Gerald Cockrell of Memphis, Tenn. Preceded in death by his father, Horace Cockrell; and mother, Beatrice Womble Cockrell.

DORSEY SR., ROYAL
A retired farm worker, he died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, in Kenner. He was 83, a native of Napoleonville and a resident of Dorseyville. Burial in Beautiful Zion AME Church Cemetery. Survived by his four sons and three daughters-in-law, Frank and Mary, Royal Jr. and Margaret, Wilson and Horace and Evelyn Dorsey; a daughter, Rebecca and husband Alvin Williams; a sister, Rowena Lang; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Dorsey; his parents, Willie and Josephine Dorsey; grandparents; four brothers, Sam, Freddie, Willie and Wallace Dorsey; and five sisters, Alma Ward, Mabel Cyprian, Dorothy Dorsey, Ella B. Alexander and Josephine Buggage.

DRUMMOND SR., JAMES
A retired longshoreman for the New Orleans Steamship Association and a resident of Geismar, he died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004, at his home. He was 91 and a native of Cuba, Ala. interment in Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery, Geismar. Survived by wife, Vera Drummond; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James Jr. and Leatrice Drummond and Gaylord Drummond; two granddaughters, Latedra and Kerya Drummond; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, a sister and two brothers. He was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, Geismar.

GUNDERSON, TORY HAROLD
He died in peace surrounded by the love of his family and friends on Monday, June 14, 2004, after battling with cancer. He was a 42 and enjoyed life with great zest and was an avid fan of LSU. Helping others was his forté. He was a resident of Prairieville and a native of Baton Rouge. interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his daughter, Treasure Parker; fiancee, Heidi Parker Mathews, and her children, Travis Parker, Trey Mathews, Tricia Mathews, True Mathews and Trace Mathews, all of Baton Rouge; father and stepmother, Dr. Victor "Tory" Gunderson and Wanda Gunderson, Lafayette; mother and stepfather, Virginia Smith Bruce and James "Jim" Bruce, Baton Rouge; two sisters, Trina Bruce Warren, Baton Rouge, and Treasure Bruce, Portland, Ore.; a brother, Scott Gunderson, Plainsboro, N.J.; grandmothers, Dixie Forbes, Baton Rouge, and Mae Gunderson, Lafayette; an aunt, Magistrate Judge Christine Noland; and an uncle, Lance Gunderson, San Antonio. Preceded in death by his grandfathers, Sammie Lee Forbes and Victor Harold Gunderson Sr., who were of Baton Rouge.

HARRIS, YVONNE MARIE SCHEXNAYDER "BIT"
A homemaker and a resident of Donaldsonville, she died at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Chateau Living Center in Kenner. She was 74 and a native of New Orleans. interment in St. James Catholic Church Cemetery. Survived by three daughters, Terry Harris Mitchell and Alfreda Harris Ruffin, both of Reserve, and Yvonne C. Harris of Donaldsonville; stepdaughter, Yvonne Cecile Schexnayder Hooks of New Orleans; four sons, Brandon M. Harris Sr. and Edward T. Harris Sr., both of Donaldsonville, Oliver Harris Jr. of White Castle and Ernest P. Harris of Baton Rouge; a sister, Gloria Schexnayder of New Orleans; four brothers, Louis Schexnayder Sr. and Emile Schexnayder, both of St. James, Clarence Schexnayder of Houston and Jules Schexnayder of Escondido, Calif.; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Harris Sr.; mother, Yvonne B. Schexnayder; father, Lee Burken Schexnayder; son, Ronald David Harris; two brothers, Alphonse and Burken Joseph Schexnayder; and a sister, Odelia S. Brooks. She loved to crochet.

HOHENSEE SR., JAMES
A retired master machinist and a resident of Denham Springs, he died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 83 and a native of Donaldsonville. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. interment in Ascension Catholic Cemetery. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and George Boatman, St. Amant, Lana and Ronnie Chandler, Denham Springs, and Trudy Coupel, Napoleonville; a son and daughter-in-law, James Jr. and Ann Hohensee, Denham Springs; a brother, Carroll Hohensee, Walker; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wives, Ella Mae Bergeron and Elma Rita Thibodeaux; four sisters and two brothers. Pallbearers will be close friends and relatives. He was a member of the VFW Post 7266 of Donaldsonville.

LEMON, BRAD
A security guard for Fortified Security at Square Deal in St. James, he died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, in Donaldsonville. He was 29 and a resident and native of Donaldsonville. Burial in Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery, Plattenville. Survived by his father, John Cole; foster parents, Manuel and Eva Mae Rodrigue; maternal grandparents, Hazel and Willie Lemon Sr.; five sisters, Marilyn Davis, Melanie and Andrea Lemon, Marion Moonkissoon and Marie Cole; three brothers, Lloyd Lemon and Kenneth and Stanley Rodrigue; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Lemon; and grandmother, Hilda Lemon.

MORAN, DEWEY JOSEPH "BY JUNE"
A retired electrician with 50 years of service and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 995, he died at 1:34 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, in Gonzales. He was 73, a resident of Gonzales and a native of Lake Martin. interment in Lake Cemetery, St. Amant. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hattie Bourgeois Moran, Gonzales; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and Ronald Williams and Sheron and Dawson Fontenot, all of Gonzales; four sons and four daughters-in-law, Jimmie and Carol Moran, Earl and Pam Moran, Danny and Pam Moran and Glen and Anita Moran, all of Gonzales; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rosa Mae Alleman, Lake Martin, and Winnie and Roy "Coky" Blank Sr., Gramercy; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Dewey and Rosa Keller Moran; two brothers, Wilferd Moran and Wilmon "Boy Boy" Moran; and a brother-in-law, Maurice "Blackie" Alleman. Pallbearers were his grandsons. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales.

MUSCO, ROSA ZITO
A homemaker and a resident of Thibodaux, she died at 12:52 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. She was 88 and a native of Bayou Goula. interment in Ascension Catholic Church Cemetery, Donaldsonville. Survived by a daughter, JoAnn Scioneaux of Vacherie; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Nickie Musco and Frances of Texas , Terry Musco and Chris of Belgium and Paul Davis of Donaldsonville; two brothers, Joe Zito Jr. of California and Johnny Zito of Plaquemine; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Musco; parents, Joe and Lena Zito; two sisters, Rita Zito and Katie Musco; and two brothers, Ross and Anthony Zito.

PIERCE-POOR, GWEN
A homemaker and a resident of Gonzales, she died at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004, in Baton Rouge. She was 48 and a native of Baton Rouge. Survived by her mother, Myrna S. Ricaud; two daughters, Kacey Chaney of Baton Rouge and Stefany Pierce of Gonzales; son-in-law, Joey Chaney; three brothers, Stephen Munzey, Patrick R. Munzey and Rick Munzey; and a grandchild, Brooks Breaux. Preceded in death by her father, Gordon Munzey. She loved to nurture people and was a beautiful person inside and out.

RAMEZANLOO, CHRISTY NICOLE BAKER
A resident of Denham Springs, she died at 10:10 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She was 34. interment in St. Williams Catholic Church Cemetery, Port Vincent. Survived by her husband, Ali Ramezanloo of Denham Springs; father, Donald Louis Baker; mother, Cynthia Baker; sons, Cameron Cole and Benjamin Louis Ramezanloo; brothers, Heath Baker and wife Lisa of Denham Springs and Alex Baker and Jason Baker, both of Port Vincent; grandfather, Donald Myers and wife Laura; an aunt, Terri May; nephews, Ethan and Caleb Baker; and a niece, Makenzie Baker. Preceded in death by her grandmother, Patsy Myers; and great-grandmothers, Myrtle Shingleur and Era Mae McMillan. Pallbearers were Heath Baker, Jason Baker, Alex Baker, Jonathan Mouch, Robert Gunter and Kevin Desselle. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Habibi, Richmond Rushing, Donald Harris, Brian Gonzales, Ethan Baker and Gilbert Matherne.

RODDY, SIDNEY "DUDLEY"
Retired and a member of Carpenter's Local 1098, he died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2004, in Baton Rouge. He was 59 and a resident and native of Galvez. Entombment in St. Joseph Catholic Church Mausoleum, Gramercy. Survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Reneé and CJ LaBauve, Prairieville, Stacie and Troy Richardson, St. Amant, and Jeremy and Sydney Edmonston, Prairieville; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Blake LaBauve; an expected grandchild, Kylee Richardson; a loving friend, Joyce Alito, and her family; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Julia Roddy, Prairieville, and Roy and Betty Roddy, French Settlement; a sister-in-law, Ida Roddy, Walker; and four sisters, Lucille Cedatol, Baton Rouge, Bert Roddy, Gonzales, Martha Cleveland, Baton Rouge, and Regina Gore, Texas . Preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ida Cambre Roddy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard "Brick" and Pat Roddy, Mitchell and Dianne Roddy, Henry "Buckshot" and Melba Roddy and John T. Roddy; a half-brother, Jessie and wife Lillie Roddy; a half-sister, Winnie Coats; and three brothers-in-law, Gerald Sanchez, Albert Gore and Ted Cedatol. He loved to cook.
