BARBAY, FRANK A.
A retired employee at Exxon Chemicals plant in Baton Rouge and a resident of Holiday Island, Ark., he died at 1:04 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 1999, at Eureka Springs Hospital, Eureka Springs, Ark. He was 62 and a native of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Visiting at Niland's Funeral Home, Livonia, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandra Boulden Barbay; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheryl and Kenneth Clark, Maringouin, and Roxanne and Mark Loreno, Livonia; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank Allen Barbay Jr. and Dana Barbay, Maringouin; three sisters, Delores Fourrier, Shirley Graham and Ellen Decote; two brothers, August Barbay III and Kenneth Barbay; and eight grandchildren, Joshua, Abram and Madalynn Barbay, Christine and Catherine Clark and Jimmy, Lindsey and Andrew Loreno. He was preceded in death by his parents, August Jr. and Noelie Barbay. He was a graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge and a member of the alumni association. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Eureka Springs.

BRAUD, MARVIN J.
A resident and native of Gonzales, he died at 4:15 a.m. Monday, April 19, 1999, at his home. He was 85. He was a retired barber with 42 years of service and an Ascension Parish councilman with 20 years of service. Visitation at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, noon until Mass of Christian Burial at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, officiated by the Rev. Phil Spano. interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Winnie F. Braud, Gonzales; a daughter, Gertie B. Millet, Gonzales; three sisters, Margie Templet and Audrey Gauthreau, both of Gonzales, and Erlene Duplessis, St. Amant; a brother, Wavell Braud, Gonzales; three grandchildren, Kay, Patrick and Steve Millet; a great-grandchild, Hannah Millet; and a special friend, Elarose Berthelot, Gonzales. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph and Eliska Savoy Braud; stepmother, Mary Laiche Braud; three brothers, Clarence Braud, Windom Braud and Emanuel Braud; and two sisters, Vernell Gaudin and Jeanel Bell. Pallbearers will be Steve Millet, Jimmy Millet, Patrick Millet, Wavell Braud, Jesse Laiche and Shai Stafford. Honorary pallbearers are J.O. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday, celebrated by the Rev. Matt Dupre. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. Survived by two daughters, Lisa J. Cefalu and Melanie L. Cefalu; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Chris Lee Cefalu and Joseph E. and JaNiece Cefalu; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. S.J. and Rose Cefalu; and three grandchildren, Siya E. Creel, Sara E. Cefalu and Joey L. Cefalu. Preceded in death by parents, Guiseppe S. and Sara Pappara Cefalu. Pallbearers will be Luke Elliott, Sal Genusa, Keith Richard, Siya Creel, Joseph Cefalu and Chris Cefalu. She was 67, a native and resident of Carville. Visiting at Hambrick's Family Mortuary, Gonzales, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Church, St. Gabriel, 6 p.m. until religious services at 8 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by Elder Eugene Harris. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, St. Gabriel, at 11 a.m. Thursday, celebrated by the Rev. Reuben. interment in Mount Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Carville. Survived by three daughters, Mary Ann Almonte Crespo, Joyce C. Young and Deidra C. Reddix; a son, Isaac Clark, Baton Rouge; a sister, Daisy M. Clark, Carville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; an uncle, the Rev. Alex Marks Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Theodora B. Clark, Baton Rouge; two sons-in-law, Perry Young Jr. and Mason Reddix III, both of Carville; a sister-in-law, Diane Jackson , Baton Rouge; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives including Angelle Alfred, whom she admired as a daughter; and three granddaughters whom she raised, Michelle Clark, India Reddix and La'Keia Gollop; a devoted friend, Hazel Schexnayder; and a beloved cousin, pastor Edith Howard. Preceded in death by parents, Isaac and Julia Marks Clark; her children's father, Joseph Fleming; a sister, a brother, four children and a grandson. She was a volunteer for Food for Seniors in east Iberville Parish and a member of the board of directors of St. Gabriel Health Clinic.

CROOM, EDITH MAE
A homemaker and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 78 and a native of Oakdale. Visiting at Desselle Funeral Home, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting at Israelite Baptist Church, 5 p.m. until religious services at 8 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Charles L. Burris. Dismissal at noon Thursday. interment in Gilbert Memorial Park. She is survived by two daughters, Ollie Mae West Burks and Ophelia West Armstrong; four sons, Lawrence C. West Sr., Louis West, Benson Croom and Dennis Croom Jr.; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Croom Sr.; and a son, Ivory West Sr. Pallbearers will be Lawrence West Jr., Troy D. Burks, Cedric Miller Sr., Patrick Armstrong, Keith Armstrong and Kendell Scott. Honorary pallbearers are Lawrence West Sr., Louis West, Benson Croom and Dennis Croom.

CROW, JEANETTE M.
A retired employee of Louisiana Mineral Board and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, 1999, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 79 and a native of Little Rock, Ark. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel, 9595 Florida Blvd., 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Gary Rayburn. Graveside services at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pineville, at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert B. “Bobby” and Bonnie Crow and Stephen M. and Susan Crow; four grandchildren, Tracye Watson, Robert B. Crow Jr., Jennifer Crow and Stephanie Crow; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, A.L. “Blackie” Crow Jr.; and a brother, Gerald R. Martin. She was a member of the Desk and Derrick Club.

DREHER, MICHAEL A.
Beloved husband and father, Michael A. Dreher, and an employee of Entergy/Gulf States Utilities, he died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 1999, at his residence in Central. He was 44 and a native of Zachary. Visiting was at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Visiting at First Baptist Church, Zachary, 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m., Tuesday, conducted by Dr. Wayne Barnes. interment in Eastern Star Cemetery, Wilson. Survived by his wife, Judy Core Dreher, Central; father, Donald A. Dreher, Zachary; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Dreher and a son, Christopher Meyers, both of Central; a brother Donald K. Dreher of Zachary; two brothers-in-law, Chic Core and wife Shirley Jo and Bobby Core and fiancee Susan Haney; a sister-in-law, Jackie Core Funkhouser and husband Mike; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray Core and Betty Dees Core; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by mother, Pauline Cochran Dreher. Pallbearers will be Donald Dreher, Cory Dreher, Robert Neal Harvey, William Zima, Lonnie Stewart and Mason Comeaux. He will always be remembered by his co-workers and his neighbors for his good humor, his kindness and his love of sports. Hebert, Atlanta, and Sarah K. Hebert, Prairieville; two sisters, Leslye Hebert, Seattle, and Stacy Smith, Bellingham, Wash.; a brother, Albert Charles Hebert, Plaquemine; and former wife, Cheryl B. Hebert, Prairieville. KANNON, REBECCA LYNN SHARP

KELLY, RICHARD DEAN "PAPP"
A pharmacist and former owner of University Professional Pharmacy for 23 years, he died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, New Orleans. He was 72 and a native of Wolcott, Ind. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, after 6 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting at the funeral home, 9 a.m. until religious services at noon Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Bill McGough. Survived by wife, Fay Trumbach Kelly of Covington; a stepdaughter, Terri Lynn Higdon of Covington; two brothers, Jack Kelly of Blue Springs, Mo., and Robert Kelly of Vancouver, British Columbia; and a grandchild, Kylie M. Bauer. Preceded in death by parents, Ellen Mull Kelly and John Francis Kelly; and a brother, Paul Kelly. He was a graduate of Wolcott High School, Purdue University and LSU. He is survived by his wife, Millie Trepagnier Morrison; six daughters, Ylondia and Tanika Morrison, Rochelle Perry, Antionette Johnson , Angela Larry and Katangaza “Candi” Bailey; two sons, Edward Jr. and Reginald Morrison; three sons-in-law, Floyd Bailey Sr., Gregory Johnson and Theron Larry; two brothers, Benjamin and Isiah Morrison; three goddaughters, Jaki Walker, Antionette Williams and Doris W. Dickerson; and nine grandchildren, Reginald Morrison Jr., Ashlei Morrison, Sundie Martin, Floyd Bailey Jr., Courtney Ellison, Quint'n Perry, Teagra and Aaron Johnson and Bianca Larry. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where he served as past president of the board of trustees and a member of United Methodist Men. He served on the finance committee, nominations and personnel board, and was a former member of the Pastor Parish Relations Board, New Saint John married couples ministry and a devout member of the Adult Sunday School Class.

PASSMAN, DORA MARY PLAUCHÉ
A retired East Baton Rouge Parish school teacher of 35 years and a French tutor and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 12:40 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 1999, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 91 and a native of Plaucheville. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court No. 1608, the Melrose Garden Club and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Altar Society. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 1 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Tuesday, celebrated by the Rev. Michael J. Moroney. interment in Roselawn Memorial Park on North Street in Baton Rouge. She is survived by two sisters, Lovenia Pafford of Texas , and Williamette “Boonie” Hornsby of Baton Rouge; special friends, including Christine Guidry, Elizabeth Hebert and Eulalie Walsh; favorite friends, Debbie Guidry and Helaine Lipscomb; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon J. Plauché and Aminthe Lemoine Plauché; her husband of 56 years, Sherman M. Passman; two sisters, Willie Mae Dear and Lillian Plauché Eckel; four brothers, Lymon, Moore, Gaston and Boyce Plauché; and two brothers-in-law, Sidney Hornsby and Seymour F. Dear.
