She was 86 and a native of Rockford, Ala. Visiting at Hollabaugh-Spindle Funeral Home, 1553 Wooddale Blvd. at Tom Drive, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Religious services at First Baptist Deaf Church, 2538 Brightside Lane, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. D.C. Collins. She is survived by three sons, Hugh and Jeanne Prickett, Honolulu, Bill and Susan Prickett, Baton Rouge, and Jerry and Ruthie Prickett, DeRidder; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Litaker; and two sisters, Kate Stewart and Runette Ivey. She was a graduate of Alabama School for the Deaf.

RUSHMAN, TORENO PEEL
A homemaker and a resident of Springhill since 1979, she Passed away Sunday, April 18, 1999, at Highland Hospital, Shreveport, following a short illness. She was 85, a native of Chipley, Fla., and a former resident of Peoria, Ill. Religious services at Temple Baptist Church, Springhill, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. James Carson officiating. Burial in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill. Survived by a daughter, Flora Rushman, Springhill; three grandchildren, Kristine Johnson and her husband, Fredrick, of Houston, T. Michael James Rushman, Orlando, Fla., and Robert “Rob” Rushman and his wife, Deena, of Peoria; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Johnson ; a sister, Vonceil Gaddis of Laurel, Miss.; and a brother, Marcel Peel of Newberry, S.C. Preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rushman Jr. on Jan. 16, 1977; a son, Frank “Sonny” Rushman III on Jan. 15, 1997; and two brothers, Hugh C. Peel Jr. and Ambrose Peel. Pallbearers will be Tillman Nichols, Bill Turner, Ben Brown, Merlyn Arnold, Ruben Worley and Glen Hanson. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

SHEDD, HERMAN HARDY
A retired pipeline employee of Exxon Co. USA with 39 1/2 years of service and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, April 19, 1999, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 76 and a native of Heidelberg, Miss. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 278th Engineers. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Bob Burgess. interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Shedd; a son, Don Shedd; a sister, Bonnie Mae Suchey; a grandson, Brian Shedd; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a brother, Grover Lee Shedd. He was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 515, F&AM, Heidelberg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association.

STEWART, KENNETH DWAYNE "K.D."
A United Parcel Service driver for 19 years and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, in Baton Rouge as a result of an automobile accident. He was 40 and a native of Baker. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday. Religious services at New Pilgrim Baptist Church, 4415 Old Weis Road, Zachary, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Alvin Green. Dismissal at 11 a.m. Thursday. interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Florence J. Rounds of Baker; a daughter, Summer N. Stewart and a son, Cory N. Stewart, both of Baker; a devoted brother, Ronald D. Netterville and a loving and devoted sister-in-law, Pearl Netterville of Baton Rouge; two aunts and an uncle, Mary and John E. Lawson of Clinton, and Mattie Stewart of Baton Rouge; fiancee, Tanya Angrum and her two sons, Jerome and Jermaine Angrum of Baton Rouge; a niece, Shannon Netterville of Baton Rouge; two nephews, Shawn Netterville of San Antonio, Texas , and Steven Netterville of Baton Rouge; a very loving, caring and devoted godmother, Ethelia O. Robillard of Baton Rouge; three godchildren, Shawn Netterville, San Antonio, Shannon Netterville of Baton Rouge and Nicholas Bassett of Bunkie; a dear friend and fishing partner, William J. Purnell of Baton Rouge; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Claiborne Stewart Jr.; stepfather, Leon W. Rounds; and grandmother, Pearl I. Richardson. He was a member of New Pilgrim Baptist Church. He was a 1976 graduate of Southern University Laboratory School and attended Southern University.

TAYLOR, JAMES GARLAND
A resident and native of Independence, he died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at his home. He was 59. Visiting was at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Visiting at the funeral home, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, celebrated by the Rev. Dean Martin. interment in Colonial Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Rose Ann Mannino Taylor , Independence; two daughters, Karen Taylor Gregory, Independence, and Robin Taylor Abrams, Loranger; four grandchildren, Jimmy Gregory, Jeni Abrams, Kevin Gregory and Taylor Abrams; father, G.C. Taylor , Clanton, Ala.; and a brother, Tommy Taylor . Preceded in death by mother, Josephine Levatino Taylor ; and an infant twin daughter.

A nurse's aide and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 64 and a native of New Orleans. Religious services at True Light Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Hebert. Dismissal at 10 a.m. Friday. interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by husband, Cudgar "Curtis" Selvage; three daughters, Maxine B. Collins, Yulonda B. Shelton and Cathy Haywood; seven stepdaughters, Joyce, Ann Marie, Cynthia, Wanda, Delores and Faye Selvage and Brenda Lee; four sons, Stanley, Curtis, Johnathan and Steven Bienemy; two stepsons, Alton Odom and Jerome Selvage; seven sisters, Mable Bienemy, Susan Major, Gertrude, Celius and Elouise Williams, Anita Hughes and Bernadine Johnson ; five brothers, Arthur Gray, Leroy, Caul, Ulysses and Ronald Williams; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Preceded in death by father and mother, Paul Williams Jr. and Amy Dorsey; and Clovis Bienemy, Curtis Selvage Jr., Estella Bailey and Charles Norman Williams. Winnfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Bazile Sr., Ponchatoula; two daughters, Angelue Bazile, Hammond, and Rochelle Arsement, Lafayette; a son, Michael John Bazile Jr., Metairie; mother, Geneva Dupont Cox, Georgia; two brothers, Raymond Gauthier Jr. and Greg Gauthier, both of Georgia; and four grandchildren, Jordan Bazile, Joshua Stevens, and Justin and Hanna Arsement. Preceded in death by her father, Raymond Gauthier.

Retired and a resident of East Baton Rouge Parish, she died at 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, in East Baton Rouge Parish. She was 80. Survived by two sisters, Ora L. Cain, Baton Rouge, and Irene J. Williams, Prairieville; a daughter-in-law, Martha L. Scott, Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren, Mackie II, Patricia, Samuel and Ken; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Ophelia and Harvey Jackson ; three sisters and four brothers; a daughter, Bernice S. Hopkins; and two sons, Sullivan Scott Jr. and Eddie Beauchamp Jr. Winnfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A former school teacher and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Sterling Place. She was 84 and a native of Jena. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel, 10 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by Dr. Burn Page. interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by her husband of 61 years, Ardee Causey, Baton Rouge; a daughter, Elaine P. Causey, Baton Rouge; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Magnusen Causey, Albuquerque, N.M.; two granddaughters, Debra Causey Richard, Denham Springs, and Esther Ruth Causey, Albuquerque; a great-grandson, Jonathan Andrew Causey, Albuquerque; three sisters, Nadie Elaine Barrett and Enid Celeste Powell and husband Vernon, all of Jena, and Stella Pearl Sapp and husband Robert, Savannah, Ga.; three brothers, John Andrew Barrett and wife Willie Wilson, Jena, William L. Barrett Jr. and wife Betty Morgan, El Dorado, Ark., and David C. Barrett Sr. and wife Elva Suarez, Lafayette; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, William Luther "Buck" and Jane Jackson Barrett; a sister, Janealee Barrett; and a son, Keith Leo Causey. Pallbearers will be Marion E. Causey Jr., Carl Causey, Doug Valentine, Bradley Valentine, James C. Carnell Jr. and James C. Carnell III. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher. She led Bible studies at the Guest House for more than 25 years and was a past president of W.M.U. She was a charter member of Baton Rouge General Medical Center Auxiliary and was the first Girls' Auxiliary director. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church.

TOMLINSON, JEAN YOUNG
A resident of Baton Rouge, she died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Bogalusa and retired from Louisiana Companies in 1988 after 22 years of service. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5990 Perkins Road, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, conducted by pastor Paul Anderson. She is survived by husband, David Tomlinson; a daughter, Sandra Tomlinson Welliver, Rosenburg, Texas ; a son, Mark Tomlinson, San Diego; and three grandchildren, Melissa Tomlinson, Walker, and Lee and Patrick McChesney, both of Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.

DICKINSON, JOEL BENJAMIN
A retired attorney and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at The Retirement Center, Baton Rouge. He was 95 and a native of Oak Grove, West Carroll Parish. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at Cox Funeral Home, Oak Grove, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. Graveside services at City Cemetery, Oak Grove, at 3:15 p.m. Monday. Survived by two daughters, Joyce Ray Dickinson Howell and Joeldean Dickinson Israel; a son, Joel McKenzie Dickinson; seven grandchildren and spouses, Angelo Paul and Becky Eve Howell Morreale, Fred Ernest Howell, Alan Dale Howell, Benjamin Lewis and Judith Watt Israel, Carolyn Sue Israel and Bob Brown, Randy Joyce Israel and Leland Vaughn and Sarah J'nelle Stogner-Dickinson; and a great-grandchild, Alexis Michelle Morreale. Preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Lee Dickinson and Louis Turner Dickinson; and a sister, Betty Lou Dickinson Stewart Holt. He was a former City Court judge in Baton Rouge, a former state assistant attorney general, a former clerk of court for West Carroll Parish and a former justice of the peace for West Carroll Parish. He was a Shriner.

Visiting at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday, celebrated by the Rev. Michael Collins. Entombment in St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum. Survived by her husband of 39 years, John E. Wallin Sr., Baton Rouge; three daughters, Mary Lenore Milla and husband David of Madisonville, Marcella Kathleen Wallin and Eileen Suzanne Wallin, both of Atlanta; two sons, John E. Wallin Jr. and wife Mary of Little Rock, Ark., and James Michael Wallin, Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Gabriel Wallin and Kate Elizabeth Wallin; a sister, Deborah Linn Ursin and husband Terence of New Orleans; and a brother, Dr. James Michael Linn Jr. and wife Jean of New Orleans. Preceded in death by parents, James Michael Linn and Mary Marcella Leach Linn.
