A soft drink bottler for most of his adult life and a retired employee of Parts Associated Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio, he died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999. He was born Feb. 10, 1921, in Amite County, Miss., and was a resident of Baton Rouge for 45 years. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Religious services at Catchings Funeral Home chapel, McComb, Miss., at 10 a.m. Thursday. interment in Hollywood Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ella Berryhill Wilkinson; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas E. and Rebecca Jordan Wilkinson, Sugar Land, Texas ; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail Wilkinson Bass and Sam Bass, Baton Rouge; a granddaughter and two grandsons; a brother, Gordon Ray Wilkinson, Memphis, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin F. and Belle J. Wilkinson; three sisters, Inez W. Shapley, Evelyn W. Payne and Vallie W. Denney; and four brothers, Hoyt B., Lloyd "Bobbie", Benjamin F. Jr. and Norman J. Wilkinson. He was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, Acacia Shrine Temple in Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge Consistory, past president of Baton Rouge Shrine Club, United Commercial Travelers in Baton Rouge and Masonic Blue Lodge in McComb.

HUNT, WILFRED LOUIS "FOO FOO"
A painter and sodium operator, and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died at his home. He was 55. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and received the Purple Heart, parachute badge, National Defense Service Medal. Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Combat Medal and Army Commendation Medal. Religious services at Scott's Bluff Morticians, 8546 Scenic Highway, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Edward Howard. interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by wife, Dianne Patrick Hunt; two daughters, Eleetia Dianne Hunt and Enetta Lashay Hunt; three step-daughters, Sonja Wright, Yolanda Sajna Wright and Tiffanny Wright; a goddaughter, Schuntelle Richardson; a niece, Gladys Jackson ; a stepson, Brian Keith Wright; two sisters, Shirley Catherine Hunt Jackson and Patricia Hunt; two brothers, Ray Elbert Hunt and Theodore Murray; and 19 grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Veola Ross and Joseph E. Hunt; stepmother, Ethel Hunt; a brother Joseph E. Hunt Jr.; and grandmother, Gladis Ross. He was valedictorian of his McKinley High School graduating class. He attended Grambling State University for two years and Southern University for one year.

KLEINPETER, GLADYS AGNES GREMILLION
A resident of Ruston, she died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, in Ruston after a lengthy illness. She was 80. Religious services were at Kilpatrick Funeral Home chapel, Ruston, at 2 p.m. Sunday, officiated by the Rev. Floyd Pate. Graveside services at Greenlawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lafayette, at 11 a.m. Monday. Survived by a son, Sidney H. Kleinpeter, Hawley, Texas ; two daughters, Sandra Bowen, Hawley, and Claudia Warlick, Bernice; two grandchildren, Elicia Bowman, Pelham, Ala., and Dr. Kyle Kleinpeter, Florida; two great-grandchildren, Katherine Bowman and Joseph Bowman; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Anna Mae Barnhill Gremillion, who lived in Alexandria; husband, Harrison M. Kleinpeter, who lived in Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Warren K. (Gertrude) Zehrung and Dorothy Gremillion Lawless, both of whom lived in Alexandria; and two brothers, Morris Gremillion, who lived in Texas City, Texas , and Vance L. Gremillion, who lived in Ola. She was born in Long Bridge near Cottonport and moved to Alexandria as a small child. Following graduation from the Academy of St. Francis Xavier in Alexandria, she was employed as an assistant to a physician for five years. After marriage, she and her husband lived in Alexandria, Baton Rouge and Marksville before moving to Lafayette in 1948. In Lafayette, she was employed temporarily at the New Hope Center during the initial development of that program. She devoted many years to various volunteer activities, such as several parents' clubs, the Children's Carnival, Attakapas Tuberculosis Association, Bayou Council Girl Scouts and several neighborhood walks to raise funds. She received many awards for her work with Our Lady of Lourdes Volunteers (Pink Ladies). She was a charter member of this group, having joined in 1958, and remained active until the death of her beloved husband in 1994. She was a member of St. Thomas of Aquinas Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

LAVENDER, STARLEY JAMES "JACK"
Retired as vice president of TriState Mill Supply and an employee for several years at Georgia-Pacific Corp., he died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at his residence in Zachary. He was 83 and a native of Waco, Texas . Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, 1:30 p.m. until religious services at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. R.W. Markert. He is survived by his wife, Norma Barger Lavender of Zachary; two daughters, Mel L. Hurst of Humble, Texas , and Starley L. Clothier of Zachary; and five grandchildren, James Christian White , Kathleen A. White and Annalee Virginia Hurst, all of Humble, James Edward Phelps II of Zachary, and Holly Marie Webb of Florida. Preceded in death by parents, Starley James Sr. and Marie Burnett Lavender; and a sister, Marie Elizabeth Haralson. He was a member of The Plains Presbyterian Church, Plains, and a former member of Grand Squares Square Dancing Club. Memorial donations may be made to The Plains Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.

LILLY, CURTIS HAISE
A retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant, having served in World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War, he died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at his residence in Hammond. He was 82 and a native of Kentwood. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home chapel, Hammond, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday. interment in Ponchatoula Cemetery, Ponchatoula. Survived by his wife, Beatrice Giffin Jenkins Lilly, Hammond; two sons, James Victor Lilly, New Orleans, and Richard Pyle Lilly, Billings, Mont.; two sisters, Doris Hutchinson, New Sarpy, and Velma Hendry, Roseland; and a grandson. Preceded in death by a sister, Mable Lilly Ryan. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Hammond. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Southeastern Louisiana University.

GUIDRY, EVELYN LOUISE HYMEL
A resident of Port Allen, she died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at her home. She was 72 and a native of Sunshine. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday, celebrated by the Rev. Henry Vavasseur. Entombment in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Mausoleum, Brusly. Survived by her husband, Jessie Joseph "J.C." Guidry, Port Allen; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce Ann Guidry, Maurepas, Judy Ann and Don Harris, Walker, and Jean and Robert Cope, Port Allen; a son and daughter-in-law, Jessie "J.J." Jr. and Susan Hamacher Guidry, Port Allen; two brothers, Jim Hymel, Walker, and Peter Hymel, Sunshine; 10 grandchildren, Kelly Marie Wise, Craig Joseph Guidry, Daniel Wayne Guidry, Eboni Ann Guidry, Christopher Joseph Guidry, Curtis Jean Nickens, Charles Carey Harris, Chrystal Rae Harris, Robert C. Cope Jr. and Pamela Ann Cope; and two great-grandchildren, Cody Ray Harris and Eric Carey Lacy. Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Edna Achee Hymel; six sisters, Fannie Cambre, Angelle Cox, Emily Walton, Doris Argrave, Alice Brown and Bernardette Albarado; two brothers, Jesse Hymel and Arthur Hymel Jr. Pallbearers will be Gerald "Jerry" Brown, Craig Guidry, Charles Harris, Josh Saurage, Rob Cope and Christopher Guidry. Honorary pallbearers are her two brothers.

TEMPLET, ANDREA NOEL
A loving daughter, sister and aunt met her guardian angel and has flown to a glorious place in heaven to be with her loved ones. A seventh-grade student at Pierre Part Middle School and a resident of Pierre Part, she died at 4:27 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in Napoleonville. She was 10 and a native of Houma. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part, after 5 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Pierre Part, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, celebrated by the Rev. Clarence Waguespack. interment in the church cemetery. Survived by her parents, Elson and Sarah Breaux Templet; a sister, Rachel Templet; a brother, Jeremy Templet; a nephew, Tré Borne; and paternal grandparents, Charles Sr. and Louise Aucoin Templet. All surviving relatives are of Pierre Part. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Elisie Sr. and Louise Landry Breaux; an aunt, Harriet Leonard; an uncle, Clyde Breaux, and his daughter, Jessica Breaux; and a cousin, Ronnie Hebert.

TRAVIS, WILLIE EUGENE
A resident of Greensburg, he died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at Summit Hospital, Baton Rouge. He was 56 and a native of Independence. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Visitation at First Baptist Church, Greensburg, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Chris Watkins. interment in Greensburg Cemetery, Greensburg. Survived by his wife, Judy Dedon Travis, Greensburg; three sons, Randy Travis, Baton Rouge, Albert Ray Cecchi, Greensburg, and William Lee Deering, Franklinton; a daughter, Victoria Cecchi, Greensburg; three sisters, Velma Davidson, Kentwood, Patsy McGuff, Greensburg, and Marie Mayer, Las Vegas; a brother, Andrew Travis, Clinton; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Rosa Lea Cutrer Travis.

KERN, JR. CHARLES ALLEN
A resident of Ponchatoula, he died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at New Iberia Medical Center. He was 66 and a native of Jeanerette. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home chapel, Ponchatoula, 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Thursday. interment in Ponchatoula Cemetery. He is survived by a daughter, Laura Kern Landry, New Iberia; two sons, Michael D. Kern and Robert D. Kern, both of Ponchatoula; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Leslie Kern McGowen, Jeanerette, and Geraldine Kern Guyote, Morgan City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Brunet Kern; parents, Charles and Ester Kern; and a sister, Merceded Kern Trimble. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ponchatoula Youth Baseball.

LOWRY, CORMAN V. "C.V."
Former owner of Fil-A-Sac Grocery and retired from SuperFresh Grocery and Specialty Food Sales, he died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 73, a native of Hickman, Ky., and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel from 9 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Milford Walters. interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Velma W. Lowry; two sons, George W. Lowry and Robert L. Lowry; a special cousin, Betty Vance Lear; mother-in-law, Pearl Jackson ; and three grandchildren, Rixie Lowry, Ashleigh Lowry and Jimmy Lowry. A homemaker and a resident of Baton Rouge since 1949, she died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 5, 1918, in Dumas, Ark. Religious services at Fairview Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Q.T. Ellis. Dismissal at 10 a.m. Tuesday. interment in Sweet Olive Cemetery. Survived by a daughter, Lenora Wilson Cole; four grandchildren, Melvin Cole Jr., Monica Cole, Gaynell Cole and Frederick Wilson; and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Wilson; a son, Jesse Wilson Jr.; mother, Eddie Mae Johnson ; a sister, Jessie Glasper; and a brother, Lonnie McCollough. Pallbearers will be Leslie Riley Jr., Melvin H. Cole, Frederick Wilson Jr., Glenn Glasper, George Airline, Richard Hymes and John Glasper. Honorary pallbearer is Joseph Smith.
