CLAIRRECE POOLE

Clairrece "Ann" Poole, 70, of Starks died Monday, Feb. 2 in DeQuincy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4 in Calvary Apostolic Church in Starks with the Rev. Jeremy Shields officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Starks.

Mrs. Poole was a native of Pineland, Tex. and had lived in Starks since 1968. She was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church in Starks. She studied art at the Paris American Academy in Paris, France and Lamar University in Beaumont, Tex.

She was the originator of a unique style of painting, applying the paint with a garden glove. She was employed by South Western Bell for 23 years and was the first woman to be a telephone frameman.

Survivors include: her husband, Phillip W. Poole of Starks; two sons, Ronald Dean Poole of Starks and Steven Michael Poole of El Dorado, Ark.; one daughter, Kayla Herring of Starks; one brother, H. J. Stephens of El Dorado, Ark.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

BILLIE SMITH

Billie Smith, 57, of Starks died Thursday, Jan. 29, in a Lake Charles hospital.

She was a resident of Starks all her life and was a member of Starks Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Breaux of Starks; her mother, Azel Tillman of Starks; one brother, Kenny Ashworth of Starks; one sister, Chaline Dalhquist of Breaux Bridge; three half sisters and one half brother and one grandchild. A graveside service was at Smith Cemetery in Starks under the direction of Snider Funeral Home.

EUNICE HODGES RICHEY

Mrs. Eunice Hodges Richey, 92, died Monday, Feb. 2, in a Ponca City, Okla. nursing home. She was a native of Ragley and had lived in Southwest Louisiana most of her life. She moved to Ponca City in 1997.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6 in Hixson Chapel in Westlake with the Rev. George Glass officiating. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by four children: June Woy of Luther Glen, Vir.; Jerry Richey of Ponca City, Okla.; Glynn Richey of Ragley and Charles (Chuck) Richey of Westlake; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

MARY KATHERINE JOHNSON

Funeral services for Mary Kathleen Johnson , 61, of DeQuincy were held Friday, March 26, in First Church of God in Christ Church. Burial was in the Community Cemetery in DeQuincy under the direction of Snider Funeral Home.

Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, March 18, 2004, in the DeQuincy Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Vinton and had been a resident of DeQuincy for 18 years.

Survivors include 11 children, Harrison Johnson , Jr. of Beaumont, Tex., Clifton Johnson of Houma, Janice Johnson of Lafayette, Sabrina Chaison of Beaumont, Tex., Tammy McQueen of Dallas, Tex., Sheila Johnson of DeQuincy, Jerry Johnson of Lake Charles, Larry Johnson of DeQuincy, Rosiland Brown of Kansas, Mo., Mark Keith Johnson and Darrell Johnson , both of DeQuincy; one sister, Bessie Broussard of Orange, Tex.; and 11 grandchildren.

AZALEE ROBERTS

Azalee Roberts, 79, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at her home in Englewood, Tenn. She was a native of DeQuincy and had lived in McMinn County, Tenn. for the past six years.

Graveside services were held Friday, March 26, at Mars Hill Cemetery with Rev. Scott Cardin officiating.

Her survivors include one daughter, Linda Martin of Englewood, Tenn.; two sons, Lee Roy Williams of Englewood, Tenn. and Kenneth Williams of Bellflower, Calif.; two brothers, J. B. Marcantel of Sulphur and Wesley Marcantel of DeQuincy; one sister, Retha Corley of DeQuincy; and seven grandchildren.

RYAN PAUL SISCO

Funeral services for Ryan Paul Sisco, 18, of Longville, were held Thursday, March 25, in Squyres United Methodist Church in Ragley. Rev. Lisa Turnbull officiated. Burial was in Squyres/Risinger Memorial Park in Ragley.

Mr. Sisco died Tuesday, March 23, 2004 from injuries received in a single-vehicle accident near Longville.

Mr. Sisco was born in Sulphur, and had lived all his life in Longville. He was a senior at South Beauregard High School where he was a drummer in the band and a member of the BETA Club. He was a member of Squyres United Methodist Church in Ragley.

Survivors include his parents, Ronnie and Keitha Sisco of Longville; two sisters Susan Rachelle Sisco and Veronica Lee Sisco, both of Natchitoches; maternal grandparents, Altha May and Larry Elliot of Westlake, and Mary and George Chisolm of Ragley; and paternal grandparents, Paula and George Sisco of Longville.

JUSTIN GLENN YELLOTT

Justin Glenn Yellott, 27, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, in a hospital in Naples, Fla.

He was raised in DeQuincy and was the valedictorian of DeQuincy High School's class of 1995. He received a bachelor's degree in nursing from McNeese State University and in 1999 entered the nursing field as an ICU nurse at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

At the time of his death, he was enrolled in the Norman R. Wolford School of Nurse Anesthesia pursuing a graduate degree.

Survivors include his wife, Aron Terry Yellott, formerly of Orange, Tex.; daughter, Mia; parents, Glenn and Carol Yellott; brother, Brandon Yellott; grandparents, James and Lela Thompson, all of DeQuincy; and Junior T. Yellott of Sulphur.

His funeral was held Tuesday, March 30, in DeQuincy Church of Christ. Burial was in McFatter's Cemetery in DeQuincy under the direction of Snider Funeral Home.

GEORGE A. SEIFORD

Funeral services for George Arthur Seiford, 81, of Ragley, were held Sunday, May 20, 2004 at the Squyres United Methodist Church of Ragley. Burial was in Squyres Risinger Memorial Park Cemetery in Ragley under the direction of Snider Funeral Home.

Mr. Seiford died Tuesday, May 25 in a nursing home in Lafayette.

Mr. Seiford was born in Akron, Ohio, and had lived in Ragley for 32 years. He was a member of the Squyres United Methodist Church of Ragley.

Mr. Seiford retired from the U. S. Air Force after 23 years of service, had served during World War II and had earned the rank of master sergeant.

He served as past president of the Ragley Recreation Association and was inducted into the National Dixie Youth Hall of Fame. George Seiford Day was declared on Nov. 22.

Survivors include his wife, Harriet Seiford of Lafayette; two sons, George A. "Tony" Seiford of Lake Charles and Ron Seiford of Iowa; one daughter, Pamela S. Courville; one brother, Edward Seiford of California; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

LAURA LOUISE LAGRONE

Funeral services for Laura Louise "Nanny" LaGrone, 90 of DeQuincy, were held Monday, May 31, at the First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. Rev. T.D. Cardwell officiated. Burial was in the McFatter Cemetery under the direction of Snider Funeral Home.

Mrs. LaGrone died Friday, May 28, 2004 in an area nursing facility.

Mrs. LaGrone was born January 24, 1914 in Vinton and lived in DeQuincy all of her life where she was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy. She was a retired nurse working at W.O. Moss Regional Hospital for 17 years and at the West Calcasieu-Cameron Hospital for several years.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna Torres Hoover of Lake Charles; two sisters, Romona Windham of DeQuincy and Ovell Gardner of Vidor, Tex., and several grandchildren.

SYBIL PERKINS

Funeral services for Sybil Perkins, 77, were held Thursday, May 27, in the Snider Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leonard Guillott officiated. Burial was in Perkins Cemetery.

Mrs. Perkins died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, in the DeQuincy Care Center.

Mrs. Perkins was born in Edgerly and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Edgerly.

Survivors include one daughter, Valerie Sandlin of DeQuincy; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Perkins and son, Eddie Perkins.

MOLLIEANN SAVOIE

Funeral services for Mollieann "Molly" Savoie, 69, of Jennings were held Wednesday, May 26, in Ardoin Funeral Home in Elton. Father Marshall Boulet officiated. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery.

Mrs. Savoie died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, in her residence.

Survivors include two sisters, Bonnie S. David Porter of Lake Charles and Lauretta S. Fluitt of DeQuincy.
