Visiting at Jordan United Methodist Church from noon until religious services at 2 p.m. Saturday. interment in Hope Cemetery. Survived by two daughters, Alma Williams and Patricia W. Albert; five sons, Desi, Cleveland, Gregory, Walter and Malcolm Knight; two sisters, Elizabeth Augustus and Lovie Williams; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Winnfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

WILLIAMSON, ELOUISE THAMES
A retired employee with United Companies and a resident of Denham Springs, she died at 4 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 63 and a native of Watson. Visiting was at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Visiting at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until religious services at 3 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Mark Crosby. interment in Live Oak Methodist Church Cemetery, Denham Springs. Survived by her husband, Buddy Williamson; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jan Wunstel, and Penny and Charles Powell Jr., all of Watson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Selena Williamson and Charles A. "Al" Jr. and Jackie Williamson, all of Watson; a sister, Juanita Cowart, Watson; two brothers, Beverly Thames, Watson, and I.B. Thames, Pineville; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Arbour and Jimmy Graves. Preceded in death by her parents, Isrie B. and Celia Impson Thames; and two sisters, Ida Lee Arbour and Mary Dell Graves. Pallbearers will be Bubbie Cowart, Charles Ray Thames, Ray Thames, Dean Thames, Donnie Arbour, Barry Arbour, Timmy Thames, Tracey Thames and Jesse Gordon. Honorary pallbearers are Jim McMorris and Ernie Sanders. She was a member of Live Oak United Methodist Church.

WINFIELD, PEARL SMITH "MAMA PEARL"
A resident and native of Baton Rouge, she died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 91. Visiting was at Winnfield Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Religious services at Israelite Baptist Church at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Charles Burris, Ph.D. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. Survived by five daughters, Dorothy Durio, Vera Jones and husband Alvin, Joyce Hatch, Helen Loretta Rankins and husband Arthur, and Ruth Brown and Beatrice Jones, all of Baton Rouge; a son, Lloyd Winfield, Minnesota; two sisters, Louise Henderson and Mary Lee Bazile; 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Winfield; two sons, Edward and Samuel Winfield; mother, Annie Bell Davis; and two sisters, Lucy Servick and Elnora Jones.

ADAMS, TIA
A retired property control manager with the state of Louisiana Social Services Property Management, she died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at her residence in Baton Rouge. She was 80 and a native of Ardmore, Okla. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Goverment St., from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel from 9 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Joseph R. Toups; a son, Paul E. Adams II; and a niece, Sharon Jenean Knight, all of Baton Rouge; and four grandchildren, Tia Kristine Toups, Frankfurt, Ky., Paula Katherine Toups, Lexington, Ky., Joseph Davis Toups, Ruston, and Daniel Ryan Adams, Norfolk, Va. Preceded in death by her parents, Llylburn and Juanita Meek Woods ; a sister, Billie Jean Knight; and a brother-in-law, Louis J. Knight. Pallbearers will be Joseph D. Toups, Thomas Dave Washer, James E. Toups Jr., Dennis McCain, David I. Norwood and Coleman D. Brown.

BAKER, VERA HALUSKA
After 90 years of bringing love and joy to her family and friends, she died at home on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001. She was at peace with herself and ready to pass from this life. She leaves behind a circle of faith and kindness. Vera Haluska was born on April 17, 1911, at the Hungarian Settlement in Albany. She was the youngest of 10 children born to John and Mary Salvisy Haluska, who immigrated to the United States from Hungary. She attended nursing school at Hotel Dieu in Beaumont, Texas , and worked as a registered nurse there before marrying Reagan R. Baker. Vera and Reagan lived in Beaumont for almost 50 years and were blessed with three daughters. Vera stayed at home and created a warm and wonderful home for her family. After her husband's death in 1978, Vera moved to their farm in Kingsbury, Texas . She was an active member of the Kingsbury Volunteer Fire Department, the ladies home auxiliary and the Guadalupe Valley Hospital Pink Ladies. Vera moved to Baton Rouge in 1990, where she eagerly participated in the Village Wood's community and continued caring for others as a volunteer at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital and at St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room. She actively enjoyed membership in the XYZ Club and the singles club. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church. Vera was an artist, a storyteller, a compassionate friend and a lady of great faith. She had the rare gift of making everyone who knew her feel special and loved. Whether she was called Vera, mother, Mama, Gogie or Grandma, Great or Baker, she brough inspiration, love, laughter and kindness into the lives of all who met her. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, John, and sister Helen, as well as infant siblings in Hungary; her beloved husband, Reagan, eldest daughter, Mary Lou Baker Glenewinkel, and son-in-law, Elmer H. Glenewinkel. She is survived by two daughters, Vera Bahlinger and Rita Wallace and their husbands Charlie and Tommy, all of Baton Rouge; 13 grandchildren, John and Angel Glenewinkel, Reagan and Susan Glenewinkel, Julia and Johnny Abrameit, Hughie Glenewinkel, Mary and Kevin Hart, E.V. Wallace, George and Johnelle Wallace, Carla and Mark Morel, Charles and Donna Bahlinger, Andre and Martin Treadwell, Nicole and Chris Geske, Melissa and Johnny Brocato, Mary Elizabeth and Ryan McLelland; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty and Theresa; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins - and so many others that she "adopted" over the years. Visitation was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation at St. George Catholic Church, from 10:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Friday. interment in the church cemetery. Vera's grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room, P.O. Box 127, Baton Rouge, LA 70821.

BARNES, ALBERT
A former employee of Capitol Steel and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001. He was 72 and a native of Doloroso, Miss. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home from 8:30 a.m. Saturday until religious services at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Charles H. Tademy. interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. Survived by his wife, Naomi Badie Barnes; four daughters, Angela B. Jones, Amanda B. Paul, Linda Thompson and Anita Brown; three sisters, Maggie B. Batiste, Jessie Sewell and Margret B. Major, all of Baton Rouge; four brothers, the Rev. George, Pearo, Eugene and Abraham Barnes; five grandchildren, Markisha, MarQuisha and Hardy Paul IV, Gregturis Jones and Jamie Johnson . Preceded in death by his parents, George and Matteal E. Barnes; a brother, a son, five brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and four nephews.

BAUMANN, JR. JAMES A.
A resident of Streator, Ill., and a native of Baton Rouge, he died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001. He was 43. Arrangements are pending with Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs.

CHAVERS, PAUL RICHARDSON
Paul loved to hunt and he also had a passion for fishing. He and Erline spent endless hours creating treasured memories at their camp on False River. Guiding the boat for water-skiers, motoring out to fish on the flats, casting out for bass or catfish from the pier, the never-ending untangling of lines and baiting of hooks for his children, and later, his grandchildren, frying freshly cleaned fish in bubbling oil in the cast iron kettle, parties at Pop's … these, and so much more. Friends and relatives were always welcome at the camp, the long days layering into nights. These were easy-going, unhurried times, simple and uncomplicated, like Paul Chavers himself. He taught those who knew and loved him how to shape a life with meaning. He will be missed. A retired marketing representative for BellSouth, with 45 years of service, a charter member of the Twenty Club, a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a native and resident of Baton Rouge, he passed on to a better place at 10:07 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at his residence. He was 78. Visiting was at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel from 8:30 a.m. until religious services at noon Friday, conducted by the Rev. Joseph Steffes. interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Erline Morgan Chavers, Baton Rouge; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Chavers and Karl Holzmuller, both of Anacortes, Wash.; two sons, Jesse Dallas Chavers, Bossier City, and Richard "Rick" Morgan, Mokena, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Molly Robbins, Anacortes, Sarah McNally, Shreveport, Paul T. "Bud" Chavers, Shreveport, Richard W. "Rick" Morgan III, Reston, Va., Melissa L. Morgan, Clemson, S.C., and a student at Clemson University, William Robert Stearman, Richmond, Va., and Jennifer Stearman, Baltimore; and a great-granddaughter, Paula Sophia Woodward. Also survived by a brother-in-law, Loyd J. Rockhold, Baton Rouge; niece, Jan Muse, Pearl River; and niece, Sharon Holder, Baton Rouge, whose support to Paul and his family, both medically and emotionally, made a heavy burden lighter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Josie Richardson Chavers; his twin sister, Paula Rockhold; and two brothers, George William and Jasper Schuler Chavers. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that a donation be sent to Hospice Care of Louisiana Inc.

CHRISHON, LOIS STEWART "HONEYBEE"
A retired Head Start teacher's aide and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, she died at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at her home. She was 55. Visiting at New St. John Baptist Church from 8:30 a.m. Saturday until religious services at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Dr. W.M. Myles. interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. Survived by three daughters, DeCarla N. Baaheth, Carlette A. Baaheth and Saunta S. Ross; two sons, Namreh Baaheth and Valerine Baaheth; a sister, Billie Marie Dixon; and seven grandchildren, Falynn, Namra, Valerine II, Trebrah, Samesia, Kirsten and Ezekiel. Winnfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

CLEMENT, LARRY JOSEPH
A resident of Jackson ville, Fla., he died 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001. He was 56, born Nov. 14, 1945, in Napoleonville. Visiting at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Labadieville, from 8 a.m. Monday until religious services at 10 a.m. Entombment in St. Joseph Mausoleum, Thibodaux. He was the husband of Barbara Blanchard Clement; and father of Anthony and Shawn Clement. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Jennifer D. Clement; and two grandchildren, Kayla and Chase Clement, all of Jackson ville. Preceded in death by his parents, Clifton J. and Emma Mae Borne Clement; maternal grandparents, Louis P. and Linda Naquin Borne; paternal grandparents, John and Edna Clement; and an infant sister, Diane Clement. COOPER, ANNIE BELL JONES
A native and resident of St. James, she died at 8:54 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Gonzales. She was 70. Visiting at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, St. James, from 3 p.m. until religious services at 7 p.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Samuel Jones. Dismissal service on Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by her husband, Oliver Cooper Sr., St. James; seven daughters, Veronica Taylor , Stephanie and Melissa Cooper, Paula Link and Patricia White , all of St. James, Betty Harris of St. Rose and Alfrenetta Cooper of Severa, Md.; five sons, the Rev. Marshall Cooper Sr., Convent, John and Clyde Cooper Sr., both of St. James, the Rev. Oliver Cooper Jr. of Lynwood, Calif., and Rory Cooper of Alamitos, Calif.; four sisters, Stella Harris and Rita Henry, both of Donaldsonville, Lorenza Steib of Vacherie and Nellie Ester of St. James; two brothers, the Rev. Sidney Jones Sr. and Louis Jones Jr., both of St. James; two sons-in-law, Michael Link and Nelson Harris; four daughters-in-law, Derline, Deboraha, Yvette and Yolanda Cooper; 22 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Louis Jones Sr. and Florence Scieneaux Jones; a son, Tyrone Cooper; a daughter, Paulette Cooper; and two sisters, Odeal Harris and Onita Gipson. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, he went to our Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at 5:12 p.m. Visiting was at Ibert's Funeral Home, Patterson, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until rites at 1 p.m. Friday. interment in church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Mary Guarisco Couvillier; two daughters and their spouses, Veronica and Eddie Prince and Vickie and David Johnson ; five grandchildren, Camillia, Valerie and Eddie Prince Jr., Glenn Libet, Breaux Bridge, and Billie Jo Libet, Pollock; three great-grandchildren, Dyamond, Blaine, and James Libet; a brother, Russell Couvillier, New Iberia; two sisters, Elveda Faul, Pine Prairie, and Burt Ragin, Baldwin; a stepson and spouse, Jay and Paula Siemann; three stepdaughters and spouses, Cissy and Charles Tramonte, Darlene and A.J. He was preceded in death by first wife, Lily Bonin Couvillier; two sons, Billy and Camile Jr.; father and mother, Aristele and Camillia Cavalier Couvillier; three brothers, Anos, J.C. and James Couvillier; and four sisters, Rita and Celeste Couvillier, Lola Richard and Addie Eva Rousseau.
