HELFRICH
COLLEGE POINT, N.Y. - William Foster Helfrich, 76, a native of Flushing, N.Y., former resident of Crown Point and resident of Luling for four years, died Feb. 8, 1999. He was the husband of the late Mildred Rohrer Helfrich, father of Linda Rinfret and Billi Ann Grisbaum and step-father of Loretta, Hank and Leroy Dymond and the late Terry Dymond.
He is also survived by 10 step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Services were to be held in College Point, with interment at St. Mary'sCemetery, Flushing, N.Y.
JAMES
ALGIERS - Samuel "Cous" James, 78, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Harvey for 40 years, died Feb. 10, 1999. He was the husband of Louise James and father of Bernadine Harrell.
He was also the brother of Almedia London and Ernest James.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were to be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Greater Morning Star BaptistChurch, Algiers, with interment at New Hope Cemetery.
OCKMOND
VACHERIE - Lillian Luquette Ockmond, 87, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Feb. 11, 1999. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Ockmond Sr. and mother of Gloria Stein, Barbara Becnel, Betty Marse, Dianna Brown, Lillian Granier, Robert Jr. and Russell Ockmond and the late Lawrence Ockmond.
She was also the daughter of the late Numa and Corinne Oubre Luquette and sister of Florence Gravois and Albert Luquette, and was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 12 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.
RICHARD
GRAMERCY - Palmyre Kroll Richard, 86, a resident of Gramercy, died Feb. 9, 1999. She was the wife of the late Amedee "Rich" Richard and mother of Dwain, Carl and Barry Richard.
She was also the daughter of the late Henry and Palmyre Rome Kroll and sister of the late Lillian, Florence, Bernice, Iola, Rose, Blanche, Wilmore, Wilbert, Rudolph and Henry Kroll.
She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 11 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Paulina.
RUSSELL
LAPLACE - John Russell, 76, a native and resident of LaPlace, died Feb. 11, 1999. He was the son of the late John and Martha French Russell and brother of the late Lillian Davis.
Services were held Feb. 12 at Ninde Chapel Methodist Church, LaPlace, with interment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery, LaPlace.
BENTLEY
NEW ORLEANS
Merviva Bentley, 96, a native of Reserve and a resident of New Orleans, died April 2, 1999. She was the wife of the late Arthur Bentley andmother of Wilson Lawrence and the late Mable Camese and James, Willie and Henry Lawrence. She was step-mother of Ruth Smiley.She was also the sister of Beatrice Anderson and the late Georgiana Gilmore, Denise Johnson and Adam Weston.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 10 in the chapel of D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.
BROWN VACHERIE
Deloris Rose Brown, 38, a native and resident of Wallace, died April 10, 1999. She was the daughter of O'Neil Sr. and Deloris Alexis Brown andsister of Cheryl Demery, Brenda Coleman, Theresa Poche and Bryan and O'Neil Brown Jr.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum.

Carolyn Dennis, 43, a native and resident of Vacherie, died April 6, 1999. She was the mother of Tiffany Batiste.She was also the daughter of the late George Sr. and Aldonia Dennis andsister of Willie May Marshall, Augusta McNary, Vivian Bazile, Leona Williams, Leonard, George and Calvin Dennis and the late Royal and Bernard Dennis.
Services were held April 12 at St. Luke Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

Edgar "Po-Toe" Dennis Sr., 82, a native of Welcome and a resident of St. James, died April 8, 1999. He was the husband of the lateMargaret James Dennis and father of Gustavia Forte, Cynthia Parker, Rowena, Patricia, Edgar Jr., Morris and Stephen Dennis and the late SharlinMilan.
He was also the son of the late Ovide and Fannie Jones Dennis and brother of Fannie Watts and Austin Sr. and Elvin Dennis.He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 12 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery.

Edward Dennis, 55, a native of Welcome and a resident of New Orleans, died April 9, 1999. He was the step-father of Gilbert Drayton III.He was also the son of the Rev. Alvin Dennis and step-son of Alonia Dennis and brother of Eloise Reynard, Ester Green, Dorothy Anderson, Margie Gleason, Annette, Donald, Jim, Alvin and the Rev. Willie Dennis, EdwardRobinson and Carman and the Rev. Ernest Gleason.Services were held April 13 in the chapel of Dorothy Lawless Mortuary, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.

Minata Breaud Faucheux, 95, a native of Lutcher and a resident of Waggaman for 60 years, died April 8, 1999. She was the wife of the lateLewis Joseph Faucheux and mother of Wayne Faucheux and the late Kenneth Joseph Faucheux.
She was also the daughter of the late Eugene and Julie Pollet Breaud and sister of Florette Goodwin and the late Marguerite Livaudais, Bessie Huge and Raoul, Whitney, Polyey, George, Eddie and Nelson Breaud.
She is also survived by one grandchild-in-law and two great- grandchildren-in-law.
Services were held April 10 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Antoinise Perilloux Gendron, 91, a native and resident of LaPlace, died April 10, 1999. She was the wife of the late Robert Gendron and mother of Gloria Roussel and Robert Gendron Jr.
She was also the sister of Agney Perilloux and the late Denise Rushing, Jeannette Lapping and Joseph Perilloux.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 13 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.
