COOLEY, ROBERT EDISON
One of God's special children, he was born Dec. 21, 1954, in Natchez, Miss., and died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Acadian Nursing Center. He was 46 and a resident of Baton Rouge. Private family services will be held Tuesday. He is survived by his father, Edison Cooley of Springfield; stepfather, Lawrence Kyzar of Bogue Chitto, Miss.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Vickie Cooley of Watson and Paul and Debby Albarado of Baton Rouge; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Jimmy Pearson and Wanda and S.J. Colletti, all of Baton Rouge; and eight nieces and nephews, Michael Nickens, Amanda Pearson, Dori and Brandon Colletti, Savannah and Dallas Wallace and Gregory and Travis Cooley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Nettles Kysar; and maternal and paternal grandparents. His final resting place will be in a family cemetery in Woodville, Miss., next to his mother and grandmother.

DAVIS, JR. WILLIAM "DUB"
A resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Summit Hospital. He was 63 and a native of New Orleans. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by Pastor Don L. Bradford. Survived by devoted cousins, Brenda Gauthier Ephron and Raymond Gauthier Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his father, William Davis Sr.; mother, Annie Horton Davis; grandfather, Anthony Davis, and grandmother, Pearl Jackson B. Davis.

DENHAM, EDWIN LOUIS "PETE"
A self-employed entrepreneur, he died at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at his residence in Gonzales. He was 71 and native of Liberty, Miss. He was a U.S Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at New River Baptist Church from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Mark Flurry. interment in New River Cemetery. Survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan DeLaune Denham of Gonzales; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cammie and Ron Manuel of Prairievile, Amy Gremillion, and Suzi and Bobby Cannon, all of Gonzales; a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Angela Denham of Gonzales; two sisters, Virginia Bateman and Lena "Sally" Guidry, both of St. Amant; three brothers, Riley Denham of St. Amant, and Hugh Denham and David Denham Sr., both of Gonzales; 11 grandchildren, Aaron Denham, Logan Ramagos, Benjamin Denham, Lauren Ramagos, Nicholas Denham, Jillian Gremillion, Lillian Ramagos, Conor Cannon, Presley Denham, Robert Cannon and Justin Cannon. Preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Wall Denham; father, Edgar Thaddeus Denham; two brothers, Murry O'Neal Denham and Lyndon Denham; and a sister, Lucille James. Pallbearers will be Mike DeLaune, Randy Denham, Thad Denham, Brent DeLaune, Chris Comeaux and Aaron Denham. He was a member and usher of New River Baptist Church, VFW Post 3693 for 38 years and the American Legion Post 81.

DUESLER, DONALD CHARLES
A retired CLECO Electric Co. employee, with 16 years of service, and a resident of Zachary, he died at 10:40 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at his residence. He was 63 and a native of Utica, N.Y. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Visitation was at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Visitation at LaVille Funeral Home, Ville Platte, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Monday. interment in Turkey Creek Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Opal Von Smith Duesler of Zachary; a stepson, W.D. "Darrell" Johnson of Zachary; two sisters, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Glenn Johnson . He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pride, La., Ward. GEORGE, WARREN J.
A retired city-parish employee, he died at 6:12 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at his home in Baton Rouge. Visiting at Hollabaugh Spindle Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Survived by his wife, Marjorie George; a brother; a sister; a son, Warren George Jr.; two daughters, Marchilla and Sherry; two stepdaughters, Jo Ann Villar and Judith Rivet; a son-in-law, Allen Rivet; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, a son and a daughter. Special recognition to everyone at Trinity Hospice for their care and support. Also, special thanks to Marian Hall, Edgar Guidry and Sharon Hopson for special care during our difficult times.

GRACE, MALLIE MCCLENDON
A resident of Kentwood, she died at 7 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at Hammond Nursing Home in Hammond. She was 75 and a native of Washington Parish. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Richard Magee and the Rev. Matthew Pearson. interment in Wilmer Cemetery, Wilmer. Survived by her husband, Herbert Grace of Kentwood; three daughters, Faye Boyd of Franklinton, Annette Hutchinson of Kentwood and Jeanette Fitzmorris of Folsom; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillie Bateman of Franklinton; a brother, Denman McClendon of Mount Hermon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Eli and Valentine McClendon; a sister, Albenia Miller; and two brothers, Herman McClendon and Arlie McClendon.

GRAHAM, CONNIE SIBLEY "AUNT MAE"
A beloved sister, stepdaughter, aunt and friend, who loved working with her day lilies, she died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at Harvest Manor Nursing Home in Denham Springs. She was 85, a resident of Denham Springs and native of Baptist. Visiting was at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Visiting at Judson Baptist Church, Walker, from 2 p.m. until religious services at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Merelin McCon, assisted by the Rev. Freddie Arnold. interment in Judson Baptist Church Cemetery, Walker. Survived by five sisters, Peggy Brown, Patsy King, Sharon Szanyi, Judy Sanders and Cecile Sanders; a brother, David Wilton Sibley; stepmother, Merle Sibley; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, J.Y. Graham; father and mother, William "Pink" and Clara Mack Sibley; an infant son, two sisters and five brothers. Pallbearers will be Ray Arnold, Kerney Arnold, Robin Sibley, Jess Streeter, Wayne Duncan and Donell Sevario. She was a member of Judson Baptist Church, Walker. She served as church janitor and volunteered in the church nursery for many years.

GRAHAM III, FRANK H.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8. Funeral Mass for Frank H. Graham III will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Jackson ville, Fla. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jackson ville. Age 58, he Passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, after a lengthy illness. A native of Jackson ville, he was the owner of Graham Enterprises, a silk-screen and embroidery business. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Garner Graham of Baton Rouge; a son, Frank H. Graham IV of Jackson ville; a daughter, Michelle Vicki Poitevint and husband David of Jackson ville; a sister, Rosemary Graham Harbolt and husband Phil Dekle of Tallahassee, Fla.; a stepson, Scott Garner and wife Brenda; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Garner; nieces, Becky and Cheryl Hines; nephews, Chris and Michael Hines; a grandson, Parker David Poitevint; three stepgrandsons, Shaun, Timothy and Daniel Garner; and many, many friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Community Hospice Northeast-Morris Center at Shands Hospital, 580 W. Eighth St., Jackson ville, FL 32201.

HARRIS, JR. WADE
A retired U.S. Navy senior chief petty officer and a retired U.S. Postal Service employee, he died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 81, a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Chilton County, Ala. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Tuesday. interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Barbara L. Harris; two sons and daughters-in-law, Adrian W. and Lettye R. Harris and Dean E. and Ann Harris; a daughter-in-law, Helen Harris; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Glenn and Bruce Harris; a stepson, Gary Grissom; and his first wife Grace "Puddin" Harris.

HAYES, DELLA EVELYN KIMBERLIN (MRS. RUFUS D.)
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Della Evelyn Kimberlin Hayes died peacefully in Baton Rouge at 12:05 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, after a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 15, 1913, in Sulphur, she resided in Baton Rouge for more than 60 years. She was a graduate of Louisiana College and a former member of Chapter W of PEO. She spent her life dedicated to family, church and community service. Survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Judge Rufus D. Hayes; her three daughters, Della Odom Hayes, Evelyn Kimberlin Hayes, M.D., and Nancy Naomi Hayes Bass; her six grandchildren, Charles F. Boyd, Rufus H. Boyd, John H. Donnes, Michael D. Bass, Becky Bass Seale and Chris C. Bass; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Lan and Binh Dinh and their children, Suong, Phuong, Amy, Evelyn and David, whom she considered her adopted Vietnamese family. Preceded in death by her father, the Rev. Charles N. Kimberlin; her mother, Della Odom Kimberlin; and two brothers, Dr. Charles N. Kimberlin Jr. and Gibson O. Kimberlin. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Binh Dinh. Honorary pallbearers are Carroll Bass and Frank Boyd. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 11:30 a.m. until religious services at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Dr. George Haile. interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation for the loving care given by the staff of Ollie Steele Burden Manor.

JONES, STEPHEN ELLIS "STEVE"
A student at West Feliciana High School and a resident of St. Francisville, he died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge, as a result of an automobile accident. He was 16, born Jan. 30, 1985. Visiting at New St. Paul Baptist Church No. 2, St. Francisville, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday. Religious services at the church at noon Monday, conducted by the Rev. Roosevelt Norflin. interment in church cemetery. He is survived by his son, Shaun E. Jones of Bakersfield, Calif.; father, Russell Matthews of St. Francisville; mother, Chandra Jones-Williams of Bakersfield; two sisters, Kimberly D. Jones and Curtishia C. Williams, both of Bakersfield; two brothers, Thomas M. Jones of Bakersfield and Braxton J. Matthews of Houston; maternal grandmother, Barbara Jones; and paternal grandparents, Leo and Annie Matthews; three uncles, Terry, Eric and Keith Matthews; and a host of great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Martin and Rosale Jones, who were of St. Francisville; and paternal great-grandparents, Leslie and Katherine Matthews, who were of Jackson , and Noah and Emma Bradford, who were of New Orleans. He graduated from Emerson Junior High School in Bakersfield, where he received the Curtis Hill Memorial Award for Athlete of the Year 1999-2000. He went on to attend Bakersfield High School and played junior varsity football and basketball. He won recognition for his participation in sports with Boys and Girls Club, Emerson Junior High, Bakersfield High and countless other teams throughout Bakersfield. He later transferred to West Feliciana High School in St. Francisville. Arrangements entrusted to Richardson Funeral Home, Clinton.

LAFEBVRE, LUCILLE SIMONEAUX
A homemaker and doctor's assistant, she died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at River West Medical Center. She was 81, a native of Paincourtville and resident of Plaquemine. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine, from 10 a.m. Monday until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Joe Camilleri. interment in Grace Memorial Park. Survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mae Navarre, Plaquemine, Marion and Douglas Flatau, Plaquemine, and Mary "Bootie" Tamplain, Donaldsonville; a brother and sister-in-law, George and Alvine "Baye" Simoneaux, Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, John Malcom "Blackie" Lefebvre; parents, Henry and Stella Oufnac Simoneaux; and two brothers, Herbert and Lloyd J. Simoneaux. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine, or to a charity of your choice. Special thanks to Dr. James E. LATHERS, JACK JAMES "PUG"
A resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 3:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 69 and a native of Clinton. Visiting at Desselle Funeral Home, 263 Eddie Robinson Sr. Drive, from 8:30 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by Maj. Dan Heard. interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by a host of nieces, including a dear niece, Barbara Jackson Tate of Baton Rouge; and nephews. Preceded in death by a brother, B. James; and four sisters, Ella Jackson , Rose Anna Carter, Adalee Simon and O. "Lou" James. He loved his family and friends.

LEE, JR. SAMUEL "SAMMY LEE"
A retired professional painter and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died at 8:42 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 58. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road, from 4 p.m. Monday until religious services at 7 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Keno Spurlock and the Rev. Charlie Handy. Dismissal at 10 a.m. Tuesday. interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Elizabeth and Sampson Duplessis Sr., and Stacey Stevens; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Tonya McCreary; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Woodrow Thomas and Anna and Henry Robinson; two foster sisters, Twana Dixon and husband Daniel and Bettie Sims; a foster brother, Frank Ferdinand; an aunt, Mamie Lee; and eight grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Sr. and Clementine "Gertie" Lee; a brother, Elbert "Roy" Lee; and a niece, Kimberly Williams.
