Sisson and husband Neal, Marietta, Ga.; two sons, Tom Woods ide Jr. and wife Aline, Jackson , and George Woods ide and wife Wally of St. Francisville; a sister, Lottie Harris, Marksville; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Woods ide; and a son-in-law, Ralph E. Quinn. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

ANDREWS, JEFRÉ MICHAEL
A loving son, father and brother and a security guard at KOA Campground, he died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, in Denham Springs. He was 41, a resident of Denham Springs and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Duke. interment in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. Survived by his mother, Janis Theriot Andrews; a daughter, Tara Lynn Andrews; a son, Anthony Michael Andrews; two sisters, Annaleah A. Miller and Irene Wisner; a niece, Heather Elizabeth Miller; and numerous aunts, an uncle and cousins. Preceded in death by his father, Harry Andrews. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. CALLEGAN, MELVIN A. "MEL"
A retired barber and a resident of Plaquemine, he died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at his residence. He was 61 and a native of White Castle. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, from 10 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine, at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, celebrated by the Rev. Joseph M. Camilleri. interment in Grace Memorial Park. Survived by a godson, Danny Ramagos, Addis; and numerous cousins, including Richard Ramagos and his wife, Patsy. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Ramagos Callegan. Pallbearers will be Gary Haydel, Raymond Tullier, Clyde Favron, Mickey Rivet, Clyde Loubiere, Tony "Hummer" Falcon and Mickey Waller. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf and was a big LSU fan.

A retired laborer and member of Local 1177, he died at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. He was 73 and a resident of Darrow. Visiting at Lawson-Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Religious services at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 4396 La. 75, Darrow, at 8 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Myron Jones Sr. Dismissal at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial in Von Hoffa Cemetery, Darrow. Survived by eight daughters, Gloria P. Riley, Marjorie C. Bush, Dorothy C. Earl, Brenda C. Jones, Joyce C. LeBlanc , Rosemary C. Lawson, Debra C. Williams and Jacqueline C. Palmer; a son, Dennis Carey; four sisters, Evamae Nelson, Althea Jenkins, Luverta Dunbar and Lillian Owens; a brother, James Carey; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Melvina Price; his wife, Mary Glover Carey; a son, Percy L. Parker; and four sisters.

CLEMENT, MABEL GRANIER BABIN
A resident of Norco and Metairie, she died at 3:50 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was 84 and a native of Plaquemine. She was the wife of the late Joseph Carl Clement by second marriage and the late Gervais J. Babin by first marriage. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Alexina Granier Babin. She is survived by two sons, Larry C. Babin and Alfred M. Babin; a daughter, Lynette B. LaCaze; two daughters-in-law, Kathleen M. Babin and Jane H. Babin; a son-in-law, John P. LaCaze Jr.; a brother, Ulysse Babin Sr.; eight grandchildren, Larry C. Babin Jr., Danielle N. Babin, Christa B. Marshall, Adele M. Babin, Dave M. Babin, Alicia A. LaCaze, Trish E. LaCaze and Kayla M. LaCaze; and a great-grandson, Larry C. Babin III. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Babin Sr. and Louis Babin Sr.; and three sisters, Florence Babin, Virginia Pontiff and Beatrice Berger. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norco, at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Friends may call at the church after 9 a.m. Wednesday. Entombment in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum. Arrangements entrusted to H.C. Alexander Funeral Home of Norco.

DAIGRE, JR. ROLAND EDWARD
Died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at 7:30 a.m. He was 74, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Plaquemine. He was born on Aug. 29, 1927, to Roland Edward Daigre Sr. and Mary Grace Breaux Daigre. He graduated from St. John's High School in Plaquemine in 1944, and he served his country during World War II. In 1950, he graduated from LSU with a degree in speech and journalism. He was the first on-the-air television news announcer on WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge. From 1958 to 1992, he served as the personnel manager and public relations director of DSM Copolymer. He was a past president of PRAL. During a lifetime of public service and civic activism, he served on numerous boards and worked for countless causes. A few of these many causes and organizations included: Junior Achievement, the United Way, Chamber of Commerce, Community Fund for the Arts, Volunteer Baton Rouge, St. Joseph's Academy, the Foundation for Historic Louisiana , Friends of Public Television, WBRH radio, Friends of the Baton Rouge Zoo, CODOFIL, the Arts Council, Operation Upgrade, the Press Club and the Southside Civic Association. Mr. Daigre was a longtime parishioner of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He was a musician and a very knowledgeable jazz expert who hosted his own radio show for a number of years. His public service achievements were many, but his greatest joys were meeting people and sharing a great joke with his friends. He was a bon vivant and a true gentleman to all who knew him, and to his family, he was always a dutiful son and brother, faithful husband, proud father and doting grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Daigre Sr.; and his beloved wife, Una Mildred Fournet Daigre. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Sylvia Daigre of Plaquemine; and a sister and brother-in-law, Harold and Mary Janice Schexnayder of White Castle. He is also survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Renee Fournet Daigre Ferguson and Dr. Daniel Ferguson of Baton Rouge, and Alice Fournet Daigre Lamy and Emmanuel Lamy of St.-Germain-en-Laye, France; and five grandchildren, Anna Claire Ferguson, Andrew Ferguson, Anthony Ferguson, Cecile Lamy and Francois Lamy. Visiting at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave., from 9 a.m. Saturday Nov. 10, 2001, until memorial Mass at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to make memorial donations to Tulane Medical School or to Alzheimers Research. GILCREASE, JR. GEORGE R.
A retired instrumentation electrician for Exxon Pipeline Co. with 35 years of service, he died at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 83, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Natchitoches. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served with the 309th Fighter Squadron in Northern Africa and the European Theater during World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at noon Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Merlin Liverman. interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Lela Dyson Gilcrease, Baton Rouge; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Ann Wheeler and Jim Wheeler, Colorado; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Dianna Ragusa Gilcrease and Bruce and Marie Gilcrease, all of Denham Springs, and Rodney G. Gilcrease, Baton Rouge; a sister, Marceil Dyson, Montgomery; a brother, Gain Gilcrease, Colfax; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, George R. Gilcrease Sr. and Edie Carroll Gilcrease; and four brothers, Darron, Milburn, Ray and Glen Gilcrease. Pallbearers will be Kyle Bannister, Ronnie Constanza, Mitch Covington, Tim Thompson, Jason Gremillion and Beau Miesner. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and a Masonic lodge in Montgomery for 50 years.

HAWKINS, HELEN MERKISON
A resident of Zachary, she died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at her residence. She was 73, a former resident of Detroit and a native of Butler, Ga. Visiting at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 22911 Reams Road, Zachary, from 11 a.m. Wednesday until religious services at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. John Turner. HILL, RITA FAYE TARVER
A homemaker and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, in Baton Rouge. She was 68 and a native of Wisner. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by Dr. T.J. Survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Denise "Dee" and Scott Dowell, Galvez, and Debi "Deb" and Kelley Babin, Claremore, Okla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Wendell "Buck" and Debra Hill, Galvez; three sisters, Mable Gibson and Ida Mae Lofton, both of Brookhaven, Miss., and Ruth King, Centerville, Texas ; two brothers, Guy Tarver, Hazlehurst, Miss., and W.C. "Buddy" Tarver, Centerville; and six grandchildren, Kelley "Pete" Babin Jr., Kaylee Babin, Diana Kay Brown, Christopher Galyean, Stacie Hill and Christy Hill. Preceded in death by her parents, Jenning C. and Addie Mathews Tarver; a son, Russell Wade Hill; a sister, Eula Mae Howell; and five brothers, Bill, Frank, Louis, Clarence and Russell Tarver.

HILTON, CLAUDIA MARIE RABVAIS
A sales clerk and a resident of Jackson ville, Fla., she died at 3 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, in Jackson ville. She was 34 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Little Zion Baptist Church, 1955 74th Ave., from 9 a.m. Wednesday until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Charles Taylor . interment in Thomas Chapel Cemetery. Survived by her husband, Curtis Hilton; mother and father, Evelyn Darander and Clyde Robvias; loving stepfather, Eddie Darander; grandfather, Edward L. Taplin; a son, Dequail Dewayne Robvias; three brothers, Gerrod Lynn, Donald Lee and Enoch Tyrone Robvias; paternal grandmother, Roseanna Bradford; a devoted friend, Shelton Stence; and numerous other relatives and friends. Hogan, all of Baton Rouge, and Keith T. Hogan, Destrehan; two sisters, Devora Wilson, Mount Hermon, and Katherine Washington , Baton Rouge; two brothers, Jesse James, Baton Rouge, and Talmadge James, Cleveland; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Hogan; a grandson, Marco Davis; father, Conway James; mother, Charlotte Dyson James; a sister, Helen Johnson ; and brothers, Richard James, Wilbert James, Claudie James, Maurice James and Robert Mike James. A retired city-parish employee with 30 years of service and a resident of Deerford, he died at 1:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 50 and a native of Zachary.
