A retired lunchroom worker at Walker High School and a resident of Denham Springs, she died at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Summit Hospital, Baton Rouge. She was 86 and a native of Independence. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services in the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Paul Jones. interment in Salem Cemetery, Walker. Survived by two daughters, Jeanette Jones Pierson and Barbara Diane Jones, both of Denham Springs; three sisters; three brothers; seven grandchildren, Carolyn Curtis, Darlene Ashley, Larry May, Roger May, Arthur Blount, Keith Blount and Donna Sibley; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Andrew Jones; a daughter, Norma Jean Blount; and parents, Oscar and Lessie Lee Morgan. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Walker.

KENT, MARGARET
Services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home, Hattiesburg, Miss., for Margaret Kent, 99, of Sumrall, Miss., and formerly of Baton Rouge, who died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Conva-Rest in Petal, Miss. Visitation at the funeral home after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. interment in Midway Cemetery near Hattiesburg. Born May 6, 1902, in Duncannon, County Wexford, Ireland, she was a homemaker and had been a volunteer at Woman's Hospital, Baton Rouge. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James. G. Kent; a son, James W. Kent; her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Helena and Aubrey O. Farlow of the Oloh community near Hattiesburg; a brother, William Clothier of Toronto; a sister, Patricia Stephenson of England; a grandson, James Farlow and his wife, Debbie; two great-grandchildren, Cory and Amanda Ritchey; a great-great-grandchild, Christopher Ritchey; and several nieces and nephews.

LANDRY, IDA JANE "AUNT JOHNNIE"
Born to Epheriam J. and Dolly Chaney Rudison on Nov. 24, 1918, in Dennis Mills, she was the fifth of five children. She was called from labor to reward at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Visiting at First Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church from 1 p.m. until religious services at 7 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Henry Brown. Dismissal at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial in Southern Memorial Gardens. She was a dedicated and longtime member of First Emmanual Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, served as a musician and Sunday school teacher, member of the Fourth District Women's Auxiliary and Home Mission Society. She also served as a musician for other churches. Sister Landry leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Rhonda Raenell Landry, Los Angeles; a son, the Rev. Adam H. Landry Jr., Crown Point, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Edith Lynn Williams; a nephew, Robert James Allen Jr., Los Angeles; a niece, Maxine Delores Pointer, New Orleans; five grandchildren, Cheryl, Tremmell, Cynthia, Adam and Brittany; a great-grandson and godchild, Kermit Ray Brown; a special niece, Yvette Dorsey; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, church members and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, the Rev. Adam H. Landry Sr., with whom she worked diligently in the church; two brothers and two sisters. Hall's Mortuary, Port Allen, in charge of arrangements.

LEVY, HAROLD BENJAMIN
Passed away on Monday, Nov. 5, 2001. He was born Jan. 10, 1918, in New Orleans. A 1938 graduate of LSU, he served as personnel director of LSU beginning in 1953, and later coordinator of personnel for the LSU system until 1983. He was also past president of the Southern College and University Personnel Association. His father, Herman, preceded him in death, as did his mother, Hanna Klein; and his sister, Beryl Rodrigue. Surviving him are his loving wife of 58 years, Billie Kathleen Hooten, whom he loved more than life itself; a brother, Dr. Louis Levy of New Orleans; three sons, their wives and their children: William Byron Levy of San Mateo, Calif., his wife, Catherine Gates, and children, John and Ann; Robert Wallace Levy of Ruston, his wife, Elaine Guy, and children, Melanie, Jennifer and Clair; and Harold Mark Levy of Baton Rouge, his wife, Mary Karen Cormier, and children, Noah and Sam; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Chris Andrews conducting.

MARSHALL, JOHN LOUIS "JOHN BOY"
A resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001. He was 25. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Services at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Dismissal at 10 a.m. Wednesday. interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. Survived by his father, John Browder; his mother, Lorita Marshall; a daughter, Tyranesha Riley; three sisters, Danielle Marshall, Tiffany Marshall and Felicia Chambers; two brothers, Anthony Marshall and John Sheppard; maternal grandparents, Earnest and Emily Marshall; paternal grandmother, Bertha Browder; godmother, Jeanetta Marshall; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by great-grandmother, Laura Wallace; grandfather, Henry Browder; and a brother, Malcolm Marshall.

MARTIN, DELORES ELIZABETH "DEE"
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31. The first-born child of Dorothy Sturdivent, she was born on May 10, 1938, in Baltimore. She departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001. She accepted Christ at an early age and re-dedicated her life at the Church of Burning Fire, where she was a member of the dance ministry and a graduate of El Shaddai Ministry. She later became a faithful member of Times of Refreshing Evangelistic Ministry, where she served in many capacities in ministry, under the leadership of Apostle Calvin Emery. She was a registered nurse at Earl K. Long Medical Center and other locations in New Orleans and Lake Charles. She served as an administrator at Baker Manor, Baker, and Convention Street Nursing Home, Baton Rouge. Religious services at Winnfield Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial in Winnfield Memorial Park. She leaves to mourn her mother, Dorothy Sturdivent; a loving stepfather, James Sturdivent, Baton Rouge; a daughter, Delois Johnson and husband Charley, Baton Rouge; two sons, William Richardson, Alabama, and Keitha Martin, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Dorthea Perry, Plainfield, N.J., and Dorothea Jackson , Bremen, Ga.; three brothers, Jonathan Barnett and wife Ella, Detroit, Arnold Barnett, Orange, N.J., and Michael Sturdivent and wife Kathy, St. Petersburg; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a devoted godchild, Jeffery Johnson , Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

MAYEUX, NELSON JOSEPH "JEAN-MICHAEL"
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures." Psalm 23:1-2 A chef with Desiree's Catering and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 45. Graveside inurnment services in Bethany World Prayer Center Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday. conducted by Pastor Darren Maracin. Survived by his mother and stepfather, Mary and James McFarland; father and stepmother, Horman "Hank" and Nicki Mayeux; a sister and brother-in-law, Shelia Mayeux Chenevert and David Chenevert, Baton Rouge; a brother, Billy W. Mayeux, Baton Rouge; two nieces, Brittany Coursey and Heather Coursey Ryder; a nephew, Jason Coursey; and a brother-in-law, Don Coursey, Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by a son, Arrington Taylor Mayeux-Sharp. He was a graduate of Culinary Institute, New York, and was named as one of America's top young 25 chefs by the American Food and Wine Institute in 1985. His hobbies were cooking, fishing and reading. PALMINTIER, SR. M.D. DOMINIC J.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Lafayette, for Dr. Dominic John Palmintier, who Passed away peacefully after an extended illness at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at his home in Lafayette with his family by his side. interment in Fountain Memorial Gardens, Lafayette. Visitation at Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Lafayette, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. Visitation at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Monsignor Glen Provost of Our Lady of Fatima will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the services. Maestro Xiao-Lu Li, accompanied by Geraldine Hubbell, will play the "Meditation" from the opera "Thais." Other musical selections for the services will be "The Prayer of St. Francis," Schubert's "Ave Maria," and "Oh, Lord, I Am Not Worthy," sung by Ramona Carmichael, accompanied by Jason Pennington. Also included will be the "Pié Jesu" from the Fauré Requiem. Dr. Palmintier was a prominent and beloved surgeon for more than 50 years. Originally from Hammond, he graduated from the LSU School of Medicine in 1946, and interned at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He served his country as a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1947 to 1950, and did his surgery residency at LSU-New Orleans and Lafayette Charity Hospital. He went to Lafayette in 1953, and was a founding member of the Hamilton Medical and Surgical Group. He was certified by the American Board of General Surgery in 1956. During his years of service to the Lafayette community, he served as clinical director of Lafayette Charity Hospital, and as chief of staff at Lafayette General Medical Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center and Hamilton Medical Center. He served as president of the Louisiana Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, as president of the James Rives Surgical Society and as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Southeastern Surgical Congress. He was a member of the New Orleans Surgical Society and the Surgical Association of Louisiana . After his retirement in 1986, he served as clinical professor of surgery at LSU Medical Center in Lafayette, where he taught surgical residents for 15 years. He was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He was a member of City Club of Lafayette and Petroleum Club of Lafayette, and a former member of Oakbourne Country Club, Chaines des Rotisseurs, the American Angus Society, the Louisiana Cattlemen's Association and the Krewe of Gabriel. He was also an avid supporter of the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra and of his alma mater, LSU. Dr. Palmintier is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Brownsberger Palmintier; and six children, including a daughter, Patricia P. Pritchard and her husband, Mark O. Pritchard, and five sons, Jon Stephen Palmintier and his wife, Joan, Michael C. Palmintier and his wife, Laura, David J. Palmintier and his wife, Sally, James P. Palmintier, and Daniel C. Palmintier and his wife, Nicole. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dominic II and his wife, Lori, Joshua and his wife, Erin, Bryan, Blake, Ellen, Genny, Julia, Andrew, Sarah and Rebecca Palmintier, Kari P. Price, Lindsay Pritchard and Benjamin Kommor; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron Palmintier and Tobin Price. Other survivors include his five sisters, Mary Alack, Augustine Lobue, JoAnn Peco, Mary Ann Masaracchia and Katherine DePaula. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Palmintier and Giavanna Signorelli; and his brothers, Vincent Palmintier, Joseph Palmintier, Johnny Palmintier and Frank Palmintier. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, and grandson-in-law, Jason Price. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Stephen Abshire, Dr. Aubrey Alexander, Dr. Brian Barnes, Dr. Al Beacham, Dr. Zerben Bienvenu, Dr. Edgar Breaux, Dr. Paul Breaux, Dr. John Bolin, Dr. Howard "Beau" Burch, Forrest K. "Dick" Dowty, Dr. Gerald Hubbell, Dr. Hugh Larriviere, Dr. Cliff Payne, Dr. Robert Pavy, Joseph Piccione, Ben Thibeaux and Orey Thibodeaux. Dr. Palmintier's family wishes to thank those caregivers who so tirelessly attended him in his final days, including Dr. Robert Rivet, Dr. Gene Brierre, Dr. David Autin, Dr. David Baker, Dr. Patrick Welch, Julie Guillory, Angela "Kat" Young, Eula Mae Bernard, Dona Broussard and Lorilla Geerts. In lieu of flowers, Dr. Palmintier's family requests donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnson St., Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70508. Until you have needed them, you cannot imagine how wonderful they are.

PREVOST, YVONNE GIROIR
A behavior shaping specialist at East Louisiana State Hospital for 25 years, she died at 12:25 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at her residence in Jackson . She was 58 and a native of Houma. Visiting at Second Baptist Church, Jackson , from 5 p.m. Monday until religious services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Dr. Mack P. Stewart and the Rev. Barry Stanley. interment in church cemetery. Survived by her husband of 37 years, Floyd V. Prevost, Jackson ; mother, Lucille Giroir, Jackson ; a son, Kim Prevost and his wife, Lisa Null Prevost, Jackson ; grandchildren, Taylor Lee Prevost, Justin Ryan Prevost and Tiffany Marie Prevost, all of Jackson ; and four brothers, Sylvester Giroir and his wife, Frances McCrory Giroir, and Alvin Giroir and his wife, Kay Dear Giroir, all of Jackson , Thomas "Tommy" Giroir and his wife, Barbara Dale DeLatte Giroir, Baker, and Ronald "Coonie" Giroir and his wife, Dawn McQueen Giroir, Jackson . Preceded in death by his father, Milton S. Giroir; and a brother, Milton Paul Giroir. RODRIGUEZ, ALPHONSO JOSÉ
A musician and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at his home. He was 58. Visiting at Scott's Bluff Morticians, 8546 Scenic Highway, from 6 p.m. Wednesday until religious services at 8 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Ivory Payne. Dismissal at 10 a.m. Thursday. interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by his mother, Mary Rodriguez; grandmother, Lillie Kent; a daughter, Mary Donnetta Rodriguez Latchman; a son, Milton Clanton; a sister, Anita Marie Winsey; and a brother, Archie Alton McGee. Preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Rodriguez; and a son, Raymond Clanton.

SANCHEZ, MILTON "HONEY"
A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 4:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 76. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 2 p.m. until services at 4 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by John Mullens. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. Survived by his wife, Kathryn Albritton Sanchez; a daughter, Dana Lee Haltom of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, Milton Jr. "Pug" and Sulyn Sanchez of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Julia Mullens, Naomi Jones and Eva Sue Chadbourne, all of Baton Rouge; and six grandchildren, Gia Lafield Esposito, Redondo Beach, Calif., Britt Lafield of New York City, and Davin, Trevor, Lyndsay and Adam Sanchez, all of Orlando. Preceded in death by parents, Robert and Blanche Sanchez; and three brothers, Hagler, Flip and Bobby Sanchez. A retired heavy equipment operator with George Neal Construction, he died at 2 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at his residence in Morganza. He was 60 and a native of Leonville. Visiting at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Morganza, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Howard Hall. interment in church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Rose Mary J. Stoute, Morganza; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and David Brown, Morganza; five stepsons, Randy, Danny, Kenneth and John David, all of Pointe Coupee Parish, and Darrell David of Atlanta; three sisters, Elta Chautin, Oscar, Jessaline Landry, Frisco, and Olea Ray Goudeau, Jarreau; two brothers, Sidney Stoute Jr., Ventress, and John Allen Stoute, Jarreau; a grandchild, Thomas "T.J." Brown; and five stepgrandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Sr. and Alta Stoute; and a stepson, Harold David. Pallbearers will be stepsons and brother. A resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 52. Visiting at Scott's Bluff Morticians, 8546 Scenic Highway, from 10 a.m. Wednesday until religious services at 1 p.m., conducted by Bishop Otis Collins. interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. Survived by his mother, Sarah Williams; five sisters, Pearlie Mae, Gloria Mae, Gloria Ann and Barbara Ann Williams and Mandy W. Johnson ; a devoted brother-in-law, Lawrence Jackson ; two brothers, David and Charles Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Williams and Lillian Franklin; and a nephew, Derrick Johnson .
