Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at 9 a.m. in East Bayou Baptist Church for Bill Dotson, age 69, who died Thurs-day, Aug. 2, 2001, in the Lafayette General Medical Center. The Rev. Mike Walker will officiate. Survi-vors include his loving wife of 44 years, Jane Dotson of Lafayette; a daughter, Alicia Germany and her husband, Ned of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Doug Dotson and his wife, Michelle of Lafayette; five grand-children, Britney, Bailey and Brett Dotson and Elizabeth and Olivia Germany; his mother, Gertrude Dotson of Orange, Texas ; and two brothers, Donald and Jerry Dot-son, both of Orange. Coach Dotson was the athletic director and foot-ball coach at Acadiana High School for 24 years. The family requests that visiting hours be ob-served from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday. Memorial contributions in Coach Dotson's name may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503. ETHRIDGE, FLOYE YARBOROUGH SKAGGS
A resident of Biloxi, Miss., she died Thursday, August 2, 2001, at her residence. She was 72 and a native of Kentwood. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Kent-wood, from 1 p.m. Saturday until religious services at 3 p.m., con-ducted by the Rev. Dennis Mitchell. interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood. Survived by her husband, Thomas E. Ethridge, Biloxi; a daughter, Rebecca Sk-aggs Ladner, Biloxi; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sonja Skaggs, Mobile, Ala.; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann Jones and Sherry Powell, both of Pass Christian, Miss.; three brothers, Hubert and Bobby Yarborough, both of Kentwood, and Roy Yar-borough, Hammond; four grandc-hildren, Scott Ladner, Shannon Ladner, Trey Skaggs and Adam Skaggs; six stepgrandchildren, Meredith Jones, Preston Jones, Katie Powell, Brett Powell, Chris Ethridge and Aaron Ethridge. Pre-ceded in death by her parents, Lanis and Pearl Yarborough; first husband, Jean T. Skaggs; two sis-ters, Hilda Stevens and Jewell Herrington; four brothers, Willie Joe Yarborough, Lanis Yarbor-ough Jr., Lee Ponder Yarborough and Clarence Pearson; and a step-son, Randy Ethridge.

GORMAN, PATTY HARRIS
A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, she died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, S.C. She was 49. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, by the Rev. Joe Dell Rust at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. She was born in Elkin, N.C., on July 2, 1952. She was pre-ceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Newman Har-ris. She graduated from Elkin High School in 1970. She is sur-vived by her husband, Richard Gorman of Baton Rouge; a daugh-ter, Laurie Wylie of Columbus, Ga.; two sons, Joshua and Jason Gorman of Baton Rouge; a brother, Jerry Harris of Pawleys Island, S.C.; four sisters, Judy Groce, Linda Dyson and Phyllis Wall, all of Hamptonville, N.C., and Vickie Brown of East Bend; and two brothers, Michael Wilson and Randy Belton, both of Yadkin-ville, N.C. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Smith; and a brother, Bobby Belton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that any memorials be made to Pawleys Island-Litchfield Rescue Squad, Pawleys Island, SC 29585. GRAY, ANNETTE JOHNSON
A custodian with East Baton Rouge Parish School Board and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 9:25 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 59 and a native of Clinton. Visiting at Winn-field Funeral Home from noon to 6 p.m. Friday. Religious services at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. A.J. Parnell. interment in Days Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery. Survived by her hus-band, Frank Lee Gray; father and mother, L.C. and Lillie Mae John-son; a daughter, LaFran S. Gray; three sons, Terrence L. Gray, An-toino F. Gray Sr. and Shelvin Gray Sr. and wife Carolyn; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nita and L.V. Thompson and Lovie and Albert Hall; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John Henry Sr. and Catherine Johnson and Louis and Mary John-son; and eight grandchildren, Bridgett Ducote, Phylicia Tate, Tiffany Gray, Terrica Franklin, Antoino Gray Jr., Bianca Ducote, Shelvin Gray Jr. and Daylynn Gray. Preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Lillie Mae John-son; and grandparents. She was a Girl Scout service leader, head usher of the senior and junior usher boards and the stewardess board.

GREEN, SIMUEL
A resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Re-gional Medical Center. He was 77 and a native of Thibodaux. Relig-ious services at True Vine Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, con-ducted by the Rev. Frank Green. interment in Lutheran Cemetery. Preceded in death by his father, Peter Green Sr.; mother, Selena Green; two brothers, Peter Green Jr. and Cleveland Green Sr.; and wife, Virginia Green. Capital Fu-neral Home in charge of arrange-ments.

HARLOW, SR. DONALD DALE
Retired and a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union 198 and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Re-gional Medical Center. He was 77 and a native of Sullivan, Ind. Visit-ing at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, con-ducted by the Rev. Joe Donakey. interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry DeWayne Harlow, and Donald Dale Jr. and Donna Latil Harlow, all of Baton Rouge; a grandson, Blake Elliot Harlow, Baton Rouge; a sister and a brother-in-law, Patricia Harlow Ragsdale and Leland Ragsdale, Co-lumbus, Ind.; a twin brother and sister-in-law, Ronald G. Harlow Sr. and Gloria S. Harlow, Baton Rouge; five nephews and a niece. Preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Viola Robertson Harlow, who were from Sullivan, Ind.; and a sister, Rena Bedwell, who was from Sullivan. Pallbear-ers are Matt Bruce, Ronald Har-low Jr., Howard Ragsdale, Don La-til Jr., Kurt Wilson and Carl Hoover. He was a member of American Legion, VFW and a Ma-sonic lodge. He was a volunteer for Baton Rouge Food Bank and a member of Ingleside United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army master sergeant, Company "F", 135th Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division - with combat duty in European Theater during World War II. He was a graduate of Union High School in Dugger, Ind.

HILL, MORRIS A.
A retired dairy production su-perintendent with Borden Dairy, he died at Flannery Oaks Guest House. He was 88 and a native of China Springs, Texas and a resi-dent of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Fri-day from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visit-ing on Saturday from noon until services at 2 p.m. interment at Greenoaks Memorial Park. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved the Lord and was an ordained dea-con and active for many years at Florida Boulevard Baptist Church and Parkview Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Leon Terrell of Bayou Chicot and Nancy and Charles Amy of Eunice; step-daugthers and spouses, Debra and Cary Hoover and Bettye and Rich-ard Jones, all of Baton Rouge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Terry Hill of Dallas and Daniel and Suzanne Hill of Ba-ton Rouge; stepsons and spouses, Michael and Tina Davis of Baton Rouge, Kenneth and Amiee Davis of Austin, Texas , and stepdaugh-ter-in-law, Julia Davis of Denham Springs; brothers, Eugene and Monet Hill of Hurst, Texas ; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 22 years, Autine McDonald Hill; second wife of 27 years, Rose Vanosdell Davis Hill; brother, Lewis Hill; sisters, Fanny Thornal, Ruth Hurlbert; stepson, William Davis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the senior adult ministries of Parkview Baptist Church or Florida Boulevard Baptist Church. A spe-cial thanks to the caring staff of Flannery Oaks Guest House and a heartfelt thanks for all the prayers and thoughtfullness of those who knew and loved him.

HOGANS, MILDRED MORGAN
A retired school teacher with West Feliciana Parish school sys-tem, she died at 10:30 p.m. Mon-day, July 30, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. She was 66 and a resident and native of St. Francis-ville. Visiting at St. Francisville Funeral Home, St. Francisville, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. Relig-ious services at Afton Villa Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, con-ducted by the Rev. Sam Johnson . interment in Afton Villa Ceme-tery. Survived by five sisters, Carolyn Morgan Lewis and Ruby Morgan of Chicago, Annie Morgan and Virginia and Willie B. Austin of Baton Rouge, and Deborah and husband Sam Whitfield of St. Francisville; and five brothers and sisters-in-law, Earnest and Susie Morgan, Horace and Laura Mor-gan, Larry and Jean Morgan of New Orleans, Robert and Sarah Morgan of Woodville, Miss., and Walter and Eloise Morgan of Ba-ton Rouge. Preceded in death by her husband, Feltus J. Hogans; mother, Susie Burrow Morgan; fa-ther, Earnest Morgan Sr.; and grandmother, Carolyn Winder. Pallbearers will be Horace G. Morgan, Robert E. Morgan, Larry Morgan, Walter E. Morgan, Willie B. Austin, Sam E. Whitfield Jr., Ledell Allen and Garret Chase. Honorary pallbearers are Earnest Morgan Jr., Roderick Morgan, By-ron Whitfield, Terrance Morgan, Patrick Morgan, Feltus Sterling, Jerry Sterling, Tyrone Sterling, Kevin Sterling and members of the deacon board at Afton Villa Baptist Church. She was a gradu-ate of Dawson High School and Southern University, and a youth leader and choir director at Afton Villa Baptist Church.

HOLDEN, DONALD RAY
A landscaper and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, in Baton Rouge. He was 32. Visiting at Hall's Mortuary, Port Allen, from 10 a.m. Saturday until services at noon, conducted by pastors Edith and Jim Howard. interment in Hope Cemetery, Plank Road. Sur-vived by his devoted mother, Dorothy Holden, Baton Rouge; fa-ther, Donald Ray Hall, Berkeley, Calif.; and two sisters, Pamela Holden and Lisa Weatherspoon; two brothers, Dwayne and Regi-nald Holden; a sister-in-law, Mary Yvette Holden; special friends, Wilfred Franklin, Michael Ger-many, Raphael Rogers and Craig Gaines, all of Baton Rouge; and aunts, uncles and other relatives. Preceded in death by his grand-parents, Abe and Bertha Holden and Ernest and Helen O'Connor; and an uncle, Leon Keelen.

HURST, HERMAN
A brick mason and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 78 and a native of Plaquemine. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church from 8:30 a.m. Saturday until recitation of the rosary 9:30 a.m. Religious services at the church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Jaison. interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Sur-vived by his wife, Thelma Hurst; a daughter, Patricia Elbert, Baton Rouge; two sons, Nelson Hurst, Baton Rouge, and Gregory Hurst, Houston; a sister, Lydia Davis, Los Angeles; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numer-ous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Hennesy and Geneva Huret. Pallbearers will be Gerard Elbert, Larry El-bert, Jessie Joseph, Lionel Bazille, William Porche and Murray Chen-evert. Honorary pallbearers are Burnell Elbert, Lutterell Cox, J.D. Joseph, Alvin Lemon, Henry Raby and William Major. He was a member of St. Paul Parish Council and Brick Layers Local No. 5. Desselle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

JOHNSON, LOYD COLBY
Died Tuesday morning, July 31, 2001, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 87, a resident of Baton Rouge, a native of Wisconsin and a former longtime resident of Garmis-ch/Partenkirchen and Frankfurt, Germany. He was a World War II veteran (D-Day+6) and a 1953 world champion bobsledder. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary Richards Johnson ; a son, Michael Johnson of Basel, Switzer-land; and two nieces, a nephew and their families. Visitation will be at the home at 3155 Hundred Oaks Ave., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001. Memorial contribu-tions may be made to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 24th St. NW, Washington , DC 20037-1132.

KAVANAUGH, MASON STEWARD AND MALLORY JOYCE
Infant twins and natives of Ba-ton Rouge, Mason died at 3:15 a.m. and Mallory died at 3:21 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, in Baton Rouge. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and in the chapel from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Wade Moran. interment in Household of Faith Cemetery. Survived by their parents, Mark and Monica Stewart Kavanaugh, Baton Rouge; two brothers, Mark Jr. and Jacob Kavanaugh; two sisters, Sara and Molly Kavanaugh; maternal grandparents, J.M. and Joyce Stewart, and paternal grand-mother, Cynthia Murry. Preceded in death by paternal grandfather, John Kavanaugh.

LAMBERT, ASHTON NOAH
Died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at his home in Gonzales. He was 3 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visit-ing was at Welsh Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at St. Mark Catholic Church from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday. Mass of Chris-tian Burial at the church at 11 a.m. Friday, celebrated by the Rev. Joel LaBauve. interment in Hope Ha-ven Cemetery, Gonzales. Survived by his parents, Duane P. Lambert and Vickie Lynn Cicet Lambert, Gonzales; a brother, Hunter John Lambert, Gonzales; grandparents, John and Irma Cicet and Barry and Jeanette Lambert, all of St. Amant; aunts and uncles, Stephanie and Kent Cicet, St. Amant, Kelly and Derrick Moreau, Galvez, Wendy and Claude Si-moneaux, Baton Rouge, Kirk and Crystal Lambert, St. Amant, and Ty and June Lambert, Arkansas. Preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Glenda Cicet. Pall-bearers will be Kirk Lambert, Ty Lambert, Derrick Moreau, Kent Cicet and Claude Simoneaux. He loved his John Deere tractor.
