A resident of Plaquemine, she died at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2001, at her daughter's residence in Plaquemine. She was 86 and a native of Loreauville. Memorial Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine, at 1 p.m. Monday, celebrated by the Rev. Dean Martin. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Seth Sumrall, Morgan City, and Geralyn and Obie Watts, Plaquemine; two sisters, Mag Wimberly, Carencro, and May LeBlanc , New Iberia; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Kern; a son, John Kern; an infant daughter, Diane Kern; an infant son, Robert; parents, Emile and Ouida Boutte Gesser; and two brothers, Herman and Wallace Gesser. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she formerly served as a Eucharistic minister, minster to the sick and member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was a former nursing home and Hospice volunteer. Memorial donations can be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine, or Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Siegan Lane, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70810. KIMBALL, WANDA MARIE
A beloved friend, sister and aunt, she died Monday, May 14, 2001, in Baton Rouge. She was born April 22, 1942, in Alexandria, and grew up in Lafayette. She graduated from University of Southwestern Louisiana and had been a resident of Baton Rouge for the past 23 years. She served as a volunteer, and later as a staff member, with Battered Women's Program in Baton Rouge. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Beverly Kimball; a sister, Marilyn Kimball; two nephews, Billy "Bebo" Doré and Stephen Kimball; and two nieces, Kim Prejean and Kelli Berges, all of Lafayette; and numerous beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Ella B. Kimball; and by her dear friends, Ed "Bud" Dugas and Sharon Rocheford. Memorial services at Unity Church of Christianity, 15255 Old Jefferson Highway, at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2001, conducted by the Rev. Jan Mahannah Moskus. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a selected charity.

KRAMER, SR. RICHARD CARL
A pipe fitter with Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 198 and a resident of Prairieville, he died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2001, in Baton Rouge. He was 50 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Monday. Religious services at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Bob Stine. interment in church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Annie J. Kramer, Prairieville; mother, Elma Templet Kramer Simoneaux, Sorrento; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Deney and Ralph Parker, Prairieville, Chantel and James Griffith, Watson, and Dannay and Ken Bourgeois, Prairieville; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Shawn Kramer, Prairieville, Richard C. Jr. and Lisa Kramer, Theodore, Ala., and Tweed and Laura Almond, Dutchtown; three sisters, Carolyn Wilson, Ocala, Fla., Patricia Wolfe, French Settlement, and Donna Abbott, Sorrento; three brothers, Butch Dupuy, Prairieville, John Kramer Jr., Gonzales, and Dennis Kramer, Central; and 11 grandchildren, Charles, Robert, DeWaynne, Zachary, Gina, Sebastian, Ryan, Memorie, Dylan, Seth and Sarah Grace. Preceded in death by his father, John W. Kramer Sr. Pallbearers will be Terry Molea, Ronnie Melancon, Kirk Carpenter, Louis LeBlanc , Steve Cormier and John Maranto Jr. Honorary pallbearer is Marc Kramer.

LUCAS, EUNICE ZENN
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and a homemaker and resident of Zachary, she died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. She was 94 and a native of Lindsay. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road, from 5 p.m. until religious services at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Lucius O'Connor. Dismissal at 10 a.m. Wednesday. interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by a daughter, Rosemary Lucas Stacia, Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Bernard and Hilda Lucas, Baton Rouge; a sister, Edna Balls, Beaumont, Texas ; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Lucas, Oakland, Calif.; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Willis Zenn; her husband, Henry Lucas; two daughters, Marion Parks and Naomi Lucas; three brothers and a sister.

LUCAS, WINIFRED MURPHY
A retired interior designer and owner of Winifred Lucas Interiors, she died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at 4 p.m. after a prolonged illness. She was 91, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of St. Gabriel. She was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Lucas; her parents, John Barrett Murphy and Eleanor Prescott Murphy; and eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Charles S. Williamson III and Mrs. Joseph H. Gammill, both of Baton Rouge; her niece and adopted daughter, Mrs. Stanley Sporny of Hunnington, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Charles E. Henry Jr., Samuel Lucas Henry, Warren Prescott Henry and Laure Payton Henry; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at St. Joseph Cathedral from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Monday, celebrated by the Rev. Frank M. Uter. interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. In 1948, she opened her business, Winifred Lucas Interiors. She was a member of the American Institute of Decorators and the American Society of Interior Designers, to which she was elected a life member in 1984. She was actively involved with the LSU School of Interior Design and was recognized by the design industry on many occasions, receiving the Brown and Damaré Award in 1979. In 1997, Gov. Mike Foster presented her with the Governor's Award for her life dedication and contributions to the design profession nationally and to the state of Louisiana . She was a member of The Colonial Dames XVII Century, The Dames of the Magna Carta and The Louisiana Colonials. Pallbearers will be Earl J. Savoie, Thompson M. Wallace, Ben R. Franklin III, Thomas Michael Murphy, William Gamill, Joseph Prescott Murphy, Murphy J. Foster III and James Crow Murphy III. Honorary pallbearers are Donelson T. Caffery of Franklin, William D. MARSHALL, ETHEL MAE JACKSON
"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord...that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them."--Rev. 14:13. A retired teacher from Franklin Parish School Board and a resident of Winnsboro, she entered into eternal rest at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. A native of Baton Rouge, she was a graduate of Southern Lab High School and received bachelor and master of education degrees from Southern University. She taught English for 32 years at Franklin Parish Training School, Franklin High School and Ward III High School. Following her retirement, she served as secretary for the School Board for 12 years. She was a Golden Soror of Alpha Kappa Alpha and a member of Zeta Phi Omega chapter in Monroe. She also served on the board of trustees for Council on Aging and Franklin Parish Credit Union. She was a founding member of Modern Matron's Club in Winnsboro. Visitation at Richardson Funeral Home, 1001 Bosworth St., Winnsboro, from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services at Winnsboro Second Baptist Church, 926 Bosworth St., Winnsboro, at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Herman E. Harris officiating. interment in Southern Memorial Gardens, 3021 Blount Road, Baton Rouge, at 4 p.m. Monday. Survived by her husband of 47 years, Solon Marshall, Winnsboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Terrence S. and Sharon J. Marshall, Baton Rouge; a daughter, Deidre Marshall, Dallas; two grandchildren, Terrika Marshall and Terrence Marshall Jr.; two sisters, Willia Beatrice J. Simmons and Constance J. LaBeaux; a brother-in-law, Murry L. LaBeaux; and a niece, Iris S. Alexander, all of Baton Rouge; a nephew and his wife, Willie Jackson III and Monique, Seattle; two great-nieces, Ivanna Thais Alexander, Silver Spring, Md., and Vanessa Jackson , Seattle; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Willie Sr. and Minnie Stevenson Jackson ; a brother, the Rev. Willie Jackson Jr.; and a great-niece, DeApril LaClaire Alexander.

Wake services at Greater Progressive Baptist Church, White Castle, at 7 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. J. Williams. She is survived by a daughter, Nawieta Miles; a son, Nigel Miles; her mother, Amy Miles; four sisters, Australia and Stephanie Miles, Veary O'Bear and Corelia Verret; four brothers, Eugene Jr., Felton, Monroe and Gary Miles; and a host of other close relatives and friends.

POLLARD, SR. DENNIS CHARLES
A resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 8:10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2001. He was 59 and a native of New Orleans. He was the beloved husband of Jill Marie Pollard; father and father-in-law of Dennis C. Jr. and Donna Pollard, Dawnell and Mark Anders and Erin M. Kilpatrick; son of Sonia Emily Callahan and the late William Pollard; brother of James Pollard, Patty P. Culver and the late Peter Pollard; grandfather of Blake, Elizabeth and Brittany Pollard, Eve Anders and Jordan M. Kilpatrick; and fishing companion of Teddy Bear Pollard. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he passed into eternal life at 3 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 71, a resident of Greenwell Springs and a native of Brookhaven, Miss. He was a retired inspector with the city-parish and former owner of Ratcliff and LeBlanc Inc. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and after 1 p.m. Monday. A resident of Algiers for the past 30 years, she died Wednesday, June 13, 2001. She was 78 and a native of Paulina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar Schexnayder and the late Noela Frederic Schexnayder; sister of Margery Groteguth, Gloria J. Schexnayder, Dolores Masson, Marilyn Staley, Phyllis Englade, Mary Angela Scallon, Elwood Schexnayder, Ray J. Schexnayder, J. Rogwell Schexnayder and Paul Schexnayder; beloved friend of Marie C. Primm; and is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was also preceded in death by two nephews and a grand-niece. TAYLOR, THE REV. J. W.
Former pastor of Old Zion Hill in Albany, New Zion Baptist in Covington, Bayou Plaquemine Baptist in Plaquemine and Second Baptist Church in Jackson , he died at 1 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. His entire life was dedicated to serving the Lord and through his ministry of more than 50 years, many lives were changed. He was 78 and a native and resident of Colyell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
