Toups, Montpelier; parents, Clifton and Clara Toups; three daughters, Darleen Watts, Albany, Karen King, Denham Springs, and Jerri Patterson, Tangipahoa; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pamela Ann T. Hoffpuir and David Wayne Hoffpuir, Zachary, and Barbara T. Hull and Russell Anthony Hull Sr., Hot Springs, Ark..; seven nieces and nephews, a grandnephew and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by grandmothers, Annie Lewis Quinn and Charlott Morvant Toups; and an uncle, James H. Quinn. Pallbearers will be Scott Bynre, Michell Easley, John Paul Easley, David Hoffpuir, Russell Hull Sr. and Russell Hull Jr. He was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church and Montpelier Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to hunt and fish.

VIGNES, JAMES O.
A retired painter and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Earl K. Long Medical Center. He was 70. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. George Storms. interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. Survived by his wife, Joan C. Vignes, Baton Rouge; two stepdaughters, Brenda and husband Joe Badeaux, San Antonio, and Debra and husband Paul Hebert, Baker; two stepsons, Vernon "Buddy" and wife Cheryl Foster, Erwinville, and Robert E. Austin, Baton Rouge; four granddaughters, Shannon, Ashley, Gina and Jenna; two grandsons, B.J. and Sterling; and a great-grandchild, Kortlyn. Preceded in death by mother, father, a brother and a sister.

WILLIAMS, ISIAH "SONNY"
A native and resident of Baton Rouge, he died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 52. Visiting at Greater King David Baptist Church, 222 Blount Road, from 9 a.m. Monday until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Donald Montgomery. interment in Winnfield Memorial Park. Survived by his father, Isiah Williams; stepfather, David Campbell; a daughter, Angela Williams; three sons, Edward Dumas, Keith Williams and Isaac Weatherspoon; two sisters, Alma Williams and Patricia Albert; five stepbrothers, Wayne, Gregory, Cleveland, Walter and Malcolm Knighten; and nine grandchildren. Preceded in death by his mother, Annie Campbell; and a brother, Elmer Williams. Winnfield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

WILSON, WILLIAM B. "BILLY"
A retired Exxon Co. USA employee with 43½ years of service and a native and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 79. He was a veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Ed Griffin. interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Thelma G. Wilson; a daughter, Darlene Wilson; a brother, John Sidney Wilson; four nieces and two nephews; and a special cousin, Laurie Barillier. Preceded in death by his father, John S. Wilson; and mother, Lila Barillier Wilson.

WISNIESKI, RAYMOND CLARENCE
A retired general store owner and a resident of Plainfield Township, Ill., he died Thursday, June 14, 2001, in Joliet, Ill. He was 85 and a native of Sobieski, Minn. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. Visiting at St. Michael Catholic Church, Convent, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Louis Poche. interment in church cemetery. Survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Melanie and Thomas Usrey, Monroe, Janet and Roger Mitchell, Plainfield, Ill., and Susan and Brock Williams, Sugar Land, Texas ; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Irene Fenske, Bernadine and Todd Hawk, Eleanor and Zigmund Nagorski, Lorraine and Donald Lobsinger and Adeline and George Ringwelski; a brother, Richard Wisnieski; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Rita Ory Wisnieski; parents, Joseph and Martha Sobiek Wisnieski; and a sister, Sylvia Kowalczyk. Pallbearers will be Christophe and Spencer Usrey and Eric, Trevor, Roger and Brock Williams. Alexander Funeral Home, Lutcher, in charge of arrangements.

ADCOCK, MABEL BOURG
A retired postmistress with the U.S. Postal Service in Belle Rose/Klotzville and a resident of Donaldsonville, she died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2001, in Donaldsonville. She was 79 and a native of Belle Alliance. Visiting at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Donaldsonville, from 11 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon Saturday, concelebrated by the Rev. Michael Galea and the Rev. Randy Cuevas. Entombment in Ascension Mausoleum. Survived by a sister, Alma B. Adams, Donaldsonville; a brother, Claude Bourg Sr., Donaldsonville; a special nephew, Darden "Potchie" Adams; a special great-niece, Erin Adams; nieces and other nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles V. "Chuck" Adcock; a daughter, Valerie Adcock; a granddaughter, Hattie Falcon; parents, Valery and Sedonia L. Grange Bourg; a sister and six brothers.

ANDERSON, LUBERTHA ELLOIS
A retired principal with the Pointe Coupee Parish school system and a resident of New Roads, she died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Ventress. She was 92 and a native of Ventress. Visiting at St. Augustine Catholic Church, New Roads, from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Services will be conducted by Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary and Zeta Phi Beta sorority. Religious services at the church at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Anthony Nwachukou-Udaku, S.S.J. interment in Chenal Cemetery. Survived by two sisters, Eveline Christopher and Georgiana Batiste, both of Ventress; two sisters-in-law, Angelena Ellois, Ventress, and Evelyn Ellois, Baton Rouge; a niece, Catherine E. Stevenson and husband Roosevelt J. Stevenson, Baton Rouge; two great-nieces, Kemberly A. Stevenson and Valarie Ellois, both of Pittsburgh; and two nephews, Willard J. Ellois and wife Mary C. Ellois, Ventress, and J. Bernard Ellois and wife Mary P. Ellois, Pittsburgh. Preceded in death by her husband, Cary Anderson; parents, Edward and Delphine Ellois; a sister, Beatrice Ellois; and two brothers, Leroy Ellois and Dr. Edward R. Ellois Jr. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Southern University and a master of arts degree in administration and supervision from the University of Illinois. She pursued further studies at LSU, Syracuse University and the University of Chicago. She was a life member of Mu Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta sorority and Southern University and the University of Illinois alumni associations. She was a member of Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, National Education Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals and American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 560. Pointe Coupee Funeral Home, New Roads, in charge of arrangements.

BLADES, OTERA THELMA PIERCE
Died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Kentwood Manor Nursing Home, Kentwood. She was 95, a native of Tangipahoa Parish and a resident of Kentwood. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by Dr. Danny Smith. interment in Spring Creek Cemetery, Spring Creek. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine B. and Cade Williams, Kentwood; three daughters-in-law, Donice McIntyre Blades, Lenora Givens Blades and Inez Slaven Blades, all of Kentwood; 11 grandchildren, Reggie and Roy Blades, Keitha B. Allen, Connie B. Blades, Desiree and Darcy Blades, Jimmy Lynn Williams, Vickie W. Neyland, Sonya W. Newman and Jason and Tyrone Blades; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Elias Blades; three sons, James Dalton Blades, Winfred Alva Blades and Bobby Lynn Blades; three sisters, Hollen Pierce, Edna Ellen P. Breland and Ruby Cleo P. Guy; and four brothers, Ashford Bryant "Boots" Pierce, Roy Peter Pierce, Devon "Duby" Pierce and Norman Vernon "Pete" Pierce. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. She was an excellent cook and a loving and dedicated mother and wife who always put the needs of her children and family ahead of her own. A retired employee of Southern University Housing Department and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 85 and a native of St. Francisville. Visiting at Mount Bethel Missionary Baptist Church from 3 p.m. Sunday until religious services at 7 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Gregory L. Coates. Dismissal at 11 a.m. Monday. interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by her husband, the Rev. Frank Browder Sr.; two daughters, Mamie Bell and Jessie Mae Taylor ; three sons, Frank Browder Jr., Walter E. Browder and Alvin J. Browder; four sisters, Winnie Sanders, Sallie Coleman, Mary Johnson and Augusta Bush; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and three brothers. Pallbearers will be Frank Browder Jr., Walter Browder, Frank Browder III, Matroy Browder, Iberville Taylor and James Walter. COLEMAN, SAMMIE LEE
A resident of Baton Rouge, he departed this life Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Earl K. Long Medical Center. He was 50. DUPONT, VERA CORDELIA LANDRY
The first supervisor and a former director of the Plaquemine Teenage Youth Center from 1941-1953 and a retired sales associate with the Village Dress Shop from 1953-1965, she died at 4:01 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2001, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, Lafayette. She was 100, a native of Paincourtville, a resident of Lafayette and a former longtime resident of Plaquemine. Visitation at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, celebrated by the Rev. Jerome Dugas. interment in St. John Cemetery, Plaquemine. Survived by two daughters, Barbara D. Bourgeois, Broussard, and Celeste "Willie" Milliken, Lafayette; a son, Joseph E. Dupont Jr., Plaquemine; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Emile Dupont Sr.; a son, Thomas Dalton Dupont; her parents, Dr. Adrian A. Landry and Celeste Barker Landry; four brothers, her eldest brother James B. Landry, Earl A. Landry, George D. Landry and Louis A. Landry; and two sisters, Grace L. Knecht and Eva L. Rayne. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette and was a former member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. The family will accept flowers. Dismissal at 10 a.m. Monday. interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by her husband, Mitchell J. Geran; two sons, Derek Washington and wife Chandra, Donaldsonville, and Michael Geran and wife Mallery, Denham Springs; two daughters, Michelle G. Johnson and husband Joseph, and Stephanie Harris and husband Elcide, all of Baton Rouge; Anita Renee Chatman, Atlanta, who was like a daughter to her; a stepson, Mitchell Duncan and wife Melanie; a sister, Barbara Washington Brown; three nieces, Naomi Riley, Baton Rouge, Barbara Lewis and Farris Smith, both of New Orleans; a nephew, Edwin Terry Brown, Baton Rouge; and 13 grandchildren, Dereka, Derek Jr., Sean Christopher, Genesis, Gabrielle, Michael Terence II, Joshua David, Kayla, Kameron Micah, Brittany, Brian, Chris and Joseph Haywood III.
